Lil Moe 6Blocka & Rooga Connect On “Scrappers”

Drill is alive and well these days. The DIY subculture from Chicago has turned into a global phenomenon that’s taken over Brooklyn and London. However, it’s the Chi that delivers the drill in its most unadulterated form.

Hip-hop, in general, is still driven by youth culture. This week, rising Chicago rapper Lil Moe 6Blocka teamed up with Rooga for their new collaborative project, Scrappers. Their new joint effort brings together the two rappers over eerie and menacing drill production for an excellent display of chemistry. The project has no credited features — just Lil Moe and Rooga swapping gritty bars over heavy drill production.

Twitter Reacts To Unflattering Viral Photo Of Shannon Brown

After going on a hiatus last year, Ice Cube’s Big3 League returned for the first time since 2019 a couple of weeks ago, and so far, the season has been a success, with Kanye West even making an appearance at the Killer 3’s and 3’s Company game on July 17. The innovative three-on-three basketball league features a mix of former NBA champions, retired veterans, and former D-league players, so every once in a while, a familiar face is bound to pop up.

In fact, that’s what recently happened during a game between the Ghost Ballers and the Aliens, when fans spotted former Los Angeles Laker and two-time NBA champion Shannon Brown. Rather than a bunch of excited reactions from fans who were happy to see him balling again, an unflattering screengrab of Brown mid-game is what everyone on Twitter was actually focused on.

In the photo, the 35-year-old professional basketball player appeared to have gained a lot of weight and lost his hair, leading many people to body-shame and scrutinize Monica’s ex-husband. However, as many social media users have pointed out, the viral picture was simply a horrible one, and Shannon Brown is still in decent shape and playing well in the Big3 league.

Young Thug Said He’s ‘About’ To Put Out His New Album, ‘Punk,’ And Teases A New Song From It

Young Thug last released a solo album back in 2019. So Much Fun, the rapper’s debut album, became his most successful project, selling over 100,000 album units in the first week. At the time of its release, it seemed like he’d be back soon. He even said its follow-up would arrive a mere two months later. That never happened. But two years later, it seems like it may belatedly arrive.

During his performance at Miami’s Rolling Loud festival on Saturday, Young Thug an update on the long-awaited album. “Yo so listen,” Thug said onstage. “I’m about to put this album out, right? It’s called Punk. If I can perform something off of the album say hell yeah!” After taking in loud cheers from the crowd, the rapper went right into the new song, which he said is titled “Tik Tok.”

During a 2019 profile with Fader, during which Punk was first announced, Thug shared details about it. “It’s most definitely touching music,” he said. “It’s music that the world is going to embrace. […] [Punk] means brave, not self-centered, conscious. Very, very neglected, very misunderstood. Very patient, very authentic.” He also described the album as “real rap,” saying, “[Real rap is] letting people in, letting people know what you go through. Let them know that you the same. […] I just want to open up, Let people know that I’m not just a rapper, I’m a human being.”
Young Thug is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Jay Critch Turns Up On “To The Sky”

Jay Critch has been serving up bangers in recent times. He’s only a few months removed from the release of his heavily anticipated project, The Critch Tape. Still, the rapper doesn’t seem to be ready to slow down any time soon. He’s continued to push out new singles in recent times like “PC” which arrived just a few weeks ago. It seems as if The Critch Tape isn’t all he has in store for 2021.

On Friday, he returned with another new banger titled, “To The Top.” Turning the auto-tune all the way up, the rapper delivers a more moody vibe on this one where he dives into the hardships that he’s faced and the resilience that’s helped him push through those difficult times.

Armoney Rose Taps The Game For “Baddest In The World”

Detroit’s Armoney Rose hasn’t released an album since 2019’s Armoney Experience. However, the recent slew of singles he’s released have been promising. Back in April, the singer unleashed his smooth single, “Baddest In The World” which has continued to make rounds and bubble up on streaming platforms and YouTube. He’s keeping the momentum high with a brand new remix of the record with an additional verse from The Game. Rose’s moody vocals complement the atmospheric production while The Game blitzes through his verse detailing the meaning of ride-or-die love. “You gon’ ride for me, ain’t gotta die for me/ My opps is my opps, don’t cry for me,” he raps on the record.

Mia Khalifa & Her Husband Suddenly Walk Away From Two-Year Marriage

Former pornstar and long-documented Washington Wizards fan Mia Khalifa recently hit Instagram and Twitter to share some sad news with her nearly 30 million followers. A little after a month following the celebration of their two-year anniversary, Mia Khalifa and her husband, Los Angeles chef Robert Sandberg, have publicly announced that their marriage is over.

Both Mia and Robert have shared a touching graphic to their respective social media accounts that shows a picture of their shadows juxtaposed against a lengthy statement explaining their split.

“We can confidently say we gave it our all in making our marriage work, but after almost a year of therapy and efforts, we are walking away knowing we have a friend for life in each other, and that we truly tried,” the newly separated couple writes in their joint statement. “We will always love and respect each other because we know that not one isolated incident caused our split, but rather, a culmination of unresolvable, fundamental differences that no one can blame the other for.”

The statement continues, “We are closing this chapter with no regrets and both starting our own, separately, but connected through incredible family, friends, and love for our dogs. This has been long overdue, but we’re glad we took our time and gave it our all, and can walk away saying we tried our absolute hardest.

Coi Leray Claps Back At Trolls After Rolling Loud Set

It is officially Rolling Loud season. This weekend marked the return of the Miami-based hip-hop festival which drew massive crowds and even bigger names.

Artists like Travis Scott, Lil Durk, and Lil Baby all hit the stage this weekend along with some budding new faces. Though the aforementioned rappers had no problem shutting down the festival, there were a few other acts who didn’t receive the same energy from the audience.

Coi Leray hit the stage yesterday where she delivered a slew of her bangers including “Attachments” alongside her boyfriend, Pressa. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the crowd was all that into what she had to offer. Coi became a trending topic on Twitter as people noticed the apparent “dead crowd” that was largely capturing video clips, rather than engaging with the artist.

This isn’t the first time Coi went viral off of a live performance and she seemingly brushed off the comments this time around, as well. The rapper hit Twitter with a message to those out here supporting her. “Just wanna say thank you for all the love I get. I’m so loved by so many people it blocks out the hate. You love me I love you. Forever,” she wrote.

Coi addressed the derogatory comments in a subsequent tweet, writing, “It’s about over 100 artist who performed on that lineup and all people wanna do is eat up my cack. Lol. Gotta love this shit fr I got good problems.”

Peep her response below.

6ix9ine Spotted Singing Along To Meek Mill Lyrics At 21 Savage Performance

Tekashi 6ix9ine has continued to keep up his trolling ways in an attempt to reproduce the type of viral content that helped put him on. Though it did work for a while, plenty of his adversaries have opted out of responding to 6ix9ine, even when he disrespects family members. Over the past few months, Tekashi 6ix9ine has continued to antagonize Meek Mill. Though Meek did play a significant role in their initial back-and-forth, the Philly rapper hasn’t said anything recently.

While most rappers are in Miami this weekend for Rolling Loud festivities, it looks like 6ix9ine was largely trying to catch a vibe. The rapper was spotted in the club this weekend where 21 Savage was performing. He was largely in the cut alongside his manager and a few others but fans caught footage of 6ix9ine vibing out. Despite his issues with Meek, it appears that 6ix9ine still can’t get enough of his verse on Nav’s “Tap.” Tekashi was singing along to Meek’s bars with a smile on his face.

Though 6ix9ine’s career has dwindled, it’s possible that we might see him jump into the recent trend of celebrity boxing matches. The rapper has been training and already received a challenge to enter the ring from Jake Paul.

Check out the clip of Tekashi 6ix9ine below.
