Shekinah Jo Wants Sabrina Peterson’s Lawsuit Against T.I. & Tiny Tossed: Report

Earlier this year, Shekinah Jo Andersonentangled herself in the legal dispute between Sabrina Peterson, T.I.,  and Tameka “Tiny” Harris. In an attempt to defend the famous musical couple from the accusations laid by Peterson back in January, Shekinah got on video and stated, “[Peterson] wants Tiny. She obsessed with Tiny. She wants Tiny to be her girlfriend.” Shekinah also added fuel to the fire by saying, “Ask her what was going on when she was in the threesomes and foursomes. What about when she used to go get and recruit the hoes for ’em?”

A representative for T.I. and Tiny would later issue a statement denying the claims made about the couple. “Mr. and Mrs. Harris want to be on record and more importantly want the public to know they emphatically deny in the strongest way possible the egregiously appalling allegations being made against them by Sabrina Peterson. The Harrises have had difficulty with this woman for well over a decade. They are taking this matter very seriously,” they stated.

Later, Peterson filed a defamation lawsuit against T.I., Tiny, and Shekinah, citing that her reputation was allegedly smeared due to the scandal and because of remarks made by the trio. However, Radar Online reports that newly filed court documents show that Shekinah is demanding that the lawsuit filed by Peterson be tossed.

Her lawyer reportedly wrote, “Ms. Anderson’s alleged speech concerned public, criminal allegations that Ms. Peterson levied via social media, and in the traditional media, against mutual acquaintances the Harrises, who are international celebrities, and whose reputations and sexual conduct were put in issue in a public forum by Ms. Peterson.”

It was also noted that Shekinah doesn’t believe that Peterson can prove that the comments were “made in malice” and damaged her reputation because, in fact, Peterson’s following increased following the scandal. “Ms. Peterson increased her celebrity and social media following by ~100,000 people,” Anderson’s lawyer continued. Peterson has yet to respond.

Cardi B Finds It ‘Itchy’ That Some People Say They Don’t Shower

Social media often has a revolving door of trending topics, but there are those few moments where something comes out of left field. An example of that has been the recent uptick in celebrities admitting to rather unusual shower routines. It all started when Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher said they only bathe their children when “you can see the dirt on them.” Kristen Bell chimed in afterward and revealed she’s a “big fan of waiting for the stink. Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up.” Jake Gyllenhaal later deemed bathing to be “less necessary, at times.”

The entire ordeal has left many with questions for their friends and favorite celebrities. This includes Cardi B who took to Twitter to share her reaction to those who don’t shower on a daily basis. “Wassup with people saying they don’t shower ?” she wrote with an arched eyebrow emoji, before adding, “It’s giving itchy.”

Cardi’s concerns are akin to that of many other people, but for what it’s worth, fans of The Rock and Jason Momoa can rest knowing that the actors are all for a good scrub to begin and/or end their day. The former pointed out that he’s “the opposite of a ‘not washing themselves’ celeb” as he showers three times a day in addition to exfoliating and singing “off key” in the shower. Momoa, on the other hand, had a simple response when he was asked about his shower routine. “I’m not starting any trends. I shower, trust me,” he replied. “I’m Aquaman. I’m in the f*cking water. Don’t worry about it. I’m Hawaiian. We got saltwater on me. We good.”

Bonnaroo Says Proof Of Vaccination Or A Negative COVID-19 Test Will Be Required For Its Festival

Bonnaroo ran into a lot of trouble setting up the follow-up to their 2019 festival. The pandemic prevented organizers from hosting the showcase on the originally planned weekend of June 11-14, 2020. At first they delayed to September of that year, but they were soon forced to postpone until June 2021…before pushing it back for a third time, to September 2-5, 2021. Thankfully, the showcase will go as planned this year, but attendees will not be able to enter the venue without adhering to a new rule.

On Tuesday, the Tennessee-based festival announced new requirements for the showcase. “The safety of our patrons and staff is our number one priority,” organizers wrote in a statement. “As such a full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test will be required to attend Bonnaroo 2021.” This is the same rule that Chicago’s Lollapalooza implemented last month for their 2021 festival. “Bonnaroo strongly encourages vaccination,” the festival added. “The last day to receive the second shot of Moderna or Pfizer, or a single dose of Johnson and Johnson is Thursday, August 19th.”

For those who follow Bonnaroo’s new policy, they’ll be able to enjoy an impressive lineup that includes Tyler, the Creator, Young Thug, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby, Run the Jewels, Kevin Gates, Tame Impala, J.I.D, and more.

Jim Jones Addresses Wack 100 & 6ix9ine Drama: “I Put A Whole Coast On”

One thing is for sure: Tekashi 6ix9ine knows how to stir the pot. After ranting about Jim Jones and Mel Matrix on Clubhouse days ago, social media drama erupted. 6ix9ine wanted to know why the Dipset icon wasn’t behind bars for allegedly calling for the controversial rapper to be “violated,” and Wack 100 reportedly added his voice to the conversation by demanding Jones provide paperwork that he isn’t a snitch.

Jones has been enjoying the days following his monumental appearance on Verzuz as Dipset and The LOX celebrated their catalogs with the world, so it is understandable that when he surfaced on Clubhouse to address the accusations against him, he was a tad frustrated, to say the least.

“I stand tall for everything I believe in. I always have. No matter what,” said Jones. “I’ve been around this whole world. F*ck the country, n*gga. Rockin’ my same colors. Can’t nobody tell me anything, n *gga. You know how we move in New York City, n*gga. I put a whole coast on. I let a whole coast eat. I put this sh*t in the sky, n*gga. The same way Snoop [Dogg] put the sh*t in the sky, I put the sh*t in the sky, n*gga.”

Another person on the panel criticized Wack 100 for moving “like bloggers by bringing up cases.” Jim thought that was a “good point” but contested that Wack is “trying to bring down powerful Black men that are in positions to help other powerful Black men.” Jones contended that his main goal has been to help Black communities. He listed off his various investments and stated, “No matter how people look at it… I put as many people on as possible.”

The rapper added that he no longer is on the “narrative that I was on when I was younger,” because he’s making smarter moves these days. “So, for me to get on here and feed into some bullsh*t, I feel like I’m going ten steps backwards. And that’s not why I got on this platform, nor would I get on a platform with anybody that associates themselves with anybody that’s a f*ckin’ rat. Period.”

50 Cent Believes DaBaby Will Bounce Back: “They Tried To Cancel Chris Brown”

A handful of artists have stood by DaBaby’s side during his recent controversy and 50 Cent is one of them. It was about a month ago when 50 Cent said he was committed to mentoring the North Carolina rapper and despite the recent scandal brought on by DaBaby’s homophobic remarks and subsequent apologies, the Power mogul believes that this too will pass.

“He is a really talented, special artist, right?” Fif began. “And he just transitioned from being in that pool that everyone’s in as a Rap artist. Like, they didn’t notify him that he’s turning into a superstar.”

“There’s nobody that tells you, ‘Now, you’re held to these standards,’ that are mainstream standards that you can’t say things and you can’t do these different things,” 50 Cent continued. “He didn’t have a publicist involved and this is why the response took so long. Even his apology, the first apology attempt at it, was what made it worse. You know what it is? When a person makes a general statement, ’cause he made a general statement on stage, he’s not directing that to any individual, but what happens is he’s still new and he’s being attacked by individuals.”

Fif mentioned how people like Madonna, Elton John, and Questlove directly spoke to or referenced DaBaby in public responses. “DaBaby is taken back by who’s specifically is saying this to him. It’s tough for you to not assess them when you see them as royalty or important people and they personally are attacking you,” said Fif. “They’re saying something about DaBaby. He never said anything about any of them.”

“He’s only two years into his career. There’s no artist development. There’s no strong A&R in this. There’s definitely no media training.” 50 Cent is confident that DaBaby can “bounce back” from the scandal, adding: “Remember they tried to cancel Chris Brown five or six times.”

T-Pain Laments Over Artists Only Receiving 12 Percent Of Labels $17Bil Profit

There were plenty of gems delivered during T-Pain’s conversation on Drink Champs. The music icon has seen it all in the nearly two decades since he began his monumental career takeover back in the early 2000s, including the shift in the industry as social media has helped aspiring artists pave their own paths. While several artists have shared their stories of building their brands and fortunes by remaining independent—like Russ—others have opted to go the regular route by signing deals with labels.

These contracts have caused many artists, especially rappers, to call out their labels for alleged shady dealings and we’re seeing an increasing number of performers publicly asking for their label contracts to be severed. “Labels made $17 billion last year,” said T-Pain. “You know how much artists made of that? Twelve percent. Twelve percent! All artists!”

“I don’t know if you’ve been on the ‘Discovery’ page of Spotify lately,” he continued. “It’s a lot of f*ckin’ artists right now.” Someone added that there are “more artists than ever” in the current state of the music industry. T-Pain couldn’t help but laugh. “There’s more artists than chairs in the world right now,” the auto-tune icon joked.

“We outnumber these motherf*ckers and it’s easier than ever to be your own label now. And ****s is still choosing to spend somebody else’s money because it’s just hard to spend your own money.”

It has long been shared that artists don’t make real money from labels because most if not all of the money they receive in their advances has to be paid back. Check out T-Pain on Drink Champs below and let us know if you think it is still worth it for an up-and-coming artist to ink a record deal.

United Airlines Requires Staff To Be Vaccinated Unlike Southwest, Delta, & American

Companies are enforcing new rules as it pertains to the COVID-19 vaccine now that variants are causing growing concerns. People who have yet to receive the vaccine are reportedly at the greatest risk, while those who are vaccinated aren’t free and clear of avoiding the Delta variant of coronavirus. As global citizens are traveling by the millions now that airlines are open once again, it has been reported that United Airlines is taking precautions by requiring all of their employees to get vaccinated before October.

United, a company that employs 67,000 people, stands alone in their decision as it is reported that Southwest, American, and Delta Airlines will not require their staff to receive the vaccine. The three airlines have been hit with a firestorm of backlash as the vaccine debate carries on.

Frontier Airlines also said that their employees need to be vaccinated as well, however, if a staff member chooses not to, they will reportedly endure “regular” COVID tests. “We know some of you will disagree with this decision to require the vaccine for all United employees,” United CEO Scott Kirby and President Brett Hart reportedly told employees. “The facts are crystal clear: everyone is safer when everyone is vaccinated.”

According to the Associated Press, United doesn’t have any plans to require passengers to be vaccinated as they are leaving that up to government officials. They boast that 90 percent of their pilots and 80 percent of their flight attendants have received the vaccine. “Each employee will have to send an image of their vaccine card to the company. Those who don’t will be terminated, with exemptions granted only for employees who document religious or health reasons for not getting the shots,” AP reports.

People have taken to social media to assert that they will no longer fly Delta, Southwest, or American Airlines until those companies make stricter rules for the vaccine. Check out a few reactions below.

Future Accused Of Texting Son That His Mother Brittni Is A “Hoe”

Rappers and the mothers of their children don’t always get along, and often, they take their grievances to social media. It seems as if Future has been embroiled in drama involving one or more of the mothers of children for years, from Ciara to Eliza Reign to Brittni Mealy, and the latter shared screenshots of an alleged exchange between the rapper and their son, Prince Wilburn, that raised eyebrows.

Brittni popped up on her Instagram Story with the messages and she was so upset that she didn’t even censor her ex’s phone number. Fans are already having fun with that.

The exchange begins with what looks to be Prince sending a crying emoji to Future, then the rapper responds, “Tell your mom.” The child responds, “Tell my mom what” and Future replies, “Buy u some clothes.” After Prince writes “Dad,” the rapper looks to reply, “Your mom is a hoe!” Fans aren’t convinced that it was truly Future behind the messages.

Brittni shared another screenshot of the name-calling text and added, “Child Abuse” to another slide on her Story. Some people pointed out that she deleted the post that showed the phone number and changed the name to “Dad1.” Future hasn’t addressed this controversy, but this isn’t the first time these two have gone at it.

Back in December 2020 at their son’s birthday party, Brittni accused Future of saying “f*ck him” when speaking about their son. She went on a rant about her ex but later, praised his parenting. Check out the latest from these two below.

Rick Ross And G Herbo Will Headline The Nobody’s Home Festival In Support Of Cannabis Law Awareness

A number of rappers have stepped into the marijuana industry, among them Jay-Z, G-Eazy, Ice Cube, and Russ, at a time when recreational weed use has become increasingly legal across the nation. It’s not just about making it easier for people to get high. There’s been a push to alter past penalties given to those were placed in prison when it was still widely illegal. And ot raise awareness for this idea, some in Michigan have decided to start a new music festival.

Former NBA player Al Harrington’s Village, who is responsible the largest conglomerate of black-owned cannabis brands in the United States, is starting Nobody’s Home, a hip-hop festival on September 4 to bring awareness to marijuana laws. City Girls Are Still Crossing Their Fingers For Nicki Minaj Collab

Bia couldn’t believe that Nicki Minaj wanted to hop on the remix to her “Whole Lotta Money” hit, especially considering the acclaimed New York rapper doesn’t just collaborate with anyone. Lil Nas x has been trying to snag himself a Nicki verse since he officially revealed that he was a Barb, just like several others in the industry who are hoping to one day lay a track with the Queen artist.

Yet, there are those who often find themselves ensnared in drama for their less than favorable comments about Minaj, including the City Girls who were faced with a scandal after there was reportedly leaked audio that surfaced in 2019 of JT going off about women in Rap while undermining Nicki’s success.

The City Girls’ friendship and collaboration with Cardi B didn’t help any at the time, but now that all of the women have put the pettiness behind them, the Florida Rap duo are looking forward to one day working with Minaj. While sitting down with GQ‘s Me Actually series, JT and Yung Miami went “undercover” online and answered questions from fans.

“Where is the Nicki collab?” JT read before answering, “We’re hoping for in the future, seriously.” She also addressed naysayers by adding, “A lot of people try to make fun of it like ‘Ah, you’re never gonna get your feature,’ but you never know what can happen.” Some fans took that as a hint of what’s to come while others still don’t believe it will come together.
