TEC Shares His Latest Single “Part Of Me”

Over the years, T.E.C. and Maine Musik have planted their flag in the South, along with the SpiderNation imprint. The two have carved out their own lane to carry on the traditions of the artists that came before them, like the Boosie Badazz’s and Kevin Gates’.

T.E.C has continued to deliver heat with every single release this year including his most recent release, “Part Of Me.” The rapper brings his pain to the fold as he details his rise in the music industry while still facing personal problems. The song opens up with a pitched-up and filtered R&B sample before T.E.C offers smooth melodies and reflecting on trying to keep his head up in tough times.

Check out the latest from T.E.C. below.

Quotable Lyrics
Trapped in the trenches, bumpin’ Boosie with a QP to my name
Now my team depend on me, I’m a QB in the game
Shawty, pardon me
Why you keep makin’ it so hard to leave?

GSO Phat & Yungeen Ace Team Up On “Mask On”

GSO Phat has been one of the most promising new voices to emerge out of Mississippi in the past few months. While there has been plenty of talent coming out of the state in recent times, Phat is from Natchez, a city just outside of Jackson. He’s been holding it down for the streets with every banger he’s unveiled. Ultimately, this led to his deal with Cash Money Records and it looks like he’s preparing to become the next star to break out on the label.

This week, GSO Phat slid through with a brand new banger titled, “Mask On” ft. Yungeen Ace. The two artists team up over smooth, blues-inspired trap production. GSO Phat comes through swinging with confidence at the top of the record before Yungeen Ace brings ferocity through his sing-rap flows.

Check the record out below.

Quotable Lyrics
He must don’t know how I slang around
Fuck this rap, I’ll gun him down
Press on ’em, make no sound
Shots fired, man down

Gucci Mane & Big Scarr Go Off The Dome On “Freestyle”

In the past five years since Gucci Mane’s release from prison, he’s released several books, even more projects, got married, had a child, and is now re-establishing the 1017 empire. Though the previous roster that he established a few years ago has seemingly dissolved, the New 1017, as he calls it, is looking to reclaim the sound of the streets.

On Friday, Gucci Mane delivered his latest body of work, The New 1017 which largely plays out like a compilation album highlighting the many talents under his umbrella. Big Scarr and Gucci Mane unite for their new collab, “Freestyle.” With production handled by Bandplay, Gucci Mane and Big Scarr tackle the flute-laden production with triumph and glory as they recount their rags-to-riches stories.

Quotable Lyrics
Uh, whoa, bitch, I got more Power than Ghost
Have a champagne shower, let’s toast
Celebrate for the days we was broke
Told ’em I’mma make it out the hood
They took me as a joke (nah, I’m the GOAT)
Be like, ‘Scarr, you know you ain’t no rapper
How you do it, though?’

Kyrie Irving Spotted Playing Pick-Up Football In New Jersey

Kyrie Irving is currently out of the Brooklyn Nets roster due to his refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Now, his teammates are waiting in limbo to see if he will return, and for now, it looks like he will not be changing his mind in the slightest. This is bad news for the Nets, as it means they will not have their point guard to start the season. They will now have to rely on Kevin Durant and James Harden for everything, which will create an interesting dynamic as the season goes on.

According to TMZ, Kyrie is still enjoying life right now, as he was recently spotted in New Jersey, where he and some friends played pick-up football at a local high school. Irving can be seen doing so in the footage below, and overall, it looks like a pretty great time for everyone involved.

This past week, Irving was seen on Instagram Live where he explained his stance on the vaccine and how he is simply standing up for others. This take has been criticized by fans and pundits, including the likes of Stephen A. Smith, who was quite vocal about Kyrie and the “selfishness” that comes with his decision.

It remains to be seen what Kyrie will do here, although no matter what, there is no denying that he has upset a lot of people with his personal decision.

Beyoncé & Jay-Z List Their New Orleans Mansion For $4.45 Million

Jay-Z and Beyoncé have listed their New Orleans mansion for sale, TMZ reports. The 7-bedroom, 8-bathroom home takes up 13,292 square feet, and has been priced at $4,450,000.

The Carter mansion has been around since 1925, and was originally built a Presbyterian church. The listing says that “a Grammy winner” once said, “I did my best writing ever, while watching the sunset from the rooftop garden. Although they don’t specify a name, both Queen B and Jay meet the criteria.

The house spans 3 stories and features 26-foot ceilings and Spanish baroque architecture. Within the one main residence, you’ll find three separate apartments, each of which are approximately 1,000 square feet. TMZ notes that as an added bonus for whoever purchases the property, the house will be painted exactly to their liking prior to the deal’s closure.

Just three months ago, the New Orleans home caught on fire, the outbreak has since been classified as “simple arson” and lasted a little longer than two hours. It’s unclear exactly what sort of condition the mansion was in after the fire, but we’re sure that the Carters had it well-cleaned before it hit the market.

In other news, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been spending more time in the public eye as of late. The pair usually like to keep to themselves, although they were spotted attending a luxurious Italian wedding, featuring Kanye West as a performer over the weekend.

Jay also recently went viral after an especially wholesome clip of him running into Kelly Rowland at a movie premiere began making rounds on Twitter.

Young Thug, Summer Walker & Adele Lead This Week’s “R&B Season” Playlist

The final quarter of 2021 is looking strong. The pandemic undoubtedly caused plenty of rappers and artists to put the release of new music on hold until the world was opened up. Things have opened up and there’s been an influx of incredible music, both in hip-hop and R&B, that emerged in recent times. This past Friday was no exception. With the abundance of new music that dropped, we’ve highlighted the best of the best for this week’s R&B Season playlist.

Young Thug might not be your typical “R&B artist” but his ability to transcend genres is what makes him so special. This week, he dominated the playlist with three new cuts off of his latest opus including “Die Slow” ft. Strick, Recognize Real ft. Gunna, and “Livin It Up” ft. A$AP Rocky and Post Malone.

Summer Walker is also preparing for the release of her sophomore album, Still Over It. Fans have been longing for this one ever since she dropped her major-label debut. On Friday, she gave fans a taste of what’s to come with the release of “Ex For A Reason” ft. JT of the City Girls.

A new album from Adele is officially on the way. The UK singer dropped off her first single in five years with “Easy On Me” off of her forthcoming album, 30. It was only right that we included it on this week’s playlist.

Other inclusions for this week’s playlist are Pink $weats’ “I Feel Good” and Lauren Jauregui’s “Scattered” ft. Vic Mensa.
