Chris Brown Flames Kanye West’s Latest Hairstyle

Chris Brown’s still unforgiving towards Kanye West, it seems. Since the Chicago listening party of Donda, Chris Brown’s made it clear that he’s not exactly pleased with having his parts on “New Again” edited off of the project. However, his latest attack on the Chicago rapper proved that he’s going to remain petty about it.

After Kanye West debuted his puzzling new hairstyle, Breezy turned ‘Ye into the subject of a roast-fest on his Instagram Story. Brown shared a photo of ‘Ye’s patchy new hairstyle, calling it the “f*cked up worldwide fade.”

“N***a wanna make the ‘what the fuck’ in style,” Breezy continued. “He got the punishment haircut.”

Kanye West and Chris Brown have had their differences in the past but they make undeniable hits when they’re together. “New Again,” which Breezy initially featured on, underwent several changes before the album’s release, and even after it. Chris called Kanye a “h*e” for removing him from the version of Donda played in Chicago, though his parts were included on the DSP version. That is until the end of September when people notice several changes on the album including Chris Brown being entirely removed from the song.

No word on whether Kanye West has caught wind of Chris Brown’s recent shots but we can’t imagine he’d be too upset about it.

Donald Trump Slams Colin Powell In Response To His Death

Donald Trump lambasted the late former Secretary of State, Colin Powell, following his death earlier this week. The former President remarked that Powell failed to stay loyal to the Republican party, and also criticized his handling of the Iraq war.

“Wonderful to see Colin Powell, who made big mistakes on Iraq and famously, so-called weapons of mass destruction, be treated in death so beautifully by the Fake News Media,” Trump wrote in an email to supporters. “Hope that happens to me someday. He was a classic RINO, if even that, always being the first to attack other Republicans. He made plenty of mistakes, but anyway, may he rest in peace!”

Powell is seen as a highly controversial figure in American politics for his justification of the Iraq War in 2003. He helped the George Bush administration facilitate the lie that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction by arguing that Hussein could develop nuclear weapons and already had access to biological weapons at the United Nations Security Council.

Powell also served as the National Security Advisor under Ronald Reagan, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under George H. W. Bush.

“Fresh Prince” Reboot Star Adrian Holmes Allegedly Involved In Fatal Car Accident

Monday was undoubtedly a rough day for Wrecked actor Adrian Holmes, and the John Doe who he allegedly ran over and killed. According to TMZ, the Canadian star was driving southbound of the 110 freeway in downtown Los Angeles when he hit an unidentified man who happened to be lying down in his lane.

Sources told the gossip site that Holmes couldn’t avoid hitting the man, and unfortunately, neither could the person driving behind him, who also struck the John Doe with his vehicle, sending his body into the adjacent lane, where it was hit by yet another car.

The injuries sustained by the individual were fatal, and cops are currently looking into what may have prompted him to lay down on a busy L.A. highway in the first place. None of the drivers involved are believed to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, although we can’t say the same for the deceased as of yet.

Holmes has starred in several shows and movies over the years, including the Netflix original series, V Wars, in which he played the role of a blood-hungry vampire, starring alongside Iam Somerhalder.

The Canadian actor has also been cast as Uncle Phil in the upcoming Fresh Prince reboot, which (unfortunately for fans of the original) won’t star Will Smith, but is being executive produced by him. The latest edition is reportedly more dramatic than its predecessor, and will feature a completely new cast of actors, including Jabari Banks, Cassandra Freeman, and Coco Jones.

Summer Walker’s “Still Over It”: Everything We Know

Summer Walker easily commands R&B’s attention with any and all hints of new music, no matter how small the morsel is. With her moody vocals, introspective lyrics, and uniquely alluring sound, Summer has found a sweet spot, suspended somewhere between tender self-reflection and carnal desire. Her enigmatic public presence continues to draw listeners into her world; it’s clear that Summer bares her soul in her music,  standing firm in her womanhood through and through.

Listeners were quick to engulf themselves in the sounds of her debut mixtape Last Day Of Summer back in 2018, an immersive, vulnerable meditation on the now-25-year-old’s experiences in love and life. Summer’s debut albumOver It came a year afterward, further enrapturing fans with her honest lyrics, hushed yet powerful vocals, and sultry, slow-groove sound. It’s been a year now since she released her latest body of work Life on Earth, an EP released smack-dab in the middle of the pandemic. For months, Summer fans have been grappling with the prospect of a new album. Then came the announcement.

Earlier this month, Summer confirmed the upcoming drop of her sophomore project Still Over It with a picture of two jerseys the Atlanta Falcons had gifted her, reading “S. Walker” and “Hard Drive” with the numbers “11” and “05,” respectively. A teaser for the album dropped soon afterward, officially announcing the project’s release at the top of next month, on November 5th. Since then, it’s been hints on hints, teasers on teasers. Over It quickly returned to the top of the charts. Summer’s name has speckled trending pages across social media. Fans have thoroughly flooded her comments.

Summer has the world in a chokehold, and with November 5th just around the bend, we’re here to examine everything we know about the album so far.

Everyone’s been waiting on her album, even her parents

It’s clear that fans have been waiting on Summer’s new music for a while now, and social media hasn’t let her hear the end of it. According to a caption on one of her posts, her parents haven’t either. “I get cussed out everyday in my DMs ‘bout the whereabouts of this album. My own parents don’t even ask me how I’m doing, just straight to where’s the album,” she joked on Instagram a month ago.

Summer first announced her upcoming sophomore album right after being barred from entering the BET Hip-Hop Awards

On October 1st, Summer made her first real announcement for her sophomore album, beginning with a video posted to Twitter from what appears to be the parking lot of the BET Awards. “I was super excited to go to the BET Hip-Hop Awards today, but they wouldn’t let me in due to COVID restrictions. I had such a pretty dress and everything,” she says in the video. The songstress had been barred from entering the building for not being vaccinated. “But it’s fine. BET love me, I still love BET.

“I was gonna talk about some stuff on the red carpet,” she continues, “so I decided to pull up anyway.” The camera then pans to the written announcement just behind her, the words “Summer Walker Album #2 Coming November” projected onto the side of a building in pink lettering.

She offered her first hint at the project’s release date by posting a picture of two custom jerseys the Atlanta Falcons had gifted her– one donning the month and the other donning the date

In early October, Summer first confirmed the album release date on Instagram, posting a photo of two Atlanta Falcons jerseys the team had custom-made for her and her mother. Summer and her family are, after all, from Atlanta, and she had apparently attended a Falcons game the day the jerseys were posted.

Earlier that afternoon, Summer playfully shared a video of her strapping her hard drive into the car’s backseat on the way to the game, and she promoted her album on the jumbotron as the Falcons played. In the photos posted later that night, one jersey read “S. Walker” with the number 11; the other read “Hard Drive” with the number 5. Fans were quick to piece two and two together: the album is slated for release on November 5th. This would be a mere sneak peek into the rollout Summer and her label, marketing pioneers LVRN, had, and still have, in store for us.

Summer and JT’s song together, the upbeat second track “Ex For A Reason,” dropped a few days ago, followed by the music video

The official video teaser for the new album was released on Summer’s Instagram on the October 4th anniversary of her debut release, Over It. In the teaser, Summer also revealed the title of the album, Still Over It. The title obviously references Over It, and with the teaser also hearkening back to Over It‘s Baby Boy-inspired visuals, there may be a few ongoing themes bridging the two albums.

In the video, Summer and City Girl JT exchange some words over the phone, confirming a collaboration that dropped this past Friday (October 15). Together, they released “Ex For A Reason”, their spunky and unfiltered letter to an ex– the first track Summer has shared off the project and the second song on the album’s tracklist.

The song’s visual dropped the morning of October 19, and features Summer and JT as they get ready for a house party with a group of girlfriends. Watch the video below.

The project also includes a feature from Ciara, and is speculated to include artists SZA, Ari Lennox, Lil Durk, Pharrell, Sean Garrett, and more

A few months ago, a video was released on social media hinting at a collaboration between Summer and legendary music multi-hyphenates Pharrell and Sean Garrett. In the clip, the three are caught steeped in their process, laughing around a living room setup.

Summer also confirmed collaborations with fellow genre-bending R&B singer SZA, Dreamville singer-songwriter Ari Lennox, and Chicago rap pioneer Lil Durk in an Instagram story posted back in August.

“Riding round listening to this album, can’t choose which is my favorite song,” she teased her fans. “It’s between Durk, SZA, and Ari fr. They all so good.”

Summer has also released photos of her in the studio with singer-songwriter Omarion, though that partnership hasn’t been confirmed for the album.

Beyond the speculation, however, she put out a preview of the Still Over It tracklist on Twitter last week, naming “Bitter” and “Ex For A Reason” as the album’s first and second songs respectively, and confirming a feature from Ciara, who will apparently narrate the last track of the album, entitled “Ciara’s Prayer.” Each song on the tracklist includes a date behind it–beginning with “Bitter,” which the tracklist associates with the date 8/4/2019– alluding that the album tells a story that took place over the last two years.

“‘Still over it’ is a story… and every story has its beginning!” Summer’s caption on her Twitter post reads.

Her fans weren’t impressed with “Ex For A Reason”, though Summer states she did not have the final say when it came to the first single

After dropping “Ex For A Reason” on Friday, Summer faced backlash from her longtime listeners on social media. Based on their tweeted opinions and reactions, fans were disappointed to hear such an upbeat song lead the project, expecting her slow and sultry sound and lyrical chops characterizing fan favorites like “Session 32” and “Girls Need Love.”

“They really could’ve kept ‘Ex For A Reason’ in the files,” one fan’s tweet reads. “Can’t get into this ‘Ex For A Reason’,” another fan tweeted. “Summer, next month you better knock me out my socks with the rest of these 19 songs!”

Summer was quick to respond to the critics. “Stop @-ing me. The first song I wanted to release was called ‘Toxic’, but we’re here now,” she captioned a selfie posted to her Instagram story yesterday. “I had no say in making this decision, so let’s move past it now.”

Regardless, the song debuted at #1 on the Apple Music US R&B and Soul charts for two consecutive days, and #72 on the Spotify US Daily charts with over 372,000 streams on its first day. At this point, fans are just waiting on the rest of the project.

Ro.lexx shot her album cover

In the caption for a video posted to Instagram a few weeks ago, Summer announced that she was spending time on set with photographer Ro.lexx, who has shot for the likes of Maria Isabel, Khalid, Billie Eilish, and Bryson Tiller. The video documents an especially adorable moment between their two babies. According to the caption, Ro.lexx was shooting Summer’s Still Over It album cover that day. Unfortunately, we won’t see the results of that shoot until we get closer to the release date.

The star of the Still Over It album rollout is her humorously personified hard drive

Two weeks ago, Summer announced the official completion of the album, keeping the project’s rollout moving by creating an Instagram account for her hard drive, @SummersHardDrive. The account is meant to be home to all of Summer’s Still Over It updates. The bejeweled hard drive–which Summer jokingly adorned with a pair of lashes in a clip by artist and Youtuber Unghetto Mathieu– has been a distinctive prop throughout the rollout.

Yesterday (October 18), Summer posted to the account that she had set up encased copies of the hard drive in two New York locations. If fans are able to crack the cases, they can listen to the album early, and apparently, someone was able to smash the glass today (October 19), so we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled if the fan gets an early listen and divulges some hard drive secrets.

Indeed, listeners are recommended to pay attention to everything Summer posts on the account. Expect more album updates as the release date draws nearer.

India Royale Fires Back At Haters By Revealing How Much She Earns From Cosmetics

India Royale called out a fan on Twitter who claimed she lives off of Lil Durk’s success by revealing how much she earns from her cosmetics brand. Royale says she pulls in $40,000 per month from the beauty brand.

The interaction began when Royale posted a picture in honor of Durk’s birthday.

“Happy Late Sweetest Day Hun,” Royale wrote on Twitter, with a picture of Durk opening his gifts.

“Can’t wait to spoil my man with his own money,” a user wrote in response.

Royale fired back: “I make 40k per month off cosmetics that I don’t promote. Nice try though.”

While Royale may not promote her beauty products, Durk certainly does.

During his verse on Drake’s “In The Bible” off of Certifed Lover Boy, Durk rapped, “India Royale cosmetic, I’m just promotin’ my b*tch / Drake song do a billion streams for sure, I’m just promotin’ her sh*t.”

Durk, being the great partner that he appears to be, also promoted Royale’s products during one of Nicki Minaj’s recent live streams.

“Ima gone send you some of India cosmetics [blue heart] ima say it first,” he said in the comments.

Elijah McClain’s Family Have Reached A Settlement With The City Of Aurora, Colorado: Report

More than two years after his death, the family of Elijah McClain has finally reached a settlement with the city of Aurora, Colorado. As you may recall, the 23-year-old was stopped by police while walking home from the store, then injected with ketamine while being placed in a carotid hold.

“Nothing will bring back his son Elijah, who he loved dearly, but he is hopeful that this settlement with Aurora, and the criminal charges against the officers and medics who killed Elijah, will allow his family and the community to begin to heal,” Mari Newman, the attorney of Elijah’s father, LaWayne Mosley, told CNN.

The dollar amount of the settlement has yet to be disclosed, and will remain under wraps until the city signs the agreement, and an allocation process for the family is decided upon.

As CNN reports, Adams Country District Attorney Dave Young didn’t bring criminal charges against those involved in Elijah’s death, as he felt that prosecutors “lacked evidence” of unjustified force. With the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement in the summer of 2020, the young man’s story gained attention again, and a reexamination of the case was announced.

In September, a Colorado grand jury indicted two fire department paramedics and three police officers for their role in Elijah’s passing, all on charges of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. A 14-month investigation into the Aurora police was then launched, with the results showing they had a history of enforcing racially biased policing, using excessive force, and failing to record legally required information.

Soulja Boy Revs Up With “Who Want Smoke” Remix

Nardo Wick has been buzzing over the year, thanks to the release of “Who Want Smoke??” The single arrived in January but quickly picked up momentum and has been in steady rotation over the year. However, the song gained a new set of fans last month after Nardo Wick shared the official remix featuring Lil Durk, G Herbo, and 21 Savage.

It was inevitable that the song would end up receiving plenty of unofficial remixes and freestyles. This week, Soulja Boy, fresh off of his feud with NBA Youngboy’s fanbase, came through with a menacing take on Nardo Wick’s record as he fired back at his critics and opponents.

Check out Soulja Boy’s “Who Want Smoke With Me??” below and sound off on the comments on his take on the record.

Meek Mill & Giggs Link Up In London For The “Northside Southside” Video

The visual for Meek Mill and Gigg’s transatlantic banger “Northside Southside” has arrived, just weeks after the release of the former’s fifth studio album, Expensive Pain. According to Hip Hop N More, the filming of the video was the 34-year-old’s first time ever in London – he previously couldn’t cross the border due to legal issues.

He shot the video in Peckham with his collaborator. Several scenes shot in the middle of a street and a parkade show gangs of people crowded around the performers, watching them rap their track for the cameras.

“Shout out London fam,” Meek wrote on Instagram earlier today, providing his followers with an early sneak peek of the visual.

Fans have been loving “Northside Southside” for its grimey South London meets classic north Philly vibe. “Meek going hard with Giggs is just what we needed,” one viewer wrote on YouTube. “This one’s gonna be special Dam!!!! Giggs making history yet again,” another person added.

Earlier this month, the “Uptown Vibes” rapper also shared the video for his Expensive Pain track “Angels (RIP Lil Snupe),” in which he shows off some footage of his young child and pays tribute to his late friend.
