My Favorite Color Drops Off High-Flying Visuals For “MAYDAY”

When My Favorite Color started teasing the visuals for his latest single, “MAYDAY,” he included a message aimed directly at the one-and-only, Soulja Boy.

Speaking directly to the “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” rapper from the cockpit of an airplane, My Favorite Color let Big Soulja know that he was the first rapper to fly a plane.

Clowning Soulja Boy and the rest of us ground-based peons for our inability to pilot a jet around Los Angeles, My Favorite Color was giving us a first look at the “MAYDAY” video, which features the Pittsburgh rapper spitting everywhere from the comfort of his own couch, to the trunk of the kidnappers who snatched him right off the street.

After pulling us into the television static that is living in 2021, the “MAYDAY” visuals serve as a perfect counterpart to the song’s hectic lyrics and rapid pace. Bouncing from close-ups of the Pittsburgh rapper’s golden teeth, to an on-stage spotlight to the aforementioned airplane, My Favorite Color leads us from scene to scene, making sure to always check in with his Lacoste-sweater-and-N.E.R.D.-hat-clad, actual self.

With colorful blasts highlighting the track’s zany ad-libs, the “MAYDAY” video is yet another example of My Favorite Color’s dedication to providing enthralling and hilarious visuals to accompany each of his singles and is sure to keep fans locked in for whatever he drops next.

Check out the “MAYDAY” visuals and let us know what you think in the comments.

HVN Announces Upcoming Album & Drops Off New Song, “MARINE”

It’s been a big month for rapper HVN. The 23-year-old was featured alongside SoFaygo on “Smoke” on Don Toliver’s Life of a DON album, and now, he’s back with a track of his own. On Wednesday, October 27th, the Houston native dropped off “MARINE,” which sees him carrying raspy vocals over a glitchy, auto-tune beat.

“Marine single tonight, thank y’all for the love. It feel like all the dark times I went thru is making sense now,” HVN captioned an Instagram post from yesterday evening. Along with the new single, the artist also shared that he’s got a “full project” on the way this November.

Plenty of fans in the comments took time to gas up the artwork for “MARINE,” while others expressed their excitement for the newly announced project. “If the album gonna sound like this, we bout to get another Rodeo,” one listener predicted.

The last time HVN released a project was on Valentine’s Day of 2020 with Welcome to Heaven. The 7-track project saw just two features from Broadday BBY KODIE, and YGR, so it will be interested to see who, if anyone, he picks up for his sophomore release.

What are your thoughts on “MARINE”? Drop a comment and let us know.

Amy Winehouse Showed Her Appreciation For Hip-Hop With The Ghostface Killah-Assisted Remix Of “You Know I’m No Good”

Today, Amy Winehouse’s classic sophomore studio album, Back To Black, turns 15 years old. That 11-track record featured the critical and commercial juggernaut “Rehab” alongside many of her most beloved tracks, such as “Back to Black” and “Love Is a Losing Game.” As a result, today is the perfect time to celebrate the cultural impact of Back To Black.

Although Amy Winehouse’s output was mainly categorized as soul and jazz, the late singer did have an appreciation for Hip-Hop. Hardcore Winehouse fans will likely remember that she was actually a part of a rap group called Sweet ‘n’ Sour prior to breaking out as a world-renowned singer, but her affinity for Hip-Hop continued throughout her career. The Back To Black standout track “Me & Mr. Jones” is actually inspired by her friend and collaborator Nas, and at the beginning of the song, Amy even complains about the “fuckery” that had caused her to “miss the Slick Rick gig.”

Nas isn’t the only rapper who Amy Winehouse collaborated with, either. On one of the remixes to the Back To Black cut “You Know I’m No Good,” the late artist teamed up with Ghostface Killah, so in honor of Back To Black‘s 15-year anniversary, listen to the Ghostface Killah-assisted remix of “You Know I’m No Good” below.

Quotable Lyrics

Yo, I knew you was trouble when I first laid eyes on you
Temperature’s so hot, the heat just rise with you
Let me ride with you, talk about your mistakes
You cheated yourself but these are the breaks

Drake Flexes New Richard Mille Watch For His “Easy Money Year”

Drake is the Richard Mille king of hip-hop.

The Toronto rapper is no stranger to expensive watches — everybody knows that, but where some rappers are still rapping about Rolexes and Pateks Philippes, Drizzy has moved onto Richard Mille.

Just this year, The Six God gifted “Way 2 Sexy” collaborators Young Thug and Future custom Richard Milles for their respective birthdays, and there has been speculation that the Certified Lover Boy rapper was behind the yellow-banded Richard Mille Lil Durk received for his 29th birthday.

That’s a couple million dollars in watches. But when you’re Drake, what is a couple million dollars, really?

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images

Amid the current craze, with Cardi B, Offset, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and MoneyBagg Yo all giving or receiving Richard Milles within the last couple of months, Drake continues to stand out above the rest.

Following his 35th birthday and insane-looking, Cocaine Cowboy-themed bash in Los Angeles, Drizzy took to his IG story to flex yet another Richard Mille — this time, a model with multi-million dollar value.

Captioning the photo of the new watch, “Easy Money Year,” a nod to Kevin Durant’s Instagram handle, easymoneysniper, and his former jersey number, 35, Drake displayed the clear-cased, navy blue-accented Richard Mille for the world to see.

Whether the watch was a gift he received at his birthday party is unclear, but after seeing the double-sided chain that Thug brought to the table, and the trifecta of OVO owl chains Jas Prince gifted Drake, his father Dennis Graham, and his son Adonis, it would not come as a surprise if someone of great fame and stature gave Drizzy a new Richard Mille. (Looking at you, Future.)

On 2020’s “Life Is Good,” Drake rapped, “Virgil got the Patek on my wrist goin’ nuts,” and although it is yet to be seen if Mr. Abloh will be getting his hands on this watch, it looks like the multi-million dollar bezel on this clear Richard Mille can do front flips on its own.

What do you think of Drake’s new Richard Mille? Let us know in the comments.

Tristan Thompson Shares Sweet New Photos Of “Not So Little Anymore” True Thompson

Yesterday, NBA star Tristan Thompson took to Instagram to show off some new photos of his adorable family. “Let me love you a little more, before you are not so little anymore #MyEverything,” the 30-year-old captioned a photo dump of his 3-year-old daughter ,True, and his 4-year-old son, Prince.

In the pictures, the two kids can be seen smiling from ear to ear while posing in an arcade. From the looks of things, little True is following in the footsteps of her vertically inclined parents, as she looks very tall (especially for her age) in Thompson’s latest post.

The young girl’s mother, Khloe Kardashian, was quick to comment. “They are so beautiful and sweet!!!!! So so blessed!!! What angels!” Her sister Kim chimed in, writing, “I mean!!!!!!! I can’t handle these two cuties!!!!”

In the past, Kim and Thompson have dealt with some major personal beef when the former wasn’t impressed with the latter’s routine infidelity in his relationship with Khloe. It seems the two have since made up though, as the Canadian star shared a sweet birthday greeting to Kim last week.

“Happy Birthday to my future lawyer @kimkardashian, you’ve inspired a whole generation with your hard work, dedication and efforts. Soo proud of everything you’ve accomplished and it’s only the beginning. You got this Keeks! Enjoy your day,” he captioned a smiley selfie of the two former foes.

Rich Paul also showed love to True and Prince, commenting, “this is amazing,” while Preme pointed out True’s astounding height. “That can’t be Tru when she get so big,” the rapper wrote.

Lil Nas X’s Brother Flames Boosie’s Movie, Catalog & Alleged Net Worth

ver the weekend, Lil Nas X teased Boosie by claiming they have a song together. The innocuous gesture led Boosie to snap on Twitter, wishing suicide upon the “Montero” rapper accompanied by a slew of homophobic slurs.

Snoop Dogg Admits He Was ‘Out Of Pocket’ With His Eminem Feud

Hip-hop legends Eminem and Snoop Dogg found themselves in a brief quarrel earlier this year. It all started when Snoop gave his opinion on the 10 greatest MCs off all time, which decisively left Eminem off the list. Em responded with a line from his Music To Be Murdered By – Side B track “Zeus,” and the feud between the two escalated from there. Now that they’ve put their differences behind them and made up as friends and respected equals, Snoop now admits he was “out of pocket” with the whole ordeal.

Snoop recently appeared on The Breakfast Club for a lengthy interview about his new position as executive creative and strategic consultant at Def Jam Records, the recent passing of his mother, and, of course, his beef with Em. While Em did respond to Snoop’s snub with a diss track, the “Zeus” rapper admitted he was more offended by Snoop’s tone more than anything. “I think it was more about the tone he was using that caught me off-guard ‘cause I’m like, where is this coming from?” Em said about Snoop’s diss. “I just saw you, what the f*ck? It threw me for a loop. I probably could’ve gotten past the whole tone and everything, but it was the last statement where he said, ‘Far as music I can live without, I can live without that sh*t.’ Now you’re being disrespectful. It just caught me off-guard

In his Breakfast Club interview, Snoop acknowledged that he was “out of pocket” with the way he spoke about Em in public, revealing that he has since apologized to the fellow rapper:

“Man, I love Eminem and the thing is, we love hip-hop so much. We competitive, we battle rappers so that was supposed to trigger that in him. But we brothers and we family so we learn to appreciate each other for what we do and we had our own little conversation about the respect we have for each other and the way we need to talk in public about each other. I feel like I was out of pocket. I apologized to him and I let him know, and I’m just bettering myself. I make mistakes, I ain’t perfect — I’m Snoop Dogg.”

Latto Spits Over Yung LA’s “Ain’t I” For L.A. Leakers Freestyle

Amidst speculation that she and 21 Savage are an Atlanta item, Latto took it all the way to Los Angeles to prove her prowess on the mic.

After performing at the 2021 MTV VMAs, and receiving the “Queen of the A” crown from Savage himself, the “Big Energy” rapper stopped by Power 106 in L.A. for a hard-hitting L.A. Leakers Freestyle.

Following up Big Sean’s marathon performance for DJ Sour Milk and Justin Credible last week, Latto hopped on Yung LA’s “Ain’t I” instrumental and, after prefacing her freestyle with the claim that she’s the “queen of the South,” tore it up.

Rapping about everything from her body count to her prolific bank account, Latto skates all over the B-Franks-produced instrumental and backs up every brag with every bar hitting harder than the one before. Rapping about the come up from Goodwill to Girbaud jeans, Latto’s L.A. Leakers Freestyle is a real window into just how good of a rapper she is, without all of the social media noise clouding up judgement.

Quotable Lyrics
Y’all b*tches passed around, bust down, ain’t worth too much
This is a skeleton AP, but me I’m thick as f*ck
How the hell I’m pescatarian in a Lamb chop truck
But that’s besides the fact
How you big? But not the racks?
How you big? Can’t name a track
How you big? Can’t hang a plaque
