Young Dolph’s Artist Snupe Bandz Posts Alleged DMs With Soulja Boy

Prior to Young Dolph’s passing, Soulja Boy was antagonizing the Memphis legend on social media, responding to a claim made by the rapper about making over $100,000 per concert as an independent artist. Soulja called Dolph’s claims “cap” and proceeded to insult the rapper a few more times.

As the hip-hop community mourns the loss of one of the greatest of his generation, one of the artists signed to Dolph’s label Paper Route Empire, Snupe Bandz, is sharing his alleged direct messages with Soulja Boy on Instagram.

“Clout chasing bitch,” wrote Snupe to Soulja Boy, which prompted a reply from Big Draco.

“Sorry to hear bout yo big homie,” responded Soulja. “Cut all dis shit out. It’s uncalled for. This my last time saying it. Like I said I Fuk wit y’all Boys idk where all dis lame Shit come from. Y’all n***az couldn’t take a fucking bruh. Who gives a damn if y’all signed to empire wtf.”

He went on to say that he had quit trolling Dolph before the rapper passed away, and believes that his crew has placed him in an awkward position now.

“I’m done trolling wit y’all N***az I was done before that Shit even happen,” added Soulja. “But if y’all keep coming for Me we not standing down. I’m sorry to hear bout da shit I truly am. But y’all needa chill fr. Y’all put me in a weird ass position. And y’all gotta stand on that. U think I don’t wanna say rip dolph but how can when y’all N***az keep threatening me. Leon Bridges & Jazmine Sullivan Link Up For R&B Love Song, “Summer Rain”

Earlier this year, Leon Bridges dropped off his soulful R&B album, Gold-Diggers Sound. On November 17th, the 32-year-old returned with a deluxe edition, complete with a gorgeous duet – “Summer Rain” featuring Jazmine Sullivan.

Bridges’ smokey voice leads us into the track as he croons about the obvious connection between two people that belong together. Sullivan brings her signature strong vocals to her verse, on which she sings to her lover, “I don’t wanna make it out alive/‘Cause you, you are everything.”

Gold-Diggers Sound was first released back in July, and saw the Atlanta native team up with Robert Glasper on “Born Again,” Terrace Martin on “Sweeter,” and Ink on “Don’t Worry.” The deluxe tape only includes one new track, but with powerhouse vocalists like Sullivan and Bridges in the booth, that’s really all you need.

If you’re a fan of the “Pick Up Your Feelings” singer’s work, be sure to check out her incredible January 2021 album, Heaux Tales, as well as her recent collab with Rick Ross and 21 Savage, “Outlawz.”

Quotable Lyrics:

Forty days and forty nights
Wrapped in covers drenched in white
And it’s getting warmer like a sauna
I don’t wanna make it out alive
‘Cause you, you are everything

Big Sean & Hit-Boy Perform “What A Life” On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”

Big Sean and Hit-Boy have a strong working relationship.

After dropping their collaboration, “What A Life” and its bee-covered music video, Sean and Hit-Boy announced that a joint tape called What You Expect was on the way.

What You Expect turned out to be a five-song, hard-hitting EP celebrating the pair’s accomplishments, and painting a picture of what their collaborative future might look like.

Sean, who came under fire from Kanye West during West’s Drink Champinterview (Ye said signing Big Sean was the worst thing he ever did), recently announced that he had left G.O.O.D. Music and seemingly used his EP with Hit-Boy as a landmark of his departure. Last week, on an episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Sean said that Kanye can be hard to work with, and Hit-Boy added that the Donda rapper would make him re-do drums for a beat upwards of ten times, just to leave those same drums on the cutting room floor.

So while Sean and Hit-Boy have collectively expressed their displeasure with Ye, they have clearly grown closer together, and in a rousing performance of “What A Life” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the pair put their artistic chemistry on full display.

Rocking velvet suits and a whole lot of diamonds, Sean and Hit-Boy start out in the corner booth of a fine dining establishment, and end up center stage in front of Fallon’s studio audience.

Joe Biden Transferred POTUS Power To Kamala Harris During His Colonoscopy Today

Earlier today, Vice President Kamala Harris made history as the first woman to hold POTUS power in the history of the United States. The 57-year-old was not sworn in as President, but Joe Biden temporarily transferred decision making ability in his place while he was under anesthesia for a colonoscopy.

As TMZ notes, Harris was only wearing her presidential pants for 30-40 minutes, but it was still a big moment for America. For those who were wondering what the Oakland native did with her power, it appears not much – the gossip site reports that she was not out and about this morning.

Yesterday, however, was a busy day for the VP and Biden as they met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Lopez Obrador at the White House. Prior to his appointment this morning, the 78-year-old was spotted waving at reporters as he exited his car and entered Walter Reed Medical Center.

POTUS has made headlines several times this month, first at the COP26 meetings where he appeared to doze off in his chair, causing Donald Trump to promptly put him on blast. The second time was when Biden referred to baseball legend Satchel Paige as “the great negro” during a Veteran’s Day address at Arlington National Cemetery.

“I’ve adopted the attitude of the great negro at the time, pitcher of the Negro leagues, who went on to become a great pitcher in the pros — in Major League Baseball — after Jackie Robinson. His name was Satchel Paige,” the Pennsylvania native told the crowd.

Floyd Mayweather Offers Harsh Truth About Logan Paul Fight

Back in June, Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul fought each other in what proved to be an absolute sham of a fight. Paul didn’t seem to be in particularly great shape while Mayweather wasn’t even trying. For eight rounds, these two danced around without ever really doing any damage. It was a pretty sad state of affairs that had boxing fans demanding refunds and their time back.

Many have stated that the entire match was fixed and was simply a spectacle for a quick buck. Recently, Mayweather was at a convention for WBC, and he pretty well confirmed what the fans had been saying all this time. Simply, Mayweather claimed that if the fight had been a real one, he would have knocked Logan out in the first round.

“People have gotta know, there’s a difference between a real fight and an exhibition,” Mayweather said. “I did an exhibition with the YouTuber Logan Paul. We had fun. All I did was work out from time to time. If it was a real fight, it would’ve been a blowout in the first round.”

Most boxing fans know this already, however, it is good to see Mayweather confirming it. After all, Floyd did admit that he is a master of legalized bank robbing, which should be all the proof you need that he was more than okay with the check.

Suspects In Young Dolph Memorial Shooting Identified & Charged

The violence has to stop.

Just day one day following the murder of Young Dolph, there was a drive-by shooting next door to the late rapper’s memorial site at Makeda’s Homemade Cookies. As previously reported, one man was shot in the leg during the attack, and he is expected to make a full recovery. Still, the shooting must be troubling for the residents of Memphis because memorials shouldn’t be dangerous places for people to gather at.

At the time of the shooting, Memphis police were already on the scene, and they were able to immediately pursue the Nissan that had just fired a shot into the crowd of people at Dolph’s memorial. After crashing the vehicle on Kerr Ave and Mississippi Blvd and tossing their handguns, the suspects were quickly apprehended by the officers.

Fans of Young Dolph set up a memorial outside of Makeda's Cookies bakery on November 18, 2021 in Memphis, Tennessee. Rapper Young Dolph, born as Adolph Thorton Jr., was killed at the age of 36 in a shooting at Makeda's Cookies bakery on November 17th in Memphis.

Police have now identified the three men arrested and charged in connection to the shooting. According to Memphis’ WREG, the detained suspects include 23-year-old Terrance Jones, 19-year-old Jailon Nelvis, and 22-year-old Tavis McQueen, and they have all reportedly been charged with aggravated assault, evading arrest, three counts of possession of prohibited weapon, two counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of theft of property, and six counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.

At this time, local police attest that there is no evidence that suggests that the Jones, Nelvis, and McQueen investigation is connected to Young Dolph’s murder, and the three young men are currently scheduled to appear in court on Monday, November 22.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Kaytranada’s New ‘Intimidated’ EP Features HER, Thundercat, And Mach-Hommy

Kaytranada has been steady grinding all year. The Canadian producer has dropped a collaboration track Mick Jenkins, the Black History Month-focused “Caution,” and has announced festival headlining slots at both Phoneix’s non-profit M3F Fest and California’s lakeside Lightning In A Bottle. But he’s saved his 2021 piece de resistance for last…

Released today, the Intimidated EP is just three tracks long, but they’re each equally brilliant and you’re going to want to press repeat again and again on these cuts. “Intimidated” featuring HER taps into the same magic that garnered Kaytra his Grammy Award for 10% with Kali Uchis. “Be Careful” features Thundercat and stands tall just as much on the producer’s signature drums as it does on ‘cat’s silky vocals. Finally, “$payforhaiti” sees Griselda rapper Mach-Hommy rapping in Creole on a track whose message of Haitian freedom is illustrated on the album cover. It’s all pure heat from Kaytranada; of course.

Listen to the title track featuring HER above. Check out the album artwork and track list below, along with Kaytranada’s upcoming tour and festival dates.

Chuck D Writes An Open Letter Defending Travis Scott And Blaming Live Nation For The Astroworld Tragedy

In the wake of the Astroworld Festival accident which left more than 300 people injured and at least ten dead so far, the face of the festival, Travis Scott, has become the target of most of the criticism for the fest’s ill-preparedness and received a slew of lawsuits from those affected, ranging from the reasonable to the utterly frivolous.

However, the Houston rapper has at least one supporter in his corner: Public Enemy founder and hip-hop pioneer Chuck D, who writes in an open letter published today in Rolling Stone that the blame should rest squarely on the event’s promoter Live Nation (which has since launched a fund for injured festival attendees). “I’m tired of these corporations shucking their most crucial responsibility,” he writes, These folks simply say Rest in Peace and move on. This negligence can’t continue. Folks want answers. I’m not buying the Young Black Man did it.”

Instead, he calls on Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino and Live Nation partner ScoreMore to not only accept responsibility for the disaster at the recent concert but also for hooking up with Travis in the first place, despite his history of inciting irresponsible behavior at his shows. In Chuck’s view, “Concert promoters have all the power to make the changes to keep everyone safe and alive.” And you have to admit… he has a point.

You can read the full letter below.

I cannot believe we’re at the point where !gotta say this out loud: Travis Scott is a performer, an act, not a concert promoter. He doesn’t run the sound or venues or festivals or their staff. He doesn’t build stages or coordinate logistics, he’s not an expert in crowd control or security or emergency medical services. But he does trust Live Nation and all the other concert promoters who are supposed to do all of this. And yet here we are, 10 deaths and counting. 10 broken families.

The world is mourning.

I’m tired of these corporations shucking their most crucial responsibility. These folks simply say Rest In Peace and move on. This negligence can’t continue. Folks want answers. I’m not buying “the young Black Man did it.” He’s being blamed for a crime while the old white men running the corps that Travis and his fans trusted with their lives stay quiet in the shadows, counting their money and watching their stock prices go up and up. The excuse of Scott’s irresponsible actions don’t wash – if his act had a history of that behavior why promote him to bigger venues, why partner with him in the first place and let him headline a bigger audience? Live Nation controlled this show. They control almost all of the concert venues. Artists ain’t speaking out because these same cats are already bought by these corporations. No one can say a word against them unless they want to be Blacklisted and hurt their careers.

So I am calling on Michael Rapino’s entire team at Live Nation and a consortium of all the major concert promoters out there to do the right thing. To step up and step out of the shadows to fix these situations and save lives. To stop letting one Young Black Man take the blame, the hate, the fall. We don’t know everything that happened or exactly what failed. But concert promoters have all the power to make the changes to keep everyone safe and alive.

Live Nation, your stock is up. The White Corporate Music Biz keeps cashing in on Black Pain, Trauma, and Death. This has to stop yesterday. You’re part of the problem. Grow the f*ck up, fix this and let us all LIVE in PEACE.
