Adele’s “30” Achieves Biggest Debut Of The Year

Adele and Taylor Swift have dominated pop music over the last month or so. After Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last week, Adele’s latest fourth studio album looks to do the same.

On Nov. 19, Adele dropped 30, a 12-song, 58 minute beautifully recorded expedition through her recent mindset. The album included its promotional single “Easy On Me,” which is the second track on the album. “Easy On Me” has spent over a month on top of the Spotify global chart.

30 will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, selling 838,000 units and around 670,000 pure album sales. According to Hits Daily Double, this will be the biggest bow of the year, and the largest debut since Taylor Swift’s July 2020 album folklore.

These two albums are the only ones to eclipse 800,000 units in a debut in the last two years, evident that they likely have the two strongest fanbases in pop music today.

Red (Taylor’s Version) was a re-record of an already existent album tat added a few new tracks, and Taylor Swift’s fans got it to achieve over 600,000 units sold. This week, the album will fall to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 169,000 units.

Adele’s 30 owns the charts, and it will likely do so for weeks to come. With her first album in six years, Adele has reclaimed her pop throne.

Troy Ave Tells “The Crotana Park Story Pt. 1”

It’s hardly a holiday season without new music from Troy Ave. The rapper’s made a concerted effort over the years to bless fans with new music, usually in the form of a White Christmas mixtape. It seems like the rapper might opt out of his regular mixtape series this year. On Friday, the rapper blessed fans with his latest body of work, God Is Great Paper Straight. Troy Ave delivered an 11-song body of work that finds him bringing tales of the New York streets to life.

On “Crotana Park Story Pt. 1,” the rapper dives into a story about meeting a young lady who ultimately has some ulterior motives that he finds out about from one of his friends. I won’t ruin the plot. Press play below.

I don’t scam, I distribute grams
Take care of my fam

Akz Leaves An Impression On His Debut Project “The Come Up 1”

The UK drill scene might not be as big as it is now if it weren’t for OTF. The Headie One-led collective has had a grip on the sound, delivering tons of music that’s festered in the underground until finally coming into the mainstream light. Of course, Headie remains one of the biggest drill rappers out of London right now. However, that could change in the future.

Akz has continued to bubble up from an underground level and now, he’s making a formal impression with the release of his latest project, The Come Up 1. Laced with 11 songs in total and a run-time of a little over half an hour, Akz enlists Headie One, Kush, RV, Double Lz, and more for his new project.

Rico Nasty Shares Concerning Twitter Rant: “I Wish I Was Dead Just As Much As Y’all Do”

Rico Nasty is going through a lot right now, according to her Twitter page. The rapper shared a concerning rant earlier today, prompting fans to check in with her and show her some love.

“I dead ass need at least two hours out of each day, just to cry,” the 24-year-old tweeted this afternoon. “Crazy how I wanted a tour bus my whole life and now I just be on the tour bus crying myself to sleep every night.”

In a particularly concerning post, Rico wrote, “I wish I was dead just as much as y’all do, trust me.” Followed by “y’all win.” Countless fans have reached out to the Washington, D.C. native, letting her know that they support and love her. “Who said that to you? I will pull up to them like this istg,” one follower wrote above a meme of Kanye West holding a gun.

“Your fans love you mama. But I know that other people’s negative words drown the positive out. I hope you get the love you deserve and feel better,” another sweet reply reads. “I love you Rico. Spend some time with those closest around you who spark the most real joy. [You] don’t deserve any of this harassment, I hope you find your happy place soon and do some self care and resting on the way.”

The aforementioned harassment has largely been taking place at Playboi Carti concerts where, Rico, the opening act, has been being targeted by audience members. At one show, a patron took things way too far, throwing a bottle at the “Pussy Poppin” artist, who was compelled to jump into the crowd and chase after them for attacking her.

Following other negative reactions to her stage time, Rico has also accused the crowd of being “anti black.” Clearly the haters have been weighing heavy on her mental health, so here’s hoping she gets the rest, relaxation, and love that she needs ASAP.

Soulja Boy Brings “Smoke Thru Your City”

Soulja Boy’s name always ends up in the headlines, for better or for worse. Oftentimes, it relates to some sort of outlandish claim that ultimately proves to be true. However, he’s remained committed to delivering heat for his fans, no matter what’s going on in the media or in his life. The rapper’s unveiled four official projects this year, on top of the countless singles that he’s dropped on YouTube and Soundcloud.

Last week, the rapper found himself in the middle of controversy for the single, “Stretch Sum” which some believed to be a shot at Young Dolph. He denied that to be true but he’s back with an official follow-up titled, “Smoke Thru Your City.” Over slow-burning trap production, Draco pops his shit and flexes on his haters.

Check the song out below.

Quotable Lyrics
Hunnid thousand dollars for a brand new Bentley
I be all in the trap, boy you n***as ain’t in the trenches
Broad day, gang, got ’em clappin’ on that mission
One day, one M, Big Draco ran up millions

Chad Johnson & YK Osiris Trade Shots Over $325k Earrings

YK Osiris has been catching heat for a number of reasons as of late. After getting roasted on Twitter for his exchange with Lil Baby where Baby demanded he repay his $5,000 debt to him, YK proceeded to flex his $325,000 diamond earrings for the masses to see.

Former NFL wide receiver and showman Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson had some words of wisdom in response to this, feeling that Osiris wasted his money. He quoted a tweet about the earrings saying he could’ve gotten them at young girls’ shop Claire’s instead: “I got the same earrings for $10 from Claire’s.”

In this tweet, he is referencing when he went to Claire’s and bought $10 earrings in 2009, when NFL’s reality show Hard Knocks covered his team the Cincinnati Bengals. Footage from this episode surfaced as he gave foreshadowing advice to his affluent peers about wasteful spending on earrings.

Today, YK Osiris issued a response on his Instagram story, telling Chad to mind his business and playfully flexing his own Claire’s earrings, ironically taking Ochocinco’s advice: “We all grown baby, you don’t nobody how to spend their money. If Ocho Coco wanna go to Claire’s and spend $10 on earrings, man I congratulate you. You should do that. That’s your money. But you don’t go in another man’s business and tell another man how to spend their money. Big facts.”

Even though YK Osiris was displeased with what Ochocinco had to say about his spending habits, he may have found his advice useful.

Was Osiris spending too much on his earrings?

Wavy Navy Pooh Takes On “Who Want Smoke??”

It seems inevitable that Nardo Wick’s “Who Want Smoke??” remix won’t end up landing on several year-end lists. The gutteral production, high energy, and vicious quotables have transformed the song into a viral sensation that apparently holds some sort of responsibility for a group of high school students getting suspended. However, it’s been a favorite in the rap community, especially among rappers who’ve taken on the record and put their own spin on it.

We’ve heard Kodak Black and Chief Keef tackle the beat, as well as Don Q. Now, Wavy Navy Pooh put his spin on the record, bringing slick flows and menacing bars into the fold.

Check out the latest from Wavy Navy Pooh below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Everyday shine, I glisten
I don’t talk much, I listen
Hawk a n***a down, leave a n***a on the ground
Face down, get back, get missin’

Ice-T & Coco’s Daughter Gives Twerk Lessons To Her Grandma On Instagram

As noted in her Instagram bio, 42-year-old Coco Austin is a “super mom” to her daughter, Chanel, which means the two spend plenty of time together. The Los Angeles native frequently shares content with her daughter on social media, and over the weekend, the young girl’s grandma even got in on the fun.

If you scroll through Austin’s IG story, you’ll see plenty of footage of her celebrating the recent holiday with her family and gearing up for Christmas. Near the end of the posts, she snuck in some footage of Chanel educating her grandma on how to twerk.

“So, you go like this,” the young girl says, bending over to stick her butt out while putting her hands on her knees. “And then you go,” she instructs, giving her behind a little shake. “But what are you doing? Do I do squats, or what are you doing with your butt?” her grandma inquires.

“Wait, what are you guys doing exactly?” Coco then chimes in. “What are you doing?” she asks again before her daughter enthusiastically yells, “twerking!” “You’re teaming [my] mom how to twerk?” the Angel Blade actress asked her daughter once again.

“I don’t know how to do it,” Grandma says, waving her hands in frustration. The little girl then demonstrates a different twerking method, getting on all fours and pointing her bottom directly in the air. As her mom follows suit, Coco says, “Oh…My…God,” with a laugh. “This is what you do when family’s over. Ohhh my gosh.”

Just a few days ago, the Ice & Coco star also shared a sweet post about her daughter, giving some insight into their life together. “I teach Chanel working out and staying and staying healthy, you’ll always pretty much be a happy person. I also tell her if she has flexibility now she’ll have it forever. I can vouch for that.. Staying fit is a lifestyle there’s no work at it, its just what you do everyday.”

B-Lovee & A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Lock In On “My Everything Pt II”

B-Lovee has been one of the most promising new artists to step from New York’s drill scene, which has certainly taken a cue from Brooklyn. The Bronx-bred MC has been delivering a slew of bangers this year but it’s “My Everything” that has formed a life of its own. The enchanting vocal sample that rings throughout the song are met with vicious 808s while B-Lovee shares his outlook on romance.

The song’s success has already led to a remix with G Herbo, which was dubbed as “Part 3.” Chronological order doesn’t seem to matter for B-Lovee, especially as he followed up the G Herbo remix with “My Everything Pt II” ft. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Boogie’s contributions to the track add smoothness while B-Lovee’s rugged delivery leads the way.

Quotable Lyrics
Girl, I don’t do dates but this big-body ‘Burban, girl, I sent it for you
I don’t even trust bitches, how’d I end up into you? Huh?
