Ben Affleck Recalls Playing Catch With Tom Brady: “I Thought I Would Really Get Hurt”

Ben Affleck says he once played a game of catch with NFL legend Tom Brady and described the experience as “one of the most memorable days of my life.” The actor says the similarities between himself and Brady mostly begin and end with both of them having been in New England.

“I wish I had more in common with Tom Brady,” Affleck recently told Bill Simmons on his podcast, Friday. “I played catch with the man once and realized how very little we had in common. He was throwing the ball to me and I was praying to God, not just because I wanted to impress the guy — which I very much did — but because I thought I would really get hurt because it shows up right in front of your face.”

The Last Duel star explained that he didn’t expect to have to work as hard as he did. Affleck joked that he had to “work harder than I have in the last 25 years.”

Affleck also says the workout showed him firsthand why Brady is considered the greatest quarterback of all time.

He explained: “He doesn’t have that part of the brain where he gets nervous…He doesn’t get tight. And by getting tight ruins him. That’s why guys drop the ball on the clutch play….There are famous instances, plays they make 10,000 times… Even when we were playing catch, we weren’t just playing catch. He would say, ‘Alright, it’s the Super Bowl. We’re on the 16-yard line, it’s fourth down. We have six seconds. We win this; it’s everything. We miss; it’s over.’ Even just listening to him, I thought we were in the Super Bowl and thought, ‘I’ll do anything to catch this ball.’…The ball was a little past me and I lept out and dove. I think I was doing my ‘Batman’ at the time and was like, ‘Nevermind my career, nevermind my aging body.”’

iHeartRadio Canceled The Last Stop On The Jingle Ball Tour Due To Covid-19

If you thought we were out of the woods with the Covid-19 pandemic think again. The spread of a new variant called Omicron has already set back SNL‘s episode last night to a handful of cast members, and even led to the cancelation of Charli XCX’s performance on the show. Now, it’s led to another cancelation — the final stop on the Jingle Bell tour, which was slated to take place in Miami tonight. The tour has been marred by a handful of other cancellations by artists like Doja Cat, who faced exposures to the virus and needed to take the precaution.

But cases are so high as of this weekend that the radio station isn’t taking any risks and has put the kibosh on the whole tour, which was slated to include performances from Saweetie, Black Eyed Peas, AJR, Tate McRae, Monsta X, Bazzi, Anitta, and Dixie D’Amelio. “Due to the increased transmission of the new Covid-19 variant and to further minimize any potential risks, as a precautionary measure and for the safety of our staff, talent and guests, we have made the decision to cancel tonight’s iHeartRadio Y100 Jingle Ball,” iHeart said in a statement. “Thank you for your understanding. Ticket holders will receive a refund within 48 hours and if the have any issues, they should reach out to their point of purchase.”

On Sunday morning, the music world awoke to sad news: West Coast rapper Drakeo The Ruler passed away at just 28 years old. He was fatally stabbed at Los Angeles’ Once Upon A Time Festival, where he served as a performer. A fight broke out backstage during the show on Saturday night, and according to the Los Angeles Times, a group of people attacked Drakeo, which led to the stabbing. Hours after Drakeo’s death was confirmed, Snoop Dogg, who was listed as one of the festival’s organizers along with Live Nation and Bobby Dee, issued a statement about the matter. “I’m saddened by the events that took place last night at the Once Upon a Time in LA festival,” Snoop wrote. “My condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Drakeo the Ruler. Bishop Sycamore Officially “Not A School” According To Ohio Dept. Of Education

Bishop Sycamore broke through in late August this year as one of the most baffling football stories of the year. However, it was not because of their success on the field.

Bishop Sycamore competed in high school football games on ESPN, and most famously lost to Florida high school football dynasty IMG 58-0. After this blowout loss, it was uncovered that Bishop Sycamore was a roster of grown men, hoping to reclaim their football dreams.

After this discovery, more information came out about the school, including the fact that the school was not even real and their campus address was a residential home, as well as their coach paying for their expenses with bounced checks and they were not even registered in the Ohio HS Athletic Association, where they were from.

Their coach Roy Johnson was soon fired, and they disbanded as a team. The governor of Ohio Mike DeWine soon called for an investigation into the program by the Ohio Department of Education. That report came out this week, and the 79-page ruling claimed that Bishop Sycamore was never a school and did not meet any of the standards to be an education facility: “There is no evidence that Bishop Sycamore High School is meeting the minimum standards for non-chartered, non-tax supported schools. Bishop Sycamore officials were given the opportunity to provide additional information to demonstrate the school’s legitimacy and compliance. They declined to do so. … Without the clarification from the school to prove its compliance, common sense leads one to the most obvious explanation: Bishop Sycamore is not a school as it purports on paper to be.”

DeWine responded to the report doubling down on these findings: “his report confirms numerous disturbing allegations regarding Bishop Sycamore. Ohio families should be able to count on the fact that our schools educate students and don’t exist in name only as a vehicle to play high school sports. When an Ohio student goes to school, they deserve a quality education to prepare them for success in the future.”

The Ohio governor now hopes that Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost can determine if there was any criminal activity going on with Bishop Sycamore that can be punishable by law.

One of the most tragic outcomes of this Bishop Sycamore saga is that they were getting clobbered by football teams with players years younger than them.

Tyron Woodley Says He’s Not Retiring Despite Being Knocked Out By Jake Paul

Tyron Woodley says he has no intentions of retiring anytime soon, despite being knocked out by Jake Paul, Saturday night, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Instead, the former UFC Welterweight Champion says he plans to expand beyond just boxing in 2022.

“I didn’t look like a fighter that was slow. I didn’t look like a fighter that didn’t have fight in him. I gotta make that choice. I already planned to stay super busy in 2022, and that doesn’t change,” Woodley told TMZ after the fight.

He added that he doesn’t plan to stick to boxing either: “I just wanna do four different forms of combat sports. One being boxing, at least one time. One MMA, for sure. And just finish out like a winner.”

Woodley’s fight with Paul was back-and-forth throughout the first five rounds, but in the sixth, Paul was able to sneak in a strong punch to knock Woodley out. The contest was a rematch of a fight between the two dating back to August when Paul won by split decision.

“One f***ing hand drop. And I’m looking at it, why did I drop my hands? That’s driving me crazy,” Woodley said of the knockout blow.

Big Sean Calls Out Kanye For Praising Drake Instead Of Him

Last month’s Kanye West interview with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN of Drink Champs lead to several of Ye’s colleagues catching stray bullets. One of the primary victims of Ye’s rhetoric in the interview was Big Sean, where Kanye said signing Sean to his G.O.O.D Music label was one of the worst things he had ever done.

Immediately after hearing this, Big Sean said he was eager to share his views on Ye at Drink Champs as soon as possible. A month later, the interview is now here.

Big Sean emptied the clip in the interview, touching on his multiple dramatic happenings with Ye over his career, including being pressured to fire a friend of hisauditing G.O.O.D Music for money he is owed and Ye reaching out to reconcile after his Drink Champs interview aired.

One of the most eye-popping moments is when Sean discussed Kanye’s relationship with Drake, that is now in good standing after a rocky previous few years. While Big Sean is happy to see Ye and Drake reunited as friends via the “Free Larry Hoover” show, he felt that Kanye had much more affinity for Drake than him even while they were beefing, although Sean was always much more loyal to Ye: “It’s not all about the money. It’s the principal. I haven’t done a “7 AM On Bridle Path,” I haven’t put it in nothing. I had an issue with all the respect being paid to somebody who publicly did that. And I know people be going through things, making up and that’s beautiful. I want to see my brothers together, but to me, I take that personal.”

He also explained that Kanye forcing Big Sean to add his verse to Sean’s 2015 hit “Blessings” with Drake was the first instance of Drake being irritated by Ye’s antics.

Kanye can tend to rub people the wrong way, and surely Big Sean has been around him enough in his career to go through issues with Ye on. afew occasions.
