Dolphins Shockingly Fire HC Brian Flores: Twitter Reacts

The Miami Dolphins have fired head coach Brian Flores after finishing 9-8 and having won 8 of their last 9 games. Fans online were shocked by the team’s decision.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross defended the organization’s decision in a statement on Monday.

“I made a decision today to part ways with Brian Flores,” Ross said. “After evaluating where we are as an organization and what we need going forward to improve, I determined that key dynamics of our football organization weren’t functioning at a level I want it to be and felt that this decision was in the best interest of the Miami Dolphins.”

Flores finishes his career with the Dolphins 24-25 in three seasons as head coach. His best performance came in 2020 when the team finished 10-6.

“I wake up to the Dolphins firing Brian Flores after taking a 1-7 team to a winning record & back to back winning seasons with brutal offensive play. And you wonder why the franchise hasn’t won a playoff game in 20 + years… Clueless!!!” one user tweeted.

The Ringer’s Rodger Sherman wrote: “Brian Flores’ Miami teams were constantly improving and Flores constantly put them in a position to win despite some brutal draft selections by GM Chris Grier. I get firing one of those guys… but not Flores.”

Reason Argues That Fabolous Is A Better Rapper Than Andre 3000

One of the more fun aspects of rap fandom is arguing about which rappers are “best” — even if the criteria vary from person to person (or maybe because they do). Recently, we got the first big debate of 2022 thanks to TDE rapper Reason, who appeared on Van Lathan’s Higher Learning podcast and made a declaration that baffled the host. Claiming that New York rapper Fabolous is a better rapper than fan-favorite Andre 3000, Reason’s, well, reasoning led to an outbreak of Twitter users sharing their thoughts.

“I feel like if you lined up Fabolous and Andre 3000, I got my money on Fab,” Reason asserted. “I’m not about to hate on Fab, but that boy from Atlanta is a monster,” Lathan replied. However, Reason argued that “[Fab] out-raps Wayne. If you can out-rap Wayne, you can out-rap Andre 3000. He’s out-rapped Wayne on records. … I’m not saying it’s easy for Fab, but I think if Fab came in with the mindset of ‘I want the best verse,’ I think Fab can out-rap Andre 3000.”

Reason posted a clip of the debate on his own Twitter, suggesting, “We need a Fab vs Andre Verzuz. Verses only! I got Fab! Somebody hand me the aux!” which naturally only prompted the debate to spread even further, with fans of all three rappers chiming in.

And while it seems as unlikely that Andre will ever agree to do a Verzuz as Jay-Z will, the debate made for some spicy banter on a relatively slow weekend. Check out the responses below.

Kanye West’s “jeen-yuhs” Netflix Documentary Receives New Teaser Trailer: Watch

It’s nearly time for Kanye West’s long-awaited Netflix documentary trilogy to make its debut. Ahead of that, the streamer has delivered a teaser trailer for jeen-yuhs, which gives die-hard fans of the “Jail” rapper a 1-minute and 11-second long look at what’s to come when the project arrives in February.

While it doesn’t give away too much information about what will be included in the visual “journey of Kanye West,” we do get to go back in time to the early days of the father of four’s career, where he can be seen hanging out with old friends, acting as braggadocious as ever, even so many years back.

According to Complex, Act One of the three-part documentary series – which comes from the minds of renowned filmmakers Coodie and Chike – will receive a nationwide theatrical release ahead of its premiere on Netflix.

“Filmmakers Coodie and Chike have created an extraordinary film and we’re honoured that they have trusted TIME Studios to produce jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy,” Ian Orefice, president of TIME Studios said in a press release on Monday. “We’re excited to partner with Iconic Events Releasing to give the world a chance to first experience the once in a generation storytelling in theatres.”

Iconic Events Releasing CEO Steve Bunnell has said, “through his work as a performer, producer, and entrepreneur, few artists or businessmen have had a greater impact on worldwide popular culture than Kanye West over the last twenty years,” also adding that jeen-yuhs is a “must-see” film.

The first film, which focuses on Ye’s early years, will hit Netflix on Wednesday, February 16th, with the next two episodes following in the subsequent weeks; check out the new teaser trailer below.

Lady Wray Brings Some Much Needed Soul On “Joy & Pain”

It’s been over five years since Lady Wray released her last full-length project, Queen Alone. The R&B vet has remained active but it was the 12-track project that helped reintroduce her to the world 18 years after the release of her debut album. Nearly six years later, and it appears that she’s preparing to bless fans with a new full-length before the month ends.

Ahead of its release, she delivered an eight-song EP to set the tone for what’s to come. Joy & Pain brings Wray and Leon Michels back together for a warm and soulful collection of songs.

Lady Wray’s forthcoming album, Piece Of Me is due out on Jan. 28th. Keep your eyes peeled for that and make sure you press play on Wray’s Joy & Pain EP below.

Valee & ChaseTheMoney Are Back At It On “Trident”

Between 2015 and 2017, Valee set Chicago ablaze through his monotone delivery and dry humor in his music. However, the tides changed once he linked up with Kanye West. The rapper signed with G.O.O.D Music after Pusha T discovered him and went on to release GOOD Job, You Found Me, but we haven’t heard much work from him coming out of the Kanye-led campaign ever since.

That’s not to say he hasn’t been working, either. Just before the holidays, he and ChaseTheMoney reunited for their new project, Gimme Five Im High featuring Lil Stl, King Louie, and more. Now, he’s returned with another new cut alongside ChaseTheMoney titled, “Trident.” Bringing his signature flow to ChaseTheMoney’s hallucinatory production, they prove that they’re coming into 2022 on a high note.

Joey Bada$$ Announces New Song “THE REV3NGE” Dropping This Friday

Joey Bada$$ is back. On Sunday, the 26-year-old rapper shared a post across his social media pages to generate some buzz for his upcoming single, “THE REV3NGE,” dropping this Friday, January 14th.

As The Source notes, it’s currently unclear if the images the “Love Is Only a Feeling” has shared are artwork for the single, or for the album dropping later this year that he confirmed during an Instagram Live session a few days ago.

“Shit, the album dropping this year for sure,” the Wu-Tang: An American Saga actor told fans pondering about new music. “I ain’t going to say exactly when, though, because there’s certain rappers who be on my heels, so I’ma just… It’s coming, though.”

The last time we received a full-length project from the Brooklyn-born recording artist was in April of 2017 when he delivered ALL-AMERIKKAN BADASS, which made its debut at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. After that, Bada$$ gave us The Light Pack EP, consisting of three tracks and one Pusha T feature.

When announcing his new release, the 1999 hitmaker simply wrote, “#THEREV3NGE 1/14” alongside images made to look like movie posters. In the first, the rapper can be seen intensely staring down the camera with a dark blue hue cast over him, and in the second, he bears a similar look, but this time we see a group of people edited onto his chest.

“They say success is the best revenge,” the text at the top of the photo reads.

Are you looking forward to new music from Joey Bada$$? Who do you hope to see featured on his 2022 album? Let us know in the comments.
