Drake’s Friend Finally Returns “Chappelle Show” DVD After 15 Years

We all have a friend who borrowed a DVD, book, or even a clothing item that they’ve yet to return. Most people forget about it after a certain amount of time, which appears to be the case for Drake and his DVD set of The Chappelle Show. The rapper took to Instagram yesterday where he revealed that his friend, D10, finally returned the copy after 15 years. “I let D10 borrow this in like ‘07,” Drake wrote on his IG Story, along with a photo of the DVD. “Man sent me a text said I can have it back now.”

As Complex noted, D10 is actually Drake’s musical director and has been for the majority of the rapper’s career. D10 is tasked with making sure Drake’s live performances go smoothly. We can only imagine that Drake likely forgot about it over time, or, at the very least, purchased a new copy of the DVD.

While Drake was clearly a big fan of Chappelle before he was ever put on, things came full circle in his career in December. Chappelle actually helped host a gathering at Drake’s Toronto mansion in December where the Canadian rapper and Kanye West officially squashed their beef. Chappelle offered Drake the highest praises for the long list of accomplishments and milestones he reached throughout his career to afford such a luxurious home

50 Cent Lusts For Riches On ‘Power Powder Respect’ With Lil Durk And Jeremih

50 Cent hasn’t made much music lately, but when he does, it’s usually associated with his long-running Starz franchise Power. Considering there are now multiple spinoffs to the popular original series, 50’s output has picked up, as he cooked up “Part Of The Game” with NLE Choppa for Book III: Raising Kanan and has now shared the theme song for Book IV: Force, “Power Powder Respect” featuring Lil Durk and Jeremih.

Like prior themes, it focuses on the ups and downs of life on the streets, with 50 and Durk meditating on the spoils and dangers of the money chase. Naturally, it reflects the same themes within the upcoming season of Power, as fan-favorite hustler Tommy Egan pursues the throne of Chicago’s underworld. Joseph Sikora, who portrays Tommy on the show, can even be seen in the single artwork.

Although it’s been a while since his last proper release, it does appear 50 is looking to at least put out one final album before hanging up his mic completely. He recently teased as much on Instagram, declaring himself one of the top 10 rappers ever while hinting that “my next album might be my last.” Meanwhile, Power is just one of the many shows he’s working on for Starz, in addition to his series about the Black Mafia Family and an upcoming show about a female sports agent.

Travis Scott Faces A New Lawsuit Over Allegedly Stolen Mixtape Artwork

As Travis Scott prepares to defend himself from an avalanche of lawsuits from Astroworld survivors, another lawsuit has cropped up across the Atlantic. According to TMZ, a French artist, Mickaël Mehala — also known as Black Childish — is suing Travis over artwork from the compilation project Travis La Flame. Mehala’s painting depicting Travis as a centaur in a desert landscape was used as the cover, but Mehala says he did not give the rapper permission to do so.

According to Mehala, he created the painting in 2015 and DMed it to Travis in 2016, when the project was released. The painter never heard back but was surprised to see the artwork used as the cover. He says he registered a copyright in 2019 and has since tried to contact Travis and his management, only to be contacted by an attorney for the rapper who told him Travis was unaware that the art belonged to anyone. The project has since been removed from streaming platforms, but Mehala wants “hundreds of thousands” in restitution for the years it was in use and sole control of its use going forward.

Meanwhile, Complex notes that the compilation may not even be an official Travis Scott release and as we’ve seen before, artists’ projects have been uploaded to DSPs without their knowledge or consent in the past. Considering that Travis La Flame is made up of older tracks of Travis’ — including several from his Days Before Rodeo mixtape, it’s possible that this is the case here. Of course, Travis has been accused of plagiarism and unauthorized use of artwork in the past, so it looks like we’ll have to wait to see what a court thinks.

Gucci Mane’s established a tight team with the recently revamped 1017 imprint. However, the team apparently isn’t limited to the individuals who’ve signed contracts with the label. Cootie has been closely associated with the team due to his proximity to BiC Fizzle. The two have collaborated closely over the years, and according to Fizzle, it was Cootie that informed him that Gucci Mane was trying to sign him.

Cootie’s continued to carve out his own space in the rap game. This week, he blessed fans with the release of his latest project, Welcome To The Trap. Laced with 15 songs in total, Cootie taps Big Scarr, Big30, and of course, BiC Fizzle for the tracklist.

Kanye West Locks In The Lab With Moneybagg Yo, Antonio Brown & The Game

It seems like we might be able to expect a new album from Kanye West before the year ends. Steven Victor recently revealed that Kanye West is currently cooking up Donda 2and he’s been spending tons of time in the studio. Just the other day, Kanye was spotted in the lab with The Game where they swapped bars over Hit-Boy’s production which apparently includes a slick flip of Eazy-E’s “Eazy Duz It.”

It seems that his collaborative streak with The Game continues. After linking up with Antonio Brown for dinner, alongside his new lady Julia Fox, Kanye brought the NFL player, Moneybagg Yo, and The Game together for a studio session. The Game shared a photo of the four of them in the studio together, hinting at a potential collaboration on his next project, Drillmatic, though it could also be for Donda 2. Kanye West previously expressed his interest in working with AB on new music following the release of “Pit Not The Palace.”

Shortly after the photo emerged, a snippet of Kanye West freestyling in the studio surfaced, which you can check out below.

On Monday, Kanye West unveiled the new music video for “Heaven And Hell” off of Donda which also served as the first Yeezy Gap commercial. Shortly after the video’s debut, Ye’s highly-anticipated Yeezy Gap hoodies went up for sale.

Nas’s Leap Into The NFT Space Leads Site Crash

Cryptocurrency became a hot topic throughout 2021 but the world of digital currency and assets have evolved with the introduction of NFTs. By now, we’ve witnessed all sorts of rappers and artists take a leap into the NFT space. Artists like The Weeknd, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, and more have made bank from their involvement in the digital space.

Nas became a vocal supporter of crypto and NFTs, even rapping about his investment in Coinbase and how that’s turned him into “Cryptocurrency Scarface.” Most recently, the rapper launched non-fungible tokens where buyers would be able to obtain the streaming royalties to King’s Disease record “Ultra Black,” and “Rare,” which appears on King’s Disease II.

Purchasing the rights to any song in Nas’ catalog is probably a solid long-term investment but you could imagine that the demand was quite high. Apparently, the number of people who attempted to purchase the NFT on the blockchain platform Royal led the website to crash. Some people even compared it to the SNKRS app.

The rapper’s attempt to sell the royalties to his two songs was just the beginning of even bigger plans down the line. Nas was selling 50% of each of the songs through NFTs, which he described as a means to connect with his fans in the new digital space.

“I am always looking for new and unique ways to connect with the people,” said Nas in a statement. “So I am excited to partner with Royal on their new endeavor in order for the world to connect with my music in a new way.”

Kodak Black’s Alleged GF Breaks Up With Him After Hockey Game Twerking, Exposes John Wall

It’s always been difficult to keep up with Kodak Black’s personal life but after Tuesday night, it became a little more difficult. Despite his engagement to rapper Mellow Rackz, Kodak has a baby on the way with real estate agent Maranda Johnson. He’s also been linked to several other women, seemingly enjoying a polyamorous relationship.

On Tuesday night (January 11), Kodak was spotted at the Florida Panthers’ hockey game, sitting rinkside with one of his female friends, rapper Vvsnce. During the game, they ditched their seats and made their way up to a luxury box, where they were later pictured during a raunchy twerking session. Initially, fans believed that the couple was having sexual intercourse in the section, but it was later proven that they were both fully clothed.

Following his dramatic evening at the hockey game, Kodak is seemingly forced to say goodbye to one of the women he’s been spending time with. Treonna Brewer, who has previously been linked to the rapper, called him out on Instagram and told her followers that she’s “single” now. She also exposed a message that she received from basketball player John Wall, for some reason.

“I never knew a guy that will do anything for attention until I met you @kodakblack,” wrote Brewer. “But you speak on loyalty you have no clue what that is.”

She went on to share some messages from her followers, adding, “& this why I never post that man he’ll literally f*ck anything. I was genuine for the start and when he was locked up he was experiencing so much that I didn’t care to post. I never been a clout chasing b*tch. I have so many receipts but it’s not for y’all Lil Kodak know. Not mad I make him look good.”

She also shared a message she allegedly received from John Wall, which solely included the eyes emoji. “I’m single now,” she wrote.
