PETA Calls Out Kanye Over Skinned Monkey “Eazy” Cover Art

In its first hours since Kanye West and The Game shared their “Eazy” collaboration, reactions haven’t ceased. From fans to critics to downright haters, opinions have poured in from all corners of the Hip Hop globe. Many fans have noted that this version of Ye is reminiscent of his earlier catalog, while others are impressed by the Eazy-E “Eazy Duz It” sample that perfectly complements both Game and Ye’s lyrical approach.

Prior to the track’s release, the rappers teased “Eazy” by sharing not only a snippet of the song but also revealed the cover art that showed a skinned animal. Those with sensitive stomachs weren’t thrilled, including PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) who penned a statement on social media.

“The disturbing image of a skinned monkey that @kanyewest shared serves as a reminder that there’s no real difference between humans and other animals,” the organization penned. “Their lives aren’t easy when we abuse and kill them for food, experiments, clothing, or entertainment — they’re not ours to abuse for any reason. #EndSpeciesism.”

Hip Hop artists have often found themselves on the receiving end of PETA’s criticisms and radical stances. The Game managed to avoid being in PETA’s crosshairs over this one, but the organization may have singled out Ye because, for years, they have targeted him and the Kardashian-Jenners for various reasons, including wearing fur.

Meanwhile, Game and Ye are being widely applauded for “Eazy” and this seems to have reignited an already heightened interest in both rappers’ next projects. Check it out below.

Lil Gnar Asserts Future Is Better Than Tupac & Hip Hop Fans Battle

Hip Hop fans are engaging in an all-out generational war after Lil Gnar’s recent tweet went viral. The Atlanta-raised rapper and clothing designer knew just how to gain attention when he fired off a controversial tweet, and while it was short and to the point, the reactions have been heavy. Fans often like engaging in debates and discussions of which rappers are the best lyricists, performers, writers, or have the most noteworthy flows. The late Tupac Shakur has remained a favorite in the industry decades after his death, named a GOAT by legends in the game and fans, but Gnar believes another artist is better.

“Future better den tupac easy,” wrote Gnar.

Now, he didn’t offer up an explanation as to why or how he came to this personal conclusion. Not only did the tweet amass thousands of likes and hundreds of responses on Twitter alone, but screenshots have also been shared on other platforms where people have continued the conversation.

Tupac was, of course, murdered at 25-years-old in 1996 after a car he was riding in was shot at by unknown assailants. His legacy has remainded a staple in Hip Hop, not just because of his talents, but because of his revolutionary ideas, community building, and evolution as a man and artist. However, there is a generation of Hip Hop fans who have not grown up on Tupac’s music, and their versions of GOATs or Top 10 rappers are much different, and for many, Future is a leading voice over anything Tupac accomplished.

We’ll let you talk among yourselves in the comments as you let us know what you think of Gnar’s tweet. Read through a few reactions below as well.

As reactions to Token’s Pink Is Better continue to roll in, we’re shining a light on one of the Boston rapper’s standout collaborations. Pink Is Better arrived as an 18-track project that boasted features from Rico Nasty, Benny The Butcher, Lil Skies, J.I.D, and more. The Dreamville star appeared on “Boom” where he delivered a clever verse that has kept the track on repeat for fans who can’t get enough of J.I.D.

“The story of Pink Is Better has a lot of ideas and feelings to unravel,” said Token. “My last project ‘Between Somewhere’ I was never able to put physical copies online. This is something I always regretted because I remember being in 3rd grade and getting Eminem’s ‘Relapse’ CD as a gift, and reading through the entire booklet.”

“As a 9 year old, it helped me understand the project more,” he continued. “In the ‘PIB’ CD booklet, I have given context to each song along with what I was going through during each song’s creation.”Stream “Boom” and let us know your thoughts on this one.

I keep a K9, it got the power like Kanan

His sophomore effort From a Birds Eye Viewhas been receiving an ample amount of praise from Hip Hop fans, so we thought we’d highlight yet another track from Cordae’s labor of love. The rising rapper has been meticulously etching out his legacy in the Rap arena, and he has been seeking counsel and advice from those who came before him. From a Birds Eye View hosts looks from chart-topping legends like Nas and Lil Wayne, but Cordae also commanded attention from his peers, including Lil Durk and H.E.R.

Kanye Unleashes On “Eazy”: Divorce, Single Fatherhood, & Pete Davidson

If you thought you’d had enough of seeing Kanye West and his antics on your timeline, think again. The internet lit up on Friday (January 14) at the news that Ye and The Game would be delivering a new collaboration, and the pair of rappers did not disappoint. At the stroke of midnight, Game and Ye dropped off “Eazy,” a track previously titled “My Life was Never Eazy,” and lyrically, it seems as if West used the song to get a few things off of his chest.

He never mentioned his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, by name, but he does target her boyfriend Pete Davidson. We previously reported about the line after a snippet of “Eazy” went viral.

Ye also spit bars about his divorce, caring for his kids, nannies, buying a home near Kim, cameras being used as babysitters, and much more.

N*gga, we havin’ the best divorce ever
If we go to court, we’ll go to court together
Matter of fact, pick up your sis, we’ll go to court together
I watched four kids for like five hours today
I wear these Yeezy boots everywhere, even in the shower today
I got love for the nannies, but real family is better
The cameras watch the kids, y’all stop takin’ the credit
Non-custodial dad, I bought the house next door
What you think the point of really bein’ rich for?
When you give ’em everything they only want more
Boujee and unruly, y’all need to do some chores
Rich n*gga kids, this ain’t yo mama’s house
Climb on your brother’s shoulders, get that top ramen out
God saved me from that crash
Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass (Who?)

During his recent interview with Drink Champs, Ye suggested that he hadn’t seen any paperwork of his divorce, but by the sound of these lyrics, he’s well aware. He also touched on being called “Mr. Narcissist” as well no longer seeking counseling or therapy. Even within its first hours of release, “Eazy” has elicited a strong response from Hip Hop fans. Stream the track below and read through a few reactions from the public.

Kanye West & The Game Sample An Eazy-E Classic For “Eazy” Single

It’s the song that everyone has been waiting for and The Game and Kanye West have delivered. There has been much chatter these days about Ye and his escapades: whether he is jumping from one city to the next with new girlfriend Julia Fox, evading rumors that he is being investigated for criminal battery, or sitting down with Hollywood Unlocked‘s Jason Lee to discuss why he chose to purchase a home across the street from estranged wife Kim Kardashian, West remains a topic of conversation.

Amid all of the social media moments, Ye emerged with The Game and the two teased their collaboration, “Eazy,” or “My Life Was Never Eazy.” In a snippet, Ye can be heard rapping about beating up Pete Davidson, an obvious jab to the Saturday Night Live comedian who has currently been spotted jet-setting with Kim. We previously reported on the news that “Eazy” would arrive at midnight and it was also shared that it will exclusively be playable on Spotify for 24 hours before being available elsewhere.

“Life should be eazy for everybody, we make the choice to complicate it for ourselves & others,'” Game said in a press release. “Change your perspective & change the world.” Stream “Eazy”—a track that samples Eazy-E’s “Eazy Duz It” (and Beastie Boys “Paul Revere”)—and let us know which bars stood out for you.

Quotable Lyrics

So many ties to dollar signs, easy to end up on E
I got shot up like Columbine, the Crips descended on me

Drake Gets Trolled By The Maury Show With Hot Sauce Meme

After an IG model took to the internet with claims about Drake, the internet swiftly reacted. A woman shared a story about allegedly having a sexual encounter with the rapper and stated that after all was said and done, she retrieved the condom from the trash can and later had a painful revelation that Drake put hot sauce in it.

The tale went viral and became a brief moment that captivated the world and soon, memes began pouring in by the hundreds. Several continue to circulate online at Drake’s expense, but he seeming addressed the controversy by posting on his Instagram page.

He made it clear that he isn’t concerned with people worried about 15 minutes of fame when he occupies the other 23 hours and 45 minutes. The story gained the attention of the Maury Show which often pops in with its quips about pop culture, and they did so once more as they trolled the OVO Sound icon.

The Maury Show shared a meme that shows Drake turning his back on a photo of Maury Povich but accepting a bottle of hot sauce. The caption read, “That’s one way to make sure you don’t end up on the show #hotsauce #maury.” Brands and shows with social media pages often push the limits to troll the public or celebrities, and this won’t be the last from Maury

Van Hunt Explains “Teasing” Fake Halle Berry Wedding, Says They’ll Marry Under These Conditions

Their recent wedding “prank” caused social media to implode as people believed that Van Hunt and Halle Berry secretly wed, but the pair later stepped forward to say they hadn’t jumped the broom. Still, Berry and Hunt may be eyeing typing the knot, at least Hunt is because he spoke about certain conditions that would solidify them walking down the aisle.

Berry eased her relationship with Hunt onto her fans through a set of subtle social media posts, and since that time, the happy couple has been displaying their love and affections for the world. Fans of both the actress and the musician have praised their adoration, and when wedding news was reported, the response was palpable.

In a recent interview with the Domenick Nati Show, Hunt refuted that he and Berry were trying to prank the world.

“It wasn’t that,” he explained. “We were just teasing, trying our very own January Fool’s Day.” Additionally, Hunt spoke about the Bruised soundtrack song “Automatic Woman,” a track he produced that was performed by H.E.R. for Berry’s recent Netflix film. If that song earns an Oscar nomination and wins, he and Halle will apparently consider tying the knot.

He was also reserved about sharing how he and Berry met. “I’m just glad that we met… The opportunity to me is something that I never even dreamed was possible, to begin a relationship at 50, but it’s going really, really well. That’s all I can say.” Watch the interview below.
