Joe Budden Defends Ice Spice Amid Cleotrapa Drama And Says Fans Are Clueless On How Touring Works

Joe Budden says the accusations Cleotrapa made against Ice Spice are fairly common in the music industry and the internet doesn’t know how touring works. Cleo claimed Ice Spice and her team mistreated her on the Y2K! World Tour. She shared stories of having to use bathrooms as dressing rooms, not being afforded food, and more.

Budden began by arguing that Ice Spice isn’t calling any of the shots on her tour. “She don’t have no say over nothing,” he said. “She has not sold enough records to be in this position and on tour, every single dollar is accounted for months before we went on tour. I know exactly how much each of these rooms are gonna cost. I know exactly how much the gas is gonna cost. We can’t afford another bus but we got another bus. Okay let’s bring some other people, but those people are for free. There’s no budget. Every single dollar is accounted for.”

Budden’s comments echoed those of Spice’s manager, James Rosemond Jr., who argued that Cleo’s team should’ve set more realistic expectations for what the tour would be like. “If another bigger artist hit my client & say come on tour w/ her or him w/one day to prepared. As the manager I would advise my client this is risky, I would then connect w/ the other artist’s mgmt & agent immediately to advance logistics to see if it makes sense. To avoid hiccups,” he wrote in one of many posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.

Cleotrapa Claims Ice Spice Is Using Ozempic Amid Feud With Her Former Friend

Cleotrapa claims that Ice Spice has been using Ozempic to lose weight after the Bronx rapper went off on her in an X (formerly Twitter) Spaces conversation on Monday night. Spice had been responding to claims Cleo made about working with her on the Y2K! World Tour. After Cleo accused Spice’s team of refusing to buy her a chicken salad when she was hungry, the Bronx rapper gave context to the situation and labeled her a “vacuum.”

Cleo fired back in a post on X afterward. “Imagine being called big by someone that was just big,” she wrote. “I’m going to bed bro ozempic got yall gassed & fatphobic now? BET.” In another, she brought up Cardi B: “P*ssy but you was shaking on your bus thinking Cardi sent people to get you jumped. Whole time it was a lady & her kids just tryna get an autograph like helpppppppppppciikwnsnosp who tf told you to start with that lady anyways? NOBODY you picked with her now you scared.”

During Spice’s X Spaces response, she downplayed the entire situation as Cleo “crashing out.” “Crashing out is sad you guys,” she said. “The scary part of fame honestly is the moment that somebody feels like they can no longer use your platform or like they’re not getting exactly what they want out of a situation the way that they want it … That’s when they decide to crash out every single time. I’m noticing a pattern.”

On his Instagram Story recently, the “Black and Yellow” let his followers know that he sent it to her, saying, “I gave Ice Spice a joint last night. I hope she smoked it”. Not too long after, Spice would hit Wiz back indirectly on her Story, replying, “lmaooooo savin this for after the show thx wiz”.

The opening weekend for Ice Spice’s debut album, Y2K!, as expected, has been great, to put it bluntly. Overall, the project has not been receiving too many favorable reviews. Pitchfork seemed to disagree with the masses, leading many to question their critique. Seeing all of this makes it safe to say that not many out there want to see the New York rapper succeed in any fashion. Some will go as far as to claim that she doesn’t deserve all of this attention. That is up for you all to decide, but Spice is going to keep on chugging along.

Speaking of which, just last night, the Y2K! World Tour kicked off in Washington D.C., following several festival dates that were included in the set of 24. Close collaborators, RIOTUSA and Cash Cobain, are assisting along this major career milestone. From videos and images making the rounds online, it seems like Spice completely filled the arena to the brim. The crowd seemed to be into most of the live performances, proving that she is certainly the superstar that she has quickly become.
