50 Cent Declared Method Man His Favorite Rapper Of Wu-Tang Clan, Following NAACP Image Award Win

50 Cent may have come to a settlement with a media outlet over their sharing of Miami-based practice Perfection Medical Spa’s unproven size claims about his member downstairs. Still, there’s no denying he has a huge set of cojones on him. Today, the rapper declared Method Man was the best rapper in the legendary hip-hop collective Wu-Tang Clan.

This isn’t the first time the mogul had a bold take online when it comes to his rap music. Just last week, 50 shared his opinion that Future was ‘way bigger’ in the streets than Jay-Z. Now, while congratulation Method Man on his NAACP Image Award win for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series (for the role of Davis McLean) in 50’s executive-produced series, Power Book II: Ghost, the “In Tha Club” rapper wrote a kind note.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, 50 cent wrote, “Method Man is no joke, he was always #1 in Wu-Tang to me, but he has transitioned into something that has to be celebrated his train won’t stop, shout out to @naacp for recognizing and the ZARS network.”

To which Method Man replied, “3rd times the charm.. another win for the team.”

Is 50 Cent biased in his assessment due to the longstanding business relationship? Either way, many fans joined in to agree with his declaration.

The third season of Power Book II: Ghost, will premiere on March 17.

Raekwon Set to Open Cannabis Lounge in Newark

image

Words by: Brandon Simmons

Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon has a new business in Newark, New Jersey.

Located at 799-805 Broad Street, Raekwon has opened a cannabis lounge.  The lounge is called Hashstoria, a mashup of hashish and Astoria.  The dispensary where the cannabis comes from is in Astoria, a city in Oregon.  Hashtoria already has three locations, making the four floors of the Newark location its fourth.

The New Jersey’s Cannabis Regulatory Commission ruled that cannabis users are allowed to use cannabis where they purchased it, a big reason why the Hashstoria wanted the location.  New Jersey is now one of eight states to approve this new law.

Even though the 53-year-old rapper hails from Staten Island, New York, Raekwon is familiar with The Garden State.  Their biopic, Wu-Tang: An American Saga” was filmed in downtown Newark as well as other places in New Jersey.  As of now, there is no set date on when the lounge will open.

Dave East Says Wu-Tang Series’ Next Season Is Its Best Yet

Dave East recently expressed his excitement for the third season of Wu Tang: An American Saga, which begins February 15 on Hulu. While participating in an interview with Baller Allert on the Grammys red carpet, they asked him what fans can expect from this new chapter. “It’s the best season,” the New York MC expressed. “I think this the season that the world’s going to be able to identify the most with. I feel like season one and two is, like, stuff you didn’t know about them. You know what I mean? Getting to know their stories. Season three, I’m, like, really Meth. I look like Meth for real, I got the fangs and all that. It’s dope the way RZA did it this season.”

Moreover, Method Man himself had a standout moment at the awards ceremony. Alongside a host of other legendary hip-hop artist, he took the stage for a performance commemorating hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. Furthermore, the Wu-Tang member appeared to deliver a bit from his classic 36 Chambers track, “Method Man.” In fact, one of the most viral clips from that performance showed Jay-Z rapping the verse along with him. While no other Clan member appeared to perform, Meth represented the collective with pride, skill, and energy. Also, the performance hosted other groups (whether partially or in full) like Geto Boys, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and The LOX. In addition, individual performers included Rakim, GloRilla, Too $hort, Ice-T, Missy Elliott, Lil Baby, LL Cool J, and Queen Latifah.

Furthermore, the actor for Ol’ Dirty Bastard in the series, TJ Atoms, spoke on what fans will see in Season 3. “For the story, you’re going to see what unfolds when the different members get signed to different labels,” he remarked. “And we’ll see what happens when they really start doing the Wu-Tang thing for real. We’re probably going to see tours and shows. A lot of performances and drama, for sure, because RZA was making all the decisions.

Everybody didn’t agree with RZA’s decisions,” Atoms continued. “I don’t know if everybody [was unhappy], but I know some people were probably not as happy with RZA making decisions on their behalf, so we’re going to see a lot of this and a lot of that.” Are you excited for the new season of Wu Tang: An American Saga, and are you looking forward to Dave East’s performance? However you may feel, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, come back to HNHH for the latest on the Wu-Tang Clan and their historic series.

Wu-Tang Clan Unveiled The Perfect Last-Minute Christmas Gift: A $360K Book In A 400-Pound Steel Chamber

Today is December 23, which might be a day on which some of you reading this realize that there’s somebody in your life for whom you forgot to get a Christmas present. Christmas is just two days away, but thankfully, Wu-Tang Clan have come through with a last-minute gift: Legacy, a new coffee table book that only costs a cool $360,000.

The book measures 21 inches by 21 inches and has over 300 color pages “showcasing rare and unseen images of the band by leading photographers including the legendary Danny Hastings, PROTIM PHOTO, Kyle Christy and Andy Cantillon as well as friends and family of the Clan.” Don’t worry, though, because $360K will also get you “a striking bronze-encrusted black steel chamber” made from “400 lbs of steel and bronze” to encase the book. Each chamber is “individually designed by the sculptor Gethin Jones (protégé of Antony Gormley)” and “inspired by the ancient past and the bronze ritual bowls of the Zhou Dynasty whose first ruler was King Wu-Wang.” They “consist of Spun Mild Steel bowls while the raised ridges, base and logo are furnished in solid brushed brass.”

These things are likely to move quickly given their accessible price point, so if you’re eyeing one of these, act fast, since only 36 are being made. Maybe Bob Dylan will grab one.

Bob Dylan Explains Love For Wu-Tang Clan & Eminem

We already know that Rap fans can come from all backgrounds, and Bob Dylan is sharing a few of his favorite Hip Hop artists. The music icon has been a favorite since before Hip Hop was even a genre, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Dylan takes readers on a journey of his love for music.

During the chat, the journalist asked Dylan about his preferences in today’s music culture. He admitted that many of the newer artists he comes across are done so by accident. He said he likes The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, digs Oasis, and has “seen Metallica twice.”

He added: “I’ve made special efforts to see Jack White and Alex Turner [of Arctic Monkeys].” Dylan said he’s also a “fan” of “Royal Blood, Celeste, Rag and Bone Man, Wu-Tang, Eminem, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen.” Basically, “Anybody with a feeling for words and language, anybody whose vision parallels mine.”

The 81-year-old icon has been hailed as one of the greatest singer-songwriters in music history. With 60 years of experience under his belt, Dylan recalled falling in love with music sometime in the 1950s. He spoke about how that era was monumental for music.

“Without postwar technology, these songs may have dissipated and been overlooked,” he said. “The recording process brought the right people to the top, the most innovative, the ones with the greatest talent.”

“I first heard [popular songs] on the radio, portable record players, jukeboxes. We didn’t have a TV, and I never heard them in films, but I was hearing them in my head,” Dylan added.

“They were straightforward, and my relationship to them at first was external, then became personal and intense. The songs were simple, easy to understand, and they’d come to you in a direct way, let you see into the future.”

It would be interesting to hear which Slim Shady hits are Dylan’s favorites. Even he knows that the “Wu-Tang Clan ain’t nothin’ to f*ck with.”

Bob Dylan Declared His Love For Eminem And Wu-Tang Clan, Specifically For A Certain Part Of Their Artistry

Bob Dylan did a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, where he shared his thoughts on a range of music industry subjects. In the piece, Dylan notes specifically that he’s “a fan of” both Eminem and the Wu-Tang Clan, as he believes they have “feeling for words and language.” He also said that he enjoys listening to “anybody whose vision parallels mine.”

This isn’t the first time Dylan’s talked about Eminem either. During a 2001 interview with Time, he stated that the Detroit rapper was “doing something right” and that “I almost feel like if anything is controversial, the guy’s gotta be doing something right.”

Dylan also touched on his love for Royal Blood, Celeste, Leonard Cohen, Rag N’ Bone Man, and Nick Cave in the WSJ, as he felt they held a similar goal to Eminem and the WTC.

As for concerts, he’s been to see Metallica, Oasis, Klaxons, and “made special efforts” for Jack White and Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner. Yet, Dylan doesn’t love everything.

“There’s a sameness to everything nowadays,” he revealed. “Everything’s too easy. Just one stroke of the ring finger, middle finger, one little click, that’s all it takes, and we’re there… It’s all too easy, too democratic.”

At least Eminem and Wu-Tang Clan are in good company with Bob Dylan’s musical taste.
