Diddy Should Be Banned From The 2024 Grammys, Women’s Rights Group Claims

Recently, the women’s rights group UltraViolet argued that the Recording Academy should ban Diddy from the 2024 Grammys. Their statement comes amid the fourth sexual assault lawsuit Diddy’s been hit with in recent weeks. According to them, the Grammys should take a firm stance on the matter for the sake of survivors, and for the #MeToo movement.

“We are deeply disturbed and concerned by the recent allegations of sexual abuse, sex trafficking of a minor and domestic violence made against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs over the past three weeks,” their statement reads. “The gravity of the allegations against Combs underscore the ongoing need for accountability — and that the #MeToo movement is relevant and badly needed more than ever.”

UltraViolet Wants Diddy Kicked From The Grammys

“Not surprisingly,” they also add, “almost all of Combs’ brands have dropped him for his abusive and inexcusable behavior. But last month, the Grammys awarded Combs with his first-ever nomination as a lead artist in one of the two R&B album categories. We are calling on the Grammys to stop enabling abusers and to immediately rescind Combs’ nomination and invitation. Survivors don’t need to see that.” They go on, noting how challenging it can be for victims of abuse to come forward. UltraViolet emphasizes how for this reason among others, they “deserve our attention and our respect.”

Most recently, Diddy has been accused by an anonymous woman of gang-raping her, along with Harve Pierre and another unnamed man. The alleged assault took place in 2003, when she was only 17 years old. Diddy has since denied the allegations, claiming that amid his various sexual assault lawsuits, “Enough is enough.” What do you think of women’s advocacy group UltraViolet pushing for Diddy to get banned from the 2024 Grammys? GloRilla’s Abortion Joke Upsets Social Media Users

GloRilla is one of the younger rap divas making her presence felt at this time, meaning she still has some growing up to do when it comes to self-expression. The “F.N.F.” artist has a talent for putting her thoughts into lyrics that become hit songs, but there have been several occasions where her social media posts have landed Big Glo in hot water. The most recent instance was this past weekend when the 24-year-old suggested that she’s eligible for a membership at the abortion clinic after making so many visits.

“Stop asking am I next?” the CMG artist wrote on Twitter after Sexyy Red confirmed that she’s expecting. “Y’all know what I do. I damn near gotta membership at dat place,” she added. Glo obviously didn’t mention abortion by name in her post, but it didn’t take long for followers to infer what she was talking about. “Nah sis, not a good look 😭,” one triggered user replied to the rap diva’s post.

GloRilla’s Tweet Makes People Uncomfortable

“She just wants y’all to stop comparing her and let her live. To each [their] own,” another person declared in Glo’s defense. To be fair, the “Tomorrow 2” artist has spent almost her entire career having her petite frame compared to other women’s BBLs, not to mention their stage presence. For people to presume that she’s ready for children just because her contemporaries are having some of their own is likely frustrating for the rising star, who’s simply trying to craft her own identity in the industry.

Reactions Pour in from Concerned Users

John Legend Wants Men To Take A Stand For Women’s Rights

John Legend has never been one to not speak his mind. From his Twitter rants about former president Donald Trump to even his estranged friendship with Ye, the singer wants all the smoke. In recent years, Legend has been enjoying fatherhood, and putting out great music (so other guys can become fathers too). However, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t take the time to discuss politics and world issues.

The legendary singer recently sat with Time 100 and shared his thoughts regarding reproductive rights and other parts of being pro-choice. “We have to speak up for reproductive rights, absolutely,” John legend responds as cheers from the crowd rained down. The “Ordinary People” singer went on to say, “It’s not a pro-life agenda, it’s a pro-control over women’s reproductive choices agenda.” Additionally, Legend is referring to the Dobbs decision, which deems there is no constitutional right to abortion. Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, there have been more motions to limit women’s reproductive rights.

John Legend Gets Real About Women’s Reproductive Rights

“I think America, now that the Dobbs decision has come down, is realizing the level of control and authoritarianism that would be required to implement the so-called ‘pro-life’ agenda,” John Legend responds. Additionally Legend notes, “It’s trying to take America back to an era where women didn’t have autonomy or didn’t have control over their economic decisions and of course, their body.” He adds, “When you talk about miscarriages and late-term abortions, often, they’re the same thing.” John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen have had many difficulties when it comes to childbirth, which is understandable as to why Legend takes such a stance.

Legend’s wife shared last year that a miscarriage she had in 2020 was actually a late-term abortion needed to save her life. This prompted the interviewer to ask about what role men need to play in protecting those rights. The singer continues, “These conversations are life or death for these women.” “30 weeks. 35 weeks. When they have to make these wrenching decisions.” Legend shares. “It is the hardest decision they’ll make.” He notes how traumatic, painful, and harrowing the process is. These types of decisions aren’t easy to make for anyone, it’s great to see John Legend using his platform to shed light on what men need to do to support reproductive rights. Check out the rest of the interview and let HNHH know your thoughts on women’s rights.
