Nicki Minaj Crosses out Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, City Girls, and Doja Cat from Op-Ed

Nicki Minaj is without a doubt one of the best female hip-hop artists in the industry, but after a bizarre tweet in which she crossed out the names of other major female artists mentioned in an article praising her, fans are wondering if she might also be one of the most selfish.

The tweet stemmed from a lengthy feature op-ed written by Joshua Robinson at HotNewHipHop in which he described Minaj’s rise to success as well as detailed what about her sound sets her a step above most other female artists. However, Robinson also paid compliments to other current female hip-hop artists, writing: “Nicki Minaj’s presence — be it aural, digital, or visual — is absolutely enthralling, and when she’s on hiatus, you can tell. Despite the welcomed contributions of women like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, City Girls, and Doja Cat over the past few years, female rap still feels incomplete without Nicki Minaj’s presence and output, and that alone illustrates how important she is to Hip-Hop, as a genre, and as a culture.”

Minaj appeared to be pleased with the piece, but not with sharing the spotlight, sharing a screenshot of the article with the other artists’ names crossed out.

While her issues with Cardi B have been public for many years, she hasn’t appeared to have many issues with the other rappers. Naturally, social media had a lot to say about the commentary with some stating that Minaj was right in keeping the spotlight on herself while other say that she could have simply cut the screenshot off above the names of the other female artists.

None of the artists have made any public comment yet.

Adir Drops The Ball And Brings “TRENDSETTA” Back To Life

For those who don’t know yet, Adir is an artist from New York City who later found himself in LA. His hit song “TRENDSETTA” debuted back in 2021 but has now made its way back into the limelight due to recent influencers promoting it.

Adir’s “TRENDSETTA” starts out with his ad-libs that get the listen ready for the track. A few seconds later, the young artist starts singing about his Hollywood fame and how he is living out his dreams. So far the single has hit a quarter-million streams and is continuing to climb thanks to influencer support.

“TRENDSETTA” has blown up on Instagram as well as TikTok, and is even starting to trend on less popular platforms like Deezer and Pandora. When asked about the later success, Adir said, “I always knew it would pop, I just didn’t know when”.

SOURCE SPORTS: Pistons’ Saddiq Bey Drops Career-High 51 Against Orlando Magic

There has been a common theme in the NBA; lately, players are scoring 50 points. There have been eight in this month alone. There has been an even more theme for the Orlando Magic, players scoring 50 points against them. In its last two games, the Magic gave up two 50 point games.

On Tuesday night, Orlando gave up 60 to Kyrie Irving, and last night they gave up 51 to Saddiq Bey. Bey, the Detroit Pistons’ second-year small forward, torched the Orlando Magic in the Pistons 134-120 win.

Saddiq didn’t score as much as Kyrie, but he did get off to a blazing start as he did two nights ago. Irving killed them for 16, and Bey finished the first quarter with 21. Bey scored 30 points in the first half and followed up with 21 in the second half.

This 51 point outing for Bey is a new career-high for him, and this is the 13th different player to score 50 in the NBA. This month, the eight 50 point games are the most since December of 1962, when there were nine 50-point games.

There have been 17 50-point games this season, and Bey is the 13th player to pull the feat, matching the most in a season in NBA history. At 22, he is the youngest player with a 50-point game in Pistons history, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Again, who will be the next to drop 50?

Mooski reimagines Anthony Hamilton’s classic “Charlene” on the Anthony Hamilton sampled record. On the track, Mooski reflects on a failed relationship while pleading with his beloved for a second chance.

Mooski released his debut album, Melodic Therapy 4, last Friday which features the artist’s hit song “Track Star” and the remix featuring Chris Brown, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Yung Bleu.

Netflix Tests Out Fees to Crack Down on Password Sharing

Then world’s largest streaming service may soon get more (official) subscribers as Netflix announced today that it would begin a rollout to test an initiative that would crack down on illicit password-sharing.

In the past, Netflix had generally turned a blind eye to password sharing. Last spring, Netflix began implementing slightly stricter security protocols, prompting users to re-enter their login credentials, even if they had previously been logged onto a device. However, many viewers found ways to circumnavigate that measure, namely by re-entering their login and password.

This week, Netflix announced that it would be rolling out a pilot program in three markets (Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru). The new “add an extra member” feature would prompt Standard and Premium subscribers to add subsidiary accounts for up to two people they don’t live with, each with their own profile, personalized recommendations, login and password for about $2.99 USD per new account.

In an official statement on their website, the company explained the basics of the plan as well as the rationale behind the move, saying: “We’ve always made it easy for people who live together to share their Netflix account, with features like separate profiles and multiple streams in our Standard and Premium plans. While these have been hugely popular, they have also created some confusion about when and how Netflix can be shared. As a result, accounts are being shared between households – impacting our ability to invest in great new TV and films for our members.”

However, Netflix did not provide specific details about what they categorized as a household and how household members would be identified if they were not all on the home IP address (watching at work, at the gym, while traveling, etc.).

Netflix has not announced any plans to test any similar programs in the United States in the immediate near-term future.

As usual, social media had a lot to say about the proposed initiative.

Phife Dawg’s Estate Reveals Tracklist and Cover Art for ‘Forever’

The estate of iconic rapper Phife Dawg has released the album art and tracklist for his long-awaited posthumous album Forever. The album will be released on March 22nd, 2022, by AWAL, on the sixth anniversary of his change.

This Saturday, March 19th, The Estate will release the title track. The “Forever” single was recorded on March 19, 2016, and it was Phife Dawg’s final song before he transitioned a few days later.

On Wednesday, March 23rd, the Estate will conduct a Q&A and album listening event at the renowned SOBs in New York City in honor of Phife Dawg’s life, career, and new album. The private event will be hosted by Peter Rosenberg and will feature some very special guests for a classic night of family, hip-hop music, and storytelling. Tickets are available for purchase HERE.

The four-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum New York-born MC and member of A Tribe Called Quest spent time working on the album, collaborating with trusted colleagues, and amassing a repertoire of songs emblematic of his art before his untimely death in 2016. He painstakingly crafted a selection of songs that were distinguished by his trademark verbal fireworks, funny adlibs, biting social commentary, and unexpectedly introspective confessions. His Estate is ready to disclose his pure vision and final word as a solo rapper, with the approval of his family and his most loyal collaborator and business partner, Dion Liverpool (Executive Producer), under their imprint Smokin’ Needles Records. Last year’s single “Nutshell PART 2” (with Busta Rhymes and Redman) will be included on the album.

Mike Tyson’s Cannabis Company Markets Edible Gummies Shaped Like Holyfield’s Ear

You can’t deny the genius of whoever came up with this idea.

According to reports across the cannabis industry, Mike Tyson’s canna-company, Tyson 2.0, is set to launch a new product called “Mike Bites”, which are THC-infused gummies that are shaped like a piece of an ear that’s been bitten off.

Of course, the product is derived from the infamous incident in which Tyson bit off Holyfield’s right ear in the third round after a head butt from Holyfield in the 1997 WBA rematch bout. Tyson would lose the fight by disqualification and his right to fight in the state of Nevada.

In 2022, Tyson’s cannabis company Tyson 2.0 distributes to over 100 California dispensaries and it is noted that the edibles are officially for sale in California.

[LISTEN] Ma$e Slams Diddy On Latest Track “Oracle 2: The Liberation of Mason Betha”

Those who have closely observed the tattered evolution of Bad Boy Records –including Shyne, Loon and G-Dep’s prison bids, Biggie and Cracg Mack’s deaths and the disappearance of former Bad Boy front man Ma$e and his reappearance as a pastor, many already saw this coming. Malcolm X enthusiasts would call this a case of chickens coming home to roost.

Pastor Mason Betha wasted no time going after DIddy, his former boss and and cohort on his latest offering “Oracle 2: The Liberation of Mason Betha”, in which Ma$e takes jabs at Diddy’s integrity, his Harlem roots and even says that he exploited the death of Hip Hop legend Notorious B.I.G.

Mase’s track comes on the heels of some very alarming statements made by a couple of the Making The Band contestants from the premiere season, with one, Freddy P, claiming that his interaction with the Bad Boy founder eventually led to him wanting to commit suicide.
