Tyga and Avril Lavigne have decided to split, according to sources. The split described as a mutual decision, occurred recently and was confirmed by unnamed sources. This comes after Lavigne’s previous engagement with rapper Mod Sun ended. The now ex-couple Tyga and Avril Lavigne, who made their relationship public in March 2023, capturing the attention […]
News that Tyga and Avril Lavigne were an item immediately went viral and spread like wildfire. But now, apparently, their romance has come to an end… but they still remain friends.
The two musicians went public with their relationship back in March after they were seen exchanging a kiss on the lips during Paris Fashion Week. Tyga even gave the “Complicated” singer a custom diamond chain worth almost $80K. The celebrity jewelry by the name of Erica Da Jeweler revealed it featured 50 carats of white diamonds, black diamonds, and pink sapphires.
Tyga even made it Instagram official by posting a photo to his 40.7 million followers on Instagram with the caption “shout out to Dallas.”
It seems the two musicians have now gone their separate ways just a couple of weeks ago. TMZ reports that it was a mutual decision, and no negativity was attached to the split. Avril was previously engaged to recording artist Mod Sun, while Tyga is still co-parenting with Black Chyna. The two share a 10-year-old son named King Cairo.
On the music tip, Tyga recently unveiled his new ” Platinum ” record featuring YG. The two are slated to release a joint album in the near future.
Musicians Tyga and Avril Lavigne found love in a hopeless place back in March. Since then, the “Platinum” rapper and his punk rock royalty girlfriend have taken their whirlwind fling around the globe attending fashion shows and more together. Supposedly as a token of his love, Tyga even purchased Lavigne an $80,000 custom pink and black diamond necklace.
However, according to TMZ, their chaos-inducing romance has come to an end: The outlet reported Tyga and Avril Lavigne have broken up. A source close to the pair told the publisher that despite their split, both parties will remain friends.
The entertainer’s coupling devastated Lavigne’s ex-fiance Mod Sun. The musician took to Instagram to write, “In 1 week, my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken.” During a show, Mod Sun’s fans chanted, “F*ck Tyga.”
Although Lavigne and Tyga’s fans weren’t necessarily against their partnership, they did verbalize their confusion given that they have both been linked to different members of the Jenner/Kardashian family. Tyga has dated Kylie Jenner. Lavigne’s ex-boyfriend is Kylie’s older brother Brody Jenner. Kylie’s other brother Rob Kardashian has a daughter with Blac Chyna (now known as Angela White), with whom Tyga also shares a son.
Tyga and YG are back with their highly anticipated track, “Platinum,” giving fans a taste of what’s in store on their upcoming album.
The release follows “Run,” “Go Loko,” and the recent drop “West Coast Weekend” featuring Blxst, showcasing their undeniable chemistry and power as a pair.
With “Platinum,” Tyga and YG combine their distinct styles, blending a reimagined and intense classical instrumental with a rhythmic beat and flawlessly delivered verses. The high-energy track is set to become both a club banger and a California party anthem.
Accompanying the release is a visually stunning music video that takes viewers on a journey through the streets of San Francisco and Los Angeles. True to the west coast aesthetic, the video features vintage cars, vibrant dancers, and breathtaking scenery.

Back in March, during Tyga’s rollicking Rolling Loud set, his fellow Compton rapper YG popped out for a surprise performance of their 2019 collaboration “Go Loko,” after which they announced they’ve got a new joint album in the works. True to their word, they followed up last week with the Blxst-featuring single “West Coast Weekend.” While that song channeled laid-back some picnic vibes typical of LA hip-hop, their new single, “Platinum,” goes the other way, tapping into the street-stomping gangbanging culture which is equally as emblematic of life on West Coast.
The video for the new song is fittingly sun-drenched — which is impressive, considering what the weather has been like out here lately — and proud of that heritage. Lowriders cruise by, a huge crowd gathers to admire dancers doing the Blood walk, and the duo stomps the streets outside the Oracle Arena in the Bay Area. All the while, they insist they’re going to go platinum, which both have plenty of experience doing.
The full-length album — which has yet to be titled — is likely due sometime later this year, but for now, Tyga and YG have the West Coast party scene sewn up for the summer. You can watch the video for “Platinum” above.

Tyga has been making waves recently as he was spotted visiting Blink-182’s Travis Barker on June 6. This dynamic duo has previously collaborated on the rockstar’s hit single “100.” Now they are teaming up once again, but this time for Tyga’s upcoming single. Since his album Legendary in 2019, the Compton rapper has been focusing […]
Blxst and Tyga are rapidly becoming one of my favorite combos in music. Their previous collab, “Chosen” with Ty Dolla Sign, has been a staple of my warm-weather playlists for the past two years and now, they’ve joined forces once again, just in time to contribute to this year’s picnic soundtracks. Joining them this time around is Tyga’s fellow Compton rapper YG for the throwback park jam “West Coast Weekend” (yes, I am officially claiming Tyga as a Comptonite now. It’s been long enough.)
The track samples a familiar funk staple — everybody with an uncle over fifty knows Cameo’s 1986 neck-breaker “Candy” — while Blxst croons a hook ready-made for summertime house parties. Tyga and YG have both stepped up their respective rap games a lot in the past couple of years, but here, the vibes do the heavy lifting — which just makes their efforts all the more admirable. YG’s verse especially is packed with clever wordplay and interesting use of quirky pockets in the beat that makes me even more curious about the duo’s upcoming joint album, which they announced at Rolling Loud earlier this year. Blxst also sounds great here, stoking anticipation for his own album which is presumably dropping soon.

Summer is almost here and things are heating up for one of this year’s least-expected couples. Earlier this week, pop star Avril Lavigne posted a random photo dump of casual shots including one of her and Tyga looking very cozy together.
The Instagram post was simply captioned “Lyfe Lately” and was followed by a black and orange heart. The photos showed Lavigne with various friends and by herself (in one photo showing off a black g-string). However, the photo that got most tongues wagging was one of her and Tyga in an embrace on an empty stage.
While the “Girlfriend” singer has not directly addressed her relationship with Tyga, the two have been spotted together numerous times over the past few months and Tyga even gifted her a custom chain (reportedly with $80,000). Lavigne is seen wearing the chain in the first photo of the Instagram carousel.
Prior to her surprise relationship with Tyga, Lavigne was engaged to the artist Mod Sun. The two called it quits shortly before her relationship with the “Rack City” singer went public.
At the start of 2023, Avril Lavigne was under the impression that she’d be walking down the aisle with Mod Sun waiting at the end as her groom. Now, she’s rocking an $80,000 chain which recently came her way as a gift from Tyga. The Canadian was getting up close and personal with him shortly before the end of her engagement became public knowledge. We previously saw the pair take over Paris Fashion Week back in February, and now, the “Rack City” hitmaker continues to make regular appearances in Lavigne’s Instagram photo dumps.
On Thursday (May 11), the blonde beauty’s feed lit up with yet another carousel, this one kicking off with a selfie showing off her flashy jewelry. “Lyfe Lately ,” the 38-year-old wrote in her caption, keeping things going with a cheeky photo of her booty in a black g-string in the second slot. Afterward comes some outdoor action from the singer, as well as a sweet photo of her and Tyga sharing a passionate embrace on stage in an empty auditorium.
Following that comes further evidence of Lavigne’s punk princess persona via her flipping off the camera, wearing distressed tights, and shooting smoke out at her audience from on stage. At this point, the “Girlfriend” hitmaker has said little publicly about her relationship with Tyga, though their increasing frequency in each other’s lives speaks for itself. Avril appears to be feeling herself and is obviously having plenty of fun in her photo dump, which seems to only attract more haters her way.
“Does she need to act dirty to be professionally recognized?” one of them asked in her comments after catching sight of the blonde beauty’s thirst trap. “That’s sad. Authenticity is lost.” Thankfully, positive responses like “Saw you last night and it made my life honestly!! Your music saved me 15 years ago ,” surely outweigh the negativity. Check out Avril Lavigne’s latest IG post above, and tell us your thoughts on her chain from Tyga in the comments.
