'The Last of Us' is Second-Largest Debut for HBO, Trails 'House of the Dragon'

The Last of Us is already a TV sensation. HBO’s new series, an adaptation of the insanely popular video game, has become the second-biggest debut for the premium network in the last thirteen years. The show’s debut only follows House of the Dragon.

According to Variety, The Last of Us‘ first episode pulled in 4.7 million U.S. viewers across the linear HBO channel and the streaming service HBO Max. It is the second-largest opening for an HBO show since 2010’s Boardwalk Empire.

The Last of Us premiere has topped performances from HBO staples like Euphoria, Chornobyl, Westworld, Game of Thrones, and True Detective.

“We are thrilled to see fans of the series and game alike experience this iconic story in a new way, and we extend our gratitude to them for helping to make it a success,” Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO & HBO Max Content, said. “Congratulations to Craig, Neil and the brilliant cast and crew who worked tirelessly to bring this show to life. We look forward to fans around the world enjoying the rest of the season.”

According to HBO: The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

New episodes arrive on Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO and HBO Max.

Ice-T Reacts to Rumors That He’s Beefing With Law & Order Co-star Christopher Meloni

f

Ice-T and Law & Order SVU co-star Christopher Meloni cleared the air regarding rumors that the two have been beefing on the set.

According to a tweet from Meloni, Ice-T sent him a screenshot from an email he had received that said that the two had been beefing since Meloni’s return to the Law & Order franchise.

“To Whom It May Concern,” the email started. “The National ENQUIRER is preparing to publish a story reporting actors Ice-T and Christopher Meloni are feuding since the latter’s return to the franchise.”

The email adds that the source of the rumored beef is due to Ice-T growing envious of Meloni for the attention he has been getting.

Ice-T took to Twitter, where he quoted a Tweet Meloni had posted of the email. “Just sent this email over to my guy @Chris_Meloni,” Ice-T wrote on Twitter. “Clownass MFs trying to make up Drama outta thin air… WOW… MFs are really on that BS.”

Meloni left the long-running show in 2011 in its 12th season. However, he returned to SVU in 2021 with his own spinoff show, Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Madonna Tongued Jack Black, Re-Created An NSFW Photo With Lil Wayne, And More In A Wild New Tour Promo Video

Today, Madonna announced The Celebration Tour, a trek that will see Madonna playing hits from across her four-decade career. Madonna, ever the shock-friendly performer, unveiled the news with a wild new video featuring Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Diplo, Judd Apatow, Eric Andre, Amy Schumer, Bob The Drag Queen, Kate Berlant, Larry Owens, and Meg Stalter.

The five-minute clip features a truth-or-dare game between the celebrities as they sit around a table. Madonna kicks things off by daring Schumer to simulate how she would lick her husband’s butt, which she does by not doing it. Andre then dared Diplo to dip his balls in his margarita and drink it, and he obliged. Diplo then turned the tables back on Madonna, who he instructed to “tongue-kiss” Black, and indeed, she did just that.

There are some more shenanigans from there — including Madonna, Wayne, and Black posing for a racy photo — but the whole thing ends with one final dare, from Schumer to Madonna: to go on a world tour. Of course, given the purpose of the video, Madonna accepted.

In a statement, Madonna said of the upcoming trek, “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for.”

Ice-T Reacts After Reports That He’s Beefing With “Law & Order” Co-Star Chris Meloni

Ice-T and Chris Meloni cleared the air following rumors that there’s tension between the two on the set of Law & Order.

The Gangsta rap pioneer denied that he and Meloni had any sort of feud since the latter returned to the show.

“Just sent this email over to my guy @Chris_Meloni,” Ice-T wrote on Twitter. “Clownass MFs trying to make up Drama outta thin air… WOW… MFs are really on that BS.”

Ice-T’s statement came shortly after Chris Meloni’s tweet, which included a screenshot of an email he received from The National Enquirer.

“The National ENQUIRER is preparing to publish a story reporting actors Ice-T and Christopher Meloni are feuding since the latter’s return to the franchise,” the e-mail read. “Sources told The ENQUIRER that the former rapper has grown envious of the attention that Mr. Meloni has received since coming back.

Meloni wrote, “So…⁦@FINALLEVEL was sent this. He was kind enough to let me know we were feuding.”

Ice-T responded, “LOL… Clownass MFs.. Chris is my MF man! F’em They just make BS up. Crazy.”

Chris Meloni made a return to Law & Order: SVU in 2011 during the show’s 12th season. In 2021, he explained that his reason to leave the show was due to issues with his contract. However, he returned two years ago, reuniting on screen with Ice-T, once again.

Unlike his co-star, Ice-T’s had a historical run on the NBC show. Ice-T recently celebrated his role on Law & Order: SVU in October. The Gangsta rap icon officially spent over 20 years as Detective Fin Tutuola since joining the cast in 2000.

Chrisean Rock & Blueface Face Backlash As Public Calls Out Zeus

Popular blogs have shared Crazy in Love as Zeus amasses more viewers by the hour, but in mentions and comment sections, the pushback is palpable. For months, critics have called out the couple for their often hostile behavior toward one another. Still, the pair haven’t separated and continue to play out their domestic affairs for a profit.

The latest episodes of the series have caused even more of an uproar. Blueface and Rock are seen confronting one another’s families, and things quickly turn violent in both instances.

During a recent interview with Angela Yee’s Lip Service, Rock was asked about her relationship being labeled as “toxic.” She seemingly dismissed the claim.

“I don’t have a dead-end situation. It’s not one time I can’t bring God into a situation,” she said. “I can pray with this n*gga, I can make money with this n*gga, I can travel with this n*gga, I really feel like that’s longevity.”

Some have accused Zeus of capitalizing on domestic violence and glorifying it as a normal part of relationships. The network hasn’t answered the ongoing claims.

I’m still happy to do what I’m doing, and I’m still in the music business. It’s great to still be able to be in the entertainment music business in a different capacity.”

Stephen A. Smith Opens Up About Struggling With A Learning Disability

Stephen A. Smith is one of the most well-known sports journalists in the entire world. He is a staple of the television show First Take where he gets to let off his hot takes that tend to enrage sports fans. Overall, he is a beloved figure and without him, sports talk TV would look a lot different.

This year, Smith is dropping his very own memoir called Straight Shooter. The book is certainly going to be fun to read as it will give us some insight into the mind of Smith. In fact, Rolling Stone recently got an excerpt from the book which describes Stephen A.’s struggles with a learning disability.

Stephen A. Gets Honest

Per Smith:

“From the time I was six, I thought I was stupid. Although I talked well — and a lot — and articulated my thoughts fluidly enough that some folks swore one day I’d become a lawyer or a public speaker, it was all a facade. I couldn’t comprehend what I was reading, a deficit that my oratory skills only served to hide.

It got worse each year, stunting my ability and willingness to grow intellectually. Before long, I was in the second grade but reading at a first-grade level. Then I was in the third grade — still at a first-grade reading level.”

Smith went on to note that when he had to repeat the fourth grade, he overheard his dad say “The boy just ain’t smart. He’s not going anywhere. Accept it.” Subsequently, Smith found out he had dyslexia, and from there, he was able to excel in everything he did.

“Fuck my brothers, I got my n***a right here,” Rock replied, which fanned the flames further. From there, Blueface and his brother get ready to fight each other but security intervenes.

Blueface and Chrisean’s TV show has produced many viral clips in recent times. Crazy In Love provided an in-depth look into Blueface’s infamous altercation with Chrisean Rock’s father. Last week, the show also explored when Chrisean smacked Blue in the head with a glass cup and later, cared for his wounds.

Though Crazy In Love produced plenty of captivating moments, Wack 100 previously expressed his opinions on Blueface and Chrisean’s relationship. During a recent episode, Wack called Chrisean a “distraction,” claiming Blueface hasn’t had a hit record since she came into the picture.
