British singer and songwriter Jorja Smith has amassed an immense base since her 2018 debut album, Lost & Found. Although Jorja’s last EP, Be Right Back, was made available in 2021, the demand for a featured-length follow-up has continued to grow. Now, the wait is nearly over.

Jorja’s sophomore album, Falling Of Flying, will hit streaming platforms later this week. Here’s everything to know about it, including the release date, tracklist, and more.

During an interview with Billboard in August, Jorja spoke about the inspiration behind the album’s title. “I don’t really have an in-between,” she said. “I’m either happy or sad, obsessed or completely unfocused, up or down. I feel like I’m flying in my career, and then other times, I feel like I’m falling because the pressure can feel [like] too much.”

Jorja Smith is one of those artists that everyone is always demanding music from. However, she has never been one to go heavy with the releases. For instance, she only has two albums out. This includes 2018’s Lost & Found and 2021’s Be Right Back. Overall, she is someone who likes to take her time with her art, and as a fan, you cannot help but respect that. It may take a long time between releases, but when something does drop, you can be sure that it is going to be fantastic and from the heart.

Regardless, fans have still been asking for a new song of some sort. The last time she dropped a track, it was back in 2022 with “Rose Rouge.” Consequently, many have been saying it is time for something new. Subsequently, Jorja Smith opted to answer those requests as she has come right back with “Try Me.” This new single was released this past week, and it is already amassing a ton of praise on social media.

With this track, Jorja Smith starts off with a driving rhythm section. These drums lead into a beautiful instrumental that truly helps the artist show off her great voice. Overall, Smith has always had great vocal chops. However, they are most certainly on full display with this latest effort. As for the songwriting, it is powerful and it is enhanced by the music video above.

The Weeknd Delivers His Video For ‘Try Me’ To Celebrate The Three-Year Anniversary Of ‘My Dear Melancholy’

The Weeknd has spent much of March celebrating some big anniversaries. There was the ten-year of his debut mixtape, House Of Balloons, which helped him break into the R&B world. Last March, The Weeknd released his most recent album, After Hours, to widespread acclaim. Finally, back on this date in 2018, he dropped the only EP of his career, My Dear Melancholy. To celebrate the latter, The Weeknd dropped a new video for one of the EP’s tracks, “Try Me.” It’s a fairly simple one that finds the Canadian singer lip-synching the lyrics to the song into the front-facing camera of his phone while he sits in the backseat of a car.

The video comes after The Weeknd teased that new music would arrive soon, albeit in a unique way. “new song living in NFT space. coming soon…,” he wrote in a post on Twitter. Whenever it arrives, the singer will join the likes of Ja Rule and Grimes as artists who have taken advantage of the NFT space. He also hinted at more releases as a part of his After Hours era. This was news he also delivered on Twitter, where he wrote, “p.s. this chapter isn’t quite done yet,” adding, “still tying some loose ends.”
