‘First Take’ Floated The Theory That Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Are Not Actually Dating

The biggest story in sports and pop culture right now involves Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his flirtation with Taylor Swift. Kelce has made clear that he is … let’s say a fan of the most famous person in the world right now, and there sure seems to be a lot of smoke around the two of them dating, most notably that Swift went to the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears this week, sat with Kelce’s mom, celebrated when he scored, and left the game with him.

Kelce addressed the whole thing on the most recent episode of his podcast, but it appears that there is one person who thinks something smells funny here. That person is noted yeller Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, who took some time during his weekly First Take segment about stuff that made him mad to float his theory that all of this is about publicity.

“LOOK AT THIS!” Russo said, as eloquently as ever before — and maybe I am just not hearing this correctly — just screaming out a bunch of letters in combinations no one has ever put together before. He then got back on track.

“SHE WANTS TO ENJOY HER SON,” Russo said. “AND WHO TAKES THEIR GIRLFRIEND, TWO MINUTES INTO A RELATIONSHIP, TO VISIT MOMMY AND DADDY? NOBODY DOES THAT! AND THEN WE’RE GONNA SHOW ‘EM WALKING OUT? AND NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN, SHE’S A BIG KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FAN. SHE’S NEVER HEARD OF LENNY DAWSON.”

To be clear, he might have said someone other than Len Dawson and I just am once again not hearing him correctly, but really, that part is not important here. (Well, it is kinda important in that it’s crappy to pull the “I bet she has never heard of THIS athlete!” card.) (Also, Swift is a well-documented fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.) While Stephen A. Smith and Marcus Spears attempted to compose themselves, Molly Qerim prodded Russo a little bit.

“I can’t believe you’re mad about Travis and Taylor,” she said. “They found love.”

“FOUND LOVE?” Russo responded. “WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY? FOUND LOVE? ARE YOU NUTS? YOU CAN’T BELIEVE THAT. FOUND LOVE AFTER FIVE MINUTES? PLEASE. OH IT’S … FOUND LOVE? OH MY GOD, FOUND LOVE? YOU KNOW WHAT THEY FOUND? LET’S GET SOME PUBLICITY, THAT’S WHAT THEY FOUND.”

Travis Kelce Jersey Sales Get Massive Spike After Taylor Swift Appears At Chiefs Game

Travis Kelce jerseys experienced a 400% increase in sales earlier this week as the rumors that he was dating Taylor Swift were all but confirmed. Swift was spotted at the Chiefs game against the Bears, rocking a team jersey while watching the game from a luxury box. Swift could be seen reacting happily to appearing on the broadcast while hanging out with Kelce’s mom. It came a few days after Kelce publicly invited Swift to attend. “I told her that I’ve seen her rock a stage in Arrowhead and she might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead. We’ll see what happens in the near future,” Kelce told The Pat McAfee Show last Thursday.

Elsewhere, Kelce saw his social media following increase by 300,000 as Swifties turned their attention to the star tight end. Kelce did not explicitly confirm the rumors that they were dating but did speak on Swift during his latest podcast episode. “I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her. She looked amazing. Everybody was talking about her in a great light. And on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans.” The Chiefs absolutely crushed the Bears 41-10.

Kelce is next in action on Sunday night when the Chiefs take on the ailing Jets. After missing the first game of the season, Kelce has 95 yards and two touchdowns on 11 receptions. Meanwhile, the Chiefs are 2-1 after dropping their Kelce-less season opener. It’s unknown if Swift is going to hit up any more Chiefs games before she heads to Brazil for her last Eras Tour shows of the year in November. Of course, if they are dating, they won’t get much of the offseason together. Swift is spending most of 2024 touring Asia and Europe.

Taylor Swift Yelled ‘Let’s F**king Go!’ After Travis Kelce Caught A Touchdown Against The Bears

The Kansas City Chiefs spent Sunday afternoon dogwalking the Chicago Bears up and down the field, as they led 34-0 at halftime. However, the Chiefs enjoying a get-right game against the hapless Bears was a secondary story to many, as the rumored romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reached a fever pitch when Swift showed up to the game in a luxury box alongside Kelce’s mom.

The superstar tight end was, rather surprisingly, not a huge part of the offensive explosion in the first half, but he eventually got in on the fun in the third quarter as the Bears somehow lost track of him in the back of the end zone to let the Chiefs go up 41-0 on them. Naturally, the FOX cameras cut quickly to Taylor Swift in the suite and captured her extremely fired up, chest bumping the guy next to her and then very clearly yelling “LET’S F**KING GO!” as she celebrated Kelce getting a touchdown catch.
