Tyler, The Creator Teases Camp Flog Gnaw 2023 In Kendrick Lamar’s New Music Video

Tyler, the Creator teased the announcement of Camp Flog Gnaw 2023 while making a cameo in Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem’s new music video, “The Hillbillies.” In doing so, he displayed a “Camp Flog Gnaw 2023” button on a jacket in front of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Tyler didn’t provide any further details in the video.

As for the new track, Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem interpolate Drake’s “Sticky” off his 2022 album Honestly, Nevermind, while sampling Bon Iver’s 2020 single, “PDLIF.” It’s the latest of several tracks Lamar and Keem have teamed up for, following “N95,” “Die Hard,” “Range Brothers,” “Savior,” “Nile,” and “Family Ties.” For the latter, the pair took home the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance.

Lamar and Keem will be performing at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee from June 15 to 18. Keem previously supported Lamar on The Big Steppers tour in 2022. It ended up becoming the highest-grossing rap tour of all time with a total revenue of $110,886,026. Lamar promoted his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, with the shows.

While Tyler, the Creator didn’t collaborate on the album, he did have massive praise for it during a Converse All-Star Series. “[It’s] so open and honest that some people can’t listen to it,” Tyler said at the time. “Because they probably feel like he’s looking at them in their eyes. And they’re like, ‘Uhhh, I can’t panic. I can’t listen to this. Put on something else so I can hit my dougie.’” He added: “We gotta cut the bullshit and be more honest. And that’s what Kendrick is doing with his new album.”

“The Hillbillies” Earns Kendrick Lamar & Baby Keem Mostly Praise From Twitter

Much to his fans’ enjoyment, Kendrick Lamar is making his presence felt his month. 2023 has been a quiet year so far for the father of two, following the massive success he found in 2022 with his long-awaited Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album. He likely won’t be turning out a full-length project anytime soon, but he did make his voice heard on the remix of Beyonce’s “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM,” which arrived just a few dates into her RENAISSANCE World Tour.

That taste of Lamar was enough to satisfy our itch – for now – but he wasn’t done there. On Tuesday (May 30), he and little cousin Baby Keem joined forces for yet another collaborative track. In the past, we’ve heard them connect on “Savior” from the DAMN. hitmaker’s aforementioned LP, as well as “family ties” and “range brothers” on Keem’s The Melodic Blue. Now, they’ve joined forces for “The Hillbillies,” which arrived exclusively on YouTube along with a video featuring an appearance from Tyler, the Creator.

Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar Reunite on “The Hillbillies”

Not only does the OFWGKTA head show off his iconic style and unique dance moves, but he also confirms that the next CAMP FLOG GNAW event will be taking place at Dodger’s Stadium later this year. The news was incredibly exciting to Twitter users, who have been praising Tyler for his work. As for Lamar and Keem, not everyone is a fan of “The Hillbillies,” though many are pleased with the interpolation of Drake’s “Sticky” from Honestly, Nevermind along with the use of a Bon Iver sample.

“It’s cool but if this is the single for a collab album then I’m worried,” one person expressed, seemingly expecting more from the legendary lyricists. “Yeah that Kendrick Lamar x Baby Keem collab album is bound to happen at some point,” someone else chimed in, hopefully speaking the project into existence.

Kendrick Lamar & Baby Keem Stun Fans With New Song “The Hillbillies”

Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem are a family duo that has certainly impressed us over the last couple of years. Overall, Kendrick is one of the most legendary artists in hip-hop. Moreover, Baby Keem is an artist who has been building quite the resume. In the past, they have teamed up on songs such as “Family Ties” and even “Range Brothers.” Additionally, Baby Keem was featured throughout Kendrick’s 2022 hit album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Needless to say, they love working together and will continue to do so.

If you know anything about Kendrick, it is that he typically likes to keep a low profile between projects. Once he releases an album, it is a while before you get to see him again. However, it appears as though he will no longer be going that route. We know this because today, the pgLang YouTube channel released a music video for a new song called “The Hillbillies.” As you can see, this track contains both Kendrick and Baby Keem. EVILGIANE provides the production for this track, and as you will hear, it is quite hypnotic.

Kendrick Lamar And Baby Keem Are Back

Throughout the song, both Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem deliver some braggadocios bars. Lamar takes the hook and also provides some solid bars in between as Keem intersperses his voice throughout. It is clear that the two opted to have a ton of fun on this song. Towards the end of the track, they trade bars, and their chemistry is made apparent. Furthermore, the music video depicts Kendrick and Keem traveling the world. Of course, they both went on a world tour together, so there were plenty of opportunities to get some footage for the video.

Moving forward, it is unclear whether or not a collaborative album is on the horizon. In the comments to the YouTube video, it is clear that that’s what fans want. However, neither Keem nor Kendrick has revealed anything of the sort. In the meantime, let us know what you think of this song, in the comments section below.
