Usher Releases Brand New Album “Coming Home” Ahead Of Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Usher is gearing up for a big weekend. He’s preparing to take center stage at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show. However, he not only is getting ready to grace the audience with a spectacular performance but also unveils his latest musical masterpiece, Coming Home. This marks Usher’s ninth studio album and a significant milestone in his illustrious career, as it is his first release since 2016’s Hard II Love.

The timing of Coming Home couldn’t be more timely for Usher, aligning with a full-circle moment in his journey. Having concluded two residencies with a total of 100 shows in Las Vegas in late 2023, Usher’s Super Bowl halftime show in Sin City feels like a triumphant homecoming. This moment is further amplified by the fact that Usher is celebrating an impressive 30 years in the music industry this year, adding an extra layer of significance to this phase in his career. Throughout his three-decade-long career since his self-titled debut album, Usher has consistently demonstrated his talents. Ranging from soulful R&B to infectious club anthems and chart-topping pop hits.

Furthermore, Coming Home stands as a testament to his versatility as an artist today. Showcasing a blend of contemporary sounds and collaborative efforts with newer artists such as Summer Walker, Latto, and BTS’ Jung Kook. For example, “Good Good,” which features Summer Walker and 21 Savage is a post-breakup anthem. This song was released as a single prior to the album dropping. However, the album serves as the perfect backdrop for Usher’s just-announced Past Present Future Tour, set to take him on a journey across North America later this year. With a huge catalogue of music spanning his entire career, the tour promises to be a celebration of Usher’s evolution as an artist.

Coming Home not only marks a musical odyssey for Usher but also encapsulates the essence of his enduring artistry. As the album resonates with themes of love and romance, Usher invites listeners to join him on a nostalgic yet forward-looking exploration of his musical legacy, making Coming Home a pivotal chapter in his illustrious career. Cardi B Reveals Her Desire To Headline The Super Bowl Halftime Show

Over the past few Super Bowls, artists from hip-hop and R&B are taking over Super Bowl halftime. Just last year, Rihanna made a triumphant return to the music world. Not by releasing a song or a project, but by performing on one of the biggest stages in America. That shows how in demand this type of music is for any major event. Rihanna has not released any solo material since 2017 and she still was asked to perform. With so many people listening to both genres around the world, Cardi B can be the next artist to take over the show.

Cardi B is easily one of the biggest names period, even with no album since her debut in 2018. However, the hits are endless. Tracks like “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “WAP,” are mega hits. That is partially what you must have to dominate the super stage. But besides all of her accomplishments, this is not the first time she has thought about this.

Rihanna’s ASL Interpreter Goes Viral For Epic Performance

Rihanna isn’t the only star of the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show. ASL interpreter Justina Miles has gone viral for her epic performance signing RiRi’s best hits. Her flare and style added spice to the performance, and it’s evident that Miles had a blast on the job. Miles has made history as the first female deaf interpreter to participate in the halftime show. This isn’t Miles’s only big win, however, as the talented and outgoing interpreter also holds a silver medal as part of the USA’s Deaflympics 4×100 track relay team. She was also the valedictorian in high school.

At 20 years old, the Tik Tok star is already making a big name for herself. Along with Rihanna’s performance, Miles also signed “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” sung by Sheryl Lee Ralph. In a halftime show press conference, Miles signed how her work is “not only for me to share this experience with the whole world, but to really bring that empowerment to millions and millions of Black deaf people all over the country who’ve never really seen that before. I feel that is truly lifting every voice, even my voice.” This is the first year that the Super Bowl has featured deaf ASL interpreters. Miles was joined by Colin Denny and Academy Award winner Troy Kotsur.

ASL Interpreter Steals The Show

Miles has amassed a following on social media for her ASL interpretations of popular songs. Even though she’s hard of hearing, nothing has stopped the Philadelphia native from connecting the deaf community to music. Even with this remarkable success at such a young age, Miles has big plans for the future. She currently is a nursing student at Bowie State University (a school that features notable alumni like Wale and Toni Braxton).

In an interview with CNBC, Miles shared powerful words of wisdom as she said “not to let any obstacles prevent you from achieving your dreams, and to always believe in yourself to go beyond.” With the Super Bowl garnering over 100 million views nationwide, we sure do hope to see more of Miles spreading inclusion in other notable events.
