Stephen A. Smith Says Death Is Too Good For Larry Nassar

Stephen A. Smith is someone who does not hold back on his opinions. Overall, it is his mentality when it comes to broadcasting that has gotten him so far in his career. At this point, he is the one keeping the lights on over at ESPN. Although this is a sentiment we have shared quite often, it still remains true. Without Smith, the network would not be experiencing the same kinds of success. First Take is their biggest show, and with Smith at the helm, it has truly taken off. Needless to say, they want him for the long haul.

Now, Stephen A. has his very own podcast that allows him to talk about whatever he wants. Sometimes, the conversations on this podcast can get NSFW. On other occasions, he speaks about topics from the sports world that wouldn’t otherwise be covered by First Take. This always makes for some great commentary, and yesterday, fans were subjected to just that. Below, you can see Stephen A. speaking on the Larry Nassar story. As we reported, the convicted sexual deviant had been stabbed numerous times in prison.

Stephen A. Goes Off

Overall, very few people cared about Larry Nassar’s fate. Although what happened to him was violent, there is little empathy from the general public when it comes to child molesters. Consequently, you can imagine how Stephen A. very much held the same opinion here. After all, Nassar is known for molesting members of the USA Gymnastics team, who are all household names. In the video above, Stephen A. made it clear that he believes death is simply too good for Nassar. He wants the man to get beat up every single day, but he doesn’t want him to die. Overall, Smith feels like it would be an easy way out.

Although some may say this is a harsh take on it all. Most would probably stand in solidarity with Smith. Let us know what you think of his opinion, down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world.

Stephen A. Smith Defends Damian Lillard’s Miami Heat Trade Demand

The Damian Lillard saga continues. While the Blazers have asked teams to send their “best offers”, Lillard’s agent has been warning teams not to make offers for the star. According to his agent, teams who are not the Miami Heat will be receiving an “unhappy” version of Lillard who will not be playing his best basketball.

However, Lillard’s camp are also in a tough position. Despite the influence that comes with his longevity with the club, he has very little power in the trade discussions. Lillard is under contract for two years, having already exercised his player option for 2024-25. The 2023/24 season is still months away, meaning that there is very little threat of Lillard sitting out games. Furthermore, Lillard doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract. This means that he gets absolutely no say in where he’s heading either.

Stephen A Says Lillard Has Earned The Right To Dictate Trade

“Damian Lillard has earned the right to want out,” Smith began. “More importantly, a player of his caliber has earned the right to go where he wants to go. And if people are gonna open their mouth and sit up and say ‘Well hey, if you’re gonna give the impression that you’re not going to be happy.’ Well listen, they’re probably not lying but so what? Why should he go some place where he’s not going to be happy? Listen, he is good in Portland. He wanted them to be a better franchise. He wanted them to win, he wanted them to put the pieces in place. In Portland, you’re not going to be able to go out there and recruit marquee free agents. Since you can’t get anyone to come there, you’re going to have to go elsewhere.”

It’s a sentiment echoed by many fans and figures around the league. Lillard put his heart into playing his best basketball in Portland. He ends his time in Portland as a seven-time all-star and averaging 25.2 points per game. Furthermore, he comes off the best season of his career. He scored 32.2 points per game, third in the league. However, the Blazers need to try and save face, not acquiescing to the demands of their star player. Despite this, it seems that we are nowhere near a conclusion to this trade. Where do you think Dame will end up? Let us know in the comments. Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

Stephen A Smith Blasts Michael Rubin For White Party Snub

Athletes, musicians, and other celebrities assembled in the Hamptons for the 4th of July. The star-studded bash was being thrown by Michael Rubin, the billionaire CEO of sports merchandiser Fanatics. It’s the third year that Rubin and his partner Camille Fischel have thrown a White Party for the 4th of July. There was a rooftop dance floor and contemporary art galore. Meanwhile, Lori Harvey filmed an impromptu TikTok fashion show in the kitchen. The food was top-of-the-line, including pizzas from Mark Iacono. Meanwhile, celebrity liquors could be spotted on every surface.

Entertainment was provided by Usher and Ne-Yo, while Travis Scott and Jack Harlow served as DJs for the rest of the night. Finally, the night was closed out by a fireworks show courtesy of Grucci, the family behind the Macy’s 4th of July show. However, one person who wasn’t there was Stephen A. Smith. Furthermore, the ESPN veteran seemed pretty upset about not getting an invite. He addressed the snub on a recent episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show.

Smith Complains About White Party Snub

“I got a little beef with my man, Michael Rubin,” Smith began. “You know, there was this little shindig in the Hamptons, a star-studded event in the Hamptons. I’m seeing Beyoncé and Jay-Z there. I’m seeing J.Lo there….I mean the list goes on and on. I see…I see the outfit on Kim [Kardashian]…I see the fellas there. Micah Parsons, James Harden was there. Joel Embiid was there. Jayson Tatum was there. Tobias Harris was there. You know, Tom Brady was there. Michael Rubin, I got no invite man. It’s a’ight though. Thought I was your homie. Now you act like you don’t even know me.”

He continued. “I understand, Michael Rubin. I understand, alright? Looked like a good time. I don’t know who looked the greatest. No one ever looks better than Beyoncé to me, just so you know. But J.Lo is right there. Kim Kardashian is right there. You got to give credit where credit is due. You know, I heard Taylor Rooks was there. She in this industry, she’s in the sports industry. How Taylor Rooks get invited but I don’t get an invite? Well, we know the answer as to why, is that I don’t look like Taylor Rooks.” However, Smith saved what could be construed as an egregiously sexist comment about the TNT/Bleacher Report personality by saying she has a “bright future in the industry.”

Stephen A. Smith Tells Haters To “Kiss My A**”

A lot has been made about the recent talent cuts made by ESPN. It’s the latest cost-saving measure made by Disney after they made a paltry $82 billion last year. In a similar move, National Geographic, which Disney also owns, fired its entire writing staff and will move to a digital-only production. However, for many sports fans, the ESPN cuts ran especially deep. Not only did engaging and beloved contributors like Jalen Rose and Keyshawn Johnson get the axe, but the company also laid off some true legacy stars. Max Kellerman had been with ESPN since 1998, for example. The aforementioned Johnson was laid off after 15 years with the broadcaster.

Obviously, a few big names escaped this round of layoffs. Pat McAfee, who will join ESPN this fall, received a large amount of criticism for officially signing his massive contract with the company in the wake of the layoffs. Meanwhile, Stephen A. Smith also remains at the company. Smith is somewhat of a divisive figure for many. Building his brand as a talking head, many see him simply as a “hot take factory” whose job it is to boost ESPN‘s engagement. However, Smith is also a diligent and insightful journalist who usually has a reason behind whatever wild thing he is saying on First Take that day. However, in true Stephen A. fashion, Smith took to The Stephen A. Smith Show to address people who wished that he had been laid off.

Smith Addresses Haters

“Let me address something,” Smith began. “To some of the haters out there about me. Y’all can kiss my ass. Twice. I’m talking directly to the people in the industry who sat up there and said ‘Why isn’t Stephen A. gone?’ Ladies and gentlemen, we got a few people here at ESPN getting paid more than me. They don’t have the number one show, the top ratings. They don’t generate more revenue. How come y’all don’t bring their names up? And by the way, none of them are Black.”

He continued. “How come you don’t bring their names up? I wonder why? I’m talking to those folks, the critics in the media, or the wannabe media with the blogosphere and websites that never went through the terrain of being members, official members, of the fourth estate. I’m talking about them. How come y’all don’t bring them up? But me, who’s been number one, who’s got the top-rated show. Who, by the way, is an executive producer on that top-rated show. My name comes up.”

Stephen A. Smith Reacts To ESPN Layoffs

Stephen A. Smith is one of the most bulletproof people at ESPN. Overall, he is someone who has singlehandedly helped keep the platform afloat. First Take is one of the best shows on the network, and it will continue to be. However, if you have been paying attention, you know that the network had a whole bunch of layoffs recently. This led to the termination of people like Jalen Rose and even Max Kellerman. Of course, Kellerman used to be a co-host on First Take before being kicked off the show.

Yesterday, Stephen A. took to his podcast where he spoke on these layoffs. In the clips below, you can see Smith address Kellerman directly. Smith acknowledges that he was the one who didn’t want to work with Kellerman on a debate show anymore. Although, he did say that he wants to help Kellerman in the future. From there, he spoke on Jalen Rose and Jeff Van Gundy, whom he believes deserve a whole lot better.

Stephen A. Speaks Out

“ESPN laid off about 20 members of its on-air talent. Friends of mine actually, definitely respected colleagues, who had done phenomenal jobs and deserved better. They deserved better than the times we are living in,” Stephen A. said. “To see Jalen Rose gone, my brother. I have got a lot of love for that brother, a lot of the great work he has done over the years, and what he has represented for the company. He is a brilliant basketball mind and somebody that worked his a** off all the time.”

Overall, these layoffs had been expected for a very long time. That said, it should come as no surprise that so many people were let go. Hopefully, they are able to land on their feet in due time. It’s a tough time to be in sports media, and these layoffs are living proof. Let us know your thoughts on the situation, in the comments section below.

Stephen A. Smith Questions The Dating Habits Of Professional Athletes

Unless you’ve been completely off the grid in the last month, you know the Zion Williamson situation. The NBA star has been the main topic of discussion on social media, thanks to his dating life. Adult film star Moriah Mills has been putting the New Orleans star on blast through her Twitter account. Teasing a release of a sex tape made by the pair. These unhinged Tweets apparently began after Williamson seemed to part ways with Mills.

The situation with Williamson and Mills isn’t the first trending story involving an athlete’s love life. Dennis Rodman was on the front page of every paper in the ’90s, discussing his personal life. However, now it seems that social media keeps everyone in the know about what an athlete does with his personal life. On Monday, Stephen A. Smith discussed the dating habits of professional athletes on his podcast.

Stephen A. Is Giving The Fans An Opportunity To Answer

Smith claims that men are cut from the same cloth. Meaning that most men approach their dating lifestyle from a visual aspect more than any other. However, Smith also added the opinions of athletes when bringing up the matter. Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas recently appeared on ‘The Pat Bev Pod‘ to talk about the situation with Williamson. Arenas pointed out that part of the issue is an NBA player’s lifestyle. The former Washington star explained that most of an NBA player’s free time is when a lot of women are at work.

Smith went on to explain that he doesn’t agree with the sentiment that Arenas was talking about. However, Smith did go on to say that the women he works with felt that the discussion of an athlete’s dating habits brings up a good discussion. Certainly, Zion will not be the last athlete in the middle of a trending romantic story. However, it is hard to imagine why more athletes don’t study a firey situation like the one Williamson currently sits in. Stephen A. Smith Loses It While Discussing Viral College Bowling Coach

On June 21, the world of collegiate bowling was rocked by a scandal unfolding at two-time NCAA champion Stephen F. Austin University. The team’s assistant coach, Steve Lemke, resigned after it was revealed that he had been engaged in an extramarital affair with a student-athlete. The affair was discovered by Amber Lemke, the team’s head coach, and Steve’s wife.

What made the story even wilder, and caused it to go viral on social media, was Steve Lemke’s choice to speak to the media about the affair. Furthermore, he didn’t just speak about the affair but chose to actively defend it. “I knew it was kind of a no-no, but there’s not a rule saying it can’t happen,” Steve Lemke said. “There’s not a law saying I’m going to go to jail for doing something like this. There’s nothing in stone. I guess it’s just an ethics code, like we frown upon it, but there’s no rule, there’s no law broken,” Lemke told The Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel.

While the story may have had its moment in the spotlight on social media, one pundit has ensured its longevity. ESPN‘s Stephen A. Smith quote-tweeted the initial viral article, vowing to talk about it on the June 21 edition of The Stephen A. Smith Show.

Stephen A. Smith Slams College Coach Affair

June 21’s The Stephen A. Smith show was a busy one. Smith began by addressing the ongoing Zion Williamson drama. As key drama piece Moriah Mills reportedly appeared in chat, Smith slammed the notion that Williamson should be traded for his off-court infidelities. Furthermore, Smith talked about the recent plea deal offered to Hunter Biden and President Trump’s trial.

However, Smith ended the show by discussing the SFA bowling news. Smith gleefully read out the quotes from Lemke while looking around at his production team. “38-year-old married man, “I was just about how amazing I am”,” Smith said with a laugh as he read Lemke’s description of the text message that led his wife to discover the affair.

Smith continued, linking the story back to his comments about Williamson. “But people are trippin’ about Zion Williamson. 22 and single. And his critic, who is extorting him, is an adult film star. Who does what he allegedly did for a living. But this married man, 38 years of age, working as an assistant under his wife, who’s the head coach, is fooling around with one of their players. Perspective.”

Stephen A. Has Meltdown While Discussing Julius Randle

Steve Lemke isn’t the only person who has caused Smith to lose it in recent days. Over on First Take, Smith got heated while talking about the New York Knicks’ Julius Randle. Smith’s reaction came as a result of Randle saying that the Knicks weren’t far from an NBA title while appearing on Paul George’s podcast.

Smith, a well-known Knicks fan, took offense to this sentiment. “Come postseason time, you know, put a taller defender on him, contest his shots, he’s going to dribble too much, he’s gon’ force shots he don’t need to force,” Smith said. “And he’s not going to be nearly as effective during the postseason as he is in the regular season.

His voice rising, Smith continued. You know this is coming. You can’t learn to use your right hand? Is it that much for me to ask that you can become a bit ambidextrous, that you can remember that God gave you two hands and two arms? That you don’t actually have to always use your left?”

Moriah Mills Speaks Out In Stephen A. Smith Show Chat

Moriah Mills will forever be linked to Zion Williamson. The former porn star, and current musician and OnlyFans creator, burst into the zeitgeist with scalding tea about the young New Orleans Pelicans star. According to Mills, she and Williamson had been hooking up less than a week before the gender reveal party he threw for Akheema. Furthermore, Mills was not aware that Williamson had gotten another woman pregnant. Additionally, Mills claimed that Williamson had wanted to move her to New Orleans to be close to him.

As a result, Mills’ star briefly burned bright. She peaked at #91 on Pornhub’s model rankings as she continued to tweet through the saga. However, people began to tire of her antics, with someone going as far as to start a petition to get her to stop. Most recently, Mills found herself suspended from Twitter after threatening to release a sex tape showing her and Williamson. However, now Stephen A. Smith is involved in the saga.

Mills Claims She And Zion Are “Good” On “Stephen A. Smith Show”

As shared by Stephen A. on Twitter, Mills reportedly joined the live chat of his YouTube broadcast of The Stephen A. Smith Show. The account does appear to match Mills’ official account on YouTube, which is used to promote her music. In the live chat, Mills wrote “Don’t believe the narratives we good” while Smith was discussing the possibility that the Pelicans may trade Zion. Mills has not uploaded in over a year, with her last video coming on May 19, 2022. That video was a vlog entitled “Tired of being fake ? + trying the tik tok sandwich my way.”

While it cannot be 100% confirmed to Mills, this would be a significant update in the ongoing saga. As previously mentioned, when last we left the drama, Mills had threatened to leak her sex tape with Zion. That was very much a narrative she herself was pushing. Furthermore, many of her previous tweets have suggested that things were very much not good between the pair. Additionally, she had even gone as far as to accuse Zion’s pregnant girlfriend of paying journalists to write hit pieces about her. But if she says they’ are good, then maybe this really is the end of the story.

Stephen A. Smith Says He’s “Shocked” No One Has Asked Him To Throw A First Pitch

On June 20, presumptive first pick in the NBA Draft Victor Wembanyama went viral after hilariously throwing a terrible first pitch at a New York Yankees game. The 7″2 French wonderkid sent the ball wide left, with the pitch barely clipping the batter’s box. While by no means the worst first pitch in history, it definitely wasn’t great.

The ceremonial first pitch has been a tradition in baseball for over a century. However, it was Ronald Reagan who turned it into the spectacle it is today. Before Reagan’s unscheduled pitch at an Orioles game in 1984, the first pitch was thrown from the stands onto the field. Now, it’s a whole ceremony in itself, with the guest throwing from the pitcher’s mound to home plate. And one person who would love to do it is the broadcasting legend himself, Stephen A. Smith.

Stephen A. Wants To Throw The First Pitch

While discussing Wembanyama’s first pitch on First Take, Smith was asked if he has ever thrown the first pitch. “No [and] you know what? I’m shocked that they haven’t invited me,” Smith began. “Not only would I do a first pitch, I would sing Take Me Out To The Ballgame at a Chicago Cubs game. Only thing I wouldn’t do is go to Boston and sing. I can’t do that because they’re the enemy, I’m a Yankees guy.”

When asked if he was sure he wanted to do the first pitch, Smith doubled down. “I am. And not only would I throw out the first pitch, I would throw a strike.” It’s a bold and hilarious claim from Smith, whose reservoirs of confidence never cease to amaze. It’s just the latest in a line of memorable moments from Smith this week. Elsewhere, he had something of a meltdown while expressing his displeasure with Julius Randle. Meanwhile, he made his thoughts on Ron DeSantis very clear. It’s fair to say that Smith’s daily antics bring us all a little bit of sunshine.
