Nicki Minaj Sends The Barbz Mixed Signals About Her Supposed Hiatus

Nicki Minaj plays with the Barbz sometimes. Whether it’s her usual social media clap-backs to misinterpreted media conversations, teases of new music or other endeavors, or her reflections on being a superstar, sometimes she outlines a lot of paths before making a final decision. In a few of those cases, this can end up scaring the fanbase, although not for long. For example, the Trinidadian femcee recently held a Stationhead session on Sunday (October 13) in which she spoke on the success of the Pink Friday 2 world tour. Then, she sent her die-hards into fight-or-flight mode by suggesting that she may hang up the mic.

“I am doing a hiatus,” Nicki Minaj expressed on the platform. “But I have the Vogue thing, which I’m very proud and honored to do, and a couple things and then I’ll be taking a little moment to reflect.” Of course, this isn’t the first time that she’s teased a break, whether that’s a permanent step away from music or just a much-needed break from her general industry and career moves. Reportedly, Nicki hinted before that this hiatus could happen after the Pink Friday 2 world tour wrapped up, a reality we now live in.

However, it turns out that Nicki Minaj was once again feeling the temperature and speaking on possibilities, because she quickly dispelled any hiatus speculation via Twitter. “Ain’t going no mthfkn where,” she responded to a post about her supposed break. “Kiss my a** & HIATUS LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.” “We don’t announce the hiatus Barbz. Crack is whack. We don’t do that,” the 41-year-old followed up in another post. As such, it seems like the Barbz don’t have to worry about her stepping away too much, which is a relief to hear.

Nicki’s Not Going Anywhere

Elsewhere during the weekend, Nicki Minaj thanked everyone who helped her along the way on her PF2 tour in various social media posts. “Barbz. Wow. We did it,” she wrote in one of these posts via Twitter. “Emotional (to say the least). I love you ALL so much. Every single person who came out- from our very 1st show— every country— my incredible team.”

Megan Thee Stallion Will Celebrate “HISS” Going No. 1 In This Hilarious Way

Megan Thee Stallion ia laughing all the way to the bank, it seems, as her newest single “HISS” is poised to take the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Of course, this contained the “Megan’s Law” bar that set Nicki Minaj on a path of revenge on social media, plus some other supposed disses to her detractors. While that femcee battle is still raging (albeit in a one-sided manner), it seems like the Houston MC is more concerned with enjoying the success and connecting with fans. During a recent Stationhead session with listeners, she joked about one of the many ways she wants to celebrate if “HISS” claims the top spot.

Moreover, Megan Thee Stallion referenced one of the bars that Nicki Minaj had for her on her response track. She said that, if “HISS” goes number one, she will have to put the straw back in the bottle of Hennessy. Queen Barb had mentioned this as a shot to her allegedly rowdy drinking tendencies, and Tina Snow herself even admitted during this convo to being in a much different place back in 2019. We can only imagine what else she has planned if her new song makes it big.

However, this also prompted a lot of backlash from Nicki Minaj fans for a few different reasons. First, they think Megan Thee Stallion was particularly hurt by this bar, which is why she referenced it. In addition, they called her out for talking with fans on Stationhead after the First Lady of Young Money popularized this concept. Finally, they want the Fever hitmaker to respond to “Big Foot,” and will discredit her as long as there is no response. While that last point is a common concept in hip-hop beef, it’s a very hard call to make.

After all, the “Megan’s Law” bar basically ruins any sort of response that Nicki Minaj could have immediately, at least according to some fans. Others think that she will be able to enjoy the commercial success of “HISS” over “Big Foot” and claim this as a victory. Megan Thee Stallion has been the biggest topic in music over the last week or so. Overall, it is very easy to see why. Her new song “Hiss” is currently on track for a number-one debut. Furthermore, she has been entrenched in a feud with none other than Nicki Minaj. Although many say she won the fight, Nicki has continued to throw shots on Twitter and Instagram. Despite all of this, Meg has remained cool, calm, and collected as she is more confident than ever before. Clearly, her strategy of late is working.

Last night, Meg decided to celebrate her success with her fans on Stationhead. It was a Twitter Spaces type of vibe in which fans could listen in as Meg spoke with friends and other supporters. Overall, it sounded like a whole lot of fun, and Meg was having a grand old time. In fact, she couldn’t help but laugh at also mock her opponent. Nicki has been heavy on the Roc Nation conspiracies, and Meg is well-aware of that. As you can see below, it prompted Meg to say, “Don’t make me call Roc Nation.”
