Shannon Sharpe is easily one of the best sports commentators in the game right now. Overall, he made his mark on Undisputed, however, he was eventually able to do big things with First Take. He is currently still on First Take, all while crafting a media empire with Club Shay Shay. At this point, Sharpe remains one of the biggest names and draws in the entire industry. It has been incredible to watch him grow, although it has certainly come with some hate. For instance, numerous comedians recently came after him with gay allegations. Even Antonio Brown has been going off on Sharpe on Twitter, although we believe it might be someone else running the account at this point.

Recently, Shannon Sharpe was at a Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors game. Following the match, Shannon went into the tunnel near the locker rooms, where he met up with Curry. During the encounter, they took a picture and Steph even signed some shoes for Shannon. As you can see below, Shannon was standing around awkwardly throughout the encounter, although it wasn’t anything egregious. Regardless, the internet decided to do its thing anyway.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Revealed: UConn, Houston, Purdue, UNC, Land No. 1 Seeds

The full list of 68 schools that made the NCAA Tournament has been revealed with UConn, Houston, Purdue, and North Carolina taking the No. 1 seeds. While UConn is coming off of a Big East Tournament win, the remaining three top seeds all lost in the semifinals or finals of their respective conference tournaments. North Carolina is perhaps the most controversial of the No. 1 seeds.

“There was a lot of discussion, obviously, North Carolina got it. We looked at some head to heads, but overall, North Carolina had a magnificent season,” Dr. Charles McClelland, the chair of the selection committee, said on CBS‘ selection show, as caught by ESPN. “They did what they were supposed to do in the regular season.” The team finished 27-7 on the year but lost to NC State in the ACC Tournament.

UConn Celebrates Winning The Big East Tournament

While UConn represented the Big East at the top of the bracket, it was an uncharacteristically disappointing performance for the conference overall in terms of representation. In addition to UConn, only Marquette and Creighton made the cut. St. John’s and Rick Pitino finished the year with a six-game win streak before dropping to UConn in the Big East semi-final by just five points. Still, they are on the outside looking in along with a number of other disappointed teams.

Teams Await Bracket Reveal For March Madness

With a 68-60 win over Stony Brook, Drexel became the final women’s basketball team to secure an automatic berth to this year’s March Madness. It ends a semi-chaotic Championship Fortnight that saw a handful of major upsets. However, Portland was the only major “bid-stealer” in their upset of Gonzaga. Despite this, the 32 automatic berths include two first-time dancers and a handful of teams ending lengthy droughts. This includes Eastern Washington, who appear in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1987. Later today, 36 teams will join the 32 conference champions.

Furthermore, the bracket reveal will answer several pressing questions. For example – who takes the final two No. 1 seeds? South Carolina and Iowa are locked in, which leaves USC, Stanford, and Texas all vying for the last two spots on the top line. ESPN currently favors the two Pac-12 schools despite Texas’ Big 12 title. Another question will surround which bubble teams make it and which miss the tournament. Will Columbia finally make March Madness before Abbey Hsu graduates? Or did losing to Princeton in the Ivy League title game seal their fate?

Oklahoma Could Miss Out On March Madness Hosting Duties Due To Scheduling Conflict

Meanwhile, an interesting situation surrounds Oklahoma. Oklahoma could be named as one of the top-16 seeds in the tournament, which would typically come with the right to host first- and second-round games. However, a scheduling conflict could mean that Oklahoma may miss out on that opportunity. The Big 12 gymnastics tournament is scheduled to be hosted at Oklahoma’s basketball arena on the same weekend as the opening rounds of March Madness.

ESPN currently has the Sooners as a five-seed in a quadrant hosted by Colorado in Boulder. However, the Sooners’ regular season title plus Gonzaga’s shock loss in the WCC title game could see Oklahoma move up to a four-seed. Due to rules about when teams from the same conference can play each other, that would see Oklahoma and Kansas State, the current five-seed in Gonzaga’s quadrant, swap places. However, due to Oklahoma’s scheduling conflict, Gonzaga would still have the option to host the games in Spokane.

Travis Kelce has been praised for his investment in, and executive producer role on, an upcoming dark comedy called My Dead Friend Zoe. “He wanted to support veterans. That’s what I heard — he wanted to support veterans and someone pointed him to our film. It’s all about the ‘why’ and I feel like if anybody has the right ‘why,’ they’ll succeed,” gushed the film’s lead, Sonequa Martin-Green. The film follows an army vet who struggles to reacclimatize to civilian life due to the lingering ghost of her deceased squadmate.

However, it’s not the only business venture Kelce is working on. This week, it was announced that Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are teaming up off the field to open a steakhouse. 1587 Prime will be located in the downtown Loews Hotel in Kansas City and is expected to open next year. “Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City,” Mahomes said of the venture. Mahomes and Kelce have been a formidable on-field pair for nearly a decade now.

Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce “Nesting” After Whirlwind Start To 2024

Elsewhere, Taylor Swift and Kelce have entered their “nesting” era, according to sources who spoke with Us Weekly. “They’re focused on rest and recuperation and relaxing at home and having low-key and chill time together. Kim Kardashian Takes Saint West To A Chaotic Lakers Game

Kim Kardashian was once again playing the role of sports mom as she and her son Saint West were spotted courtside for the Lakers’ matchup against the Warriors this week. Kim sported a tight-fitting white tee and black leather pants while Saint wore an oversized LeBron jersey. Other big-name fans taking in the game were Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez as well as the Kardashian-affiliated Bad Bunny.

However, the game itself was chaotic. The final two minutes of play took over 20 minutes to complete due to a myriad of issues. Darvin Ham challenged an out-of-bounds call that won the Lakers the ball but cost the team points due to a prior LeBron three being ruled out on review. The game was delayed by yet more reviews before the shot clock decided to simply stop working. Despite 40 points from LeBron, the Lakers fell 128-121. During the turmoil, Kim and Saint posed for several pictures for courtside photographers. Kim also spoke with fans while Saint flashed a peace sign at the cameras.

Aaron Rodgers appears to be no longer in the running to be the vice presidential candidate of Robert F Kennedy Jr’s independent long-shot campaign. Per Puck, the current front-runner is Nicole Shanahan, a wealthy philanthropist and ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin. “Nicole was the big RFK donor behind the Super Bowl ad. $4 million. But she didn’t just pay for it. She thought of the whole idea. Shanahan has money to finance the campaign. I don’t know her net worth. But she used to be married to one of the richest people in the world! That matters to RFK’s team,” wrote Teddy Scheilfer.

It’s unclear what caused Rodgers to fall out of favor despite being a reported frontrunner. It could be that the Jets were reportedly unhappy that Rodgers was considering the offer. Or it might have something to do with Rodgers having to explicitly state that the Sandy Hook massacre was a “tragedy” this week. However, no candidate will be fully ruled out until Kennedy Jr makes his VP announcement in Oakland later this month.

The last comment was a reference to the Jets, Rodgers’ team, being owned by the heir to multinational conglomerate, Johnson & Johnson. Of the many products J&J produces, pharmaceuticals and a one-shot COVID vaccine are some of them.

Rodgers dubbed Kelce “Mr Pfizer” due to Kelce appearing in a series of ads encouraging people to get the new COVID vaccine. “Mr. Pfizer, we kinda shut him down a little bit. He didn’t have a crazy impact game. Obviously, he had some yards and stuff,” Rodgers told McAfee. Kelce had a team-leading 60 yards on six catches against the Jets. The Chiefs scored an ugly 23-20 road win.

Selection Sunday Looms

Today, the 68-team bracket for March Madness will be announced. Three more automatic berths will be decided just ahead of the bracket reveal. While four games will be played, Le Moyne are ineligible due to their NCAA transition period. The group of automatic berths includes everyone from giants like South Carolina and UConn to first-time dancers such as Presbyterian and Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. There are several teams, such as Eastern Washington, who ended lengthy postseason droughts this year.

36 teams will be announced alongside the conference champions today. This will include the 8 “First Four” teams, who play a preliminary play-in game. The bracket is split into 16 quadrants, with the highest seed in each quadrant hosting the first two rounds. After the first two rounds, the tournament moves to two regional sites – Portland and Albany. The final four and national championship game will take place in Cleveland. Meanwhile, the men’s national championship game takes place in Glendale, Arizona this year.

Long Beach State Reaches March Madness Despite Firing Coach

Long Beach State are heading to March Madness despite firing their coach a week ago. The men’s team won the Big West conference tournament, and thus the conference’s automatic bid, despite veteran coach Dan Monson “mutually terminating” his coach effective at the end of the season. “God has blessed me with a great career, and these kids have been awesome to coach,” Monson said after the game. “When Coach Harbaugh says, ‘Who has it better than us?’ someone needs to tell him, ‘Coach Monson’,” Monson said.

The team is headed to March Madness for the first time since 2012 and for just the third time in the 21st century. Monson was dismissed despite going 21-14 and 10-10 in the Big West. The season included a marquee win over Bronny James and USC in December. Monson also indicated that he doesn’t intend to hang up his clipboard just yet. “I don’t think this is my last year, I love coaching. I need a new challenge. That’s life. It’s on to the next chapter,” Monson told ESPN. Long Beach State will learn its March Madness route later today.

South Carolina Star Becomes Steph Curry’s First NIL Signing

Elsewhere, South Carolina freshman MiLaysia Fulwiley has become the first collegiate athlete to sign with Steph Curry‘s NIL brand. Per the brand, Fulwiley will be an “ambassador” at the NCAA tournament later this month and will sport Curry-branded shoes for the rest of her collegiate career. Fulwiley was recently crowned MVP of the SEC tournament, the first freshman to capture the award.

Fulwiley is averaging 11.8/2.9/2.3 this season amid the Gamecocks’ second consecutive undefeated regular season. However, here solid contributions have been overshadowed by the outstanding seasons of USC’s Juju Watkins and Notre Dame’s Hannah Hildago. South Carolina will enter March Madness as the number one overall seed. However, in a rare move, they will be without star senior Kamilla Cardoso for their opening game. Cardoso is serving a one-game suspension for fighting in South Carolina’s title game against LSU.
