SOURCE SPORTS: Broncos’ Randy Gregory Takes Parting Shots at Cowboys for the Way They Handle Free Agency

Randy Gregory

Former Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher Randy Gregory had some parting words for his former team. Gregory, who is now a member of the Denver Broncos, went on a bit of a Twitter rant on Sunday afternoon bashing the Cowboys for not living up to the title of “America’s Team” when it comes to handling business during the free agency period.

Soon after, a Cowboys fan replied to that tweet, suggesting that Gregory’s bills would get paid with the contract the Cowboys gave him. Gregory then wrote on his account that Cowboys ownership was to blame.

Gregory feels that the Cowboys didn’t make a real play to keep him. In the same process, he doesn’t think the organization is a winning one. The Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1996.

SOURCE SPORTS: Packers Trade All-Pro Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders

Packers Trade All-Pro Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders

The Green Bay Packers are keeping Aaron Rodgers, but it came at a price. They couldn’t afford to keep Davante Adams. The Las Vegas Raiders are acquiring Adams from the Packers in exchange for their 2022 first- and second-round picks and giving the superstar receiver a new five-year, $141.25 million contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.

The trade reunites Adams with Derek Carr, his quarterback at Fresno State before they entered the NFL together in 2014, and also gives Carr a No. 1 receiver in his prime.

The Raiders and the entire AFC West have been busy this offseason. Each team in the division made improvements to their respective rosters. The Packers have a ton of draft capital heading into the 2022 NFL Draft. Expect the Packers to use some of that capital on some new offensive weapons for Rodgers.

SOURCE SPORTS: Steph Curry Out Indefinitely With a Sprained Foot

Steph Curry Out Indefinitely With a Sprained Foot

The Golden State Warriors appear to close out the regular season without Steph Curry. Curry will be out indefinitely after reportedly suffering a sprained ligament in his left foot, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Curry went down with a left foot injury late in the first half, and Golden State coach Steve Kerr didn’t like Marcus Smart’s lunging move at the reigning NBA scoring champ.

“I thought it was a dangerous play. I thought Marcus dove into Steph’s knee,” Kerr said. “That’s what I was upset about. Lot of respect for Marcus. He’s a hell of a player, gamer, competitor. I coached him in the World Cup a few summers ago. We talked after the game, we’re good. I thought it was a dangerous play; just let him know.”

Draymond Green defended the play by Smart and didn’t believe it was dirty.

The Warriors are currently 3rd in the Western Conference with 47-23. The team will have to find a way to make up Curry’s production and close out the last 12 games of the season without him.

Gus Edwards Sues an L.A. Strip Club After Being Robbed at Gun Point

Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards got himself into a bit of a situation at a strip club, and now he is looking to return the favor. Via TMZ.com, Edwards has sued a Los Angeles strip club after he and a friend were robbed at gunpoint.

Edward claims that he and a friend named Loomis Zaysay were at the Crazy Girls club in L.A. on December 11th. Edwards claims that he and Zaysay left a vehicle with the club’s valet, paying a $60 fee. They then paid $800 to sit in a private area guarded by security.

Edwards claims that the two men left after employees of the club started fighting. Edwards alleges that five men in masks, each of whom had a gun, confronted them and demanded their jewelry. The assailants took, per Edwards, a $50,000 necklace and a $25,000 watch from him and a $60,000 watch from Zaysay.

According to TMZ, Edwards said video of the incident showed the club’s security guards did not try to intervene in the robbery and that the club’s head of security told them to call 911. Edwards, who said he filed a police report, claimed he received an Instagram message about a week later telling him he had been “set up by the valet” and taken his jewelry to a local jewelry business.

Edwards and his friend are seeking more than $800,000 in damages from the club and valet service, according to TMZ.

The AFC West continues to be the wild west as each team within that division has made significant upgrades. The Las Vegas Raiders have upgraded their pass rush with the addition of Chandler Jones.

Jones signs with the Raiders for a reportedly $17 million a year per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Jones has some Hall of Fame-worthy numbers with 107.5 career sacks in 10 seasons. He’s surpassed the double-digit mark in seven seasons, and three years he didn’t was his rookie season when he had six in 14 games and in 2014 and 2020, where he only played in eight and five games, respectively. Also, he’s only two years removed from a career-high 19-sack campaign.

With a division including Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, and Justin Herbert, the Raiders are looking to lean on Chandler to help stabilize those electric quarterbacks.

SOURCE SPORTS: Kyrie Irving Drops New Career High 60 Against the Magic

Kyrie Nets

Kyrie Irving is no magician but he pulled out the bag of tricks in last night’s 150-108 blow out victory against the Orlando Magic.

Since Irving is only allowed to play half the time, since he can’t play in home games due to New York’s covid restrictions, we must appreciate what we’re witnessing.

In Kyrie Irving’s last three games, he is averaging 44 points. In his last two games, he scored 50 plus and in his last game he dropped a career high 60! Kyrie manhandled the Magics in the Amway Center.

He scored 41 of his 60 points in the first half. Things got started right away. In 23 first-half minutes, Irving went 14-for-19 from the field, 6-for-7 from beyond the arc and 7-for-7 from the free throw line while adding 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

Irving finished the game 20-for-31 from the field, 8-for-12 from beyond the arc and 12-for-13 from the free throw line. Along with this being a career high for Irving, he set multiple records in the first-half alone. It was the highest-scoring half of his career and the highest-scoring half for any player this season.

The last player to score as many as Irving in a half was Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, who dropped 51 points in the second half of a March 24, 2017, game against the Boston Celtics. Booker finished that game with 70 points.

Irving’s 41 points is the most one player has scored in one half against the Magic in the franchise’s history. The Nets’ 86 first-half points are also a franchise record. It was also the most the Magic have ever given up in one half.

Kyrie’s Tuesday 60-point performance and Durant’s 53 points in Sunday’s win over the New York Knicks, but the teammates in the record books. They became the first teammates in NBA history to score 50 or more points in back-to-back games.

Kyrie Irving, and the NBA has been on tear as of late. In this month alone, Kyrie 60. Karl Anthony-Towns dropped 60. Lebron James put up 56 and 50 respectively. Jayson Tatum dropped 54. Kevin Durant dropped 53 and Kyrie dropped 50 in his last game.

How can you not appreciate this caliber of basketball? Who’s going to be the next to score big? Let us know what you think.

Tom Brady Announces He Is Coming Out Of Retirement

Brady

I’m not sure of the Guinness world record for the shortest retirement stint, but you’ll have to consider Tom Brady’s. After the 2021-2022 season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback called it quits. Tom made his retirement official on February 1, and 40 days later, he made it unofficial.

Brady took it to Twitter to share his thoughts on being out of football and reflecting on coming up short of a Super Bowl last season.

Last season, Brady finished completing 67.5 percent of his passes in 2021 for 5,316 yards and 43 touchdowns. He also led the Bucs to a record of 13-4 and a trip to the divisional round where they lost 30-27 to the eventual champs, the Los Angeles Rams.

During his 21 season, Brady will turn 45 during training camp. He has played in 365 games, won 278 of them, including 35 in the playoffs. There have been 67 game-winning drives and 710 touchdowns.

SOURCE SPORTS: Two NFC Teams Teams Emerge as Potential Landing Spots for Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson Tears ACL Done For The Season

Deshaun Watson is the hottest available quarterback left on the market, and two NFC teams are in play for his services. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers have made separate offers to the Houston Texans for Watson.

Rapoport also stated that the Saints plan to meet with Watson and his representatives soon.

On Friday, a Harris County (Texas) grand jury did not find enough evidence to charge Watson with a crime following allegations of sexual misconduct stemming from massage therapy sessions. Watson, 26, is also facing 22 civil lawsuits. Still, Friday’s news paved the way for accelerated trade discussions for Watson, who remains under NFL investigation and is subject to potential discipline under the league’s personal-conduct policy.

Watson requested to be traded from the Texans before the allegations, and he was inactive for all 17 of the Texans’ games during the 2021 NFL season.

With some of the legal troubles behind him, the market for Watson’s services is expected to ramp up. Watson has a no-trade clause in his contract, so he would have to sign off where he plays next. The Texans are also standing by their stance of no minimum of three first-round picks in exchange for Watson.
