SOURCE SPORTS: Matt Ryan Traded to the Colts for a 3rd Round Pick

Call it the Deshaun Watson effect. The Atlanta Falcons have traded former NFL MVP Matt Ryan to the Indianapolis Colts after striking out on getting Watson.

Atlanta selected Ryan with the third pick of the 2008 draft to rehabilitate the franchise’s image in the wake of the Michael Vick dogfighting scandal. Ryan would win an NFL MVP award and lead the Falcons to a Super Bowl appearance, in which the Falcons blew a 28-3 4th quarter lead to the New England Patriots.

Ryan joins a Colts team that came within one win of making the playoffs last season, and many observers blamed the performance of now-departed quarterback Carson Wentz for the team’s failure. The Colts’ odds to win the Super Bowl jumped from +3000 to +2500, per BetMGM.

For the Falcons, it’s officially rebuilding season. After three straight losing seasons, the Falcons will try to find reload and rebuild on the fly.

SOURCE SPORTS: LeBron James Dunks All Over Kevin Love in Lakers Win Over Cavs

FOaaLcSVsAYJGXy

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers made a visit to the superstar’s hometown of Cleveland for a game against the Cavaliers. The Lakers would get a much-needed win but the conversation was James’ dunk on his friend and former teammate Kevin Love.

Later after the play, Love strolled up to his friend and placed him in a joking headlock.

In the postgame, James joked about hoping to still be invited to Love’s wedding.

“To be completely honest, I hated that it had to be him,” James said. “He’s my guy. That’s my brother. And I hope I’m still invited to the wedding. That’s not even in my all-time dunks so I’ll take it out. I didn’t mean it. K-Love, I love you and I take it back. I wish I could take those two points back and we still win the game by nine.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Saints Resign Jameis Winston To Remain Team Starting Quarterback

FOZNX8qVsAEUPi

Jameis Winston will remain as the New Orleans Saints quarterback. Winston returns to the Saints on a two-year deal worth $28 million.

Winston was 5-2 with the Saints before suffering a season-ending torn ACL injury. Before that, Winston was on pace to have one of the best years of his career, completing 59.0% of his passes for 1,170 yards and 14 touchdowns to just three interceptions. Back in 2019, Winston led the NFL in passing yards while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If Winston is healthy and ready to go, all expectations are that he’ll be the Week One starter in New Orleans. If it takes Winston longer than ten months to be prepared to go, backup quarterbacks Ian Book and Blake Bortles would likely compete to start until Winston is healthy.

SOURCE SPORTS: Browns Officially Acquire Deshaun Watson In a Massive Trade With The Texans

FOTJi4kWQAocOtB

The Cleveland Browns announced Sunday that they traded for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, giving up three first-round picks, a 2023 third-round pick, a 2024 fourth-round pick for the QB, and a 2024 fifth-rounder.

With the addition of Watson, it all but indicates the end of Baker Mayfield as their starting quarterback. The four-year starter has one year left on his rookie deal. Upon learning of the Browns’ pursuit of Watson, Mayfield requested a trade out of town.

Watson still faces 22 civil lawsuits and an NFL investigation that could result in a suspension. Shortly after the trade was announced, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy released the following statement:

“Any transaction would not affect the NFL’s ongoing and comprehensive investigation of the serious allegations against Deshaun Watson. Nor would it affect his status under the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Personal Conduct Policy.

“If the league’s investigation determines that Watson violated the Personal Conduct Policy, discipline may be imposed pursuant to the policy and the CBA.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Broncos’ Randy Gregory Takes Parting Shots at Cowboys for the Way They Handle Free Agency

Randy Gregory

Former Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher Randy Gregory had some parting words for his former team. Gregory, who is now a member of the Denver Broncos, went on a bit of a Twitter rant on Sunday afternoon bashing the Cowboys for not living up to the title of “America’s Team” when it comes to handling business during the free agency period.

Soon after, a Cowboys fan replied to that tweet, suggesting that Gregory’s bills would get paid with the contract the Cowboys gave him. Gregory then wrote on his account that Cowboys ownership was to blame.

Gregory feels that the Cowboys didn’t make a real play to keep him. In the same process, he doesn’t think the organization is a winning one. The Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl since 1996.

SOURCE SPORTS: LeBron James Passes Karl Malone to Become #2 on the All-Time Scoring List

FOQFLxXVEAAbdIo

Every night appears to be a record-breaking night for LeBron James. During Saturday’s matchup with the Washington Wizards, King James passed Karl Malone to become second all-time on the career scoring list.

James passed up Karl Malone with a driving layup at the 5:20 mark of the game. Bron entered needed 20 points to pass the Mailman, he finished with 38. Sadly, the Lakers couldn’t pull off the victory. Now James only trails Kareem Abdul-Jabar on the all-time list. Abdul-Jabbar has 38,387 points, James currently sits at 36,047.

“Just to be part of this league the many years I’ve been a part of it and being linked to some of the greatest who’ve ever played this game and guys I’ve ever watched or studied or read about or aspired to be like … I’m just always lost for words for it,” James said to ESPN. “It’s an honor for myself, for my hometown, for my family and friends to be able to live these moments throughout this journey. And that’s exactly who I do it for.”

The Lakers are back to their grind of a season on Monday when James and the squad visit the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The 6ix God was pulled a page out of King James’ handbook as last year Bron did the same. LeBron, an early investor in the tequila brand, brought a bottle courtside to a game, sparking the “Bring Your Own” Tequila movement.

As for the game, Russell Westbrook hit a game-tying 3 at the end of regulation, which also got a reaction out of Drake. Full highlights are below.

My heart is broken and I’m so very fucking sad. I love Scott with all my heart but now I have to prepare my life without him in the present. I’ve been blessed to have a friend that took me at face value and I him. When we jumped to WCW we didn’t care who liked or hated us. We had each other and with the smooth Barry Bloom we changed wrestling both in content and pay for those……alot that disliked us. We were the “Outsiders “ but we had each other.”
