Nicki Minaj shared an interview between Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show producer Jesse Collins and Variety, on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. In the piece, Collins confirms that the choice of headliner ultimately comes down to JAY-Z. The legendary rapper’s decision to go with Kendrick Lamar over Lil Wayne has been controversial due to the game being held in New Orleans.

“It’s a decision that Jay makes,” Collins told Variety. “Since we’ve been on board with that show, he’s made it every year, and it’s been amazing. He’s always picked right!” In response, Minaj posted a laughing emoji. She had called JAY-Z out on X in defense of her longtime collaborator, Lil Wayne.

Freddie Gibbs Claps Back At Trolls Mistaking Him For A Gay Man In Viral Post

Freddie Gibbs fired back at trolls jokingly mistaking him for a gay man in a viral photo on social media, Sunday. In the picture, a social media influencer announces his engagement to someone resembling Gibbs. “Congrats @FreddieGibbs,” one response with over 80,000 likes reads.

When Gibbs noticed the post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote back: “F*ck all yall and everybody that love yall.” When a user continued to join in on the jokes in the replies, Gibbs fired back: “F*ck u b*tch.” Other fans made plenty of jokes at his expense. “Thought it was Freddie Gibbs at first but was like nah they not doing dread transplants in Turkey,” one user wrote. One more wrote: “I ain’t gon lie bruh. For a QUICK second…nvm. But yeah man,” with a laughing emoji. “No the f*ck you didn’t,” Gibbs wrote back to one user claiming to have made the mistake.

Trolls aren’t the only people Gibbs has been feuding with on social media. He’s also been trading shots with Jpegmafia, who went as far as to pose for pictures with Gibbs’ ex, Destini, online back in August. The two have been sending off posts about one another for years at this point.

Next month, Gibbs will be performing with Madlib in honor of the 10-year anniversary of their collaborative album, Pinata. They’ll be bringing along El Michels Affair, Saba, and Pink Siifu as well for the Los Angeles show. It’s set to go down on October 5th at The Greek Theatre. Nicki Minaj went off on a reporter on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday after he asked her a question about “unity.” She had been speaking with DTLR radio host Fadam Got Da Juice when she argued that everyone will always have disagreements with one another. “Do we have unity amongst human beings? Like, if its eight billion people in the world, imagine thinking all eight billion people gon’ get along with each other,” Minaj explained. “I used to be a waitress. It was a bunch of people not getting along in there. I mean, no matter where you go, you’re going to be at odds with people. I think the point, though, is when you get to a place where nothing around you affects what’s inside of you.”

When Elliott Wilson congratulated him on landing the interview, he wrote back: “She ducked the smoke on the question man. I had to take the shot though.” Minaj eventually caught a repost of the comment online and wrote in response: “The obsession. Only thing I ducked was his fkng breath. Smelled like a double portion of 4 wings & some french fries hot ASS & ketchup n****.”

Doja Cat says that her 2023 album, Scarlet, was an “angry project.” She made the comments while speaking with Jack Harlow for Present Space. The album featured several hit singles including “Paint the Town Red” and “Agora Hills.” It peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200.

“I think the point of that album was to showcase anger and how it processes through my mind, but also it’s about coming to your own defense and love,” Doja explained to Harlow. “It’s sort of my ‘Why I oughta!’ moment of squaring up with everyone and defending myself, telling myself that I’m here for me, and not just for everybody else’s enjoyment.”

Art Director Shaun Harrison says it’d be the “biggest mistake ever” to have Lil Wayne headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. Claiming to have “worked with” Wayne before on a Grammy performance in the past, he explained why he feels the hometown artist would be the wrong choice in a post on social media. The take comes after the NFL announced Kendrick Lamar will be headlining the event on Sunday.

“I’ve ‘worked with’ Lil Wayne before for Grammy performance and personal feelings that would be the biggest mistake ever putting him as the headliner for the biggest performance of the year The Super Bowl,” Harrison wrote. “He showed up to zero rehearsals we didn’t even think he would make the performance then last minute he was in the building and ran on stage for the performance and ran off back into oblivion lol. Never even got to meet him after week of rehearsals for a show. Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest rap performers ever and unapologetically black in his message and it’s during black history month, it’s going to be a spectacle!” In a follow-up post on his Instagram Story, Harrison further argued: “Not to mention Dr. Dre is the only to be from the state the Super Bowl is in… so the argument is moot, that’s never been a prerequisite.”

Since the NFL announced that Lamar will be headlining the event, fans on social media have been calling for Wayne to at least make an appearance during the show. Even Master P came out and said he deserves to be recognized. “As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans I have to agree with the fans that Lil Wayne should be a part of this celebration as well,” he wrote online. “He’s one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant and he’s a New Orleans native. Ralo says that he meant no disrespect when he remarked that he doesn’t want to be “on stage like Boosie [Badazz]” when he’s in his 40s and 50s. The remark, which he made in a viral clip on social media, sent Boosie on a tirade on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday night. Speaking about the situation on Instagram Live, Ralo attempted to clarify what he meant.

“When I get that age, I want to be worshiping my Lord,” he asserted. “I want to be deep involved in my religion and in my community.” Ralo explained that it’s perfectly acceptable for “the G.O.A.T.s” of hip-hop to still perform as they get older, but he’s not as passionate about his rap career. He also claimed to have helped Boosie out of financial trouble in the past. “You sent your girlfriend over there to get some money,” he added. “Not for no features, not for no verses, just because you needed it.”

Baby Storme says she tried to warn Cleotrapa about Ice Spice after the Bronx rapper’s former friend spoke out against her on Monday. Cleo claimed she endured mistreatment throughout the Y2K! World Tour. Storme chimed in on the situation on X (formerly Twitter), after she previously leaked alleged messages from Spice in which she appeared to criticize Cleo and Nicki Minaj.

Storme began by quote-tweeting Cleo’s previous defense about that situation with the message: “I tried to warn you & you just threatened to beat me up. Nevertheless, I’m sorry that happened to you.” Cleo then replied to her: “Oh I threatened to beat you up cause you was doing all that cause was mad at ice.
