Mount Westmore Shared Their Picks For A Mount Rushmore Of East Coast Rappers

Some West Coast legends stopped by The People’s Party With Talib Kweli this week. Ice Cube, E-40, and Too Short, of supergroup Mount Westmore (which also includes Snoop Dogg), made an appearance on the web series, on which, they discussed who could parallel them on the opposite side of the country.

On Ice Cube’s Mount Rushmore of East Coast rappers are Jay-Z and Nas. E-40 noted that he would also include Busta Rhymes in the allotted four, citing his innovative craft.

Short admitted that he would switch up his picks every single time, however, would always include “Hip-Hop Hooray” hitmakers Naughty By Nature in his selection.

While each of them had different picks for East Coast GOATs, 40 maintained that the current Mount Rushmore of West Coast rapper is indisputable.

“I haven’t seen not one person argue about us being Mount Westmore,” E-40 said. “Young or old, you can’t.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Cube, Short, and 40 spoke about another West Coast legend — Tupac — and what he meant to them. 40 recalled Pac shouting him out on one of his earlier albums, before 40 had blown up.

“If he f*cked with you, he f*cked with you,” said 40. “He was uplifting to females and the urban community as well.”

Of Course, Snoop Dogg Is Bringing Death Row Records Into The Cannabis Business

Snoop Dogg’s personal joint roller, Renegade PerRana, recently shared with The Kyle And Jackie O Show that she’s rolled “over 450,000” joints for Snoop, including 75 to 100 per day, since taking up the job. Her services might be extended to Death Row Records soon. Snoop Dogg acquired his formative label in February, and ownership over the Death Row catalog started taking shape later that month. The top of 2023 will feature another Snoop-driven Death Row move.

Today, December 29, Death Row Records posted a teaser clip to Instagram soundtracked by Kevin Gilliam (aka DJ Battlecat). “Death Row Cannabis coming January 2023,” the caption read. The Death Row logo is featured, but of course, now he’s holding up a joint. Death Row Cannabis also launched an Instagram account of its own,

As noted by Forbes, Death Row Cannabis’ first product will be cannabis flower and “will be on shelves in the California marketplace, to start,” next week.

The publication additionally relayed, “Death Row Cannabis says its offerings will be for craft connoisseurs, with cannabis cultivated by AK, a legendary West Coast grower who was personally brought on by Snoop Dogg to lead the cultivation for the brand. AK is best known in the cannabis world for his role alongside former partner WizardTrees in sprouting, selecting, and crafting unique phenotypes of strains including RS11, Studio 54, and Shirazi from exotic cannabis breeder DEO.”

The new year figures to be huge for Death Row and Snoop. November 2023 will mark the 30th anniversary of Doggystyle, Snoop’s debut album on Death Row. Snoop revealed in late September on Stephen A. Smith’s K(no)w Mercy podcast that he and Dr. Dre had been in the studio working on a commemorative Doggystyle album, aptly titled Missionary.

Snoop Dogg Launches Death Row Cannabis

Death Row Cannabis Deck 2

For over 30 years, through countless chart-topping hits and landmark artists, Death Row Records has stood as one of the music industry’s most iconic and culturally significant platforms.

Today, it is under powerful new management. Recently acquired by Snoop Dogg, the infamous musical empire has reemerged as a multi-category cultural platform across music, fashion, entertainment, and cannabis, all united by the blockchain for a new generation.

Today at 8AM PT, their first cannabis drop will be announced on social media at @DeathRowRecords and @DeathRowCannabis, using an animation of their globally recognized logo and reveal of their branded pre-roll tube. The teaser video was created by artist MylarMen with a soundtrack by Kevin Gilliam aka DJ Battlecat. The 22-second clip is sure to electrify the global fans of the label while being a buzzy beginning of Death Row Records’ domination of the weed nation.

Promising to return Death Row to its former glory, all elements of the former label are being refitted for today’s audience and their evolving tastes. The first drop debuts in limited edition commemorative metallic bags, featuring the iconic hooded prisoner figure seated in an electric chair on the front. Important to note: this is a brand new version of the prisoner that was designed for the launch of the cannabis brand – the main difference being he has one hand broken free and is smoking a fat doobie.

Another especially exciting note for those cannabis connoisseurs is the man responsible for curating Death Row Cannabis. AK – hand-selected by Snoop himself – is a longtime West Coast legacy cultivator and industry insider, best known for his role alongside former partner WizardTrees in sprouting, selecting, and expertly growing the RS11, Studio 54, and Shirazi strains from exotic cannabis breeder DEO. He’s the man behind the IYKYK brand SMKRS, and he is also well known as the VP of Cultivation for TRP LLC, who owns a majority of the Cookies stores across the nation including their facilities in Florida.

AK’s reputation for growing “fire” weed and his palette when it comes to selecting winning strains, keeps people camped out in lines in front of their dispensaries.

Launching in-stores next week, Death Row Cannabis is not one to keep its fans waiting. The brand will soon make an announcement with an exact date and locations for their debut drop.

Select Cookies California stores (Brentwood, San Bernardino, and San Diego) will be the first locations to carry Death Row Cannabis, with other locations and more states to follow soon.

Snoop Dogg Has Fans Rolling With Laughter Over A Story About The ‘Most Stoned’ He’s Ever Been

Snoop Dogg has shared a lot of intriguing stories about his stoner escapades, from disproving claims he smokes 75-150 joints a day to launching a THC-infused chip brand. However, his recent re-reveal about the “most stoned” he’s ever been just might take the cake… Or the blunt.

To absolutely nobody’s surprise, Snoop was outsmoked by country legend Willie Nelson — resulting in a truly hilarious story that involves 4/20 and some KFC.

“We was in Amsterdam on 4/20 and he was doing a concert out there,” Snoop shared on the Let’s Go! podcast alongside Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray. “He performed on the 19th and I performed on the 20th. So we went back to his hotel room and we was playing dominoes. Willie had a vape, a joint, I had a blunt and he had a pipe.

“So me and him were playing dominoes one-on-one. He whooping my ass, and I’m just getting higher and higher and higher,” he continued. “And he just keep passing it to me, and I’m like, ‘This old m*thaf*cka’s outsmoking me,’ and I’m trying to stop but I can’t ’cause I don’t wanna show no signs of weakness.”

As the story goes, Snoop’s muchies set in.

“15 minutes into the session, I say, ‘Willie, let’s get something to eat, man,’” Snoop said. “And we go to Kentucky Fried Chicken, right, so we in the back of the van and when they bring the chicken from the drive-thru, they give it to us and me and Willie put our hands in the bucket at the same time. And we grab the same piece of chicken, Tom. And I look at him and say, ‘It’s yours, cuz.’”

Snoop’s story builds on his interviews on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live! from years ago, where he spilled and named Nelson, Cheech and Chong, and Bob Marley as the Mount Rushmore of stoners.

Snoop Dogg Serenaded Tom Brady With A Christmas Carol While Smoking A Blunt

After changing his mind on retirement in March and returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 22nd NFL season, Tom Brady hasn’t had many reasons to smile in 2022. The seven-time Super Bowl champion finalized a divorce from Gisele Bündchen, his wife of 13 years, in October. The Bucs have stumbled to a 6-8 record, and Brady uncharacteristically accounted for four turnovers in a 34-23 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, December 18.

Who did Brady call to help him get in the holiday spirit? The same person I’d call if I could: Snoop Dogg.

Snoop appeared on the December 19 episode of Let’s Go, Brady’s SiriusXM podcast with fellow NFL great Larry Fitzgerald and sportscaster Jim Gray. He serenaded Brady and Gray, both beaming like children, with an original Christmas carol.

“These nuts roasting on an open fire / Jack Frost nipping at the night,” Snoop sang while lighting a blunt. “It’s time for Jim Grady and TB to get away / But before they do / Roasting on a blunt, on an open fire / Jack Frost nipping at the smoke / Oh, Jim, oh, Tom / What a time that we had / Happy holidays from the D.O. Double G.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Brady asked Snoop to name the time he was most stoned in his life. “With Willie f*cking Nelson,” the new Death Row Records boss said. “We was in Amsterdam on 4/20.”

Snoop Dogg Says That His Time With Death Row Records “Broke My Spirit”

Snoop Dogg Kevin Hart Olympics

At one point, Death Row Records was the biggest rap label in the game. They launched the careers of Snoop Dogg and Tha Dogg Pound, released classics such as The Chronic and Doggystyle, and even signed 2Pac after he was released from prison in 1995, eventually releasing All Eyez On Me and The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory.

Despite their major success, things were not always as good as they seemed. After 2Pac’s murder, Dre’s departure from Death Row, and Suge going to jail, Snoop Dogg was left in a state of uncertainty about his career. In a new interview with the 85 South show, the Doggfather explained how his time with Death Row broke his spirit.

When talking about his time with No Limit, he said that it was a drastic change from the environment at Death Row. He stated that “They was soldiers, for real. Organized. Structured. Them niggas didn’t play, and P was serious about his business.”

He added that he had to essentially start from level one when he came to No Limit and thought that he was not a star due to his treatment at Death Row.

“But I wasn’t,” Snoop said. “My spirit wasn’t that. See that’s what you gotta understand. N-ggas broke my spirit. That broke me, man. They broke my spirit. Look, Doggystyle, working on Doggfather, win my murder case, Dre leaves, Tupac get killed, Suge going to jail, Death Row want to kill me. That’s all in the same year.”

Now, in a full circle moment, Snoop owns Death Row and has big plans for it in the future.

Snoop Dogg Says Death Row Broke His Spirit & Tried To Kill Him

Well before he was hosting Puppy Bowls with Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg helped propel Death Row into hip-hop’s premium label. However, his time on Death Row wasn’t necessarily the smoothest. Between cross-country feuds and Suge Knight’s hostility, Snoop’s leap to No Limit in the late 90s was a crucial move that undoubtedly saved his career and his life.

During his recent appearance on 85 South Show, Snoop Dogg reflected on working with Master P following a tumultuous time at Death Row. Snoop said that Master P ran the program differently compared to Suge Knight, who owned everything that the Doggystyle rapper had.

“They was soldiers, for real. Organized. Structured,” he explained. “Them n***as didn’t play, and P was serious about his business…”

Snoop explained Master P showed him a different side of music industry during his early time with the label. However, C-Murder and Soulja Slim were still bringing him to the projects, despite Master P telling them not to.

“I’m violating but then I’m listening then I’m watching how they not listening then I said, ‘I’m not going to be a bad student. I’ma stop doing what they doing,’” Snoop said.

Though P put Snoop to work, he also provided opportunities to own property and get his money up. Snoop said that P told him he’d get paid for every album he appeared on until eventually, he brought the West Coast rapper to a gated community to purchase a house of his own and a car from the dealership. Snoop revealed it was the first time owning anything under his own name.

“This was the first time shit was in my name. Everything was in Suge Knight’s name,” he said.

Karlous Miller noted how Snoop was humble to have gone from a Death Row star to starting from the ground up on No Limit. “That was real humble of you just to — ’cause you was already Snoop Dogg,” Miller said.

“But I wasn’t,” Snoop responded. “My spirit wasn’t that. See that’s what you gotta understand. N***as broke my spirit. Thet broke me, man. They broke my spirit. Look, Doggystyle, workin’ on Doggfather, win my murder case, Dre leaves, Tupac get killed, Suge going to jail, Death Row want to kill me. That’s all in the same year.”

Twitter Users Want Snoop Dogg To Run Twitter If Elon Musk Really Does Step Down As CEO

So far, Elon Musk’s tenure at Twitter has been marked by chaos, ineptitude, and worrying anti-journalist behavior, but under its next CEO, the vibe should be decidedly more chill. That is, of course, only if users who voted on a recent poll have their pick for the next person to run the platform. Snoop Dogg, who previously joked about buying Twitter after Elon initially balked on his own offer before being forced to follow through by a lawsuit issued by Twitter, ran a poll on his own feed asking fans, “Should I run Twitter?”

After a little of 2.5 million votes and with 6 hours left of the poll, the answer appears to be a resounding “yes” — although it’s possible that most users just think anyone would be better than Musk, whose antics have lost him his “world’s richest person” status and look like they might actually be the death of the platform he spent $44 billion on. Snoop, of course, will probably be way too busy getting his Broadus Foods cereal, children’s educational programming, and pet products businesses off the ground, but you never know. If nothing else, at least he knows how to use the app and doesn’t seem interested in using it to spread right-wing conspiracy theories, so that would be an improvement in itself.

Snoop Dogg Suggests Himself As Elon Musk’s Twitter Replacement

Could Elon Musk’s short-lived reign as head of Twitter be coming to an end? If the results of his most recent poll on the app mean anything, then the answer is a resounding yes. Luckily, there are already a few brave souls brave enough to want to replace him should he depart.

As AllHipHop notes, the South African became the proud owner of the social media site at the end of October. Since then, we’ve seen nothing short of chaos ensue with mass layoffs and lawsuit threats. Lately, there’s even been the suspension of several journalists from the platform.

Speaking of the latter matter, Musk also used a Twitter poll to determine whether reporters who he claimed were guilty of doxxing him should be allowed back on the app immediately, or if they should have to wait a week. Later, the father of 10 spoke to some of the unbanned during a Spaces session. When his actions were compared to how the site previously handled the Hunter Biden article, he was quick to leave the chat.

On Sunday (December 18), the CEO asked his 122.2M followers if he should “step down as head” of his recent multi-billion dollar purchase. “I will abide by the results of this poll.

The final count shows that 42.5% want Musk to stay in his position. The majority 57.5%, though, would be happy to see him relinquish some control. This is likely largely due to the consistent and unusual changes he’s making on the popular platform.

First it was charging a monthly fee to obtain a verified badge (thus resulting in an abundance of impersonations). Now he’s preventing users from promoting their other social media profiles on Twitter. As a result, many are becoming increasingly disappointed in their recent user experience.

A report from TMZ reveals that on Sunday (December 18), Musk made an announcement via Support. “We recognize that many of our users are active on other social media platforms,” the statement reads.

“However, we will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on Twitter. Specifically, we will remove accounts created solely for the purpose of promoting other social platforms and content that contains links or usernames for the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr and Post.”

To clarify, Support noted that they’re banning the cross-posting of content between sites. What they want to avoid is “unadulterated plugging of one’s other accounts” that lead away from Twitter. It seems that Linktree URLs are also prohibited, which many content creators use to direct fans to their various pages.

Amid all the chaos, Snoop Dogg has come forward on the website with an interesting poll of his own. “Should I run Twitter?” the Death Row head asked his 20.8M followers yesterday.

A resounding 81% have voted yes so far, with another six hours left to get yours in at the time of publishing.

Do you think Snoop Dogg would be a good contender for Twitter head in the event that Elon Musk steps down? Let us know below, and check back later for any updates on the situation.
