On this week’s episode of Call Her Daddy, Alex Cooper sits down with millennial rapper Saweetie, who opens up about her current approach to relationships, the craziest way she caught a partner cheating on her, when you should keep gifts from an ex and why she might be done dating rappers. She also discusses her love of hot Cheetos, the time she was renting rooms from Craigslist, coding on Myspace, and her new music.

The Cali rapper talks about how she is perceived by the public, saying, I would say in the earlier on in my career, I would say, I would just disassociate myself from Saweetie ’cause there’s Diamonté and there’s Saweetie. I’m like, “Okay, if y’all knew Diamonté, to know me is to love me.” She adds, “Y’all wouldn’t be doing all this shitty stuff to me. So, at first, it was disassociation, but now I’m just so at peace with just who I am. I’m like, “God knows my heart,” and as long as God knows my heart, there’s no problem.”

When it comes to dating, Saweetie jokes that her only companion is her career. I am seeing somebody….Their name starts with a C… Do you want to know their name?…My career, girl.”  She goes on to say, I just feel like I’m at a really special time in my career and I just have all these ideas and I want to channel my energy in a way where I feel like I can make the steps to where I see myself going and you know, I’m just really happy right now. I’m happy where my life is heading, so I’m dating my career.”

[WATCH] Ice Cube Explains “Kendrick Before Kendrick” Line On SiriusXM Rock The Bells Radio

Ice Cube recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Rock The Bells Radio to promote his upcoming album Man Down. During the interview with SiriusXM’s Torae, Ice Cube elaborated on his lyric stating he was “Kendrick before Kendrick [Lamar].”

Check out the clip from Rock The Bells Radio HERE

Known for making what was arguably the best diss track of all time, Ice Cube is basing his statement on a large part of Hip Hop history. When N.W.A. was one of the most popular groups in Hip Hop, Cube decided to leave the group and dropped “No Vaseline”, the song from his Death Certificate LP, which was the catalyst that caused N.W.A. to eventually be disbanded. K Dot’s “They Not Like Us” has now become THE greatest diss track, but the title didn’t leave the West Coast, even though it took over three decades for Ice Cube’s monumental track to be matched.

Check out Chuck’s favorite PE cuts HERE

When asked about his favorite PE joints, Chuck replied, “I like them all ’cause they just like, you know, like kids. You don’t rate your kids, so I mean, it’s like, to me personally, I like, “Welcome to Terrordome.” You know, Keith came in and put the spanking on that. I like “Harder Than You Think” ’cause it’s easy to do and it was done so quick and that’s Gary G-Whiz. Of course, “Rebel Without a Pause.” “Shut Em Down” is always a favorite. “Public Enemy No. 1″ is because it was our first, you know, and I wanted to make a record that made people look at it ugly and made them run away. I didn’t want to, you know, I’m always that difficult dude, so I don’t want you to say you like my shit. Matter of fact, I want you to say you hate my so I could beat your ass with it. How about that? That’s what I like.”

WHenever someone’s mother is mentioned, everyone is all ears, but Chcuk was very candid about why he was upset with his hypeman’s mom.

On this week’s episode of SiriusXM’s “This Life of Mine with James Corden,”James speaks with Dr. Dre.

During the interview, the recent Hollywood spoke about working with Snoop Dogg on his new, upcoming album, his health challenges, having to be an adult at a very young age and also some of his favorite hits that he’s produced in his illustrious music career. He also delved into working with undoubtedly one of the best emcees of all time, Eminem.

Dr. Dre on working with Eminem and how he’s the best MC. “I think he’s the best MC ever. Point blank, period. Of course, there are going to be arguments about that because he’s a white guy. I don’t think anyone that’s rapping can touch Eminem on that microphone.”

Check out a clip from the interview where Dre speaks about Em HERE

When Corden asked about his first time encountering Mathers, Dre responded, “I was just starting this new thing. I was just starting this new thing, this new campaign with Aftermath Records and I was working on my second solo album at the time and it was just okay. I was at Jimmy Iovine’s house. I used to go to Jimmy Iovine’s house every Sunday and he would play movies and before the movie, we would go down to his garage which he turned into a listening room and he would just play demos, play demos and he just said one day, “What do you think about this?” You know and he played this artist which was Eminem and I had no idea he was a white guy at the time. He played it and I’m like, “Yeah, give me that. Give me that.” I took it home with me and I could stop playing this shit. Couldn’t stop playing it and Jimmy called me the next day and he’s like, “You know it’s white guy, right?” I got to do my Jimmy impression. “You know it’s white guy, right?” I’m like, “Oh, okay,” so long story short, I met Eminem at Jimmy Iovine’s office. We slapped hands, went to the studio and started recording and I’m not sure if anybody knows this, but I think the first four albums was just me and him and his writing and his delivery and his imagination is off the charts and I don’t think anyone would disagree with that.”

[WATCH] WTC’s RZA Appears On SiriusXM’s ‘The Tor Guide’, Announces Las Vegas Residency

Screenshot 2023 12 12 at 9.15.00 PM

RZA recently appeared on SiriusXM’s The Tor Guide hosted by Toraeon SiriusXM’s Hip-Hop Nation. During the interview, RZA discussed recording new music with Wu-Tang Clan and announced the upcoming Wu Tang Clan Las Vegas Resdency, which is slated for February.

The show’s host Torae asked, “As we talk about new music, how often are you recording with the guys? Obviously, just coming off tour and being back together, we’ll talk about that camaraderie and that energy, but how often are you actually creating music with the guys?” RZA swiftly responded,  “It’s rare. It’s getting rarer because of schedules, because of life, because of being fathers and movie stars and businessmen, but it happens. You know what I mean?” The Abbott added, “The good thing is that whether it happens with me, it still happens. Mathematics, his production skill is razor sharp, so we could just pop up and he’ll hit us with a joint. DJ Scratch has dropped a couple of joints off, Swizz Beats a couple of joint off. You know, in the old days, I was very, you know, just dominant like, “This all my beats,” and that’s because in the old days, I didn’t feel that other producers were giving the hip-hop type of beat that I thought was dope for Wu. If you pay attention to hip-hop and you listen to Wu, one thing you may recognize is that a Wu joint will come on and nobody won’t dance. Everybody listens and because of that is because I don’t want you to dance. I want you to listen, you know what I mean? That means that while a lot of producers was producing for the club and trying to make people dance and produce a radio hit, I was producing for hip-hop.”

Memphis Bleek Reflects On Jay-Z’s Wild Behavior In His Younger Years

Jay-Z is seen by many as a mature and laid-back rap veteran. He rarely makes public comments or appearances but when he does he’s always effortlessly cool and composed. His most recent studio album, 2017’s 4:44 dives deep on lessons he’s learned in his life and how he reached the point of maturity he’s arrived at. But for those familiar with his backstory, he wasn’t always this focused. Very few are as familiar as former Roc-A-Fella signee Memphis Bleek who told some vintage Hov stories in a recent SiriusXM interview.

“Y’all young n*ggas ain’t really been through nothing. Until you turned the club upside down and they lock you in the club and now you have to pay to leave, you ain’t really turned up, he begins the discussion. He details the full story of Jay-Z having to pay a hefty price after wrecking a Miami club. “We turned this club up in Miami upside down,” he explained. “They made us pay 50 grand to leave. Hov, he had to pay 50 racks. Police and everything, they extorted the f*ck out of us. We cracked heads, foreheads, faces. We was going crazy. They locked the doors, we had to pay to get out,” his story concludes. Check out the interview clip below.

Bleek is also well aware of Jay-Z’s current reputation. “They see billionaire dread Hov, they think my man ain’t got them hands. Hov will put knuckles on you. He’ll put them hard bottoms on your a*s too,” Bleek explains. “All that cool, laid-back Beyoncé Hov, I love it, but back then, he was on some sh*t,” the segment concludes.

Jay-Z popped up last week alongside Beyonce at a premiere event for her Renaissance Tour film. Hov was present for numerous shows along the summer tour and videos of him in the crowd circulated online following nearly every performance.
