Draymond Green’s Ejection Gets A Perfect Response From Shaq

Shaq had a hilarious response to the sight of Draymond Green putting Rudy Gobert during a brawl less than two minutes into Warriors-Timberwolves. The Hall of Famer’s response came during Inside The NBA‘s half-time segment. After the team had discussed Clippers-Nuggets, they turned to Shaq. The self-described “best musician in the NBA” proceeded to remix the show’s theme song (Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out”) to reflect Green’s actions, instead playing “Mama Said Choke You Out”.

The NBA is still yet to announce a punishment for Green, who was ejected alongside teammate Klay Thompson and the Timberwolves’ Jaden McDaniels. However, on Get Up, Jay Williams said he would not be surprised if the Green was suspended for at least ten games for his behavior. Following the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr defended his player. “As far as the Draymond piece of it, Rudy had his hands on Klay’s neck. That’s why Draymond went after Rudy.” Kerr told reporters.

Shaq Picks Hilarious Halloween Costume For Inside The NBA

However, this is just Shaq’s latest piece of hilarity on the show. Last week, he was the far and away winner of the Halloween costume contest between the show’s four hosts. Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson both played it safe, going the pop culture route as Top Gun‘s Iceman and The Godfather‘s Vito Corleone respectively. Meanwhile, Charles Barkley threw it back to an iconic Kevin Durant insult leveled at him, coming into work as a bus driver. However, Shaq took the cake as he rolled up to set as “Emo Jimmy Butler”, a reference to one of the offseason’s more viral moments. Everything about the costume was perfect, from the painfully 2000s wig to the fake nose and lip rings.

Butler wasn’t playing on Halloween night, with the Heat having lost to the Bucks on the day before. However, it was definitely one of the standout costumes of the evening. Of course, Giannis had set the tone after that Bucks victory, showing up to his post-game press conference dressed as the Hulk. However, perhaps the closest contender to Shaq’s meme reference was Victor Wembanyama. The 7″4 Spurs rookie perfectly embodied Slenderman as he rolled up to the team’s game against the Suns. In fact, Wemby’s outfit was referenced on Inside The NBA, with Barkley roasting Shaq for not knowing who Slenderman was.

Shaq’s Daughter Commits To Florida

Me’Arah O’Neal, the daughter and youngest child of Shaq, has signed a national letter of intent with the Florida Gators. In a ceremony at her stepfather’s church in Texas, O’Neal chose Florida over seven other schools, including her father’s alma mater, LSU. “I went on the Florida visit, and I had a feeling that’s where I belonged. And that I was going to be most successful if I went to go play at Florida. I felt like I connected with Coach Kelly more than I connected with any of the other schools that recruited me. She really cares about me not just on the court but off the court. That’s important for me,” O’Neal said.

The #33 recruit in the 2024 class, O’Neal joins a promising Gators class that also includes #16 recruit Alivia McGill, the highest-ranked recruit Florida has ever landed in women’s basketball. Furthermore, O’Neal said that the choice to sign with the Gators was hers alone. “My family was just there to support me. I was pressuring myself to make a decision, but I learned I had to be patient. And I did make this decision on my own,” she said.

How Good Is Shaq’s Daughter?

Due to WNBA eligibility rules, O’Neal won’t be able to declare for the draft until 2028. However, she’s made it clear that it’s a step she wants to take. “I wanna make it to the WNBA. I wanna hold my own name, I wanna just be the best basketball player that I could be. Just reach my full potential and get a championship, make All-Star. Do all the big stuff and eventually make the Hall of Fame,” O’Neal said. Additionally, it’s a goal that her father believes is completely possible. “If she keeps it up, she will definitely be in the history books,” Shaq told ESPN.

It’s still unclear where O’Neal’s ceiling is. However, both her brothers and her coach think she’s one of the next big things for women’s basketball. “I’ve seen it [her game] develop tremendously. Because when we were kids, we’d always go at it. And like I said, I’d rough her up,” noted her brother Shaqir, who plays for Texas Southern. “We haven’t seen the best of her yet, like, not even close. I think we’re just scratching the surface. She’s just starting to blossom. … But we’ll see some amazing things,” added her private coach, ex-NBAer Moochie Norris.

Shaq’s Daughter To Announce College Commitment This Weekend

Me’Arah O’Neal, the daughter of NBA legend Shaq, is set to announce her college commitment this weekend in Houston. The news came as part of a lengthy ESPN profile about O’Neal’s journey as a player and her fight to leave her father’s shadow. Earlier this year, O’Neal revealed her eight finalists to be Arizona State, Baylor, Cal, Georgia Tech, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, and Tennessee. She will reveal her final decision at The Dream Center, the community center attached to her stepfather’s church. Reportedly, she told her father over lunch which school she intended to declare for earlier this week.

While O’Neal has her decision from a field of eight, she was initially approached by essentially every top program in the country. O’Neal is #33 on ESPN‘s Top 100 recruits for 2024. Furthermore, she is just one of nine recruits in the top 50 who are yet to declare for a college. “The word ‘elite’ is a little overused. But if you’re talking elite, she’s elite. There’s no question,” said ESPN’s director of recruiting analysis Shane Laflin.

Royce Reed Claims Shaq Used To “Curse Her Out” For Ignoring Him While He Was Married To Shaunie

Royce Reed has claimed that Shaq used to “curse her out” for ignoring him when he would hit her up, despite being married to Shaunie. Speaking with Carlos King, Reed explained how eventually, she came clean with Shaunie about everything that Shaq had said to her, showing her all the messages that Shaq had sent to her trying to find an in.

Shaq and Shaunie were married from 2002 to 2011, with Shaunie citing “irreconcilable differences” when filing the divorce that would be finalized in 2011. Shaq has repeatedly taken ownership of the divorce since it happened. In his own words, he made mistakes and was greedy. It’s unknown if his pursuit of Reed was one of these “mistakes” that cost him his marriage.

Shaq Reflects On Past Relationships

Earlier this year, Shaq opened up about the mistakes he had made in previous relationships. “I had two perfect women and I messed it up. My first one was my baby mother, Arnetta [Yardbourgh], and then I met Shaunie [Nelson]. Shaunie was also a perfect woman and I messed it up. Yeah, you know, we were young and always just doing dumb stuff. But, you know, the good thing about our relationship is that they forgave me and we have a good relationship now. But when you ask me about the perfect woman, I had two perfect women and I messed it up. Just by, you know, being dumb,” Shaq said.

“I tell my sons all the time: ‘A man has three jobs when it comes to a woman. Protect, provide, and love. Some men can only offer two, for whatever reason, but I’ma teach you how to offer all three.’ And that’s what I try to do. Even though I don’t have a relationship with the women that I let get away, I will always PPL: protect, provide, and love. Whatever they need, they get it from me,” he concluded. “Shaunie’s married, I’m happy for her. I hope this gentleman treats her the way she’s supposed to be treated, and I’ma still love her. She’s still my wife, I will always protect, provide, and love for her, married or not. No, it’s just how I was raised. You protect, you provide, and you love your woman,” he continued.

Rick Ross Recalls Almost Signing With Shaquille O’Neal

Rick Ross recently revealed that he nearly signed with Shaquille O’Neal when the NBA star launched T.W.IsM. records back in the 1990s. Speaking with Complex during an interview alongside Meek Mill, Ross discussed his relationship with Shaq. The comments come as Ross and Meek prepare for the release of their collaborative project, Too Good To Be True.

“Many years ago, I met with Shaq when he was launching his T.W.IsM. records. We met in Atlanta somewhere, we met in a restaurant. We was in the restaurant then we in the back, in the kitchen. I spit a few bars for him. He gave me his contact. We stayed in touch over a little while but you know how it go.” From there, Ross joked about how far he’s come since then: “Sh*t, I might sign him. Why not?”

Ross and Meek plan to drop Too Good To Be True on November 10. Timbaland recently revealed that he’s heard the project while speaking with 99JAMZ radio station in Miami. He described it as a “masterpiece.” “Ross giving you that Big Meech Ross,” Timbaland expressed. “And that’s all we want. We don’t want Ross to sound like Uzi Vert. That album says a lot to me because Meek is being Meek, whether you like it or not. It’s not dated, it sounds current, it sounds fresh, and it sounds like a classic. And you could tell the space they in. I don’t even need to talk to him and ask what space he in, you can hear it through the music.”

Shaq Dresses As Emo Jimmy Butler For Halloween Episode Of “Inside The NBA”

Shaq was without a doubt the winner of Inside The NBA‘s costume contest. Wembanyama & Spurs Stun The Suns

However, Wemby’s costume wasn’t the only scary thing about Spurs-Suns. Phoenix, widely considered one of the major contenders in the West, found themselves left holding nothing but candy corn and an apple. Up as many as 20 in the third quarter, and up 10 with about 5 to go in the fourth, the Suns clearly thought they had the game in the bag. Despite this, the Spurs kept pushing and with 6.1 seconds left, Wembanyama slammed down a putback dunk to close the gap to one. The ball found itself in the hands of Kevin Durant, only for Keldon Johnson to execute a nasty steal and drive to the basket for the one-point win.

“I seen Tre had him in the corner, and I was just like, sh-t, let’s make a play. The worst that could happen was they call the foul and they shoot free throws. But we had to make something happen. Time was running down. So my mindset was just make a play on the ball and, after that, just try to finish it,” Johnson said of the game-winning moment. While the Suns lamented bad officiating on their failed foul pull, even Durant admitted that it was just one of those things. The win was huge for the Spurs, especially after the 40-point blowout they suffered over the weekend. They have another game against the Suns tomorrow.

Shaq Has Hilarious Reaction To Lil Wayne Kicking Him Off His Lakers Mt. Rushmore: Watch

Shaq has hit up his comedic ways once again, reacting to Lil Wayne naming and then removing him from his Lakers Mount Rushmore. The video shows Wayne naming his Mount Rushmore as “Kareem, Magic, Kobe, Shaq,” before cutting to Shaq mugging the camera giddily. However, the video then cuts back to Wayne who corrects himself. “Sorry. Kobe, LeBron,” Wayne says before the video cuts back to Shaq, who is now crying. It’s a hilarious little skit, which was made even better by Shaq’s caption for the video. “Dam I was only up there a half a second. Whyyyyyyyyyy,” the Lakers legend wrote.

However, it’s not the only comedy that Shaq has been getting up to. Rick Ross had a very special gift for Shaq during a recent appearance on Inside The NBA. Ross gifted Shaq some new bling in the form of a sparkling new MMG chain and pendant. Shaq seemingly loved the gift, saying “I’m gonna kill it at the hookah bar in this,” in a truly classic Shaq response. Adding to the hilarity of the video is how small the larger-than-life Ross looks when standing next to Shaq.

Wayne Recalls Meeting LeBron For The First Time

It’s no wonder that Wayne replaced Shaq with LeBron. He recently recalled the first time he met the Lakers star. “I had a show in Ohio. Slim, Birdman’s older brother, called me he was like, ‘I got a player out there in Ohio. He want to come to your show. He gon’ be the one. I’m telling you Wayne, he’s a young Michael Jordan. When I got downstairs, that man was still downstairs in a suburban. He had like three or four homies with him. What I remember was his arm was in a cast and they was protecting that and protecting that as in being seen. That’s what told me oh he must be somebody. I’ll never forget he had the time of his life. He remember that night, I remember that night. It was an unforgettable time.”

Furthermore, earlier this year, Wayne noted that he now considered him above Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate. “I don’t know Bron personally. My answer for Bron is on the court. I know for a fact I loved Jordan for the way he always won. I got old enough to know how hard it is to f-cking do it back-to-back-to-back. So that’s where he got his respect with me to and started getting his respect with me to where he’s the greatest. It’s very hard to do, and that n-gga Bron did that shit with three different teams. That’s right there, that’s when regardless he ain’t got six, but he done it with three different teams. And not on one of those muthaf-ckin’ teams did he play role two. That right there is what tipped him over the Jordan scale for me.”

The appearance on the show comes with a new collab between music and basketball legends. The pair just released their remix of Ross and Meek Mill’s “Shaq & Kobe”, which also features Damian Lillard. “The Very Biggest of them All @shaq, we been family, dat new #mmg piece just a small token for what you mean not only to myself but this entire Culture. Dat big brother WE never knew WE had,” Ross wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of him and Shaq.

Rick Ross Continues Trolling DJ Envy

Meanwhile, many took Ross’ team up with Shaq as yet another shot at DJ Envy. Ross has had it out for The Breakfast Club host for a while. However, Envy’s legal issues involving real estate fraud have only heightened Ross’ lines of attack. As reports came in that federal agents had raided the IHeartRadio studios, Ross couldn’t help but take some shots at Envy. “15 names on one piece of land, 14 n-ggas gonna take the stand,” Ross spat on Instagram. The bar is a direct reference to the charges that Envy has been connected with. Given the wide-ranging nature of the fraud, which centers on an undeveloped apartment complex, there is going to be no shortage of testimony at an eventual trial.

However, Ross isn’t the only person going in on Envy. Akademiks, never one to shy away from a sticky situation, questioned why anyone would trust Envy with financial matters. “How do you let DJ Envy affect your financial decisions? Half the time I’m listening to The Breakfast Club, these n-ggas even can’t read what’s on the f-ckin’ paper. No disrespect to none of those people up there. I really like them. But these n-ggas can barely read what’s on the f-ckin’ Rumor Report. You think I’m giving them a million dollars? F-ck no, man. You crazy as hell,” Ak said earlier this month.

Reebok Pays Tribute to Shaq’s Dominant Playing Years with Shaq Attaq “MVP” Release

Reebok Pays Tribute to Shaq's Dominant Playing Years with Shaq Attaq "MVP" Release

Reebok, the iconic sports culture brand, is celebrating the prolific playing years of basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal with the release of the Shaq Attaq “MVP.” The early 2000s were undeniably Shaq’s most dominant playing years, marked by three MVP awards.

In 2000, Shaq earned three different MVP awards in a single season, including the league MVP. He continued his remarkable streak with additional finals MVP awards in 2001 and 2002, cementing his legacy. The Shaq Attaq “MVP” pays tribute to these glorious years with its iconic Pump custom-fit technology, a premium black and white upper, L.A. purple accents, and metallic trophy gold detailing.

Reebok’s commitment to re-emerge as a leader in team sports was reinforced with the recent appointment of Shaquille O’Neal as President of Reebok Basketball.

“When I joined the brand back in ’92, never did I think I’d be sitting where I am today,” commented Shaq. “This is a true full circle moment for me, and I couldn’t be more proud or more excited.  I’ve had a lot of different roles in my life, but this one is probably the most special.”

The partnership between Shaq and Reebok began in 1992 when he was a rookie. Over the years, it evolved into one of the most prolific and impactful athlete-brand collaborations in industry history.

The Shaq Attaq “MVP” will be available for purchase from Reebok.com and select retailers starting on Nov. 3, allowing fans to celebrate the dominant era of a basketball legend.

Angel Reese Becomes Shaq’s First Reebok Signing

Angel Reese has signed an exclusive deal with Reebok, becoming the first athlete to join the sneaker brand since Shaq became the company’s President of Basketball. In an interview announcing the deal, Reese said that Shaq’s presence was a prominent factor in sealing the deal. “Now that he’s just been announced as their President of Basketball, that is inspirational to me, just being able to see an athlete or former athlete shift from not just being an athlete, but being the president of the brand is something that’s important. I would love to do that one day,” Reese said.

Shaq has previously called Reese the LSU GOAT and the two Tigers appear to share a close bond. While the terms of the deal were not announced, it’s a fairly unsurprising move given their history. Shaq was announced as the company’s new President of Basketball last week after the brand announced a major re-investment into the basketball market. Fellow Hall of Famer Allen Iverson was named the VP of Basketball at the same time.

Reese & LSU Preseason #1 In AP Poll

The news comes just a few days after the Reese-led LSU program was ranked #1 in the first women’s basketball AP poll of the year. The Tigers received 35 of 36 first-place votes after adding Hailey Van Lith and Aneesah Morrow in the transfer portal. It’s the highest preseason rank the Tigers have ever held and their first top-three preseason ranking since 2005. LSU was ranked #2 in the 1977 preseason poll. The Tigers open the season against #20 Colorado in Las Vegas on November 6.

The return of Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd from injury saw UConn take the #2 spot in the poll. The appearance marks UConn’s 565th consecutive week on the AP Poll, tying the record set by Tennessee. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark and Iowa sit at #3. UCLA and Utah round out the top five. 2021 champions Stanford find themselves ranked at #15, their lowest preseason spot since 2015. This comes after losing several prominent members of their team to graduation and transfers.
