GloRilla Reacts To Money Man Name-Dropping Her On “Saweetie” Song

Artists name-dropping each other on their tracks definitely isn’t anything new. Still, that doesn’t mean the celebrity at the butt of the bar is always happy to hear what’s being said about them. Most recently, it seems GloRilla is upset with Money Man over his rhyme about her on his “Saweetie” song. It landed on his first project of 2023, Red Eye, earlier this month. Of course, the “FTCU” hitmaker isn’t the only one mentioned by the 37-year-old, though she does seem to be taking it more personally than anyone else.

“Brown skin bitch, she feelin’ on my chest, she look like Saweetie / My unc’ still cookin’ dope up in the kitchen, bumpin’ Jeezy,” the quick-witted rhymer says on his chorus. On the first verse, however, is when he name-drops the southern rap diva. “Skinny bitch inside my DMs, she remind me of GloRilla / I had drew down on a fan, but he only wanted a picture,” Money Man’s noteworthy mention of her infamously petite figure goes.

Money Man Name-Drops GloRilla on “Saweetie”

As is customary when a hot new hip-hop song arrives, social media has been reposting the lyrics across various platforms. Of course, it wasn’t long before GloRilla got wind of them. She even took some time to reply to one person quoting the bar online on Sunday (March 26). “Skinny bihh in my DM, she reminds me of GloRilla,” they wrote, causing the 23-year-old to clap back, “Hey guys, what song is this??????????? I hate it.” Clearly, she’s not a fan of Money Man’s latest project, or at least not “Saweetie.”

GloRilla is undeniably slimmer than many of her contemporaries due to her decision to forego plastic surgery. However, she’s always let her confidence shine through despite trolls making nasty comments. In the past, her Twitter feed has lit up with claims that people are constantly asking her about her BBL, as well as reminders that she’ll always see herself as curvaceous and thick, despite what any haters out there have to say. Stream Money Man’s “Saweetie” on YouTube above, and revisit the Ohio native’s Red Eye project here afterward.

Saweetie Plots A Heist For A $75K ‘Candy Crush’ All Stars Tournament Championship Ring

Gaming is big business these days and everybody wants a piece. Last year, Lil Nas X teamed up with League Of Legends to release a theme song for the game’s world championship, and Snoop Dogg joined the cast of Call Of Duty. Earlier this month, Grand Theft Auto tapped Dr. Dre and 50 Cent for an in-game event leading to the announcement of a spin-off TV show produced by 50.

Not to be left out, Saweetie has partnered with Candy Crush to help promote the Candy Crush All Stars tournament, which kicked off today. Yeah, I didn’t know that was a thing, either. In a delightful teaser, Saweetie recruits a team of Icy Girls to plot a heist for the championship rings, only to be foiled by Atlanta-based jeweler, Z, who also helped design the rings with his brothers Mo and Rafi (collectively known as Icebox). While she fails to get the rings, she certainly looks like she’s having a blast chasing the jeweler around the “Candy Crush Headquarters” garage.

She’s got good reason to want to skip the line; according to a press release, the diamond-encrusted rings are worth $75,000. Unfortunately for her, they’re only available to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the tournament, so hopefully, she’s been keeping her skills on Candy Crush Saga as sharp as her nails. You can check out the game today to sign up for the tournament, which is open to anyone over 18 years old and level 25 and higher. Ten finalists will be flown to London for the last round and compete for the $250,000 prize pot.

Saweetie is no stranger to video game partnerships; in February, she performed in-game for the ever-popular Roblox and a couple of years ago, she and Uncle Snoop hosted aa Madden NFL tournament.

Saweetie Would Love To Work With Rihanna For A Dance Record That Would ‘Get The Party Going’

Saweetie is moving the needle this week by claiming Lil Nas X as her “celebrity guy crush” and blaming her Zodiac sign for the ongoing delay of her debut album. The two-time Grammy nominee also provided an update on the album, and her response is sure to get the people going.

“I’m working on the album. I’m really focused on my craft right now,” Saweetie told Metro UK in an interview published Monday, March 20. “I’m about to drop some treatments and … direct with some directors to shoot some new music videos.”

She added, “I definitely want to work with Rihanna. [Super Bowl LVII] wasn’t even a game. It was the Rihanna concert. [We would] release a dance record to get the party going.”

Rihanna performed the halftime show at February’s Super Bowl LVII to a modest television audience of 118.7 million. Her sprawling set doubled as a pregnancy announcement, as she confirmed she is carrying her second child with ASAP Rocky. (Their son was born last May.)

Most recently, Rihanna attended the 2023 Oscars on March 12 and earned a standing ovation for her live rendition of the Oscar-nominated “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The power ballad’s October release marked Rihanna’s official return to music — and the Billboard charts — as her last album was 2016’s Anti, so fans are desperate for a Rihanna dance record to get the party going.

Saweetie Wants Rihanna “Dance Record” Collab

She’s unashamedly putting it out in the universe that she wants to work with Rihanna, and we can’t blame Saweetie at all. The Bay Area hitmaker joins thousands of other creatives who wish to one day link in the studio with the billionaire mogul. The two ladies share a commonality: no one knows when either of them will release their next album. Rihanna hasn’t given us a full-length record since 2016’s Anti, and Saweetie has been mapping out her official debut album, Pretty B*tch Music, for years.

While it seems RiRi has been busy building her billionaire Fenty brand and welcoming babies into the world, Saweetie’s fans aren’t sure what’s keeping her project on ice. The “My Type” hitmaker caught up with Metro UK to discuss her phantom release that apparently has “more collaborations” than her fans will expect. Again, she insists the album is close to being completed. “Definitely way before the end of the year,” she said of its date. “I’m working on the album, I’m really focused on my craft right now.”

Saweetie Is In Full Swing

As she edges closer to Prety B*tch Music‘s arrival, Saweetie details what’s next. “I’m about to drop some treatments and collaborate some,” she revealed. “Direct with some directors to shoot some new music videos.” Of course, Metro UK wanted to know who Saweetie’s dream collaboration would be. Without hesitation, she named the “Rude Boy” star. “I definitely want to work with Rihanna. [The Super Bowl] wasn’t even a game, it was the Rihanna concert.” So, what kind of song would it be? “[We would] release a dance record to get the party going.”

We’ll have to wait and see if Rihanna is down to connect, but her hands are full these days. Meanwhile, it has been an arduous journey for Saweetie to get her debut to streaming services. It was reportedly supposed to arrive in 2021, but that year, Saweetie revealed she was locked in boot camp. The rapper was working on her craft, and later, a conversation with Cher would push her release date back even further.

Advice From Cher

“I thought [the album] was done, but after I met her, I had an epiphany,” Saweetie said in 2021. “This album needs to have feelings, it needs to have soul, it needs to have spirit. And I have a lot of room for improvement, so I’m gonna work on that. And once it’s done, the album will be released.”

Lil Nas X Bids The LGBTQ Community Farewell After Finding Out He’s Saweetie’s Celebrity Crush

Lil Nas X may have spent the last several days (actually, years) defending his sexuality but it turns out all it took for him to reverse course was a co-sign from the right artist. Of course, he was joking when he said goodbye to his queer icon status after learning he’s Saweetie‘s celebrity crush… but we’d understand if he wasn’t, to be honest.

Last week, after a Twitter user trolled Nas, writing, “I feel like he’s not really gay or not really that feminine it’s so forced,” Saweetie got into some hot water with fans over liking the tweet by mistake. After realizing her error and removing the like, she explained, “He was lookin fine af that’s why I liked the video. I didn’t see the shadiness …*unlikes*”

However, Nas, a Twitter veteran and a pro at handling awkward situations, showed there were no hard feelings by quote tweeting a fan account’s post of a video featuring Saweetie talking about her crush on him on E! News. During the interview, Saweetie admits, “My celebrity guy crush is Lil Nas. He is so fine. He looks better than me!” She also cracked wise about wanting to know his skincare regimen.

In response, Nas wrote, “Goodbye LGBT community,

lil nas x lgbt

we had a great run.”

Given that as recently as last year, fans were getting romantically connecting Saweetie to practically every eligible male rapper out, this one was out of left field. But it’s nice to know Nas and Saweetie have mutual respect for each other — maybe that can lead to some music (please?).

Saweetie Blames Her Zodiac Sign For Her Album Delay: ‘I’m A Cancer, So I Like To Overthink’

Saweetie‘s debut album Pretty B*tch Music has been anticipated for years.

“When you get signed, the label wants a hit,” she explained in a February 2022 interview. “They want a return on their investment, which I understand. But it’s important for artists to understand themselves before they start seeking for hits.” She offered an estimated release date of the summer of that year, which obviously didn’t happen.

In a new interview with E! News, the rapper shared another update on the LP. “I feel like a debut album is not something you just put out,” she said. “It’s not something you play with. I’m a Cancer, so I like to overthink sometimes, but I think you have to be really careful with that, and I take my art really serious.”

“I’ve been through a lot of interesting experiences,” she added. “So, I wanna put that all into my album in the most artistic and organic way.”

In June of last year, she shared more on her Instagram Story about the process. “These past couple of years have been a growing experience for me as an artist, human, but most importantly, a woman,” she wrote. “I have realized my purpose with the platform God has given me, which is why I have taken my time with releasing music this time around. Through hours of self-reflection, I have realized that Pretty B.*.T.C.H. music is not an album — it’s a movement. It’s a culture. It’s a language. It’s a lifestyle. We not rushing art. We taking our time! This ain’t no microwave sh*t! It’s baking & it will definitely be worth the taste.”
