Frankly, SZA sighting are a rarity. Outside of the “Saturn” singer’s sporadic posts on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), she does a stellar job at living life offline.

So, SZA’s upcoming appearance on Hot Ones will surely be something fans will caress. But before the episode premieres on First We Feast’s YouTube channell (currently scheduled for Thursday, September 26), SZA has already got users online buzzing. In the promotional poster (viewable here), SZA is seen sporting full-on alien-like face prosthetics. The look appears to be a hint back to the look she previously teased online which could be a hint about her highly anticipated album, Lana.

“Fun times at the pain farm ❤,” wrote SZA in the Instagram comments.

However, fans are exactly fond of the get-up. Users online took to their pages to voiced their .

“Solana don’t piss me off,” wrote one user.

“Oh she’s about to piss me off,” echoed another.

“Girl that’s SZANT,” chimed another.

“That’s a bug where’s SZA,” jokingly asked one user.

Others speculated that this could indeed be a clue about SZA’s highly anticipated follow-up to her record-breaking sophomore project, SOS.

“The ‘LANA’ tease,” wrote one user.

“AND THE ROLLOUT BEGINS,” added another.

After experiencing premature leaks, SZA threatened to scrap the project. But ultimately, she announced that she would release the leaks as the SOS Deluxe and her new tracks on Lana.

Over a year after its release, SZA’s sophomore album, SOS, still has the music charts in a chokehold. On February 4, it even took home multiple awards at the 2024 Grammys, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Ghost in the Machine” featuring Phoebe Bridgers, Best R&B Song for “Snooze,” and Best Progressive R&B Album.

But SZA is ready to kick off a new era of music by way of her forthcoming Lana.

When Does SZA’s ‘Lana’ Deluxe Album Come Out?

According to fan-circulated rumors across X (formerly Twitter), Lana will hit streaming platforms on February 9. However, the reports are too good to be true. After several posts and deletes from fan pages, SZA has denied the claims.

In a message exchange with a fan, SZA laughed off the rumors. “I just liked the photo,” she wrote. “LMAO, it’s not coming out on 2/9. I’m sorry, lmao. I like jerseys.”

The photograph in question was uploaded by a fan who attended a private event curated by SZA, apparently during pre-Grammys festivities this year. Attendees believed the numbers on the two models’ wardrobes were a subtle confirmation.

Still, SZA, her manager Terrence ‘Punch’ Henderson, nor her record label Top Dawg Entertainment have confirmed the release date for Lana. In fact, they might’ve suggested that delays could be on the horizon following leaks.

But during the 2024 Grammys broadcast, SZA partnered with Mastercard to preview the song “Saturn,” set to appear on the Lana.

SZA Murders The 2024 Grammy Awards Audience With A Performance Of Her Hit Songs ‘Snooze’ And ‘Kill Bill’

As the most nominated artist of the 2024 Grammy Awards, all eyes are on SZA. Just days before the coveted ceremony, The Recording Academy announced that the “Snooze” singer would take the stage. During her sit down with Apple Music, SZA confessed that she initially got into music to her naysayers wrong.

But after reaching massive success, SZA is well beyond that, and her Grammy performance proved that. After pulling out of the 2023 VMAs, her onstage set during the 2024 Grammys carried that much more weight. SZA knocked it out of the park without skipping a beat, performing her first No. 1 song and hit single “Kill Bill,” along with some of “Snooze.”

In May 2023, SZA shared a touching note after learning of the milestone. “Took me over a week to process ’cause I dreamt of this my entire career,” she said. “It didn’t feel real, lol, and still doesn’t. But I wanna say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. Every person, every fan base, every ear that listened and pushed for me. Can’t believe we have a number 1 record.”

At the 2024 Grammys, SZA is up for nine awards, including Album of the Year (SOS), Song and Record of the Year (“Kill Bill”), Best Progressive R&B Album (SOS), Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Love Language”), Best R&B Song (“Snooze”), Best R&B Performance (“Kill Bill”), Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Low”) and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Ghost in the Machine”).

SZA Is The Latest Performer Announced For The 2024 Grammys Ceremony

Music’s biggest night is nearly here. As the industry’s heavyweights prepare for the 2024 Grammys, fans eagerly await more details about the ceremony. On January 29, the Recording Academy revealed that the evening’s performers list has grown yet again.

Via a post on X (formerly Twitter), it’s been revealed that “Kill Bill” singer SZA will perform. “You don’t want to snooze and miss this moment!” wrote the organization. “Watch SZA at the 66th Grammys on February 4 at 8 p.m. Eastern / 5 p.m. Pacific on CBS.”

As SZA is the evening’s most nominated act, her participation makes sense. Appearing at the Grammys carries significant meaning for SZA. During an interview with Rolling Stone, her manager and label head, Terrence “Punch” Henderson, reportedly pulled her scheduled performance at the 2023 MTV VMAs over feeling underappreciated.

Over the weekend, the news was shared that Joni Mitchell would make her Grammy performance debut at this year’s ceremony. Other musicians set to take the stage at the 2024 Grammys include Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Travis Scott, Luke Combs, and Burna Boy.

The 2024 Grammys will broadcast live on February 4 via CBS at 8 p.m. Eastern. Find more information here.

SZA Slams People Leaking Her Songs Ahead Of The Singer’s ‘Lana’ Deluxe Album Release

SZA’s year is off to a rough start. Instead of enjoying the lingering effects of her record-breaking accomplishments last year, the “Snooze” singer has been forced to combat leakers.

“Leaking my music is stealing,” wrote SZA. “This is my job. This is my life and my intellectual property. You are a f*cking thief, and I promise to put maximum energy into holding everyone accountable to the full extent of the law. I am tired.”

Unfortunately, SZA is no stranger to having her unreleased work illegally shared with the public. During a sit-down with Variety in November, she discussed the devastating effects of leaking an artist’s music.

“When people leak my songs, they ruin them,” she said. “Then it’s not mine anymore; it’s actually yours. It’s something unfinished that you decided was ready to be shared. And it’s like, ‘F*ck you. Now I’m not releasing it.’ Play your leak, but you’re not gonna bully me into dropping music. I’m now embarrassed by this less-than-correct version that you put out. You’ve sent me into a weird space creatively when you could have just waited for me, but you’re selfish.”

SZA has officially had enough, and her post on X was her way of putting those individuals on notice.

When Will SZA’s ‘SOS’ Deluxe ‘Lana’ Come Out?

It’s been nearly a year since SZA shared her highly anticipated sophomore album, SOS. Since then, the project has dominated the music charts and helped her sweep the awards season, including at the 2023 Billboard and Soul Train Awards. SOS is also predicted to sweep the 2024 Grammy Awards as SZA is the most nominated act of the year. Now that she’s wrapped up her record-setting supporting tour, fans are begging for the album’s deluxe version.

So when will SOS Deluxe album Lana come out? According to SZA’s recent activity on X (formerly Twitter), it will be soon. In a screenshot by Pop Crave, as one fan hypothesized that the project would be released along with a lead single and video in December, SZA seemed to subtly agree by liking the post.

On September 8, SZA revealed details about the album during a private show. “So, the deluxe is like a whole ‘nother album. It’s called ‘Lana.’ It’s seven to ten songs, and it’ll be out this fall,” she said in a video captured by an attendee.

Last month, SZA hinted that the project would get its own intimate mini-tour in the cities that showed the most support during her initial North American stops.

Did SZA Say She’s Had Face Surgery In Her Career?

The SOS Tour has Grammy Award-winning musician SZA outside more often than usual, and for her, clothing is optional. From her SKIMS campaign, twerk clips shared on social media, and cinematic music videos, SZA proudly embraces her curves in every way. The songwriter’s self-confidence has come a long way since her bouts of bullying in her teen years.

On her chart-topping sophomore album SOS, SZA opened up about falling in love with her body and undergoing a cosmetic procedure (Brazilian butt lift, or “BBL”) to enhance her frame. But did SZA say she’s had face surgery in her career? Yesterday (October 30), during an interview with Hunter Harris for Wall Street Journal, the “Snooze” singer denied the growing online rumor.

“That sh*t is low-key offensive,” she said. “Not low-key, it’s high-key offensive. But what am I supposed to do? Post a debunking thread? That’s crazy. You would rather believe the TikTok thread. You would rather believe any Twitter thread; you could just Google yourself and figure it out. There were clear instances when I talked about my freckles.”

She continued, “I hear crazy sh*t about myself. I heard I had a facelift, I heard I had a nose job, I heard my teeth were fake. Now, do I need to go out and get a nose job because you all made me feel like I need one?”

Based on her response, it seems SZA wants to put the claims to bed for good.

SZA Hinted At An ‘Intimate Mini Tour’ For Her ‘SOS’ Deluxe Album ‘Lana,’ But With One Special Stipulation

SZA’s time on the road could bleed into 2024. Although the “Kill Bill” singer only has a few dates left on the second North American leg of the SOS Tour, fans could have the opportunity to catch her live quite soon after it concludes. SZA hinted at a miniature tour run while sharing Lana, the modified deluxe version of her SOS album.

On Saturday, October 7, in a post uploaded to her official X (formerly Twitter) page, SZA proposed that idea to fans. “[I] was thinking I wanna do an intimate mini tour for [the] deluxe [album],” she wrote. “But ONLY in the most turnt cities from the ‘SOS Tour.’ I made a list. Y’all deserve a reward. I’m so grateful 🙏🏾❤.”

Followers who had attended one of her previous concert stops chimed in to advocate for their respective cities.

“Atlanta better be on it, niece,” wrote one.

SZA quickly replied, “U already know.”

If SZA does follow through with the smaller tour run, she wouldn’t be the first artist to pull it off. Earlier this year, Ed Sheeran simultaneously embarked on two distinctively different live show runs, the more significant production Mathematics Tour and the stripped-back Subtract Tour.

SZA Revealed That ‘SOS Deluxe’ Is Getting A Newly Revamped Title And So Much More Because To Her: ‘It’s A Whole ‘Nother Album’

At this point, it is hard to tell whether people were more excited for SZA’s sophomore album, SOS, or the corresponding deluxe edition. After releasing her steamy video for the breakout single “Snooze,” starring Justin Bieber, Benny Blanco, Woody McClain, And Young Mazino, fans were on high alert.

But after months of rumors, SZA has finally shared more details about the forthcoming release. On Friday, September 8, during her SOS Album Celebration show at The Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York, she treated concertgoers to vital information about SOS Deluxe.

In a video captured by a fan, SZA says, “So, the deluxe is like a whole nother album. It’s called ‘Lana.’ It’s seven to ten songs, and it’ll be out this fall.” The album’s title is an abbreviation of her SZA’s first name, Solána. This Easter egg is a common occurrence in SZA’s work, especially in her shows and music videos.

In May, SZA took to her official X (formerly Twitter) profile to shut down claims from people sharing an unverified tracklist and release date for the album. Although nothing about her superstar career has been routine, reimagining the beloved album is bold considering the massive success generated from tracks such as “Kill Bill” and more.

SZA Adds D4vd As Her ‘SOS Tour’ Second North American Leg’s Featured Special Guest, Which Is Slated To Start Soon

The 2023 Made In America Festival, set to be co-headlined by SZA, has been officially cancelled. Luckily, there are other ways to see her live. The second leg of her SOS Tour‘s North American run is slated to kick off next month. Ahead of its launch day on September 20 in Miami, Florida, SZA has added the extension’s featured special guest.

Houston, Texas’ hottest rising alternative singer D4vd will be stepping into the role previously held by Omar Apollo. D4vd took to Instagram to share the news. Uploaded the new flyer for the tour, D4vd thanked SZA for the opportunity, writing, “[I’m] trying not to panic. SZA, thank you for having me on tour. I can not believe my eyes right now. This is going to be insane 😭.”
