Future Supports Gunna In Tweet But Then Deletes It, Disses “Rats” In Snippet

Future and Gunna used to be pretty frequent collaborators, but just like with every other MC in the mainstream game, that relationship soured following the latter’s plea deal in the YSL RICO case, bringing about accusations of snitching. However, it seems like he’s starting to re-enter the rap world and its higher echelons following a highly successful 2023. Moreover, Wunna released his new single “Prada Dem” this week, which is a collaboration with Offset. Turns out that this might be more of a contentious, consequential, and possibly door-opening collab than what we originally thought.

Furthermore, Future actually co-signed Gunna’s new song, taking to Twitter earlier this week to promote “Prada Dem” (interestingly, he only tagged Offset). Yet shortly after, he deleted this message from his social media, leading many differing fanbases and opinions to either lament, celebrate, or criticize this move. It’s a tad ironic that this is still a prevailing narrative because the Drip Season rapper actually denies claims of being a rat on this new single. “I set the trend, I’m a trendsetter/ I’m not a rat, still getting cheddar,” he raps on the cut, something that his “pushin p” collaborator might not agree with.

Future Tweets & Deletes Support For Gunna

Not only is this assessment due to this tweet and delete, but it’s also due to a recent snippet that Future posted titled “Type S**t.” It’s rumored to be a collab with Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti that might land on Metro Pluto’s upcoming two albums or on Carti’s new material. That part is a bit unclear because of how everyone involved has teased the song, as well as the producer’s earlier claim that his Fewtch collab projects (or maybe just one of them) won’t have features. The reason why this is relevant here is due to some bars that people think might target folks like Gunna.

Gunna Denies Snitching Claims On New Offset Collab “Prada Dem”

Gunna just dropped off a new collaborative single with Offset, “Prada Dem,” and it’s probably his most high-profile collab since his RICO arrest back in 2022. That’s because accusations of snitching plagued him ever since his plea deal in this YSL case, resulting in some subliminal beefs and a whole lot of debate. But on this new track, the College Park, Georgia native continues to deny these claims as his career grows and evolves past this phase. “I set the trend, I’m a trendsetter / I’m not a rat, still gettin’ cheddar,” he raps on the cut, which is a pretty solid and satisfying link-up between these two MCs.

What’s more is that the Drip Season spitter will go on tour this year to fully capitalize on his comeback. A lot of fans really loved his 2023 LP a Gift & a Curse, and even though it wasn’t the most critically acclaimed release of that year, it was certainly one of its biggest and most pivotal moments. After all, Gunna competed with Young Thug by dropping their first post-YSL RICO albums a week apart. But as time goes on and the “rat” narrative dies down, assuming that there’s bad blood between them seems more and more like an unlikely reality.

Not only that, but this contentious speculation also applies to other hip-hop peers, namely Lil Baby. He’s been one of the most outspoken and most thinly veiled actors when it comes to dissing Gunna, which is sad considering their previous partnership. In fact, Wunna seemed to take aim at Baby on his recent single “Bittersweet,” and these constant drops indicate that there could be something big on the way. Maybe a Gift & a Curse cleared the air, and now it’s time for him to go full throttle against his detractors.

Still, none of that means anything if the material isn’t good, so we’ll see what else there is to offer. For now, it’s been all hitters, and as the YSL RICO case goes on, we’ll see if the 30-year-old pops up in it more. 2024 might be an even more successful year for him than the last. For the official video, Gunna, Offset, and director Leff grace viewers with an exquisite look at an elegant lifestyle.

To complement the track’s luxury lyrics, the duo embark on an extravagant shopping spree. “I set the trend, I’m a trendsetter / I’m not a rat, still gettin’ cheddar / Audemars wrist, timeless / Certified factory diamonds / I’m the young n**** goin’ diamond / Prince, they call me Your Highness,” raps Gunna.

To take a page out of the Migos’ book, sometimes it’s OK to flex for a second when you are handsome and wealthy. With Offset on the road for his first solo headlining tour and Gunna slated to head back out soon, their grand isn’t in vain, as seen by the price tags they frequently pop.

Overall, Gunna is an artist who had seemingly been blackballed by his peers. In their minds, he was the reason why Young Thug is still in jail. However, the details surrounding the YSL Rico case remain murky. In fact, when Gunna dropped off a gift & a curse, he was able to completely change the narratives around him. Sure, the album had no features, but he did a great job of carrying the work load. It was a project filled with viral hits, and fans loved every bit of it. Well, now, it looks like the Drip Or Drown artist is back for more.

A couple of nights ago, Gunna teased a new song with the likes of Offset. At the time, he didn’t drop a release date or any concrete information. However, last night, he came through and surprised his fans with the track. Below, you can find the music video for “Prada Dem,” which contains a solid guess verse from the former Migo.
