Jan. 6 Committee Votes To Accuse Donald Trump Of 4 Crimes

The Jan. 6 select committee has formally voted to accuse Donald Trump of four crimes. The committee argued that the former President provided “aid and comfort” to the mob attacking the Capitol in 2021.

They also stated that Trump could be charged with obstructing Congress’ Jan. 6 joint session, conspiracy to make false statements to the National Archives, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

“Faith in our system is the foundation of American democracy. If the faith is broken, so is our democracy,” select panel chair Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said. “Donald Trump broke that faith. He lost the 2020 election and knew it, but he chose to try to stay in office through a multi-part scheme. This can never happen again.”

The final meeting went down on the two-year anniversary of Trump’s Dec. 19, 2020 tweet, in which he called for a “wild” protest against the election results. The committee says the post was a key inflection point for the ensuing riot. Later Trump urged his supporters to “fight like hell” to convince lawmakers to vote against certifying Joe Biden’s victory.

Despite the committee’s decision, they have no power to prosecute Trump, as that will come down to the Department of Justice.

“I’m convinced that now that our committee has released our information, they will take the information that we’ve shared with them and proceed with the investigation,” Thompson also said of the DOJ’s decision.

Better Late Than Never: House Votes To Remove Bust of 'Dred Scott' Judge From the Capitol

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation that will remove the bust of Supreme Court Justice Roger Taney from the Capitol and replace it with one of Thurgood Marshall, the first Black person to serve on the Supreme Court.

Taney was the author of the Supreme Court’s infamous 1857 Dred Scott decision. Scott, an enslaved African-American man, brought a lawsuit claiming that his family should be granted their freedom because he had lived in Illinois. The Wisconsin Territory for four years, where slavery was illegal, and the laws in those jurisdictions required slaveholders to give up their rights to slaves if they had stayed in those jurisdictions for a significant period.

In a 7-2 decision written by then-Chief Justice Taney, the Court ruled against Scott, holding that all persons descended from Africans, whether slave or free, were not citizens of the United States because the drafters of the Constitution had never intended for them to be anything but slaves. Taney further held that the Missouri Compromise, in which Congress had prohibited slavery north of the 36’30’ parallel, was unconstitutional because it deprived white citizens of their slave property without due process.

Of course, the Dred Scott decision was eventually superseded by the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which abolished slavery. Taney’s legacy is a judicial decision universally viewed as egregiously wrong on every level.   It also represented a serious miscalculation on Taney’s part. While he thought his ruling would resolve the slavery question by making it a matter of settled law, it only made the situation more heated by strengthening Northern opposition to slavery and emboldening Southern successionist demands, further stoking the fires that led to the Civil War.

In support of the current legislation, Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-MD, said, “[i]n removing Taney’s bust, I’m not asking that we would hold Taney to today’s moral standards. On the contrary, let us hold him to the standard of his contemporaries, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln . . . and all of those who understood that the enslavement of others has always been an immoral act.”

Nancy Pelosi Pushes TikTok Ban on Government Devices for New Funding Bill

a

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is supporting legislation calls to ban TikTok on government devices. Pelosi is backing funding that received unanimous support and is close to being in place next week.

The bill will head to President Biden’s desk for a signature once it is adopted in a Senate version of the government funding bill.

According to The Hill, The Senate unanimously approved Sen. Josh Hawley’s “No TikTok on Government Devices Act” this past Wednesday, prohibiting the downloading or using of the video-sharing app TikTok on “any device issued by the United States or a government corporation” by certain figures in government.

GOP-led states are also pushing for a federal ban on the Chinese-owned social media app.

In response, TikTok’s Brooke Oberwetter states, “politicians with national security concerns should encourage the Administration to conclude its national security review of TikTok.”

“The agreement under review will meaningfully address any security concerns that have been raised at both the federal and state level. These plans have been developed under the oversight of our country’s top national security agencies—plans that we are well underway in implementing—to further secure our platform in the United States, and we will continue to brief lawmakers on them.”

Trump Calls Brittney Griner Release “Unpatriotic” & “Stupid”

As people celebrate Brittney Griner returning home, Donald Trump isn’t a happy camper. The former president previously made his lack of support for Griner’s case clear, but now that she’s been released from a Russian prison, he is issuing new statements. Griner was arrested earlier this year after being found with a small amount of cannabis oil while traveling through a Russian airport. The case gained international attention as Griner went to trial. When she was sentenced to nine years in prison, her supporters championed causes centering on her release.

“What kind of a deal is it to swap Brittney Griner, a basketball player who openly hates our Country, for the man known as ‘The Merchant of Death,’ who is one of the biggest arms dealers anywhere in the World, and responsible for tens of thousands of deaths and horrific injuries,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He also stated: “Why wasn’t former Marine Paul Whelan included in this totally one-sided transaction? He would have been let out for the asking. What a ‘stupid’ and unpatriotic embarrassment for the USA!!!”

The former president’s MAGA supporters have also co-signed his take on social media. Meanwhile, his opposers have brought up his controversial moments in politics pertaining to the release of prisoners under his tenure.

“Over the last nine months, you all have been so privy to one of the darkest moments of my life,” said Cherelle. “And so today I am just standing here overwhelmed with emotions, but the most important emotion that I have right now is just sincere gratitude for President Biden and his entire administration. He just mentioned this work is not easy and it has not been.”

Alex Jones Slams Kanye West’s “Hitler Fetish”

Alex Jones called out Kanye West and Nick Fuentes for having a “Hitler fetish” after the two appeared on his show, last week. Jones reflected on the interview while speaking with right-wing YouTuber Steven Crowder on Tuesday.

“There is this Hitler fetish. And no, I’m not into dudes in fancy peacock military uniforms that, by the way, got 22 million Germans killed,” Jones said. “Hitler was horrible, screw Hitler, burn in hell Hitler.”

Speaking of Kanye in particular, Jones remarked, “I don’t think he’s mentally ill — I think he’s enjoying himself.“

Jones also labeled Fuentes “baby Hitler” and a “Nazi lover.”

Of the entire interview, Jones says, “I can’t bring myself to watch it again — I can’t stand to watch it.”

Fuentes responded to the criticism by labeling Jones “controlled opposition” on Telegram afterward.

“MTG and Alex Jones both threw me under the bus to appease Jewish groups,” he wrote. “I don’t take it personally but people need to be aware that they are the definition of controlled opposition.”

Speaking on Jones’ InfoWars show, Kanye West had admitted to liking Hitler.

“The Jewish media has made us feel like the Nazis and Hitler have never offered anything of value to the world,” Ye said at one point. “I see good things about Hitler, also.”

After the interview, West posted a picture of a swastika on Twitter. Elon Musk banned him from the platform in response.

Why Did Milo Yiannopoulos Really Leave Ye’s Campaign?

As Ye’s most recent scandal continues to unravel, questions are being raised about the people he’s chosen to be a part of his circle. On the heels of an expected 2024 run for President, he has recently been spotted with some questionable company.

The disgraced rapper has surprisingly continued to make press runs with Nick Fuentes, a documented white supremacist. On top of being a live streamer, he is also a political commentator.

British far-right political pundit Milo Yiannopoulos prepares to host the ‘Bishops Enough Is Enough’ rally at the MECU Pavilion November 16, 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland. Organized to coincide and run counter to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops at the nearby Marriott Baltimore Waterfront, the conservative prayer meeting and convention was organized by the far-right Catholic news outlet Saint Michael’s Media, also known as Church Militant. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

This is why he’s been around Ye lately – to assist in the Chicago native’s anti-Semitic-driven campaign. Subsequently, it’s no surprise that many of his recent comments, including telling Jewish people to forgive Hitler, are backed by Fuentes.

Milo Yiannopoulos Backs Out

British alt-right political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos was another member of the 45-year-old’s campaign. Although his presence didn’t last long. He was fired from the campaign on Sunday (December 4).

Daily Beast reporter Will Sommer believes the only person really winning from all of these antics is Fuentes. According to his sources, Yiannopoulos could have left the campaign out of fear that Fuentes is gaining too much influence over Ye.

The white supremacist is “so vocally antisemitic in a way that some of these other figures are not,” says Sommer. “He’s absolutely thrilled by this whole thing.”

On Tuesday (December 6), it was reported that Yiannopoulos charged $116,000 to the father of four’s team via an invoice. Overall, he believes he’s owed the money for his service working as an advisor and campaign consultor.

However, according to TMZ, they never actually had a financial agreement in place.

Sommer was the first to break the news of the split. “Milo Yiannopoulos has been fired from the Ye / Kanye entourage after a series of disastrous media appearances that saw the candidate praising Hitler,” he stated.

Ultimately, it’s scary to hear about the harmful influences that Ye is choosing to surround himself with. Do you think Yiannopoulos was right in removing himself from the campaign when he did? Comment below.

Alex Jones Unpacks Kanye West Interview, describing a “homoerotic Hitler obsession”

Alex Jones Discusses Kanye West Interview on Steven Crowders show

You know 2022 was a bizarre year when Alex Jones starts to call other people crazy, especially a formerly beloved hip-hop icon. However, he did just that, going on Steven Crowder’s YouTube show to discuss the fallout and his reactions from his interview with Kanye West from last week.

After showing some clips of the interview to provide for context, Crowder asks Jones if in “his wildest dreams” that he expected Kanye to make some of the outlandish statements that he did. Jones said that he did not, continuing that he didn’t give Kanye limits as to what he could talk about, but asked that he talk about “real issues,” to which Kanye didn’t obviously adhere,

Jones called Ye’s mask “creepy,” before stating that he didn’t believe that West understood World War II history, saying that Ye didn’t have “a fifth grade education about the Nazis.”

He called Nick Fuentes “baby Hitler,” saying that Fuentes and other supporters had a “homoerotic Hitler obsession,” claiming “it’s like some homoerotic, you know, thing over Hitler. That is, kinda, what’s going on. There’s this Hitler fetish”

Jones went on to say that Hitler was a pedophile, amongst other things, stating: “Hitler was horrible, screw Hitler, burn in hell Hitler.”

Later in the interview, Crowder’s co-host interjected to say that as a Christian, he was raised to “love the sinner, hate the sin,” but Ye (who claimed many times in the original interview with Jones that he was a devout Christian), failed to condemn any of Hitler’s sins in the hours-long interview.

While Jones said that he lost respect for Fuentes, he did describe Ye as more or less confused, saying that he wanted to meet with Kanye again to educate him on the atrocities of Hitler and the Nazi party during World War II.

Reporter Falsely Claims Van Jones Apologized For Black Community’s Reaction To Ye

People of all backgrounds have come to defend the Jewish community against Kanye West’s antics, but Van Jones was accused of saying Black people weren’t doing enough. West has been on a controversial press run as he openly praises Adolf Hitler and Nazis. The rapper claims Jewish people need to forgive the genocidal dictator as Ye travels with white supremacist Nick Fuentes.

The internet reacted swiftly, with several Black leaders, influencers, and entertainers standing in solidarity with the Jewish community. They have denounced Ye’s rhetoric and deemed it inexcusable, but political reporter Jacob Kornbluh tweeted Van Jones suggested they have been “silent.”

While giving a speech at the United Jewish Appeal Federation of New York event this week, it was reported that Jones apologized “for the silence of my community.” He allegedly said his “community” somehow permitted “an African American icon praising Hitler and Nazis” while acting “like we don’t know where that hatred came from.”

He was also reported as saying the “silence is over.” Adding, “You’re going to see a change going forward.”

After the news of Jones’s speech made its way to social media, people had questions for the political commentator. Some took issue with Jones suggesting that the Black community hasn’t abhorred West’s anti-Semitism. Others weren’t happy with him apologizing for Black people as a whole when it was Ye who offended the masses. Elsewhere, some people believed this created more division than unification. However, all was not how it seemed.

Kornbluh later returned to Twitter to clarify a few things. He stated that Jones didn’t apologize on behalf of the Black community as first said. “To the contrary: he stressed that many in his community are speaking out forcefully,” political reporter Kornbluh wrote. “In speech, he said he was sorry that he + others didn’t do more before Kanye. Apologies for any confusion.”

After the follow-up, people were angered that such a mistake was shared publicly to create a viral moment. Check out a few reactions below.

Van Jones Apologizes To Jewish Community For Ye’s Anti-Semitism

Van Jones is speaking up against Ye’s recent antics and anti-semitic comments. The political commentator has publicly apologized to Jewish people on behalf of the Black community.

Jones opened up about his thoughts on the hateful language being used by Ye, “an African American icon.” The comments were made during his appearance as a keynote speaker at the United Jewish Appeal Federation of New York.

Van Jones Makes His Apology

“You’re going to see a change going forward,” Jones promised to the crowd after apologizing “for the silence of my community.”

The CNN host ultimately called for unison. “The reason this country is a democracy at all is because Black and Jewish people have loved each other, and helped each other, and supported each other, and stood up for each other,” he continued.

Twitter Reacts

The comments have surprisingly caused some division on social media. Some Twitter users have chimed in to express their disapproval of the author’s comments. The majority of these users seem to disagree with Jones’ implication that black people have been otherwise silent on the topic.

“Van Jones really stood up there and blamed the whole black community for Kanye,” another user tweeted.

In the meantime, Ye has continued to dangerously defend Nazis. Rather than apologizing for his dangerous comments, he has decided to double down. In his latest interview with Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes, the disgraced rapper continued to praise Hitler. “Jewish people can’t tell me who I can love and who I can’t love,” he spewed.

The Chicago native continues to be banned from social media platforms like Twitter for his unpredictable and hurtful behavior. As a result, mainstream platforms are being careful as to not allow this hate speech to continue on their outlets. The interview aired on Censored.TV, an alt-right streaming platform. White supremacist Nick Fuentes, who has been spotted out with Ye a lot lately, appeared beside him for the interview.
