ScHoolboy Q Details Getting To Play His New Album For Jay-Z

Earlier this month, ScHoolboy Q released his new album Blue Lips. The project was his first in 5 years and came on the heels of an album that took a bit of a beating from both critics and fans. Thankfully, those same critics and fans seem to like Blue Lips quite a bit more and the response to the record has been pretty positive. One of the indicators ahead of the album’s release that it could be pretty good was a cosign from Jay-Z. Q made an Instagram post revealing that he got to play the album for Jay before it was released.

In a recent appearance he made on Paul George’s Podcast P show, he opened up on playing his new record for Jay-Z. “He was actually listening and yeah, that was all I needed to know,” Q begins. He goes on to explain that he’s gotten the opportunity to play his albums for other rap legends like Nas and Dr. Dre, but was still honored by the chance to share his music with Jay-Z. “So I got to do it and he was f*cking with it, you know what I’m saying? And giving me the breakdown and the details of it.” Check out the preview of their conversation below.

ScHoolboy Q Talks Playing His Album For Jay-Z

During another recent podcast appearance, ScHoolboy Q called out those rappers that “check in” places. He claims they’re endangering themselves unnecessarily. Q also joked that he’s an adult with a daughter so he can’t just pull up to random places. He also revealed that there was almost an A$AP Rocky feature on the new album. But the pair just couldn’t find the time to put it together.

What do you think of Schoolboy Q’s reaction to getting to play his new album Blue Lips for Jay-Z? Are you surprised he was so specifically excited by the opportunity given all the other legends he’s shared his music with? Let us know in the comment section below.

Vince Staples Has A Unique Plan To “Fix” The NBA

Vince Staples has unveiled his plan to “fix” the NBA. Staples’ plan involves dissolving conferences and the G-League, as well as relocating franchises away from places “nobody wants to go.” However, Staples also had more unorthodox ideas. “You got to start an active beef with [LeBron James] because he be doing a lot. And then Adam Silver got to come on and be like, ‘Ay bro, stop that sh-t, LeBron.’ If he just said that in an interview, like he just held a press conference and said, ‘LeBron, stop that sh-t or we coming for you.’ Add some wrestling to it Yeah man, sit down with Bron and say: ‘Bron, I need a favor, bro, I just need you to like throw a chair, bro. I’m sorry but throw that chair across the court after ya’ll lose, bro, and then just take the jersey off,” Staples told Podcast P.

Furthermore, clarification from Staples appeared to imply that he wanted the beef/wrestling aspect to specifically be between Silver and LeBron. “Adam Silver going to be like, ‘ESPN breaking news.’ He going to be on there with Stephen A. Smith early in the morning, like, ‘Hey Bron, you do that shit again, bro, it’s me and you,’” he added.

Stephen A. Smith Upset Over Demarcus Cousins Treatment

Stephen A. Smith is someone who is always entertaining whenever he gives his opinion on the latest big story. Overall, he is someone who has built a huge platform over at ESPN. Without him, the entire station would be in a much worse state than it is now. They owe him a lot of their success, and it’s cool to see Smith getting respect outside of the network. For instance, he recently got to speak to Paul George on his Podcast P show. It was here where they spoke on a plethora of NBA-related topics.

One such topic had to do with none other than Demarcus Cousins. As you may already know, Cousins is currently playing basketball in Puerto Rico. Overall, he has struggled to get a job in the NBA. Despite being an amazing player just a few years ago, he is out of the league. In Smith’s eyes, this is a great injustice. In the clip below, you can see the ESPN analyst delivering some great words of encouragement to Cousins.

You’ve got people looking at me and he’s not a fit I’m like shut the hell up, DeMarcus Cousins right now would be a Top 5 big man in basketball, period.” While calling him top five might be a bit too much, this is still a great sentiment. Paul George Blasts Devin Booker’s Clapback Amid Podcast Comment Beef

Paul George and Devin Booker have been beefing for a few years now. The origin of their beef appears to be a 2021 incident in which, during an on-court scuffle, Booker called George “soft.” The two players, who face each other multiple times a year in the Western Conference, have been at odds ever since. However, that beef boiled over in a recent episode of George’s Podcast P. George asked guest Klay Thompson about the “four rings” taunt he dropped on Booker during a game in 2022.

Thompson said he regretted the taunt. “I was not where I needed to be. Stuff doesn’t age well, and that didn’t age well for me. I don’t need to be flexing four rings, bro. Everybody knows that, that’s on Wikipedia. My game wasn’t where it was at, and we all get insecure at times. I’m man enough to admit we all have our moments of weakness. I’m not really proud of that one.” Later, on Instagram, Booker made two comments, tagging Thompson alongside a salute emoji and tagging George alongside the comment “Is that the answer u was lookin for?”

George Responds To Booker

It didn’t take George long to issue a response of his own. While steaming on Twitch, the Clippers veteran addressed Booker’s Instagram comments. “My thoughts on Booker’s comments?” Paul began. “I mean, he didn’t really say nothing other that what none of us wanted to hear. I don’t really care – it’s Klay’s answer, y’know what I mean? That’s Klay’s answer. I asked a question, Klay gave his response. That’s Klay’s answer. I don’t know what that was supposed to mean. Sorry ass response, bro. I don’t know what that was supposed to mean.”

It’s clear that George wasn’t impressed by Booker’s reply. Furthermore, it appears that George is at best confused as to why Booker felt the need to insert himself into the conversation where there was no real beef to be had. At the time of writing, Booker has not responded to George’s clapback. Schedules for the 2023-24 season aren’t out yet, meaning we don’t know how early George and Booker will meet on the court. However, there is the potential for some confrontation if they are going to trade blows throughout this offseason.
