NBA Youngboy Poses With Massive Plaque Celebrating His Platinum And Gold Records

NBA Youngboy has achieved some incredible commercial success that even many artists well beyond his years haven’t reached. That comes from his combination of extremely prolific releases and his devoted fanbase. He’s released more than 30 individual projects which contain dozens and dozens of singles between them and fans have eaten up nearly all of it. That’s part of the reason he was able to achieve a particularly impressive certification achievement very quickly.

A new photo is making the rounds online of Youngboy posing with an absolutely massive plaque celebrating a rare musical achievement. As the plaque itself reads, he reached 100 total Platinum and Gold certifications. Additionally, the piece is decorated with tiny gold records and the artwork for all of the albums and singles that helped him reach the achievement. The NBA Youngboy Daily fan page also reports that he is the youngest artist to ever be awarded one of the 100 certification plaques. Unsurprisingly, the comments section is full of fans with divided takes on the accomplishment. Check out the photo of Youngboy with his new plaque below.

NBA Youngboy Hits 100 Platinum And Gold Certifications

Some fans in the comments think you have to give Youngboy credit for what he achieved. “Hate him or love him that’s impressive” one comment on the post reads. Others thing that his actual popularity might be inflated. “Ive never met one youngboy fan in real life” and “Bro..its 2024. Who’s still listening to this dude?” two other comments read.

After dropping four new projects last year, NBA Youngboy didn’t waste much time dropping material in 2024. Last week he dropped his first new album of the year Compliments Of Gravedigger Mountain. His prolific streak may continue if he’s forced to stay under house arrest in Utah for even longer than previously throught. What do you think of NBA Youngboy reaching 100 platinum and gold certifications? Do you think he’s actually as popular among rap fans as he seems? Let us know in the comment section below.

Lil Durk Celebrates “All My Life” Going Platinum

Lil Durk burst onto the scene a few years ago, shaking rap up with his unique style and early collaborative efforts. Once he got a verse on a Drake song, 2020’s “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” it’s been off to the races with the young rapper. Now, he’s sitting pretty with a Certified Platinum record for “All My Life,” a song from his 2023 album Almost Healed. This is Lil Durk’s first Platinum song as the featured artist. A collaboration with the one and only J. Cole, “All My Life” just topped a million total units sold in the United States.

“I send my love out to all my fans for keeping me motivated and hungry and not lazy and comfortable,” Lil Durk says on his Instagram. Adorning the post is a pic of him and J. Cole with a crowd of people, an ice cream truck in the background. Almost Healed has a 21-song tracklist that serves up some of Durk’s best songs yet, such as “War Bout It (feat. 21 Savage,” “Cross the Globe (feat. Juice World,” and “Stand By Me (feat. Morgan Whalen).” The Morgan Whalen collab showcases a mash-up of country and rap, an effective method.

The Legacy Of Lil Durk

Fans have been overwhelmingly positive about Almost Healed, as well as the rapper’s recent embracing of his Muslim heritage. Durk is becoming more spiritual (at least in the public eye), and perhaps this will reflect in his music. With a Platinum song under his belt, Lil Durk is looking to continue running the rap game with maximum impact. He isn’t afraid to make waves and be who he truly is. So whenever his next album drops, fans know it will be even more “Durk.”

In other Lil Durk news, he was seen on Morgan Whalen’s tour stop in Chicago, which is Durk’s hometown. He is having a fun time with the amazing success that’s been years in the making. And best believe this is the first of many Platinum certifications for the rapper’s music.

Playboi Carti Goes Platinum With “ILoveUIHateU”

Playboi Carti’s 2020 song “ILoveUIHateU” has gone platinum, with over 1 million plays. Big congratulations to him for a job well done. While this is not the first time that one of his songs has gone platinum, it is still a massive feat. In order for something of this magnitude, multiple things had to come together to make it happen. Because of the unfortunate timing of the song’s release, it had to be remembered by the time that Covid restrictions were lifted. In addition, it also had to be good enough that people would want to listen to it multiple times. Playboi Carti was able to do this by making it part of a theme that was relevant for the time, and by making a great song with multiple ways to interpret it.

“ILoveUIHateU” was released as a part of Playboi Carti’s second album, Whole Lotta Red. The album was released on December 25, 2020, to generally positive reviews. The album is currently gold, thanks to some of the great hits, such as “ILoveUIHateU” and “Vamp Anthem”. It also helped since it produced the sounds that his music will have going forward. Whole Lotta Red has a vampire theme going on in it. As such, all of the songs relate back to that in one way or another. “ILoveUIHateU” for example, was about a vampire feeding off of a woman until he killed her.

Playboi Carti Breaks New Ground

Part of the reason why this song became so popular is that it has a double entendre meaning behind it for Playboi Carti’s addiction to various drugs and how they are ruining his life, but he needs them in order to function. It doesn’t hurt that Pi’erre Bourne had created a great backing to the rap. While the song dealt with the dark subject matter, it pretended to be a normal party song, which allowed people to see it as the jam it is and to continue playing it at parties over the years. There is also some slight overlap with the goths that listened to the album because of vampires.

The RIAA had declared that “ILoveUIHateU” had sold over 1 million units. That is an impressive feat. The last time that he got anything platinum was in 2020, with his debut mixtape, Playboi Carti. Hopefully, more of his stuff will be able to turn platinum, such as the upcoming album, Music.
