Paul George Blasts Devin Booker’s Clapback Amid Podcast Comment Beef

Paul George and Devin Booker have been beefing for a few years now. The origin of their beef appears to be a 2021 incident in which, during an on-court scuffle, Booker called George “soft.” The two players, who face each other multiple times a year in the Western Conference, have been at odds ever since. However, that beef boiled over in a recent episode of George’s Podcast P. George asked guest Klay Thompson about the “four rings” taunt he dropped on Booker during a game in 2022.

Thompson said he regretted the taunt. “I was not where I needed to be. Stuff doesn’t age well, and that didn’t age well for me. I don’t need to be flexing four rings, bro. Everybody knows that, that’s on Wikipedia. My game wasn’t where it was at, and we all get insecure at times. I’m man enough to admit we all have our moments of weakness. I’m not really proud of that one.” Later, on Instagram, Booker made two comments, tagging Thompson alongside a salute emoji and tagging George alongside the comment “Is that the answer u was lookin for?”

George Responds To Booker

It didn’t take George long to issue a response of his own. While steaming on Twitch, the Clippers veteran addressed Booker’s Instagram comments. “My thoughts on Booker’s comments?” Paul began. “I mean, he didn’t really say nothing other that what none of us wanted to hear. I don’t really care – it’s Klay’s answer, y’know what I mean? That’s Klay’s answer. I asked a question, Klay gave his response. That’s Klay’s answer. I don’t know what that was supposed to mean. Sorry ass response, bro. I don’t know what that was supposed to mean.”

It’s clear that George wasn’t impressed by Booker’s reply. Furthermore, it appears that George is at best confused as to why Booker felt the need to insert himself into the conversation where there was no real beef to be had. At the time of writing, Booker has not responded to George’s clapback. Schedules for the 2023-24 season aren’t out yet, meaning we don’t know how early George and Booker will meet on the court. However, there is the potential for some confrontation if they are going to trade blows throughout this offseason.

Klay Thompson Speaks On The Pain Of The 2016 NBA Finals

Klay Thompson has been an essential part of the Golden State Warriors dynasty. Although he missed two years with injuries, his presence was felt as soon as he returned. The team won the NBA title in 2022, which gave Thompson and company his fourth title. Overall, it was a massive accomplishment that cemented this team as one of the great dynasties of our time. That said, there is still one blip on the Warriors’ resume. Of course, we are talking about the 2016 NBA Finals, where the team gave up a 3-1 series lead and lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Recently, Thompson was a guest on Podcast P with Paul George. During this interview, George asked Klay about what happened in 2016. As you can imagine, Thompson and his teammates are still fairly heartbroken about what happened. However, he noted that it was simply an anomaly and it led to better things for the team. In his eyes, without the incident in 2016, the Warriors would never have gotten Kevin Durant.

Klay Thompson Speaks

“Honestly I thought we were good even going back to Oakland [for Game 7]. I remember being like, we don’t lose at home. The last time we did it took Kyrie and LeBron going for 40 a piece, the first time in Finals history. So I’m like alright anomalies happen…,” Thompson said. […] “Why are you making me do this Paul? This hurts man f**k. But I don’t know if we don’t win we might not get Kevin [Durant] so like it all worked out but that one hurt. I’m not going to admit when it was slipping away, there’s too much pride to do that. It still hurts. You’re welcome city of Cleveland.”

That is certainly one way to look at it. However, despite all of their success in the NBA Finals, fans will never forget how they messed up big time seven years ago. Let us know what you think of Thompson’s take on the fiasco, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the sports world.

[WATCH] Draymond Green is Already Planning Defense on Victor Wembanyama

Fan Removed from Bucks-Warriors Game for Allegedly Threatening Draymond Green

Draymond Green will be able to defend Victor Wembanyama next season in a matchup between the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs. Speaking with Paul George on the Podcast P show, Draymond revealed how he would slow the Spurs’ rookie down.

“You can’t let him get comfortable. You let him get comfortable you lose, because you can’t block his shot,” Green said. “He may not even see your contest. So with a guy like that you gotta do your work early. I‘m crowding him from the time he starts running down the court. When they get the rebound and they start coming I’m crowding because I can’t let him get to a space where he’s comfortable.”

Paul George Trade Appears Unlikely

In the lead-up to the NBA Draft, one of the rumored trades surrounds Clippers veteran Paul George. According to March Stein, the Clippers have been gauging interest in George’s services. The veteran forward has been with the Clippers since 2019 and has a player option year in 2024/25.

“League sources tell The Stein Line that the LA Clippers have left various rival teams with the impression through their Draft Week conversations that they are, at a minimum, attempting to gauge Paul George’s trade value and, to hear some describe it, giving real consideration to the idea of disassembling the Kawhi Leonard/George tandem,” Stein reported.

Furthermore, Stein identified the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets as potential suitors. Both teams are in search of veteran talent. Furthermore, they have been reportedly willing to part with their high draft picks to acquire George. However, these trades, and other potential moves, appear to be in doubt.

Clippers Not Moved By Current Offers

Reportedly, the Clippers have received several offers for George from around the league. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Blazers had an offer featuring the third-overall pick rejected. Meanwhile, Ian Bagley of SNY reported that the Knicks had made contact with LA about George. However, talks did not progress very far.

Furthermore, the Clippers were briefly involved in a failed trade for the Celtics’ Malcolm Brogdon. However, Brogdon’s injury history nixed the deal. While the Clippers could still make a move, it appears that their gauging of George’s value did not yield the results they were hoping for.

As a result, the Knicks will look to run it back with a team anchored by their tandem of George and Kawhi Leonard. Since George and Leonard joined the team in 2019, the team has had minimal success. After reaching the Western Conference Finals in 2021, the team missed the playoffs in 2022 and were eliminated in the first round in 2023.

Zion Williamson Also Unlikely To Be Traded

Another player who has been linked with a move but will likely stay with his current team is Zion Williamson. The young New Orleans Pelicans star, who is currently in the midst of an infidelity scandal, has been linked with a potential move away from New Orleans.

One potential trade partner was the Charlotte Hornets. This would have sent Williamson to Charlotte in exchange for the second-overall pick in the draft. These rumors were based on the idea that the Pelicans were especially keen on the highly-touted prospect Scoot Henderson.

“Zion getting traded before Thursday’s draft is fairly unlikely [according to] multiple league sources” reported The Athletic. “The Pelicans have yet to even include Williamson in any formal offers made to the teams holding top-3 picks, league sources tell The Athletic. There have been varying reports about how much interest Charlotte or Portland would even have in shipping off the No. 2 or No. 3 picks in a potential Williamson trade.”

Skip Bayless Hates On LeBron In Yet Another Unique Way

Skip Bayless is easily one of the most interesting men in the entire sports broadcasting world. Although a lot of people hate him, he is someone who refuses to stop being himself. Overall, you truly have to admire him for that. Moreover, you can’t help but admire how persistent he is when it comes to going after the likes of LeBron James. For years, Skip has tried to diminish the King’s accomplishments. Despite all that he is done, Bayless continues to be a thorn in James’ side.

Recently, NBA prospect Brandon Miller was asked about which NBA players he would consider to be the GOATs of the sport. In his eyes, he felt as though Paul George was the best player ever. He even went so far as to say that George is better than LeBron. Additionally, he spoke about none other than Michael Jordan and how he really isn’t all that impressed by him. Subsequently, this led to a whole lot of discourse on Twitter.

Never Change, Skip Bayless

Of course, Skip Bayless inserted himself into all of this, in the funniest way possible. Above, Bayless used some bizarre logic to explain how Miller was actually making LeBron out to be better than Jordan, which is simply not acceptable. “My issue with Brandon Miller isn’t that he thinks Paul George is better than LeBron,” Skip wrote. “It’s that his statement presumes LeBron is better than Jordan. THAT’S what now makes me wonder about Brandon Miller.” Predictable, but still very funny.

Ultimately, this whole saga of Skip hating on LeBron has been interesting to watch over the years. LeBron has yet to acknowledge Bayless, and he likely never will. However, you can’t help but admit it would be funny if he did. Let us know what you think of Skip’s take, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the sports world. We will always be sure to keep you informed of the biggest stories.

Brandon Miller Picks A Very Surprising Player As His GOAT

Alabama freshman Brandon Miller is expected to hear his name called second or third overall during the 2023 NBA Draft on June 22. The SEC Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All-American will likely go to the Hornets, Blazers, or the team that trades up into one of those spots. However, his landing spot will ultimately be decided by whether teams prefer him or G-League standout Scoot Henderson. Furthermore, both picks are still reportedly up for grabs a little over 24 hours before the draft.

Miller, aside from his involvement in the shooting death of a woman in Tuscaloosa, had a fantastic one-and-done college year. As mentioned, he was showered with awards come season’s end. Additionally, he helped the Alabama Crimson Tide secure their first-ever one-seed in the NCAA tournament. However, the team was upset in the Sweet Sixteen by eventual runners-up San Diego State. He averaged 18.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game during his time with the Crimson Tide.

Miller Names Paul George His GOAT

However, Miller is now making headlines for something a little more bizarre. During his pre-draft press availability on June 21, Miller was asked whether Jordan or LeBron was the GOAT. Furthermore, he was asked if he felt the GOAT debate was “overdone.” Miller’s answer was unique, to say the least. “No, because I actually don’t think LeBron is the GOAT of basketball,” Miller said. “My GOAT of basketball is Paul George. I grew up watching him, so, it was never just LeBron.”

It may be the first time that George, an eight-time all-star, has ever been named the GOAT of basketball. Despite this, it’s clear that Miller took this question more personally, rather than an objective ranking of basketball’s best-ever players. Previously, Miller has said that he admires George because he “takes pride in the defensive side. I steal some of his moves and put my own twist to it.” What do you think about Miller’s take? Let us know in the comments. Follow all the latest NBA Draft news here at HotNewHipHop.

Paul George Trade Rumors Surface

June 18 saw the first blockbuster trade of the NBA offseason take place. Amid rumors that Zion Williamson and Damian Lillard may be on the move, it was the Washington Wizards who fired the first shot. Veteran guard Bradley Beal was traded to the Phoenix Suns for a package of players and picks. However, that trade may have been the first drops of water that break the proverbial dam in the coming weeks.

Paul George has played for the Clippers since 2019. After spending the first 7 years of his career with the Pacers, George had a brief stint in OKC before being traded to LA. George is an eight-time all-star, most recently this year. This season, the Clippers secured the Western Conference fifth-seed but suffered a first-round exit to the Suns. Now, George could be on the move.

Clippers Gauge Paul George Trade Value

Per NBA insider Marc Stein, the Clippers have been investigating what a potential trade for George could net them. “League sources tell The Stein Line that the LA Clippers have left various rival teams with the impression through their Draft Week conversations that they are, at a minimum, attempting to gauge Paul George’s trade value and, to hear some describe it, giving real consideration to the idea of disassembling the Kawhi Leonard/George tandem,” Stein reported in his pay-walled newsletter.

Additionally, Stein reports that two teams with high draft picks have been “identified as potential trade partners.” First, there is the Portland Trail Blazers. Holding the #3 pick in this week’s draft, the Blazers have made it no secret that they are willing to trade their pick away to build an immediate contender around Damian Lillard. Also in the mix is the Houston Rockets, who hold the #4 pick. The Rockets are eager to find a veteran leader for their young rebuild. However, they have also been heavily linked to a possible reunion with James Harden. With Geroge on a player option at the end of the season and the draft just days away, expect these rumors to heat up quickly. Follow all the latest NBA trade rumors here at HotNewHipHop.

DeMar DeRozan Remains Haunted By LeBron James

DeMar DeRozan was one of the greatest players in the history of the Toronto Raptors. Although he never won a title with them, he was beloved. Overall, he wanted to be with the franchise until he retired. However, things did not work out that way as he was traded to the San Antonio Spurs. Of course, this is the deal that brought Kawhi Leonard to the Raptors. Subsequently, the Raptors went off and won their very first title. It was a huge blow to DeRozan, although he doesn’t feel as bad about it now.

When DeMar DeRozan played for the Raptors, he was constantly getting beaten by LeBron James. In 2018, the Raptors got swept by James and the Cavaliers. It was an awful series for the Raps, and it ultimately led to that trade. Moreover, James made some insane shots, including a floater to end the series in a sweep. It was a dejecting shot, and as DeRozan told Paul George on the latest episode of Podcast P, it is a shot that continues to haunt him. Paul George knows a thing or two about LeBron knocking him out of the playoffs, so at least DeMar had some support.

DeMar DeRozan Knows The Horrors

Neither DeMar DeRozan nor Paul George have ever eliminated LeBron from the playoffs. There were some who felt like George would get to do it as a member of the Clippers. However, these two teams have never so much as met up in the playoffs since Kawhi and PG joined forces. That said, LeBron is on a completely different level. He is in the Western Conference Finals for the second time as a Laker, and he has a chance to win a fifth NBA title.

Doing so, however, will prove to be difficult. He has to face the Denver Nuggets, and from there, the Heat or the Celtics. All of these teams are good and will put up a good fight. Although, LeBron still has that experience that is hard to discount. As for DeRozan, hopefully, James will stop haunting him one day. We’re sure he would appreciate that.

Paul George & DeMar DeRozan Decide If Bronny Is Better Than Some Players In The NBA

Paul George and DeMar DeRozan are two players that have done a lot in the NBA. Although neither has won an NBA title, they are certainly respected by their peers. They are offensive stars and can turn it on at any time. Moreover, they have experience being the number one option on a team. That said, there are certainly allowed to offer commentary on who should or shouldn’t be in the NBA. In fact, George now has his own podcast called Podcast P with Paul George. Recently, DeRozan was a guest on that show.

In this latest episode, the two got to touch on a plethora of topics. However, there was one topic that will certainly make for some viral clips. If you remember, a few weeks ago, LeBron was off the Lobos and decided to tweet an interesting thought. Essentially, James believes his son Bronny is already better than a lot of players in the NBA. LeBron said this after watching a whole slate of NBA games. Consequently, fans offered their own reactions to these comments. Although, there wasn’t a single NBA player who dared touch this topic, until now.

Paul George & DeMar DeRozan Get Honest

In the clip above, you can see Paul George and DeMar DeRozan ponder whether or not LeBron is right. Overall, they don’t actually answer this question directly. However, DeRozan was adamant that there are a lot of bad players in the NBA. For instance, he believes a lot of guys don’t actually care about the game. Furthermore, some are told they are good and then expect playing time, but never get it. With that being paid, both George and DeRozan aren’t outright dismissive of Bronny’s potential. Ultimately, it must be nice for LeBron to hear this.

Next year, Bronny will be taking his talents to USC. Subsequently, in the Spring of 2024, there is this sense that he will declare for the NBA Draft. From there, he will likely get to play with his father. This would be absolutely massive for the NBA. Although, we are still going to have to wait for this to come to fruition. Paul George Reveals His Opinion On Westbrook Returning To LA

Paul George was unavailable for the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2023 NBA Playoffs. The Clippers star suffered an injury in late March that sealed his post-season fate. However, George wasn’t the only Clippers star to miss playoff action. A sprained knee sidelined Kawhi Leonard. However, the injuries were insurmountable, as the team was sent home in the opening round by the Phoenix Suns. In a what could have been scenario for a team that has a lot of talent when at full health.

However, one Clippers star gave everything he had in the series. Russell Westbrook was a late addition to the Los Angeles roster. But quickly earned the trust of his teammates in a trying time. While Westbrook’s future with the franchise is uncertain. Although George is strong in his belief on what the team should do with Westbrook. On a recent episode of George’s podcast sponsored by Wave Sports + Entertainment, the former all-star thinks Westbrook has found a home.

Paul George Wants To See Westbrook Return

Here’s an excerpt of what Geroge had to say about the situation. “He proved that he is a leader. He proved that he’s got a lot left in the tank and for a team like us, the more guys that can be versatile, the better for us. To have a playmaker, have a leader, have a score, just a floor general, a rebounder, he just covers so many holes and wears so many hats. He’s everywhere…He’s just so valuable. We saw what it looks like [and] we know it works. We know it can be successful. We gotta get him back. I want him back.”

Westbrook’s effort and talent have never been questioned. As the former Oklahoma City star has the accolades and hardware to prove it. However, since leaving OKC, Westbrook has yet to find a place to fit in. His tenures with the Rockets and Lakers were forgettable moments. But something about the Clippers could be different. George would love to see his friend return next season. Do you believe the Clippers will side with Paul George and bring Westbrook back? Let us know what you think in the comment section.
