Shannon Sharpe Puts An End To Mahomes Vs. Burrow Debate

Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless have been debating all season long about NFL quarterbacks. Bayless seems to believe that Joe Burrow is the best QB in the league. However, Shannon has been adamant that it is actually Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Yesterday, these two squared off for the second-straight season in the AFC Championship Game. Overall, it was another fantastic game that came down to the wire. In the end, it was the Chiefs who came out victorious, by a score of 23-20.

Shannon Sharpe Reacts

Subsequently, Sharpe and Bayless spoke about the game on Undisputed this morning. As you can imagine, Sharpe felt vindicated after Mahomes scored two touchdowns and added over 300 yards passing. Moreover, he believes the debate is officially over.

“We can put to bed the notion that Joe Burrow is better than Patrick Mahomes, it shouldn’t have been a debate,” Sharpe said. He went on to note that Mahomes had much better stats. Additionally, he thinks that Mahomes has come through with a better resume which includes three Super Bowls in five seasons as a starter.

Skip, however, still believes that Burrow is the better quarterback. He explained how Mahomes got lucky with some bad calls. Furthermore, he felt as if Burrow was on the cusp of winning the match.

“I watched a great game marred by a late bone headed penalty,” Bayless said. “I watched Joe Burrow slightly outplay Patrick Mahomes yet again. He was in position to be 4-0 against Mahomes.”

Regardless, the Chiefs are now on their way to the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles. It will be an amazing matchup with some great storylines.

SOURCE SPORTS: Hobbled Patrick Mahomes Says He Is ‘Ready to Go’ for AFC Title Game

Patrick Mahomes Gets Engaged to Longtime GF Following Super Bowl Ring Ceremony

Don’t worry, Chiefs fans, you’re quarterback is ready to go. Patrick Mahomes addressed the media on Tuesday, ahead of the AFC Championship game, that his Kansas City Chiefs will play against the Cincinnati Bengals. After a divisional matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where Mahomes injured his ankle, there was fear he would not be ready. That fear is eased.

“AFC championship week,” Mahomes said. “Ready to go.”

According to ESPN, Mahomes was a full participant in practice and underwent treatment all week.

“It’s doing good,” he said. “I’ve done a few days of treatment, a few days of rehab. Excited to get on the practice field and kind of test it out and see where I’m at. But it’s feeling good so far.

“I felt better than I thought I was going to be after the game. Moving on it during the game definitely hurt. But after the game, I was able to rest it and kind of ice it up and do different stuff like that. I felt in a little bit better position, and obviously the next morning felt a little bit better, and then I’ve continued to get better throughout the week, so we’ll see how I feel today at practice.”

Last season, the Bengals knocked off the Chiefs in the AFC Title game. Ahead of this matchup, members of the Bengals’ secondary dubbed the Chiefs stadium, Arrowhead Stadium, as Burrowhead. We will see if that name holds up on Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes Hints At Playing Status

Patrick Mahomes gave the Kansas City Chiefs a huge scare on Saturday in the Divisional Round. During the first half, Mahomes went down with a high ankle sprain. With the score fairly close, Chad Henne had to come into the game. Subsequently, the backup QB scored a touchdown before Mahomes came back.

Overall, it was a scary time for Chiefs fans as it felt like their season was over. Mahomes is likely going to win MVP this season, and they need him if they want to beat the Bengals in the AFC Championship game. Unfortunately, he has a high ankle sprain which means his status for Sunday is up in the air.

Patrick Mahomes Speaks

Since Saturday, many have tried to claim that Mahomes will not play against the Bengals. This is because high ankle sprains are almost impossible to come back from that soon. However, many are forgetting that Mahomes has access to some of the best medications in the world.

In fact, Mahomes himself is hinting that he is a lock for Sunday’s game. While taking to Instagram last night, Mahomes posted a video of himself with the caption “see you Sunday, Chiefs Kingdom.” This is great news for the Chiefs who are going to be in the fight of their lives against a hungry Bengals squad.

As many Chiefs fans already know, the Bengals have defeated the Chiefs three times in the last calendar year. Overall, the Chiefs do not play well against Cincinnati, and they need to change that if they want to make an appearance in this year’s Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes Suffered High Ankle Sprain: Report

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes reportedly suffered a high ankle sprain during the team’s divisional-round victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Prior to the update, Mahomes said that he still planned to play in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.

League sources tell ESPN’s Adam Schefter that an MRI confirmed the details of the injury. The test revealed no other damage.

Mahomes suffered the injury to his ankle late in the first quarter after being tackled awkwardly. He stayed in the game to finish the drive, but Chad Henne later replaced him. Mahomes eventually returned in the second half but was noticeably playing hurt.

After the game, Mahomes told reporters: “It feels better than I thought it was going to be now. Obviously, I have a lot of adrenaline going right now, so we’ll see how it feels. But I’ll hop right in the treatment and try to do whatever I can to be as close to 100% by next week. Luckily for us, we played the early game on Saturday, so we get an extra almost half a day that I can let that ankle rest.”

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid added: “Let’s just see how it goes here the next couple days. It’s going to be sore, I know, but let’s see where he is at. He’s had this before, and he was able to keep pushing through.”

The Chiefs will be taking on the Bengals on Sunday, January 29, at 6:30 PM.

Skip Bayless Claims Patrick Mahomes Is Worst Thrower He’s Ever Seen

Skip Bayless is almost cartoonish in the way he hates certain athletes. There is an argument to be made that Bayless sometimes purposely lies about certain guys just so that he can win a debate. The best examples of this are LeBron James and Aaron Rodgers, who Bayless seems to hate with a burning passion.

Another athlete that can be added to this list is Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is one of the best QBs in the entire NFL and he has shown the world just how good he is. Despite that, Mahomes catches quite a bit of flack from Bayless, especially on Thursday as Bayless had a scathing critique of the Chiefs superstar.

While comparing Brady to Mahomes, Bayless tried to say that Mahomes is one of the worst throwers in the history of the NFL. If you know anything about football, you quickly realize how preposterous this statement is.

“Brady was graded No. 1 in the league last year, I guess he just fell off…Mahomes is one of the worst throwers I’ve ever witnessed,” Skip said. “The Chiefs just lost to the Colts, who looked pathetic. It’s Saturday Night Live-ish to me. Patrick Mahomes has the worse footwork aside from Aaron Rodgers.

Mahomes and Brady will play each other on Sunday night, and it is sure to be a good game. Brady has largely struggled this season, while Mahomes has been pretty good, albeit there have been signs of weakness.
