YFN Lucci Could Come Home In Early 2025 According To Record Label’s Parole Update

YFN Lucci just got a promising update in his sentence on RICO charges, according to his label Think It’s A Game Records. They recently took to social media to announce that he received a tentative parole date of January 2025, meaning that he could go home very soon. This follows a previous Los Angeles Times report that posited a similar development. In addition, this comes months after Fulton County’s District Attorney, Fani Willis, issued a letter in support of the Atlanta rapper’s early release from jail to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles back in July. Of course, take this with a grain of salt, as it’s still an early report and doesn’t confirm a surefire freedom date.

After all, YFN Lucci sought this outcome before, and it looks like he might be more successful this time around. For those unaware, law enforcement arrested him back in 2021 over a RICO indictment, and he pleaded guilty to one count of violating Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act in January of 2024. The court sentenced him to ten years in prison and ten years on probation. As for the former, a judge ruled that the time he already served became credit for his prison sentence.

YFN Lucci Gets Crucial Parole Update

“Pursuant to the parties’ negotiated agreement, the State does not object to Defendant, Rayshawn Bennett[‘s release from prison] from Department of Corrections the first time he becomes eligible for parole or after serving one-third of his prison sentence, whichever comes first,” Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis wrote concerning YFN Lucci. “This recommendation by the State [rests] upon the Defendant’s compliance with the lawful authority of all Department of Corrections personnel and [the absence of any] incidents of any kind in any facility [that housed him] while in the custody of the Department of Corrections.”

Meanwhile, this YFN Lucci news arrives after another massive update in another Atlanta hip-hop criminal trial this week. Young Thug took a plea deal in the YSL RICO case, and the judge’s sentence allowed him to leave jail on 15 years of probation. We will see whether a similar fate emerges for Lucci.

Oscar Pistorius Gets Parole After Decade In Prison

Disgraced Olympic and Paralympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius will be released from prison in South Africa on parole in January. Pistorius, a six-time Paralympic gold medalist, has spent the last decade in prison after shooting and killing his girlfriend in their home. According to a Department of Corrections spokesperson, Pistorius will be released on January 5. However, he will not be able to leave the neighborhood of Pretoria he is set to live in, must attend anger management counseling, and perform community service. “Parole does not mean the end of the sentence. It is still part of the sentence. It only means the inmate will complete the sentence outside a correctional facility,” the spokesperson told ESPN.

Pistorius was once the poster child of the Olympic movement. A double amputee, Pistorius dominated his classification at the Paralympics between 2004 and 2012. However, he also made headlines after successfully campaigning for the chance to compete at the Olympics as well. Pistorius reached the semifinals of the men’s 400m event at the 2012 Games. However, it would all come crashing down after Pistorius murdered his girlfriend, Reeve Steenkamp. While Pistorius admitted to shooting Steenkamp four times, he claimed he had mistaken her for an intruder.

Steenkamp’s Family Speaks On Pistorius Parole

Steenkamp’s family did not oppose or object to Pistorius’ parole. Her father died earlier this year and her mother said, via a statement read by a family friend, that she “did not have the energy to face him”. “I do not believe Oscar’s version that he thought the person in the toilet was a burglar. In fact, I do not know anybody who does. My dearest child screamed for her life. … I believe he knew it was Reeva,” the statement continued. It was read outside the prison where Pistorius has been held since 2016 by Rob Matthews. Matthew’s daughter was murdered in 2004 and he has since become a close friend of the Steenkamp family.

Upon release, Pistorius is expected to reside in the mansion of his uncle in a wealthy Pretoria suburb. While little has been said of Pistorius’ time in jail, his father claims that he holds Bible study for his fellow prisoners. However, Pistorius also required medical treatment during his incarceration. It is believed he was assaulted by a fellow prisoner regarding an argument about a prison telephone.

Fetty Wap Hit With Wild Post-Prison Requirements

Last month, rapper Fetty Wap was sentenced to six years in federal prison for his role in a large-scale drug smuggling operation. Wap will not be eligible to seek parole until he has served at least five years of his sentence. This is due to a mandatory minimum on the charges in question. Prosecutors had pushed for a much harsher sentence. In fact, they went as far as to submit Wap’s 2014 hit “Trap Queen” as evidence. However, the six-year sentence appears to be just the start of the legal consequences Wap will face.

According to TMZ, they have obtained documents that detail the conditions Wap must live under after he gets out of prison. These conditions, which serve as conditions of his supervised release, will be in place for five years after he is released. Violating these conditions could see him return to prison.

Fetty Wap’s Parole Guidelines Revealed

The primary conditions relate to financial disclosure. Wap must submit full and transparent financial records and tax records to the probation department. This would come on top of a regular tax return. Furthermore, Wap would need to seek permission to open any new bank accounts or access any other financial services. Additionally, all assets owned by Wap – houses, cars, etc. will need to be made available to the federal government at any time. This is for the purposes of ensuring that he is not violating these guidelines. Wap’s attorneys had previously made claims during the trial about money. They claimed that Wap’s involvement in the smuggling operation was an attempt to alleviate other financial burdens.

Meanwhile, Wap will also have to submit a sample of his DNA to his parole officer after he is released. This sample must be obtained and provided under supervision to ensure that it is in fact his DNA being provided. However, all of his conditions will only apply once Wap gets out of prison. Due to the aforementioned mandatory minimum on his sentence, this will not be until 2028 at the earliest. Follow all the latest music and crime news here at HotNewHipHop.

Following a spur of releases, a judge sentenced Greedo to 20 years in prison in 2018 after striking a deal for guns and drugs charges in Texas. At this time, Greedo was at the height of his career with collaborations alongside Lil Uzi Vert, and more.
