React Like You Know is back!

It’s been a long time — we shouldn’t have left you. But to make it up, our Studio crew — Carolyn Droke, Cherise Johnson, and Steve Vasquez — rounded up a new group of Gen Z faves to run through the millennial video mill and their reactions make the wait more than worth it.

This week, we’ve got Paramore‘s “Misery Business” video, with Uproxx cover stars Chloe Bailey and Coi Leray, Na-Kel Smith, NLE Choppa, Reason, Sexyy Red, and more giving their takes on the fashion and sounds of the 2000s — as well as sharing their stories about living through the song’s lyrical scenario.

As Cherise explains, “It’s Paramore’s version of ‘she can’t love you like I love you’” (what Choppa calls one of “man’s best headaches”). The artists share their stories about being torn between options and getting into literal fights over boys.

Meanwhile, Reason is mystified by Paramore’s looks, asking “Did white people in high school look like this?” Sexyy Red approves of Hayley Williams’ hair, while Chloe has fond memories of her and her sister Halle’s “Paramore and Avril Lavigne phase” joking, “That’d be me, breaking down and crying.”

Rod Wave Speaks On Sampling Paramore In New Track “Crazy”

Rod Wave is seemingly on track to land another No. 1 album with his project Nostalgia. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily Radio show, Rod Wave spoke more on his recent album. He also shared that the track “Crazy,” which is featured on Nostalgia, includes sampled elements from Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun.” He explained how he was chatting with the band via IG message and says he didn’t realize he could get the sample cleared. “I wasn’t even aware that they weren’t fond of clearing songs until I was actually in that boat,” he explained.

“I was writing them and DMing them on Instagram.” “The song is real personal to me,” he continued. “So all my music, I try to just shed light on my background and what made me who I am, the reason I’m this kind of artist, the reason I’m who I am. So I always try to just shed light on that. Just the way [Paramore’s Hayley Williams] painting a picture vividly gives you both sides of the good and the bad.”

Rod Wave On Getting Permission From Paramore

Rod Wave is slated to earn his third chart-topping project with Nostalgia. HitsDailyDouble reported that Rod Wave’s Nostalgia will pull in around 130,000-140,000 first-week units. This would make Nostalgia “the third-biggest rap debut of 2023.” Rod Wave is no newcomer to the charts. In fact, he previously achieved chart-topping success on the Billboard 200 with his albums SoulFly in 2021 and Beautiful Mind in 2022. Additionally, he secured a place in the Top 10 with Ghetto Gospel in 2019 and Jupiter’s Diary: 7 Day Theory EP in 2022.

Despite often being an underdog in the industry, Rod Wave’s latest album, “Nostalgia,” is projected to debut impressively. This could potentially secure a No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts and surpass many hip-hop releases this year. With recent connections to his dream collaborator, Drake, more success may be on the horizon. Fans can eagerly anticipate what this potential collab might bring in terms of big numbers and artistic growth. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates on Rod Wave’s exciting journey in the music industry.

Steph Curry Sings “Misery Business” With Paramore: Watch

Steph Curry is easily one of the best players of this current NBA generation. Overall, he is a four-time NBA champion and he has plenty of other accolades to match. In fact, he is widely considered to be the greatest shooter ever. This is a massive accomplishment, and when all is said and done, he will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Although the Warriors are going to have trouble winning another title before he retires, there is no doubt that they at least have a chance. Once you give Curry space to cook, he typically takes advantage.

Throughout the offseason, Steph has been having a lot of fun. From family vacations to various concerts, it has felt like Curry has truly been living it up. After all, the NBA season is a long one, and sometimes it is good to just sit back and enjoy yourself. On Monday night, that is exactly what he did while out at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Paramore was playing a massive show at the Warriors’ arena, and Steph made sure to make an appearance.

Moving forward, Steph Curry will likely have to focus on getting ready for the upcoming season. The regular season is just over two months away, and training camp will begin very soon. Paramore Covers Beyonce In Houston

Pop-punk greats Paramore have a wider musical range than many of their contemporaries and they aren’t afraid to show it. The Tennessee band is currently on tour supporting their first new album in 6 years This Is Why. During a stop in Houston earlier this week the band paid their respects to one of the city’s legends, Beyonce. According to Uproxx, right in the middle of their setlist Paramore pulled out a Beyonce cover for fans. Unsurprisingly, they didn’t just go for one of her biggest hits. The band dug up “I Miss You,” a fan-favorite song from Beyonce’s album 4. Fans in attendance who recognized the song couldn’t believe what they were seeing and rushed to social media to share their videos and reactions.

Paramore clearly has a lot of love for genres beyond their own, but they aren’t one-sided. Many hip-hop artists cite Paramore as an influence and aren’t shy about sharing their love for the group. The biggest is Lil Uzi Vert, who has been praising the band’s frontwoman Hayley Williams for years now. That all culminated in a surprise team-up last month where Lil Uzi joined the band on stage for a performance of their marquee song “Misery Business.” Other rap artists who have shifted their gaze to pop punk also cite the band as a major influence. Both Willow and Steve Lacy have listed the band as influential to their sound. Shortly after shifting hit style to pop punk, Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker did a pandemic lockdown cover of “Misery Business” that went viral.

Paramore Surprises Fans With Beyonce Deep Cut

Beyonce herself has dropped two new songs this year, though they’re both remixes. She kicked the year off with a “wetter” version of her Renaissance fan’s favorite “Cuff It.” Just in time for summer, she teamed up with Kendrick Lamar for an explosive new version of “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM.”

What do you think of Paramore covering Beyonce in her home town? Let us know in the comment section below.

The Most Anticipated Concert Tours Of Summer 2023

Summer has officially arrived. Though many spring festivals are already behind us — from the chaotic Coachella to the stacked Governors Ball — there are many opportunities for music fans to catch exciting performances in the coming months. No matter what you listen to, there’s something for you, whether that’s Taylor Swift’s instantly-iconic The Eras Tour, Drake and 21 Savage’s hyped-up collaborative run, or Big Thief’s highly anticipated lap. See the most anticipated concert tours of summer 2023 below.

Taylor Swift

Let’s start with the obvious. Since the first night in March, The Eras Tour has been all anyone’s ever talking about. With openers like Paramore, Phoebe Bridgers, Beabadoobee, and more on select dates, the shows are a formula for perfection. The setlist is a whopping 44 songs from all of her different albums, and the extravagant outfits and dance choreography only make it even more special.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé’s Renaissance was the biggest album of last year, serving as the highly anticipated follow-up to 2016’s colossal Lemonade. So it makes sense that the legend’s tour for her new record stretches all the way from May to September, stopping by as many stages as possible. It’s already going strong, with a Tiny Turner tribute in London and an appearance from her daughter Blue Ivy in Paris. Check out the full dates here.

Zach Bryan

“Without this album I don’t know where I would have turned when I didn’t have anyone who understood,” Zach Bryan wrote on Instagram about his debut album American Heartbreak, which came out a year ago. He’s bringing those songs on the road with him on The Burn, Burn, Burn Tour, and he’s making sure it’s a good time by keeping tickets affordable despite Ticketmaster’s wrath.

Metallica

Earlier this year, Metallica unleashed their highly anticipated new album 72 Seasons. Beginning in August and going all the way through the fall, their world tour will come to the US with bands like Pantera, Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, and Mammoth WVH. It won’t be an event to miss.

Karol G

Last year, Karol G was named the most-streamed female Latin artist on Spotify. She shared her fourth studio album Mañana Será Bonito in February, and it was a major moment for the world-dominating artist. With a Shakira collaboration and tons of catchy hits “Provenza” and “Amargura,” it only elevated her status as a pop queen, and her upcoming tour is definitely going to be a must-attend. It kicks off in Chicago at Lollapalooza and ends in New Jersey in September.

Drake/21 Savage

Drake and 21 Savage had fun building up the anticipation of their collaborative album Her Loss last fall with shenanigans like a faux NPR Tiny Desk and a fake Howard Stern interview. The two are unpredictable when they’re together, but that record proved their musical chemistry. The It’s All A Blur Tour is a run that ranges all the way from June to October; they’ll be stopping by a lot of cities, so there are no excuses. Drake even has a new album on the way.

Dominic Fike

Dominic Fike announced his sophomore album Sunburn at the end of May and shared dates for the Don’t Stare At The Sun Tour along with it. The singles have been previewing an eclectic record from the Euphoria star. The run begins in Indiana in July and ends in Kentucky in August.

aespa

aespa’s SYNK: Hyper Line World Tour is no casual affair. Earlier this year, they became the first K-pop act to perform at Governors Ball. They’re taking their show to stages in Europe, the United States, and Latin America this summer. It kicks off in California in August and continues until the end of September.

Big Thief

Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You by Big Thief was one of the most beloved indie albums of 2022. Since then, the band has taken the stage on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform an unreleased ballad called “Vampire Empire” and fans have not stopped begging for an official release. Hopefully they’ll play in on their upcoming tour, which starts in July in Vermont and ends in California in August.

Paramore

Hayley Williams brought out Lil Uzi Vert for “Misery Business” at Madison Square Garden, paid tribute to Tina Turner with a performance of “What’s Love Got To Do With It” in Atlanta, and covered Fleetwood Mac in Dublin all on Paramore’s tour for This Is Why. It’s been getting better with every show, and the shows are raging until August.

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran’s The Mathematics Tour just stopped by New Jersey at MetLife Stadium, and it broke an attendance record for having just above 89,000 fans in the crowd. The pop star just released his sixth studio album – (Subtract), and the setlist is packed with songs from it as well as his beloved radio hits.

Beabadoobee

Beabadoobee was busy earlier this year opening up for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour. The singer unleashed her sophomore album Beatopia this year, and collaborated with Clairo for “The Glue Song” in April. She just has a few dates coming up in the United States, and only in New York City, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and a recently-added date in Seattle.

Post Malone

The name of the If Y’all Weren’t Here I’d Be Crying Tour is an accurate depiction of Post Malone’s vulnerability and his appreciation of his fans. The “Circles” performer is dropping his new album Austin at the end of July but he’ll hit the road at the start of that month. It stops by cities all over North America and it’ll definitely be a simultaneously fun and emotional time.

Don Toliver

In February, Don Toliver unveiled his new album Love Sick. It’s coming to life on stage on the Love Sick Tour, which is already in the midst after kicking off in Colorado. It will hit Atlanta, Houstin, Los Angeles and more in July with opener Pi’erre Bourne as well as “special guests” that’ve been teased.

Moneybagg Yo

Uproxx cover star Moneybagg Yo is not messing around. The rapper shared his new mixtape Hard To Love at the start of June and then announced his Larger Than Life Tour, which brings along rising stars Finesse2Tymes, Sexxy Red, Luh Tyler, Big Boogie, and YTB Fatt. It’ll kick off in August.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Lil Uzi Vert Joins Paramore On Stage For “Misery Business”

Lil Uzi Vert has long been a fan of Paramore. Back in 2017, they famously mentioned the lead singer, Hayley Williams, as a huge influence. “She’s like the best,” Uzi said in an interview. “It’s hard to top that. She’s like the best, just of my generation… There’s nobody bro.” The rapper also famously uploaded a video of themself jamming alone to a Paramore song in the car. Apparently, they almost collaborated with the band. However, Hayley Williams reportedly turned down the chance to work together after Lil Uzi reached out. In March 2020, during an interview with Apple Music, Hayley Williams explained why she declined an opportunity to collaborate Uzi.

Williams revealed that Uzi had asked her to work on some music together, but she turned them down. “I remember, too, Uzi asking me to do some stuff with [them],” she said. “I know that fans are going to be so pissed at me for saying this, but I literally wrote [them] back on Instagram and I was like, ‘Buddy, I love you so much, but I don’t want to be that famous.’” Despite the initial rejection, Lil Uzi Vert remained hopeful. During last summer’s BET Awards, they spoke with Complex, stating that their dream collaboration was still with Hayley Williams from Paramore. They emphasized that in their view, there was no one better than Hayley Williams.

Lil Uzi’s Dream Finally Comes True

Lil Uzi’s dream finally came true. During Paramore’s second performance at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, they added another exciting twist to their hit song, “Misery Business.” Lil Uzi Vert made a surprise appearance, and together they delivered a fresh rendition of the track. Before they sang together, Hayley Williams had some kind words for the rapper. She gave them a big hug before delivering a message of love and support.

“[We’ve been] talking for a minute, but this is the first time we’ve met in person. I love you,” Williams told Lil Uzi. “You’ve said too many nice things about me. You are so sweet to me and to Paramore, so can we do this bridge again together? And then we’re gonna melt their faces off. Alright? New York City, are you ready? Here we go!” With that, the pair performed the final half of the song excitedly as the crowd cheered them on. What do you think of the video? Sound off in the comments below! Be sure to stay tuned to HNHH for all the latest Lil Uzi Vert updates.
