Owen Wilson had an epic weekend. On December 14, the Loki actor stormed the stage of Rolling Loud Miami 2024 with headliner Travis Scott.

But when Wilson was not serving as the hype man during Scott’s performance of “Fe!n,” he enjoyed other musicians’ set from the crowd. One of those performances included Sexyy Red. While hip-hop know the “Pound Town” rapper as a provocateur, Wilson was completely unaware. During Sexyy Red’s Rolling Loud Miami 2024 set, Owen Wilson was spotted looking on in utter shock. Well, the now-viral clip captured by a festivalgoer (viewable here), made its way back to Sexyy Red’s desk.

Yesterday (December 15), Sexyy Red took a moment to address leaving Wilson speechless. On X (formerly Twitter), Sexyy reposted the video with the caption: “Dats my baby Owen 😽😽.”

That flirty response was enough to jump start Sexyy’s followers inner matchmaking skills. Others are now eagerly awaiting Wilson’s forthcoming film inspired by the festival. If Sexyy Red twerking was enough to knock him off of his feet, he has a lot of work to do to prepare for his upcoming role.

For true Sexyy Red fans, this isn’t even her most memorable Rolling Loud Miami moment. Back in 2023, Sexyy Red took was escorted onstage by shirtless men on leashes.

Sexyy Red Reacts To Owen Wilson Looking Shocked At Her Rolling Loud Performance

Sexyy Red has left many mouths agape since her rise to superstardom, but perhaps none have been funnier than Owen Wilson’s at Rolling Loud Miami’s tenth anniversary iteration this past weekend. Moreover, a clip went viral on social media of him staring at the screen projecting her during her performance, looking like he was frozen in time. It’s a hilarious video, and one that the St. Louis femcee couldn’t help but laugh at, too. “Dats my baby Owen [two kissing cats emojis],” she quote-tweeted the visual. It seems like Sexyy had a great time at the festival, running through her established bangers and through newer hits such as her Tyler, The Creator, GloRilla, and Lil Wayne collab “Sticky” off of Tyler’s CHROMAKOPIA.

But Sexyy Red wasn’t the only one who had a ball at Rolling Loud Miami, as Owen Wilson was up to a lot. He will star in an upcoming comedy film about the festival alongside Matt Rife, which is why he was there over the weekend to shoot some stuff and take in the vibes. An actor always does their research!

Sexyy Red Shouts Out Owen Wilson

Not only that, but he even got onstage with Travis Scott to prelude “FE!N” and see that sea of moshpit enthusiasts from a bird’s eye view. Well, a bird on a huge stage, anyway. As for Sexyy Red, 2024 was a pretty solid follow-up year to her breakout 2023, including a new project, plenty of collabs, big singles, and much more. Everybody who called this some simple 15 minutes of fame could not have been more wrong, and it’s clear that she can still rock a crowd with ease. It’s got us looking forward to 2025, and hopefully a more pronounced and exciting artistic redirection that still keeps the roots healthy.

Meanwhile, Owen Wilson might want to stray away from Sexyy Red if he’s looking for relationship advice. She and Summer Walker recently caught some flack for advising a fan to stay with a partner even though they cheated on her twice. Jokes aside, it’s always a treat to see pop culture crossovers that would never, ever appear on a Bingo card.

Owen Wilson Joins Travis Scott Onstage at Rolling Loud

Owen Wilson joins Travis Scott at Rolling Loud music festival

He’s known for crashing weddings, but over the weekend, Owen Wilson took “crashing” to a whole new level when he joined Travis Scott onstage during his performance of “FE!N” at Rolling Loud, much to the surprise and delight of the audience.

Wilson joined Scott on the rain-soaked stage as the song began, coming out and announcing “I’m feining for more” as pyrotechnics lit up the stage. Video footage shared to X (formerly Twitter) shows Wilson jumping around and pumping his fist as Scott performs his 2023 hit.

However, the performance was not an indication that Wilson will be leaving acting and entering the world of hip-hop anytime soon. The performance was reportedly staged as part of Wilson’s upcoming film, Rolling Loud, a comedy in which he stars opposite Matt Rife about a father who ventures to the music festival with his son and co-worker (Rife).

Scott, however, appeared thrilled to be joined by Wilson, posting a clip from the performance with the caption “made mi day” on his Instagram story, followed by a photo of Wilson’s iconic 1996 film “Bottle Rocket” with the caption “lej” (assumed to be a reference to Wilson’s legendary status).

The film Rolling Loud, which is written and directed by American High‘s Jeremy Garelic, is set to be released in 2025. In addition to his involvement in the film, Rife is currently in the midst of his Stay Golden Tour while Wilson has just wrapped up his second season of Disney+’s acclaimed Marvel series Loki. Scott, meanwhile, is set to headline at Coachella in April.

Travis Scott Joined By Owen Wilson Onstage At Rolling Loud Miami For Film Shoot

Travis Scott was one of the headliners for Rolling Loud Miami’s tenth anniversary this weekend, and unsurprisingly, he seemed to have a blast while closing out Saturday night (December 14). In fact, he even had a very special guest to join him onstage: Owen Wilson. It seems like we might see this moment in more elaborated full-screen glory, as he and Matt Rife will reportedly star in a comedy film about the hip-hop extravaganza. It will presumably come out at some point next week, and they filmed on location to bring the crowds and festival energy to life as closely as they could.

Owen Wilson was clearly fiending for more, and Travis Scott was happy to oblige as always. What’s more is that fans of La Flame are fanning the flames of another hype cycle, as he apparently will drop more music very soon. Of course, we can’t put too much stock into these rumors and promises, especially with the long wait for UTOPIA still relatively fresh in our minds. But considering how good the album was, fans are more than ready to wait for greatness.

Travis Scott & Owen Wilson Turn Rolling Loud Up

Still, that’s not to say that everything about this whole UTOPIA run was smooth sailing, as he sued a tour production company for $100 million. Apparently, Show Motion Engineering damaged his brand and caused significant financial losses by failing to deliver on their promised set design and using the Houston artist’s image and name to boost their own profile without authorization. A lot of fans probably didn’t even notice there was an issue to begin with, since the trek was so elaborate. Just goes to show that so much onstage magic has way more context behind it than concert-goers can gather.

As for Owen Wilson’s set cameo, we’re very curious to see how this Travis Scott performance could tie into the Rolling Loud movie or if it was just a one-off special guest appearance. The latter is an electric performer, so he could’ve probably met a Lifetime actor onstage and still created the same momentum. We’ll see if fans will get a chance to indulge in this excitement again in 2025.

Yesterday (December 14), Travis Scott made his return to Rolling Loud Miami. But the “Mo City Flexologist” rapper’s highly anticipated set was not just about him. During Rolling Loud Miami 2024, Scott used his headlining appearance as character development for one notable actor.

As Travis Scott transitioned into his beloved song “Fe!n” he was joined on stage by an unlikely duet partner Owen Wilson. In the now viral clip (viewable here), Travis Scott took Owen Wilson under his wing to deliver a high energy performance of the standout Utopia track.

Although Wilson didn’t quite have the lyrics to the song memorized he did introduce it with confidence. “I’m feigning for more,” Wilson yelled to the sold out crowd.

As for Scott and Wilson’s shocking collaboration, according to Deadline‘s latest report it could be field research for the actor’s upcoming film, Rolling Loud. The forthcoming film, which is inspired by the namesake music festival, will star Wilson and comedian Matt Rife.

The picture is described as: “An overprotective father (Wilson) who makes a bold parenting decision when he sneaks his 13-year-old son into the world’s largest hip-hop music festival, setting off a chaotic adventure with his reckless co-worker (Rife) and an eccentric festival volunteer as they navigate wild crowds, security, and their own family dynamics.”

With this information handy, attendees are interested to see what behind-the-scenes moments from Rolling Loud Miami makes it to the big screen.

Owen Wilson & Matt Rife To Star In Comedy Film About Rolling Loud Festival

Hip-hop festival Rolling Loud is apparently making its way to the big screen, as Deadline reports that Owen Wilson and Matt Rife will star in a film (simply titled Rolling Loud) about a father and son attending the shindig in Miami. RL is actually celebrating its tenth year in 2024, led by a Playboi Carti performance that fans are pretty skeptical about. Apparently, production for the flick will begin this weekend for the extravaganza’s Florida iteration, and American High’s Jeremy Garelick wrote and directed this film. The movie is reportedly based on a true story of a stern and strict father (Wilson) sneaking his 13-year-old son into the world’s largest rap festival alongside a volatile colleague (Rife) and a festival worker.

Furthermore, this Rolling Loud film boasts production from none other than Live Nation Productions (a division of Live Nation Entertainment) and will take advantage of the festival’s tenth anniversary to set the stage. Garelick and Will Phelps will produce for American High, and Stella Bulochnikov will produce for Pat Solitano Productions and Jolene. Apart from the cast (so far) of Owen Wilson and Matt Rife, other crew members include executive producers Ryan Kroft (Live Nation), Pasquale Rotella, Matt Zingler, and Tariq Cherif (Rolling Loud, Rife, Christina Shams).

Owen Wilson & Matt Rife Will Attend Rolling Loud Very Soon

As for Rolling Loud‘s distribution, UTA Independent Film Group will handle worldwide rights and plans for a 2025 release. We’ll see what Owen Wilson and company cook up with this movie, which should make for a pretty fun romp or at least a curious film. After all, festival attendees are probably curious to see if they see their experiences reflected on the silver screen. Performers move many commitments around to make an RL slot, so the crew has big shoes to fill and a huge journey to capture.

Meanwhile, Rolling Loud often boasts a pretty rowdy clientele, so production on location should yield some very interesting and notable perspectives. Maybe this film will turn out to be another Hollywood flop or Owen Wilson and company actually pull something special together. In either case, we’re very interested to see how this shapes up.

Owen Wilson Emulates Bob Ross in New Trailer For “Paint”

IFC has officially released the trailer for the new comedy Paint. Owen Wilson stars and portrays a Bob Ross-esque character of comedic proportions. In the film, Wilson plays Carl Nargle. He is Vermont’s top TV painter with anything he could ever ask for. He prides himself on his strong fanbase of fawning women and his even stronger perm. What more could he need? However, a younger artist steps into the world of TV painting, giving him competition and derailing his perfect life. Wilson’s character, Nargle, is a clear nod to Bob Ross, who led the PBS instructional painting program, The Joy of Painting, for 11 years from 1983-1994. He passed away in 1995 at age 52.

Wilson leads the film, Paint. He’s known for his previous roles in iconic comedies like Zoolander and Wedding Crashers. Also, fans know Wilson from The Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket, Marley & Me, The French Dispatch, the Cars franchise, Marry Me, and Loki. Additionally, he has an upcoming film, Haunted Mansion, set to release in April 2023. He will be co-starring with the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Jared Leto, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, and Winona Ryder.

Watch the ‘Paint’ Trailer

Joining Wilson in the film, Paint, is Michaela Watkins (Wanderlust), Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Ciara Renée (The Flash), Lusia Strus (50 First Dates), Stephen Root (Barry), and Lucy Freyer. In addition, the cast includes Denny Dillon (Saturday Night Fever), Evander Duck Jr. (Orange Is the New Black), Will Blagrove (Inside Amy Schumer), and Ryan Czerwonko (Chicago Med).

Brit McAdams wrote and directed the film. His impressive work also includes Katt Williams: American Hustle, Triviatown, Tosh.0, Atom TV, and #IMomSoHard. Kacey Musgraves And Owen Wilson Confirm Everything Is Bigger In Texas In Their ‘SNL’ Promo

The season premiere of Saturday Night Live is just a day away and that means that the hilarious pre-show promos featuring the guest host and musical guest have also returned. In this week’s promo, series regular Kenan Thompson joins Owen Wilson and Kacey Musgraves to contemplate whether things really are bigger in Texas, try to start a belly band, and tease Kenan’s lateness. Musgraves especially looks like she’s struggling not to break in the last clip.

The first clip is of special significance, as both Wilson and Musgraves are Texas natives. Kenan asks them whether something like burgers fall under the “everything is bigger in Texas” motto, to which Wilson replies, “Depends who’s makin’ ’em.” Musgraves brags, “I make ’em about the size of my fist.” Thompson declares he’s never going to one of her barbecues — and if I may interject here, I will gladly take his spot. He’s missing out.

You should absolutely not miss out on Musgraves’ performance, which will feature songs from her new album Star-Crossed. Each time she’s performed songs from it — such as the fiery rendition of the title track she gave to the MTV VMAs this year — it’s been a show-stopper. Personally, I’m hoping for a redux of her fun “Simple Times” video.

Watch Kacey Musgraves, Owen Wilson, and Kenan Thompson hype up the upcoming season premiere of SNL above.
