Meta Outage: Elon Musk Expertly Trolls Mark Zuckerberg’s Social Platforms

It’s no secret that Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg aren’t on the greatest of terms, especially after their highly anticipated fight failed to come to fruition last year. We may not ever see the Twitter/X head and the Meta boss square off in the ring, but Musk is still getting some shots in at his nemesis via social media. If you were online today, you might’ve noticed some outages occurring across Instagram and Facebook, leaving some users frustrated and unable to share content or communicate with loved ones.

Thankfully, things are back to normal at the time of publication, but they weren’t fixed before the Tesla CEO threw shade at Zuckerberg. “If you’re reading this post, it’s because our servers are working,” he tweeted mid-way through Tuesday (March 5) morning. Meanwhile, anyone trying to view the latest posts over on Meta-owned apps was rendered unable to refresh their feed or upload anything of their own.

Elon Musk Confirms Twitter/X is Stable During Meta Outages

Minutes later, Musk posted a meme from Dreamworks’ Madagascar, in which one leader penguin (X) gives orders to three others (IG, Facebook, and Threads). Beneath is a post from Andy Stone, who writes, “We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.” Though it’s unclear if the engineer also runs the official X account, they got in on the fun too, tweeting, “We know why you’re all here [right now]” first thing this morning.

Since his tumultuous takeover, Elon Musk has handed over many of his responsibilities at Twitter/X to other tech experts. Of course, that doesn’t mean he isn’t still one of the platform’s most popular users. Besides his shady message aimed at Zuckerberg today, we also saw the South African go viral for his response to Kanye West’s online comments about rockets. Read all about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Metro Boomin Revisits When He Lost Three Future Beats Due To Power Outage

Even the best beatmaking machines out there- whether it’s controllers, drum machines, or samplers- still need a power source to function. If you’re hammering out some beats on one, and all of a sudden the power goes out and you haven’t saved them, they’re lost forever. Still, this is something that producers deal with all the time, and Metro Boomin recently went through this rite of passage again. Specifically, it happened to three instrumentals he was making for Future a couple of months ago. During a recent Billboard interview, the St. Louis native recalled what that experience was like.

“They was beats I was making for the next time I see [Future], and they was going cr*zy,” Metro Boomin told interviewer Tetris Kelly. “Boom, boom, boom. And I just came from Atlanta, and there was a storm. One of my beat machines that I use…. It’s not like a computer. It’s old-school, so it’s plugged up. The power goes out, and you haven’t saved it, that’s it. Sometimes, if I’m so far into something and that happens, then I’ll just be like, ‘Alright, I just gotta do something.’ And that usually be a blessing in disguise, I’ve done learned. ’Cause the next thing be like, ‘Oh man, I wouldn’t have had this if I hadn’t lose this.’”

Furthermore, this happened to the HEROES & VILLAINS mastermind back in August, and he tweeted as such. “Just made 3 [fire] beats on my MPC 3000 and the power just went off at the crib I didn’t even get to record them in yet. I’m finna go cry myself to sleep bye y’all,” Metro Boomin shared with his followers on the social media platform. As he mentioned, either way he ended up striking gold with another set of beats, and we can only dream of what his collab album with Future will bring.

Meanwhile, has this every happened to you if you produce? Are you excited for Metro Pluto or for other projects that Metro’s involved in? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, stick around on HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Metro Boomin and Future.

Spotify Experiences Major Outage, Twitter Reacts

Spotify is one of the biggest streaming platforms in the entire world. Overall, it is responsible for hundreds of billions of music streams. The biggest artists in the world are all found on the platform, and they largely rely on Spotify for discovery. Although some feel like the revenue splits are too low, the streaming era persists. Of course, the company has various competitors, such as Apple Music and Tidal. However, it remains the biggest platform in the world, which speaks to the name recognition.

That said, a lot of Spotify users got a pretty bad wake-up call this morning. It was immediately made clear that the platform just was not working as intended. Users were unable to play songs, and it led to mass confusion and sadness. Consequently, Spotify had no choice but to act quickly and respond. With numerous reports of an outage, the company took to Twitter. “Something’s not quite right, and we’re looking into it. Thanks for your reports!” they wrote. Subsequently, they followed this up by saying “Everything’s looking much better now! Give @SpotifyCares a shout if you still need help.”

Spotify Speaks Out

As it turns out, Spotify may have jumped the gun by saying that everything was back up and running again. In the comments underneath the above post, many made it clear that the platform still is not working. “I can’t play any songs… it just skips through everything on a playlist or just straight up doesn’t play as a single. It shows up as playing on Discord for some reason even though it isn’t,” one person wrote. “Still not working, says Spotify can’t access the song currently (happens with every song),” another stated.

Overall, this is a huge problem. On our end, Spotify is still not working, which means the same is happening to a large percentage of their userbase. Hopefully, the platform is able to rectify this issue, sooner rather than later. Let us know if you are having issues with Spotify, in the comments down below.
