Giannis Antetokounmpo Fails At Roasting KD, LeBron, & Nikola Jokic: Watch

Giannis Antetokounmpo is known around the NBA for being one of the nicest guys out there. Overall, many see him as the best player in the NBA. Even on a bad night, Giannis will give you at least 25 points and then another 10 rebounds on top of that. Furthermore, he brought a championship to Milwaukee, which is pretty legendary. He could have easily gone anywhere to win a title, but instead, he opted to play in a small market and give them everything they ever dreamed of.

Additionally, Giannis does all of this while being extremely humble. Despite all the chatter of him being the best in the league, he has no interest in actually claiming this title. Instead, he would rather defer those titles to people like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Although some believe he is putting on a “fake modesty” act, there is no doubt he is sincere. At the end of the day, he is just a guy living his dream and nothing can take him off of his pedestal.

Giannis Antetokounmpo On “The Daily Show”

Recently, Giannis was on The Daily Show which was hosted by Hasan Minhaj. During the episode, Minhaj, who is a huge NBA fan, tried to get Giannis to diss other players in the NBA. However, Antetokounmpo simply did not have the heart to do it. Instead, he just praised everyone. For instance, he made a joke about Kevin Durant and how he can’t carry his own team. Giannis hated the bit and decided to just praise KD immediately after. The same occurred with LeBron, as he told the Lakers star that he looks up to him. Luckily, we got some jokes for Nikola Jokic as Giannis said “Joker, how are going to make it through the Finals when you look like you could barely make it through a Burger King drive-through?”

For the foreseeable future, it appears as though Giannis will not be offering up any disses to his peers. Overall, he is too nice of a guy for that kind of thing. For now, he is just focused on winning a second title with the Bucks. If he makes it happen, he will certainly become one of the greatest players ever.

Nikola Jokic Matches Stat Line Only Achieved by Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor

Nikola Jokic continues to put his name in rarified air. During a matchup with the Charlotte Hornets, the two-time reigning MVP notched a historic triple-double of 40 points, 27 rebounds, and ten assists to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 119-115 win.

The triple-double was Jokic’s fifth of the season and 81st for his career. He became the third player in NBA history to have at least 40 points, 25 rebounds, and ten assists in a single game. The others are Wilt Chamberlain, who did it four times, and Elgin Baylor.

According to ESPN, Jokic is the second player to get a forty-point triple-double this season, following Luka Doncic, who has three.

“To be honest, I think it’s because of our defense, and I was just in the right spot to rebound the ball,” Jokic said of the performance. “It’s not that I was grabbing for them or whatever, chasing for them. It just happened, you know? I wish it could be every night, to be honest.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Jokic Has 46 Point Triple Double, Tatum Drops 54, Middleton Drops 44 in Wild NBA Sunday

One night after LeBron James dropped 56 points against the Golden State Warriors in a Saturday Night Showcase classic, the NBA showed it’s truly a league of “you never know what’s next” with several stellar performances.

In an overtime thriller, reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic tallied 46 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 4 blocks, and 3 steals. Jokic scored 30 points of his 46 in the fourth quarter and overtime of the 138-130 win.

“That’s just not something that you see often,” Jokic’s teammate Aaron Gordon said to ESPN. “He took over, 30 points in the fourth quarter and overtime; that’s just sick. That was just an amazing game. He’s an amazing ballplayer.”

Opening the action on Sunday was the Atlantic Division battle of the Boston Celtics and the visiting Brooklyn Nets. While the boo’s rained down on Kyrie Irving from the Boston crowd, the jumpers rained in from Celtics swingman Jayson Tatum as he lit up the rivals for 54 points. The Celtics would win 126-120 despite Kevin Durant’s 37 point effort. The Nets have now been knocked down to the ninth seed.

“As a competitor night in, night out, but especially games like this, those matchups when you’re on one of the better teams in the league with two of the best guys, just as a competitor, these are the kinds of moments that as a kid, you dreamed about and looked forward to,” Tatum said.

Tatum now has tied Larry Bird for the most 50 point games in Celtics history with four.

In an NBA Finals rematch, the Milwaukee Bucks outlasted the short-handed Phoenix Suns. The Suns, without Devin Booker and Chris Paul, led most of the way, showing they are ready to battle their Finals foes. Giannis Antentokounmpo fouled out with 19 points but the stage was set for sniper Kris Middleton who poured in 44 points.

“We’re just trying to lock in a little bit better,” Middleton said to ESPN. “We’ve spoken on it multiple times in the past where we’ve had these lapses and what not. We’re trying to be dialed in, trying to be your best self for 48 minutes out there.”

The action of the NBA’s final regular-season stretch continues on Monday as East contenders in the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers face off, along with the Warriors visiting the Nuggets and the Lakers hoping to keep wins rolling against the San Antonio Spurs.
