Ravens Make Huge Lamar Jackson Decision

Lamar Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL. Overall, he has been extremely fun to watch over these past few years. He is a dual threat who can run the ball while also slinging through the air. However, injuries derailed his last two seasons when he was seemingly on track to become MVP of the league. Unfortunately, the Baltimore Ravens have been using these injuries against him. This is because, since last year, Jackson has been trying to secure a long-term deal with fully guaranteed money.

In the eyes of the Ravens, Jackson is not worth a fully guaranteed deal. Although, they do believe he should be paid like the best quarterback in the league. Regardless, this discrepancy has created a huge rift between Jackson and the front office. Today, the Ravens needed to reach a deal with Jackson, otherwise, their only option would be to franchise tag him. Ultimately, that is exactly what they did, although they used the non-exclusive tag. General Managers Eric DeCosta subsequently issued a statement claiming that they are committed to finding a solution with Lamar.

“Having not yet reached a long-term deal with Lamar Jackson, we will use the franchise tag,” DeCosta wrote. “There have been many instances across the league and in Baltimore when a player has been designated with the franchise tag and signed a long-term deal that same year. We will continue to negotiate in good faith with Lamar, and we are hopeful that we can strike a long-term deal that is fair to both Lamar and the Ravens. Our ultimate goal is to build a championship team with Lamar Jackson leading the way for many years to come.”

Now, Jackson can negotiate deals with other teams. From there, if Jackson signs an offer sheet, the Ravens can either match the deal or give Jackson up for two first-round picks. Brett Favre’s Lawyer Thinks Shannon Sharpe & Pat McAfee Will Lose Defamation Case

Brett Favre has been accused of some very damaging crimes as of late. Favre allegedly conspired with the government of Mississippi to divert welfare funds. Overall, these funds allegedly went to creating a volleyball facility at his daughter’s university. There is an ongoing investigation into these accusations, although Favre has maintained his innocence. At this point, it remains to be seen whether or not he will be charged with anything. For now, there are no plans to charge him, but of course, that could change.

Additionally, Favre has launched a defamation lawsuit against the likes of Pat McAfee and Shannon Sharpe. This is due to their coverage of the subject, which Favre believes has been less than favorable. Favre and his lawyer Eric Herschmann are confident that this is worthy of a lawsuit. In fact, Herschmann went on Crain & Company on the Daily Wire where he made the claim that this case is a “slam dunk.” Herschmann said that while Sharpe hasn’t spoken about the lawsuit, McAfee certainly has. The lawyer thinks this has made their case stronger and that McAfee is digging his own grave.

“Shannon Sharpe, since he’d been sued, has been quiet. Pat McAfee keeps talking about it. In all of my years as an attorney and being a prosecutor previously, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a defendant build a case against themselves,” Herschmann said. “His defense was ‘Oh, I threw in the word allegedly’ but two things is; the things that we cite, he didn’t throw in the world ‘allegedly,’ and secondly if he did any research or had a lawyer looking, that’s not really a defense.” This is an interesting analysis of the situation, although it is up to the court to make that final decision.

Derek Carr Signs With The Saints, Fans React

Derek Carr was one of the biggest free-agent quarterbacks in the NFL this offseason. Overall, there are some other interesting storylines to watch. Jerry Jones Sexual Assault Lawsuit To Proceed Despite Previous Ruling

Jerry Jones is currently in the midst of a legal battle as a lawsuit was filed against him back in 2020. This lawsuit came from an anonymous woman who claims that he allegedly “kissed her on the mouth and forcibly grabbed her without her consent.” According to the victim’s account, this all happened on September 16, 2018 at the Dallas Cowboys’ home stadium. Subsequently, Jones denied any wrongdoing and immediately filed motions to have the lawsuit thrown out.

Overall, the Dallas County district court decided to throw out the case. This is because Jones and his lawyers argued that the victim could not go by “Jane Doe.” Otherwise, her lawsuit would be invalid. The court agreed with this ruling, and for a while, it seemed like Jones was in the clear. However, that is no longer the case as the victim’s lawyers challenged this ruling. The lawsuit was reviewed by a Texas appellate court, and now, it has been revealed by Radar Online that the case is back on.

As the outlet reported, the court stated that Jane Doe “made a good faith attempt to amend her pleadings in response to the court’s special exceptions order.” Moreover, they believe that the lower court made an incorrect judgment call. Brandon Marshall Seemingly Spoils Aaron Rodgers Retirement

Aaron Rodgers is a very interesting guy. Over the last week or so, he has been contemplating his next move. Although, he has been doing this in a very unorthodox way. Rodgers reportedly went to Oregon to take part in some sort of “Darkness Retreat.” Overall, Rodgers was without any light sources for about half a week. Here, he was able to meditate and think deeply about whether or not he wants to return to Green Bay, ask for a trade, or just retire altogether.

Of course, there has been a ton of speculation about what Rodgers wants to do next. It is easy to see why when you consider just how amazing he is at the quarterback position. Rodgers is a legend, and there is always fanfare around what he will do next. However, it seems like Brandon Marshall knows something we don’t. The former NFL star took to Instagram on Tuesday night and congratulated Rodgers on his career and retirement. What makes this so bizarre is the fact that none of the insiders have reported on Rodgers calling it quits. In fact, even Rodgers hasn’t made any indication that he plans to retire.

Tom Brady is officially retired from the NFL, which means he is free to pursue whatever he wants. Although, it seems like Brady is more focused on spending time with his family right now. For instance, the NFL legend has told Fox Sports that he will only begin his broadcasting deal in 2024. Simply put, Brady just wants to do his own thing right now. Overall, it is easy to see why he would feel this way. He has dedicated 23 years of his life to NFL football, and at this point, his kids just want to spend some time with him at home.

However, there has been some chatter about what Brady’s next move will be. In fact, there have been some very interesting rumors about Brady wanting to become a stand-up comedian. As the outlet reports, Brady wants to be the subject of a Roast special. Although Comedy Central has been the face of Roasts in the past, Brady would be looking to do this special on Netflix. Essentially, Tom Brady would be looking for his friends and comedians to roast him in what would prove to be a hilarious evening of comedy. LeBron James & Patrick Mahomes Bond During Viral Interaction

LeBron James is one of the biggest draws in the entire NBA. Every single night, fans make their way to the arena just to see him do what he does best. However, fans will not be seeing him in a Lakers uniform anytime in the immediate future. Overall, this is because he injured his foot on Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks. He is expected to miss about two to three weeks with his injury, and from there, he will be re-evaluated. It is a huge blow to the Lakers’ playoff hopes, and fans are hoping for the best.

However, it should be noted that James was able to play through this injury against the Mavericks. It is actually pretty miraculous that he was able to pull that off. He told people on the court that he heard his foot pop, but somehow, he kept going. Subsequently, his team went on a huge second-half run that allowed them to pull off an epic comeback against Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Moreover, it gave him a reason to bond with none other than Patrick Mahomes.

Additionally, he reinjured it during the Super Bowl, although he was still able to lead a second-half comeback. For LeBron, however, it is clear that his injury isn’t something he can come back from that quickly.

Aaron Rodgers & The Packers Still Aren’t Talking

Aaron Rodgers is definitely one of the more interesting people in the NFL. Overall, he is also one of the best quarterback talents to ever play the game. However, at times, his philosophies have caused problems for the Packers organization. Not to mention, it feels like there is uncertainty surrounding the QB, every single offseason. Every single year, Rodgers baits the Packers into thinking he will leave, only for him to come back. Once again, the cycle has been renewed this offseason, and now, things are getting even more ridiculous.

For instance, just last week, Rodgers entered a darkness retreat in Oregon. Overall, the concept is simple. You go into some sort of cabin in the woods, and you go directly to the basement where there is no light source. You don’t have any technology either. The only thing you are allowed is a bathroom and some food. Although this sound ridiculous, it appears as though a lot of people actually participate in this. For Rodgers, it was supposed to provide clarity on whether or not he wants to be traded. However, we still don’t know anything.

Reporter Rob Demovsky recently took to Twitter with some reporting from the NFL combine. While speaking to Packers GM Brian Gutekunst, it was revealed that Rodgers has not talked to the organization. At this point, it seems like the Packers are happy with doing whatever. “He’s a great player, but until we have those conversations, I think all options are on the table,” Gutekunst said. “We need to have those conversations. We want what’s best for the Green Bay Packers, what’s best for him so we’ll get to that coming up.”

This whole situation has put some strain on the Packers’ front office. That said, perhaps a trade would end this tiresome saga, once and for all. Carson Wentz had a phenomenal season back in 2017. Overall, he was an MVP-caliber player who showcased he could lead the Philadelphia Eagles to victory. However, he eventually got injured and it was Nick Foles who won the Super Bowl that year. Since that time, Wentz has been on the decline. He cannot seem to get a steady job in the league, and fans are worried about his future. His time in Indianapolis was not good at all, and he wasn’t much better in Washington.

Subsequently, with Eric Bieniemy coming in as the Offensive Coordinator, there were various questions as to whether or not Wentz would have a future in Washington. After all, most coaches like to bring in their own guys. Furthermore, Bieniemy is used to someone like Patrick Mahomes, and Wentz isn’t exactly there in terms of skill. That said, the Commanders did, in fact, decide to make a difficult decision as it pertains to Wentz. According to Adam Schefter, he was officially released by the Commanders, making him a free agent.

Now, Wentz will be able to go wherever he is welcomed. However, his future is not exactly set in stone. There are very few teams out there who would probably want to take him on as a starter.
