Jim Jones & Juelz Santana Question Steph & Klay’s “Splash Brothers” Title

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, arguably one of the greatest shooting duos in NBA history, are better known by their moniker: the Splash Brothers. However, apparently this claim is nothing new, according to some OG New York MCs. Moreover, Jim Jones and Juelz Santana took to social media on Thursday (December 21) to claim that they called themselves the Splash Bros long before either basketball player was in the Golden State Warriors. It’s unclear exactly what prompted this complaint after ten years under the title– at least, for Steph and Klay. It’s also different types of “splashing” here: the Dipset duo has the drip, and the four-time champions make it rain from 3 on the boards.

“The original Splash Bros,” Jim Jones exclaimed. “I don’t know what Steph and Klay was talking about, but we been splashing before they been balling. We got the receipts to show it. Right now, we trying to figure out who decides war. Stop playing with us. This ain’t fashion, this is splashing. Pardon the drip.” “Dipset, us,” Juelz Santana added in the video below. “You see me in the middle of Harlem.”

Regardless of this, don’t think for a second that the likes of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson aren’t welcome in hip-hop. Never mind the endless lyrical references. The former in particular is even contributing to preserving an indelible cultural legacy in the game. His company Unanimous Media is producing an upcoming documentary on Mac Dre. It will chronicle the massive stamp he left behind on the Bay Area and West Coast hip-hop as a whole. It’s just one of many ways in which he’s been able to make a connection beyond pure association.

“Mac Dre is a cultural icon who made a tremendous impact on the Bay Area and beyond through his music and pioneering creativity,” Curry stated. “We’re honored to work with Mac Dre’s incredible mother, Wanda, to tell her son’s life story with respect and dignity for fans, the Bay Area community, and music lovers alike.” We’ll see how the Splash Brothers continue their dynamic– no matter which one you’re talking about. As you may recall, a surrogate was carrying his second child with the reality starlet when news broke about his affair with Nichols, which resulted in an unexpected pregnancy.

The news was devastating for Kardashian and surely embarrassing for Thompson, who initially denied paternity. Once official documents proved otherwise, though, he took some accountability for his actions and offered a public apology to True and Tatum’s mom. On recent episodes of the famous family’s Hulu series, Khloe’s sisters have been grilling Thompson about his habit of cheating. While the father of four clearly has awareness about what’s causing this pattern in his life, he seemed to tell the Good American founder that for men, these lessons are often learned by the time its “too late” for them to find happiness.

While Thompson seeks to course correct moving into the new year, Nichols is proudly flaunting her body on IG while commemorating the holiday season. “December is my favourite month✨. Sagittarius season and Christmas 💫,” she wrote while showing off her sculpted body in a shiny dress. Many comments were hyping the 32-year-old up, but still, she couldn’t help but notice those leaning more on the inappropriate side. “[Tristan] is a fool,” one user wrote. “If you were mine, at least three more kids with [you].”

Lizzo Wants Sexual Harassment Documents Sealed By The Court

Lizzo’s legal team has asked the court to seal a number of documents relating to ongoing sexual harassment lawsuits against the singer. In their motion, Lizzo’s team argues that “documents, correspondence and testimony that contain sensitive, confidential information and/or proprietary business information, including employee compensation, contract negotiation, and third-party sensitive contact information” should not be made public. The presiding judge is yet to rule on the motion.

This comes around a month after a number of the plaintiffs sought to challenge Lizzo’s usage of anti-SLAPP legislation. Anti-SLAPP legislation protects people against deliberately frivolous lawsuits designed to silence or oppress them. The term fully entered the public zeitgeist several years ago. It was popularized after a coal mining company attempted to serve Jon Oliver with a SLAPP suit. “Can a global celebrity be forever insulated from civil liability because all their conduct is protected as free speech under the anti-SLAPP statute? Defendant Lizzo asks this Court to rule in exactly that fashion. Fortunately for all victims of celebrity malfeasance, the law says otherwise,” the attorneys for three of the dancers suing Lizzo wrote in their motion.

While the suits and countersuits surrounding Lizzo remain ongoing, the case has deeply divided the music industry. In early November, Azealia Banks came out with a surprising apology for the embattled singer. “I was having a conversation last night. And I realized that I owe @lizzobeeating a huge apology for popping so much sh-t. If hip hop will allow a 55+ severely overweight @bustarhymes who exhibits major of anabolic steroid abuse, adrenal gland failure, and constipation. And will also allow him to have a face full of blackheads and acne from what appears to be a testosterone shot abuse. And whilst drinking molly water in 2023 and wearing cartoon-like Neon yellow fake gold slick Rick chains. We have absolutely no right to be trying to skewered a YOUNG black woman – for anything,” Banks wrote.

Most people remember Banks’ infamous 2019 rant in which she said she hated Lizzo and her “fake a– body positivity”. However, this is not the first time that Banks has defended Lizzo. Last year, she went after Kanye after he took aim at Lizzo’s weight. “[Kanye] can’t be trying to lollipop off the 4 year old discussion about Lizzo’s health and weight. He has an entire McDonald’s commercial,” Banks said on social media.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have shared their first official photos of their newborn son, Rocky. “ROCKY” was the simple caption given to the set of images posted to both parents’ Instagram page. Many of the pictures were simply of Barker holding his son gently. However, one showed Barker giving the child an enthusiastic kiss while another saw Kardashian breastfeeding. Rocky was born on November 4, with sources later revealing to PEOPLE that Kardashian was “over the moon” about her son’s birth. It was a relatively stress-free labor, a welcome change for the couple after the pregnancy underwent some complications in the third trimester. Barker canceled stops on Blink-182’s European tour after Kardashian was admitted to hospital for “urgent fetal surgery” in September. However, Rocky was announced to be a “healthy baby boy” after being born in early November.

Travis Barker Roasted For Drumming In Kourtney Kardashian’s Delivery Room

However, Barker faced some pregnancy-related backlash back in November. A video, posted to Barker’s TikTok and showing him drumming along to his unborn son’s heartbeat, was described as “the greatest ick” by some fans. In general, fans complained about what they saw as an obnoxious behavior, with many taking the opportunity to take shots at celebrities in general. However, one person who didn’t appear to mind it was Kardashian herself, who reshared the video to her Instagram story.

Furthermore, Barker was largely praised for his attentiveness following his son’s birth. One source told PEOPLE that Barker “keeps being amazing,” and that “he brings her [Kourtney’s] favorite, healthy food to the hospital. He makes sure she has everything that she needs. He is obsessed with their baby boy.” Both parents have children from previous relationships. However, Rocky is their first child as a couple. The couple got married in Italy in May 2022.
