Childish Gambino is going to be no longer pretty soon. After releasing the final album under this moniker, Bando Stone and The New World back in July, he brought out a tour to accompany it. The New World Tour kicked off back in August was essentially in its final stages, as it was scheduled to wrap up on October 3. However, the multi-talented artist is putting things on pause for now, according to Billboard. Gambino says he’s been dealing with some “physical health” issues that he wants to get right so he close things out on a proper note. Here’s what he had to say in a tweet just a couple of hours ago.
“Hey everyone. Unfortunately I have to postpone the rest of the north american tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks. Hold onto your tickets. These last two months have been extremely good for Tory Lanez and his fans. Well, in the case of the Canadian rapper, about as solid as they will probably be. The incarcerated MC has been dropping multiple tracks per week thanks to his creative release schedule. Up until July 24, the multi-talent had been unleashing some old tracks throughout his career that never got to see the light of day at the time of their recording. They were labeled as “Lost Tapes”. However, Tory decided to compile all of these songs into one playlist known as the “Free Tory Playlist”.
However, that wasn’t the full extent of it. On IG, he would go on to announce —via prison phone call— that he was going to record new songs from his cell, calling them “Prison Tapes”. Overall, his fanbase has been eating up these tracks, with a handful them cracking the top 10 most popular category on his Spotify account. Now, he says she asked for $2 million to appear on one of his songs in direct messages. “2 million cash for a Beyoncé feature I seen his dm,” they wrote.
When DJ Akademiks shared the post on Instagram, fans in the comments section couldn’t understand why she’d be charging so much. “A Beyoncé feature ain’t worth no 2 million im sorry this ain’t 2009, I respect her craft to she a goat,” one user wrote. Another wrote: “BEYONCE can do a 1,000,000 features with Durk. And the 40 plus year old women who listen to it still won’t buy an album or ticket to Durks concert. I know that truth hurts.
