Curren$y & Jermaine Dupri Lock In With T.I. On “Never Fall Off”

What began as a tribute to the So So Def founder turned into a full-blown series of collaborative projects. Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri began teasing a joint effort for over a year at this point and in a matter of days, For Motivational Use Only Vol. 1 will finally appear on streaming services. So far, the two Southern staples unveiled a handful of singles, like “Never Enough” and the ode to New Orleans, “Essence Fest.” These two singles alone provided promising insight into what to expect from their forthcoming project.

There’s no doubt that the two pulled all of their resources together to create the 40+ songs that are currently in the vault. Today, the two shared what seems to be the final single before the album drops, “Never Fall Off.” With assistance from T.I., Spitta and JD speak to the core of their upcoming project. It’s a soulful Southern banger that’s filled with motivational gems for the go-getters and hustlers. However, T.I. comes through with a stand-out verse that indicates that he won’t be slacking on Kill The King.

Curren$y & Jermaine Dupri Prepare For A Takeover

At this point, Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri haven’t unveiled the official tracklist for their upcoming project. However, we can suspect that they have a few heavy hitters attached to the tracklist. Along with T.I., JD previewed a single from the project featuring 2 Chainz. Though Spitta and the So So Def founder can certainly stand on their own without any assistance, it’ll be exciting to see who else they call on to join them on the project.

Spitta explained the project’s title during an interview with Vibe earlier this year.  “I think from that you can derive what you’re going to hear,” Spitta explained. “You’re going to be pushed to get money, to count that money, invest that money wisely, and then once you flipped it once or two times, then maybe get yourself a little something, and then continue and rinse and repeat. However, the Atlanta artist has done solo work in the past, so there were reasonable assumptions that he would be back with some tracks of his own. Following some tribute tracks, Quavo began teasing a new menacing-sounding single called “Honey Bun.” If you have been following Quavo on social media, you know that he was very hyped about this release.

Moreover, there were some rumblings that the song could feature Yeat. Honey bun is a saying that Yeat says in a lot of his tracks. Not to mention, he even left a reply on one of Quavo’s social media posts. However, the song has officially been released, and it is clear that the rapper has kept the track for himself. Although G-Eazy has yet to announce a new album, he is coming through with a single for these upcoming sunny days. The track in question is called “Tulips & Roses” and it came complete with a music video. This release was certainly a welcomed surprise for his fans, who woke up to a fantastic new effort.

G-Eazy Impresses On “Tulips & Roses”

In regard to the song itself, G-Eazy can be heard rapping over some nice piano keys and layered vocal samples. Overall, these vocal samples are done extremely tastefully. Moreover, the string synths hanging in the back make the song sound like something that could have been released in the 1920s. Of course, G-Eazy makes sure to mention the likes of The Great Gatsby which adds to the whole 20s aesthetic. Quavo Teases New Song, Honors Takeoff

Quavo just took to Instagram to tease a new song, and took some time to honor his fallen nephew Takeoff in the process. Moreover, he posted a black-and-white picture of what seems to be a music video shoot, as you can see a rig and some cameras in the right corner of the snapshot. However, it could also be the single cover art. Regardless, the Atlanta rapper looks somber in a fuzzy coat while smoking in front of a truck. Furthermore, he captioned the post with presumably the song’s title. “Honey Bun Friday! #ForTake,” he wrote.

This announcement follows the Migos member’s previous single “Greatness,” on which he addressed the iconic rap group’s future. Without Take, he says in the song, the group is no more and isn’t coming back. However, he didn’t explicitly mention remaining member Offset in the track, so we don’t know for sure if their rocky relationship also primarily motivated him to bring the trio to an end. Still, many fans caught potential disses via subliminal lines on the song, and the context is hard to ignore.

Quavo’s Dropping A New Song Soon, Honors Takeoff In Post

Despite the falling out that Quavo and Offset experienced some months before their partner’s loss, it’s not something that he brought publicly into the fold. Moreover, a lot of their falling out and the details of their feud were mostly speculated online given some indirect comments and their public movement. As such, Huncho’s always put that to the side as has Offset, who hasn’t given a lot of public statements directly addressing his cousin. Furthermore, Quavo instead focused on honoring Takeoff’s untimely passing through statements, personal grieving, and probably uniting with his family.
