Eminem, Ice Spice, Snoop Dogg & Juice WRLD Join Fortnite’s “Chapter 2” Remix For New Season

Fortnite has plenty of music collabs under their belt, so it’s no surprise the Battle Royale video game sensation continues to go all out for its crossover of dedicated players and music fans. Moreover, they just announced the launch of their Chapter 2 Remix for their new season on Friday (November 1), in collaboration with Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, and presumably the late Juice WRLD’s estate, which reportedly went live today (Saturday, November 2). Each hip-hop artist will have themed gameplay locations, skins, and other gameplay elements. Overall, it seems like a pretty thorough and engaging effort that will surely make fans lock in even more.

In fact, Snoop Dogg and Ice Spice hit the New York City streets this week to promote this new Fortnite collab, fresh off the former announcing his Missionary album’s release date. In Times Square, they offered a surprise performance of their biggest hits individually, and then united onstage to reveal the Chapter 2 Remix trailer, which you can check out down below. It previewed the worlds that these artists will be a part of, and Tha Doggfather will kick off this first week as the game’s sixth season’s main face.

For those curious, Snoop Dogg will be an in-game boss in Fortnite, complete with a unique weapon, and then Eminem (maybe Slim Shady?), Ice Spice, and Juice WRLD will follow. “My son Cordell’s a big Fortnite player with me, so when we had the opportunity we jumped on it as a new way to connect with my sound and style,” Snoop stated via a press release. “Anyone can be Snoop in Fortnite.” Juice will lead week four, and on November 30 at 2PM EST, the game will launch the Remix: The Finale live in-game event to celebrate his legacy, along with an exclusive skin for players that log in that day.

“You will see some really interesting ways of integrating music,” the director of strategic partnerships at Fortnite‘s Epic Games, Emily Levy, remarked to Billboard. “And we are debuting music at different points of the season in interesting places.” Where we dropping… Or is that meme dead already?

Timbaland Details What Fans Can Expect From “Verzuz” Season 3

Timbaland says that he and Swizz Beatz are focused on making Verzuz a “serious business model” amid its ongoing break. The legendary producer discussed the upcoming third season of the show during a recent interview with AllHipHop. Speaking with the outlet, he also detailed what fans can expect from the series going forward.

Verzuz is still a baby,” he explained, “It was something that was built in the pandemic that’s now a household name. Look how you saying it. Now we back open. To make it have the longevity that we need it to have, we have to reorganize the ship. We have to know how are we scaling up. We have to do things not how people used to us doing things.”

Timbaland also explained that they’re working on transitioning Verzuz out of the pandemic model in which it began. “With everything going on in the world, we have to convert back and really make this a real serious business model and a real serious thing, because I feel like Verzuz changes people’s lives,” he said. “What me and Swizz have created, we have changed the lives of a lot of things and built up catalogs, so we have to really structure who we are and when we come back, what we stand for.”

Despite this, Timbaland knows they can’t switch up the model so much it becomes unrecognizable. “Once you reintroduce a business that you built in front of people, it has to be somewhat nostalgic of what it was, but as it builds into what the future is going to be, you have to organize—and that’s what we’ve been doing,” he added. “I believe that we’re gonna drop some good ones before the end of the year. We’re trying to get at least one good one before the end of the year to recalibrate what Verzuz is going to be in the future.” He also says the battles need to be authentic and compared the brand-building to WWE. “It’s almost how we look at the WWE and wrestling. It’s like, ‘OK, now I gotta do WrestleMania, I gotta do this, I gotta do that.’ I gotta build this stuff to captivate the people,” he said.

Dave East Says Wu-Tang Series’ Next Season Is Its Best Yet

Dave East recently expressed his excitement for the third season of Wu Tang: An American Saga, which begins February 15 on Hulu. While participating in an interview with Baller Allert on the Grammys red carpet, they asked him what fans can expect from this new chapter. “It’s the best season,” the New York MC expressed. “I think this the season that the world’s going to be able to identify the most with. I feel like season one and two is, like, stuff you didn’t know about them. You know what I mean? Getting to know their stories. Season three, I’m, like, really Meth. I look like Meth for real, I got the fangs and all that. It’s dope the way RZA did it this season.”

Moreover, Method Man himself had a standout moment at the awards ceremony. Alongside a host of other legendary hip-hop artist, he took the stage for a performance commemorating hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. Furthermore, the Wu-Tang member appeared to deliver a bit from his classic 36 Chambers track, “Method Man.” In fact, one of the most viral clips from that performance showed Jay-Z rapping the verse along with him. While no other Clan member appeared to perform, Meth represented the collective with pride, skill, and energy. Also, the performance hosted other groups (whether partially or in full) like Geto Boys, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and The LOX. In addition, individual performers included Rakim, GloRilla, Too $hort, Ice-T, Missy Elliott, Lil Baby, LL Cool J, and Queen Latifah.

Furthermore, the actor for Ol’ Dirty Bastard in the series, TJ Atoms, spoke on what fans will see in Season 3. “For the story, you’re going to see what unfolds when the different members get signed to different labels,” he remarked. “And we’ll see what happens when they really start doing the Wu-Tang thing for real. We’re probably going to see tours and shows. A lot of performances and drama, for sure, because RZA was making all the decisions.

Everybody didn’t agree with RZA’s decisions,” Atoms continued. “I don’t know if everybody [was unhappy], but I know some people were probably not as happy with RZA making decisions on their behalf, so we’re going to see a lot of this and a lot of that.” Are you excited for the new season of Wu Tang: An American Saga, and are you looking forward to Dave East’s performance? However you may feel, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, come back to HNHH for the latest on the Wu-Tang Clan and their historic series.
