James Blake Is Headed To Outer Space On “Playing Robots Into Heaven”

James Blake is one of the most intriguing artists in the world right now. He is also a highly recruited artist in the hip-hop landscape. He scored multiple feature and production credits on Travis Scott’s massive album UTOPIA. He also landed on Metro Boomin’s soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. Blake’s track record will be one to remember when he eventually decides to call it quits. Obviously, though, he is still making music now and very exciting sounds at that.

Over the past three months, he seems to be taking a new direction compared to his previous works. James Blake is not one to settle for one sound, but this one is something totally left-field. Back in June, the multi-talent put out the lead single for his upcoming album called Playing Robots Into Heaven. The track is named, “Big Hammer,” and it is a four-minute track with electronic production with some trap-like kick drums. It also has a music video which is equally weird. A month later, the beautiful “Loading” features actual vocals from James.

James Blake Gears For Lift Off

Finally, the month right before the release date of September 8, we have this new cut that is titled after the album. The production puts you in a state of relaxation and zen. It transports you to outer space as if you are floating toward an alien-like world. The accompanying music video also provides the fans with album cover as you can above with the cover image. Do you think this will be an album of the year contender?

What are your initial thoughts on this new track and album trailer for “Playing Robots Into Heaven” by James Blake? Are you excited about this new direction he is going in? Which track out of three for this project is your favorite? We want to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Lil Yachty Tweets & Deletes About Drake’s “For All The Dogs” Rumors

Lil Yachty recently hopped on Twitter/X to speak on Drake’s upcoming album, For All The Dogs. The Canadian performer has been teasing the new record for some time, and based on reports, it should be arriving soon. As expected, there’s been a ton of chatter online about Drake’s latest offering. With that being said, Yachty seems to have noticed some inconsistencies, and he aired his thoughts to his followers. “Haven’t seen a factual piece of info on For All The Dogs yet lol,” the rapper wrote in the since-deleted Tweet.

Though Drake has yet to formally announce the release date of For All The Dogs, Apple Music seemingly confirmed the date earlier this week. According to them, it’ll drop on August 25. It’s unclear whether or not the reveal was intentional, but many fans speculate that it was not. He’s vaguely hinted at the release time frame at various tour stops, but never took the opportunity to announce the actual date.

Lil Yachty Speaks About Misinformation On For All The Dogs

It is clear that Drake’s been inching towards the drop, however, as he just recently unveiled the album’s cover art. The cover of For All The Dogs is a simple sketch of a dog by the performer’s 5-year-old son, Adonis. Fans are eager to see how the imagery relates to the record sonically. Some have suggested that it could symbolize him revisiting the “old Drake,” which he’s hinted at previously. “I’m tired of everybody coming up to me, [saying] ‘man… we miss that old Drake man. We need that old Drake man,’” he said in July. “Imma give it to you then.”

So far, listeners know to expect features from Bad Bunny and Nicki Minaj on the new project. Some other rumored features, however, have recently been debunked. Earlier this week, Zane Lowe shut down speculation that Frank Ocean would make an appearance on For All The Dogs, much to fans’ disappointment. Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Drake and For All The Dogs.

Diddy Unveils Trailer For “Love” Album

Diddy is back and better than ever. The Harlem-bred mogul just dropped off the trailer for his upcoming album, The Love Album: Off the Grid. Coming in at just under four minutes, the trailer finds the billionaire reflecting on his life as well as looking toward the future. “Why am I doing this? Especially with the success that I’ve had, especially where my life, how stressful and treacherous this music business is,” the trailer begins.

He continued: “My heart has been broken. I still have that question of, like, ‘Will I ever love again?’” As the trailer progresses, we see snapshots of Diddy’s life — from his relationship with the late model Kim Porter and bonding with his daughter, Love Sean Combs, to behind-the-scenes footage of him working in the studio. Additionally, the video features a star-studded lineup, including Justin Bieber, Swae Lee, Mary J. Blige, Babyface, Jozzy, Yung Miami, French Montana, and more.

This Marks Diddy’s First Solo Project Since 2006

It’s been 17 years since Diddy released his debut album, 2006’s Press Play. It spawned singles like “Tell Me” featuring Christina Aguilera and “Last Night” with Keyshia Cole. However, the Bad Boy founder has continued to keep fans fed with several singles over the years. Most recently, he teamed up with the City Girls and Fabolous for “Act Bad.” Before that, he collaborated with Bryson Tiller on a track titled “Gotta Move On.” The Love Album: Off the Grid is scheduled to be released on September 15. As of today, Diddy has yet to reveal the official tracklist or album artwork, but we can expect it soon.

In other related news, following the death of Clarence Avant, Diddy revealed his plans to honor his legacy. He was one of the many performers who honored the deceased industry connoisseur. “Clarence Avant was the definition of a free, fearless Black man. He never allowed any level of adversity or limitation stop him from paving his own path and advocating for Black creators to be valued and respected at the highest level,” his caption read.

Birdman Tells Lil Uzi Vert He Wants To Be On “Barter 16”: Clip

Fans have been eagerly-awaiting Lil Uzi Vert’s next project, Barter 16. A few tracks reported to be part of the mixtape have even surfaced online in recent days, following speculation that it’d be dropping on Friday (August 18). The anticipation has only built, and listeners can’t wait to hear the follow-up to Pink Tape. The project pays tribute to Young Thug, and Uzi’s been spotted dressing up as the rapper lately and appeared in the studio with some of his collaborators. He was photographed alongside Birdman earlier this month, sparking further speculation.

In a new clip, the duo are seen together once again, and Birdman tells Uzi that he wants in. “I wanna be on some of them songs, man,” he explains. The Cash Money founder continues, letting Uzi know that “We can make that sh*t pop.” Though nothing’s been confirmed at this point, it seems clear that they’re cooking up something together. For obvious reasons, fans would appreciate a Birdman feature, and it would make the project all the more true to Young Thug.

Birdman Says He And Lil Uzi Vert “Can Make That Sh*t Pop”

Another feature fans expect to hear on Barter 16 is Young Thug himself, the muse of the entire project. This appeared to be confirmed along with the recent leaks, but it’s still not official. Some fans are even concerned that the leaks could impact the album’s official release date, pushing it back even further.

Though it is possible that Barter 16 won’t be arriving as soon as listeners hope, Lil Uzi Vert just recently dropped it’s cover art. The imagery lines up perfectly with the of Young Thug’s original Barter 6 mixtape down to the rapper’s nudity, solidifying the homage. This has also gotten hopeful supporters thinking that the mixtape will officially drop sometime in the very near future. Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Lil Uzi Vert and Barter 16.

Nickelus F Puts Out First Album In Four Years With “The Specimen: Issue 00”

Long-time underground hip-hop artist Nickelus F has garnered the respect from some of the top-flight names in the rap game. However, it has not led to more mainstream appeal, unfortunately. But, the Virginian-born artist did obviously not care about making it to the limelight because he continues to pump out new music. It has been quite some time though since his last release, The Gold Mine Vol 2. In fact, it has been almost four years to the day, so what better time then to come out with a new project, The Specimen: Issue 00.

Nickelus F takes us on a bit of a space journey sometime in the future. He is found nearly dead and scientists put him in cryo-preservation on the opening track, “Cryostasis.” From that point on the first couple of tracks are him reawakening and learning about his surroundings. In a way, it could be a nod to the fact that it has been a while since Nickelus has come out with an album.

How Did Nickelus F Get On The Map?

The consistency of Nickelus F might not be known by most rap fans so, let us take a quick look at how this Richmond, Virginia-born artist got his start. Also known as Nick Fury by some, he really made a name for himself when he worked with a young Drake back in 2007. On the Cut the Check mixtape, Drake and Nickelus released the song “AM 2 PM.” It was also placed on Drake’s first mixtape, Room for Improvement, where Nickelus F made several other tracks. Those include “Money”, “A Scorpio’s Mind”, and “S.T.R.E.S.S.”.

What are your overall thoughts on this new album, The Specimen: Issue 00, by Nickelus F? If you have heard this project, what are your favorite songs from it so far? Giggs Has “Zero Tolerance” On His New Album

UK rap legend Giggs is back for his eighth studio album, Zero Tolerance. This comes off the heels of his last release almost three years ago being Now Or Never. The man has been making classics over the course of his whole career and rappers from the states are always trying to work alongside the SN1 (Spare No One) rap crew leader. Some of the biggest names in the rap genre have been blessed to hop on a track with Giggs.

For example, Drake famously nabbed two features from him on his 2017 playlist, More Life. “KMT” and “No Long Talk” were some of the heavy-hitting bangers on that tracklist even to this day. Drake did his best to respect the UK rap culture by changing the inflection in his voice to sound like a Brit, and it was met with some backlash and some love. Unfortunately, no collaborations between them made it onto this tracklist, but there is some heat here for sure.

Giggs Brings Out The Big Guns

Giggs’ 18-track album has plenty of quality, in part to some of the features. Diddy joined him for the lead single to this project on “Mandem.” Furthermore, he grabbed 21 Savage for “By Chance” which is a great combination. Giggs also uses 21 in an indirect way as well. On the opening and title track, he also samples the same song by Azoto called “Rainfall.” That song was flipped by Metro Boomin and 21 on their song “Umbrella” from HEROES & VILLAINS.

What are your thoughts on this new album, Zero Tolerance, from Giggs? Was it worth the three-year wait for you? Is Giggs a top-tier UK rapper? What is your favorite song of his or from this project? Genesis Owusu Takes You On A Trip With “STRUGGLER”

Experimental and alternative hip-hop artist Genesis Owusu has returned with another quirky album experience. This new project STRUGGLER details a story that maybe not one other artist would ever think to address. What is that you ask? Well, Owusu details the tale of a cockroach avoiding being squished by God and eventually, he begins to question why he is doing this. The Ghana-born and Australian-raised idiosyncratic artist is no stranger to thinking outside the box, and that is no different on STRUGGLER.

The beats and production choices are vibrant and feature lots of different drum patterns. The tracklist is 11 songs and it has a run time of 38 minutes and change. Owusu has two other projects to his name, those being Smiling with No Teeth and Missing Molars (Swnt Deluxe) which is the expanded version of No Teeth. Both were released in 2021 and it gave an immediate impression that Owusu is not your typical alternative rapper.

Where Did Owusu Get His Inspiration?

What is more interesting is the inspiration behind this new effort here. Owusu spoke with CD 92.9 FM about the journey to make this story come to life, “I feel like I kind of came to it almost as if like a like I was writing a fiction, like a short story, rather than like me documenting my life.” He continues, “So I kind of feel like it’s a world that lives on its own. I separated myself from it, and in doing that, I can make it as fantastical and as literary and otherworldly as possible.” Genius also says that he discovered this idea from absurdist literature and Franz Kafka’s, The Metamorphosis. This book also tells the tale about a cockroach and information on that is readily available.

What are your thoughts on this new album, STRUGGLER, by Genesis Owusu? Which songs are sticking with you the most? How do you feel about Owusu telling this tale of a cockroach and the inspiration he found for this project? We want to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave all of your thoughts for us in the comments section below. Sett Drops A 29-Song Double Disc Album “Life Of A SlimeCrook”

Southern trap artist Sett burst onto the rap scene just a little bit ago, but he is here with plenty of music for the masses. In fact, it is a two-disc project with 29 songs on it, a tall task for a new artist to tackle. However, with a co-sign from Atlanta legend, Gucci Mane, he was able to grab some big names for his debut album, Life of a SlimeCrook. Those include Gucci, NLE Choppa, producer Tay Keith, and Rob49, among others.

The subjects tackled on this effort are nothing too different from the typical trap topics. Violence, money, and bragging are all here, along with Sett’s commanding tone. Some songs that stuck out were the songs featuring Choppa and Gucci. “Cottonwood to South Vegas”, which talks about where Sett is from, and “Break Out Date Cake” are energetic and head-knocking bangers.

Today, we finally take a look at Hardrock, an eclectic rapper and singer from the South that has a fascinating skill set. He has put out a few projects since he started in 2021 and he just released his fifth called 1of1.

Hardrock definitely lives up to the title of this latest effort, attacking a wide range of atmospheric and cold productions. His voice is a blend of Future, Young Thug, and Playboi Carti, which makes for every track to be an unexpected journey.
