NBA YoungBoy has made history on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. At just 23 years, he’s become the youngest artist to have 100 entries. His song “Big Truck” reached the milestone, marking his 100th entry. This feat puts him in the company of only 12 other musical acts who have charted 100 or more entries. […]
Although NBA Youngboy claimed to be blackballed at one point, it hasn’t necessarily impacted his success. He’s managed to cultivate a loyal and dedicated fanbase who will ride out for him. Ultimately, he reached incredible heights on streaming platforms and charts when he puts in limited resources into marketing. It’s truly a testament to his work ethic and standard of quality. These days, the rapper’s maintaining his prolificacy through a number of projects, including Don’t Try This At Home. A week after it dropped, and he’s reached another milestone in his career.
According to Billboard, the Louisiana-based rapper is officially the youngest rapper to have 100 entries on the Hot 100. It’s no surprise, given the amount of music he’s released since August. However, it’s another testament to his adoring fanbase and work ethic. The success of “Big Truck” earned the 23-year-old rapper this accolade. Now, YB joins an exclusive club of artists, including Lil Baby, Drake, Future, and Taylor Swift, as the 13th artist to chart 100+ entries on the Hot 100.
NBA Youngboy’s Reign Continues
NBA Youngboy’s latest project, Don’t Try This At Home, marks his second project on Motown Records. Following an incredible run in late 2022, that included projects like The Last Slimeto and Ma’ I Got A Family, the Baton Rouge rapper came out swinging at the top of 2023 to launch a new chapter in his career. He kicked off the year with I Rest My Case before coming through with his latest body of work, which landed at #5 on the Billboard 200 with 60K units sold in the first week. The project includes features from Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, The Kid Laroi, and Mariah The Scientist.
Mainstream domination aside, NBA Youngboy also experienced some new milestones in his personal life. A few weeks ago, the rapper welcomed his 11th child. Although information regarding the child remains minimum, fans identified the child’s mother as Drew Valentina. Just a few months prior, he and his fiancée Jazlyn Mychelle welcomed their son. Evidently, his family is growing just as quickly as his catalog. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates on NBA Youngboy.
Another album, another successful debut for NBA YoungBoy. The rapper’s latest collection of songs, the 33-track I Rest My Case, is set for a top-five debut.
According to HITS Daily Double, YoungBoy will move between 60,000 and 65,000 units in the first week. The album would be the Louisiana legend’s 14th Top 10 Billboard 200 release.
Don’t Try This At Home, the highly anticipated new album by YoungBoy Never Broke Again, has been released through Never Broke Again / Motown Records.NBA Youngboy is currently just one song away from reaching the milestone of 100 Hot 100 charting hits. He will accomplish this feat as the youngest artist in history.
Along with the newly released singles “RearView” with Mariah the Scientist and “WTF” with Nicki Minaj, the album also features Post Malone and The Kid LAROI. NBA YoungBoy is one of the most streamed musicians in the world with more than 30 billion total streams and 109 RIAA-certified titles, including three platinum or double platinum albums. Don’t Try This At Home is his sixth full-length studio album, expanding his discography.
The 33-track album shows him at the top of his game, expertly using his off-kilter distinctive flow while diving in and out of biting lines and irresistible melodies.
However, there have been some obstacles in promoting the album. YoungBoy has been under house arrest in Utah since 2021. While the conditions of his sentence were recently lightened, the rapper has not been able to properly promote an album in some time. Despite this, YoungBoy dropped a reported $200k to rent LA’s Elevate Lounge DTLA for the Don’t Try This At Home. Additionally, YoungBoy would attend the event virtually via live stream.
YoungBoy No-Shows
Everything was ready to celebrate Don’t Try This At Home. Famous faces were mingling at Elevate. DJ Carisma was providing the on-site music. But there was no sign of YoungBoy himself. The event continued but still no sign of the man of the hour. Eventually, the party closed out and everyone went home without ever having seen or spoken to YoungBoy. It was a disappointing turn of events, especially given the hype surrounding Don’t Try This At Home and the party’s price tag. The party was also reportedly sponsored by 50 Cent’s cognac brand.
So what happened? TMZ claims a source with knowledge of the situation informed them that YoungBoy had simply gone to bed. Utah is an hour ahead of LA and the late Saturday night start would have been even later for YoungBoy. However, the rapper’s team disputes this. “There was a technical difficulty and they couldn’t get NBA YoungBoy on the live stream. They tried Zoom and FaceTime without any success and unfortunately, NBA YoungBoy was unable to connect with his friends and fans,” they said in a statement. Technical difficulties feel like the more likely reason but if that were the case, why did the rapper simply call in and speak to a few people? No further statement has been released at this time, with YoungBoy’s team only speaking to refute TMZ‘s claims.
Don’t Try This At Home is the latest album from NBA YoungBoy. The 33-track album was released on April 21. It’s the artist’s second album after re-signing with Motown Records and follows January’s I Rest Has My Case. I Rest My Case peaked at #9 on the Billboard 200. Don’t Try This At Home is NBA YoungBoy’s sixth studio album. YoungBoy has previously had two #1 albums – Top and Sincerely, Kentrell.
While I Rest My Case was all YoungBoy, Don’t Try This At Home features a handful of collaborations. Numbering three in total, YoungBoy linked up with Mariah the Scientist for “Rear View”, Nicki Minaj for “WTF”, and Post Malone and the kid Laroi for “What You Say”. “WTF” peaked at #99 on the Billboard Hot 100 as a single. “Rear View” was also released as a single and may chart this week.
“Don’t Try This At Home” Projected At 60,000-65,000 Sales
According to Hits Daily Double, Don’t Try This At Home is projected to sell between 60,000 and 65,000 units in its first week. While fairly modest sales for an album of its size, the projection should be good enough for a top-5 chart debut. That would be a return to form for NBA YoungBoy. I Rest My Case is the only album in his catalog that did not break into the top five during its time in the charts. YoungBoy is a three-time platinum artist thanks to his first three albums. Despite this, he has not hit that status since Sincerely, Kentrell. The Last Slimeto went gold and I Rest My Case is currently uncertified.
However, another album released this week has absolutely dwarfed Don’t Try This At Home. D-Day, a solo rap album from Agust-D (also known as BTS‘ SUGA), absolutely smashed sales records upon release. It became the fastest-selling album in Korean history, moving nearly 1.1 million domestic copies on release day. Hits Double Daily projects that D-Day could move as many as 135,000 US copies in its first week. If those numbers are even vaguely accurate, Don’t Try This At Home might have to settle for silver at best. However, it appears to be a return to form for the 23-year-old.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Never Broke Again Clothing, LLC announced a new clothing collaboration with Westside Merchandising, one of the nation’s top goods and retail apparel producers. Together, they have developed the one and only official gear line for NBA YoungBoy and the Never Broke Again company, capturing their individuality and spirit.
A recent capsule of t-shirt designs from the new collection, which reflects the Louisiana roots of the Never Broke Again brand and NBA YoungBoy’s distinctive look, was released. Hoodies, hats, and other streetwear will be included in the collection’s ongoing inclusion of new capsules.
The publication of this collaboration coincides with NBA YoungBoy’s upcoming “Don’t Try This At Home” album on April 21, 2023. NBA YoungBoy and Nicki Minaj collaborated on the song “WTF,” to be released before the LP’s release on April 7. Other recent singles like “Demon Party” and “Next” have already received positive reviews.
Youngboy’s partner and Never Broke Again co-owner Kyle “Montana” Clairborne says: “I’m hyped up about our new gear with Westside Merchandising, you know what I’m saying? We came up with some fresh designs that represent the Never Broke Again style and YB’s fans.”

Kentrell Gaulden, better known as NBA YoungBoy, has become incredibly popular in the music industry. He has built his reputation with hit singles such as “Outside Today,” “No Smoke,” and “38 Baby,” despite facing many obstacles, legal and otherwise. YoungBoy often collaborates with other renowned artists in the field. His most recent collaborations were with Nicki Minaj and Mariah The Scientist. They appeared on his singles “WTF” and “Rear View,” respectively. The songs are part of his new album, Don’t Try This at Home, which was released today.
Although NBA Youngboy releases a ridiculous amount of material, he has been under house arrest since 2021. Despite this, the rapper is currently living a relatively peaceful life in Utah, where he has a recording studio at home. YoungBoy has been facing legal issues since he was arrested for federal gun charges several years ago, and he is working hard to regain his freedom. Sadly, he cannot make public appearances due to house arrest. However, he seems determined to promote his new album to the best of his abilities. He even dropped $200k on a release party he couldn’t attend.
YoungBoy, AKA Mr. Gaulden
NBA Youngboy’s new effort is an insane amount of content. A 33 song album would have been rare even 20 years ago, and it’s practically unheard of these days. However, when you are stuck at home as an artist, it makes sense that you would create as much as possible. YoungBoy is constantly releasing new material, so while it might not be the best time for him, he is making sure his fans are eating. The album has plenty of standouts, but one of the best of the extensive trackless is “What You Say,” which features Post Malone and The Kid LAROI. The dreamy sounding beat has an almost melancholy feeling to it. The talents of the three artist meld perfectly on top of the instrumental. Definitely one to save. Along with the audio, YoungBoy dropped a music video for the track.
NBA Youngboy is also about to achieve something pretty huge for an artist his age. The 23-year-old Baton Rouge native is on track to be the youngest rapper to have 100 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His first single, “Untouchable,” charted at number 95 in 2017. Since then, Youngboy has managed to chart 97 more times, either as a lead artist or a feature. The rapper would be in good company. Some of the other rappers to achieve this are Nicki Minaj, Drake, Lil Wayne, and Jay-Z. With YoungBoy’s new album now released, it would be almost impossible for him not to hit the new milestone. Quotable Lyrics:
I done made it out the storm Check my bank, I made new commas I can’t take no break, I’m way too young I won’t count a baby down, oh Pull up to this party, not for fun Makin’ sure I stand, my money tall Know that I look nice enough for someone Freezer, I might leave it with lil’ shawty
NBA Youngboy might be one of the biggest artists of our generation, but he’s a father first and foremost. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper is only 23 years old and now welcomes his 11th child into the world. Of course, this set the internet on fire, with some even comparing him to Nick Cannon, who has 12 kids total.
Prior to this new bundle of joy, NBA Youngboy had ten children with eight different baby mothers.
Now, it seems an Instagram model named Drew Valentina has given birth to Youngboy’s newborn. Rumors circulated online at the end of last year when Valentine posted her pregnant belly to her 102K followers on Instagram with the caption, “thank u for choosing me to be your mommy.”
Most of the comments under the post seem to address NBA Youngboy, whose cultlike fanbase holds nothing back when it comes to trolling on social media. Valentia’s more recent posts show her without the baby bump, meaning the baby must have been born. Details such as the baby’s name have yet to be revealed.
On the music tip, NBA Youngboy recently unveiled his new single titled “Rear View” featuring Mariah The Scientist. The song sees YB crooning for a lover who isn’t giving him the same love in return. Fans can look forward to his forthcoming Don’t Try This At Home album.
